Welcome newcomers!! Plenty of room here for all, and the more the merrier! NM love the pooch pooper scooper the best too.....but as for the guy, I wondered what happened to cause his arms to be dislocated below the sleeves...picking up too much poop? LOL.

Will respond to posts later....gotta get my second cup of cafe. Hey, Maine gals, why does the Allen's coffee liquor taste different from Kahlua, etc? I would love to recreate McD's iced mocha (w/ nonfat milk)...please some hints on that! Nice to have a real bartender with us....and to be exposed to even more amazing drinks!

    Love ya'll,
    Kathy

Gotta share this "oil spill solution" link with you gals....my mom forwarded it to me, and it really looks like it COULD work.... I am esp concerned, as it will affect our state a lot too....and it breaks my heart to think of all the sealife, birds, etc that are dying because of this. Sorry to be OT, but thought this was a great idea.....

Hi NM - I checked out cafepress, way cool, thanks. They need a shirt that says "Got Drain?" Thanks for the Stanley Steemer (delicious) and all the housecleaning info for chemo chicks. And OMG - laughing and rolling on the floor at your pooper pics - thanks for those - ha, ha, ha...

Astorm - glad you got the floors all ship shape and to take a nice Sauv Blanc break sounds so nice.

HD - you're right, forget cleaning, more drinking!

kittycat - I'm thinking that if we're practiced up on hangovers, then chemo should be a cinch. I was trying to practice drinking water, but maybe just practicing more peach mojitos would be better...as for spirits, mostly good, sometimes weepy, then sometimes back to shock-like numbness. Have fun with Lady M!

Lady_Madonna - hello to you! That's great you're getting through chemo, only one to go? - whooppie!! (May I suggest another party???)

wahine - I agree, these gals are making me feel like my house is dirty! And I'm supposed to just sit here and do nothing with this stupid drain! Aaarrrggghhh! Last night I stayed in bed from 9:30pm to 5:30am and in the am it still was almost 25 cc. Oh well, the cut off is June 21 when I think it has to come out so I can roll on to chemo. I'm so sorry to hear your dad is still ailing and your poor mom so worried. I am praying for them both.

goldie - WOWIE! WIGS! I love the pics and you look absolutely fabulous dah'ling, those are so cute and thanks for the link. I'd be happy to take em off your hands but only for proper consideration. My natural color is kinda dishwater blond and now with a little bit kinda white in the very front. I used to be more blond but since I moved to Washington, and there's never any sun, it's turned darker and a little more reddish. Actually it is sunny and beautiful today, so I have gotta get outside.

Jaybird - So you're turning 50? Happy Happy Birthday!! Can we have another big drinkie poo party??? Party Time, Party Time...

Hi junie - Hope you have a great weekend!

Nobleanna - thanks for the Suffering Bastard, a perfect drink for me at the moment, Tastes so yummy tooo! The thread is somewhere in humor and games (I think).

Have a wonderful weekend, Cheers, Beans

Sorry i'm not in Barcelona -- just wishing. It think it was Jaybird... DH and I were supposed to go to Barcelona and Madrid (2003?) but then somone bombed a train in Madrid and our girls were still too young to fend for themselves so we went to Germany, Austria and Prague instead. When we got home we learned that there had been a bombing in a hotel very near ours in Prague while we were there. I think we are due for some travel. I noticed recently that I have the only valid passport in the family right now. Hmm.

Hi girls!!  The weekend... another excuse to celebrate!  Heather and I get to meet up today- we'll be sure to raise a toast to each of our friends here!!  I'm just about fully recovered from chemo #5, except for some darn body aches (I think a little nip will take care of those.)

Goldie, lovin' the wigs.  Since I've had mine I've had so many compliments on my hair- it's really funny!  They make 'em really nice these days!  I always just smile and say "Thank you!"  Last week in the grocery store a lady even asked me who my hairdresser is... I just gave her the name of the girl who used to do my hair!!  Crack me up....!!!

Heather, it's a blast to make a party out of shaving your head.  I did mine on my birthday and got a mohawk!!  If you're up for it, let's do it!!

Speaking of birthdays, Happy 50th Jaybird!!!  Wow... I love that turning 50 is something to be proud of and celebrate enthusiastically.  Wasn't it silly to worry about getting older?!

I wish everybody could be here in Vegas today having lunch with Heather and I.  We're all already sisters... thanks for all the fun, support, and encouragement!!  Have a great weekend!!

    Good morning!

I don't have much time, going to get a pedicure today! I never get a manicure because they never last (and I've been told I shouldn't on the BC arm), but I do love having my feet done.

Welcome to the new ladies! I see you've already made yourselves at home so let's get to drinking!

I've never bought anything from cafepress, glad to hear they are good. I have purchased from Zazzle and was very very disappointed. I ordered a key chain and it turned out to be a slogan button on a key chain. I also ordered a t-shirt and when it arrived it was sized to fit a child, not an adult. They made me pay return shipping - even though it was their error!

I would love to get together in LV if others can make it there. I've only been there once and enjoyed it - except all the cigarette smoke made my allergies kick in hugely! My nose was still running a week later! This time I'll go armed with better meds.

Ok, off to get some work done and then go play!

    ciao for niao,

    Connie

There is a pool party in my subd today, and instead of being in that crowd, I made Thai Shrimp Basil Rolls, and we had beer and were going to just sit in front of my parents townhouse which is near the pool (they're in HI).....BUT it is 90+ STEAMY degrees....and tooooooo darn hot to be outside!!! Usually the bands start early, so thought that would be fun,but didn't hear the music yet, so came home and ate inside...LOL. I did an upscale restaurant mystery shop last night, and have a casual one to do tonight, and now looks like a pizza one coming up, prob tomorrow. Too HARD to diet! LOL.

Melanie and Heather, CAN'T WAIT to hear how your get-together went! And please share pics! I was so fortunate to meet junie...and we clicked right away, and she is such a special person. Afterwards, I posted a pic of us with "Hunk" the very good looking pit boss at the casino! So, hope you will post a pic or two also.

Getting all ready for our PARTAY!!!!!! Seems like a lot of us have one crisis or another to deal with, and can all use an escape for a few hours. So, Pants, Jocks, Wenches, PULEEZ get a fun party together for us TONIGHT....hoping everyone will show up!!! (That includes you, Dee!)

As Connie says, "Ciao for Niao" (I love that one!),

wahine - I'm sorry I thought you were in HI, I got confused. How do you like AL?

I also really like NV and would like to be somewhere around Reno. Vegas would be fun too, I've been there a few times and had a blast. I love the desert. I so wish I could meet up with Heather & Melanie. Have fun you two! Cheers!

Beans, I LOVE Alabama! NEVER thought I would say that, as growing up in HI, we sorta looked down on that...LOL. (In fact I briefly dated a guy from AL in high school, and felt so sorry for him that he had to admit he was from there...LOL). And here I am! We are in the northern part, near TN, and a very hi-tech area, so we have all the nice shops, lots of art, concerts, etc. Mountains, lakes, and the TN river....very nice and green, but extremely hot from June-Aug. But I chose to move here about 30 yrs ago, and I really STILL love the area. We have traveled a lot in the US, and overseas, and I really like it here. I guess I like the mountains more than the desert. We do have beautiful sugar-sand beaches, but it is about a 6-7 hr drive from me. But that is what is so fantastic about our great country....there are so many diverse areas that each of us can find a place we really like!

I think your beach location for our party is PERFECT! Looks like a nice day, calm water, and lots of pretty drinks already set out. Come on gals, get ready to PARTAY the night away!!!!

wahine--Allens Coffee Brandy is coffee flavored brandy, Kahlua is coffee Liquior.  Liquiors have a higher sugar content than brandies.  The biggest difference is price.  A small bottle of Kahlua costs around $15 here, the same size bottle of Allens is about $6. I think the oil spill solution is a great idea!  There was a news item here about local Alpaca farmers sending fur to use to help with the oil clean up that's never been used--I wonder if it works on the same principle?  The hay  is better though--like the man said, burn it for energy, A real win-win it sounds like to me!

goldie--woops-can I claim "pre-reconstruction brain" for my inablilty to keep details straight?

Beanius-I'm pretty sure Cafe Press will print custom sayings--"Got drain" is GREAT!!!!!!  ;)

AStorm--I'm claiming "pre-reconstruction brain" for getting you and jaybird mixed up.  In my mind you were having a wonderful trip, too bad you had to come back early!  Definately time to get the famkly's passports updated.

Jaybird--Happy 50th!  Make sure you get an AARP card--the discounts that gives you are absolutely wonderful.  Almost everyone had an AARP discount, I ask everywhere I go. There are definate benefits to hitting the half-century mark!

Lady Maddona--I've vacationed in Vegas several times, love the place.  My cousin lives out there now, and I can't wait to be done with surgeries, etc and be able to take a vacation. I love the lights, all the things to see and do,  Oh, yeah, the penny slots are ok, too.

Connie--a pedicure?  Good for you!  I've never had one but I would love to.  I'm always eiehr barefoot or in sandals during the summer and would love for my feet to look good.  And I bet it feels really good, too!  I think I'm jealous!

Sounds like a beach party for Jaybird's birthday is in the order of the day!

    Beauty On The Beach Recipe

    1 oz Southern Comfort
    1 tbsp Grand Marnier
    1 oz White Rum
    1 tsp Lemon Juice
    2 dashes Orange Bitters

Hey hey all. Happy Birthday Janis. When is the actual day? We need to get some "Shirley Temples" for Avery. I am sure she will want to join the party for her mom with all of her Aunties!

NM, you can proclaim what ever you like! AARP, I have my card! I can't even believe I am old enough to have one! We get the magazine too. Beauty on the Beach suits Jaybird perfectly, as she is very beautiful.

Love the beach party Beans....looks fab! Good job.

Connie, enjoy that pedicure. Close your eyes and imagine it is Pants and Jocks doing the job!

Kathy, is that one sock monkey on a dance pole? CUTE! The party one didn't show up, is this it?

Well, I played with worms most of day yesterday. I have my worm factory and the worms came Friday. We unbeknownst to me, I guess DH had ordered nematodes too and I think I put some in my worm bin. So now I am trying to find out if they are going to multiply and possibly eat my worm eggs. We got 5 lbs of worms. I put 2 lbs in my bin. They are suppose to eat betweet 1/2 and 1 pound of food scraps a day. They also eat paper, such as cardboard, junk mail, newspaper, etc. I am anxiously awaiting some beautiful compost for my garden!

Waiting for pictures Heather and Melanie!

Beans, proper consideration? Have no idea what you are talking about. If you want one or both, email me your address and I will send Priority Mail.

That sure sounds like a stiff drink NM!

Huggles to all my drinkin buds

NM, Will have to look for the Allen's coffee brandy! And (not sure who mentioned this) to make it taste similar to the McD coffee drinks, just add ice and milk??? Ummmmm.....todays drink looks soooooo good!!! Think I will partake of the mimosa fountains and scrumptious brunch the TT's have set out for us, too.

Well, y'all have to count me out on the AARP discounts....we used to support them, but DH found out they were big supporters of something we were dead against ('nuff said, do not want to get into politics on this thread), so we threw away our cards. I used to forget about using it anyway...LOL. Some places offer a "senior disc"; motels included, so we just need to show proof of age for that. Like, why do they need to see our ID....would think they could tell by looking at us...sob, sob.

Lori, NOOOOOOO that sexy sock monkey has a red/white ribbon across her ( think!), NOT a pole...although that sounds like more fun! The other pic had a low res, sorry I couldn't get it bigger...it is of sock monkeys "after" a party...some look passed out! Wish it could have been bigger. "Huggles"....that is a cute word!!!

Yeah, jaybird, I forget when your birthday is...was hoping we could ALL get together for it! Remind us of the day, okay? SPEAKING of birthdays.....someone here has one coming up this week...a little hint, her name is a big giveaway!!!! Sounds like another partay to me!

Lets all be beautiful on the beach (and drink it too!)!

Way too much going on in here, I can't even try to keep up with it all!  I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I have too much going on but that's just the way the cookie crumbles huh? Busy working for the weekends and trying to keep myself well. On a sad note, my mother is not okay and her prognosis doesn't look good. Too much to get into but that's it in a nut shell.  K, I hope your dad's test turn well and he is fine. Y'all keep on having fun and have some drinks for me since I cannot consume the alcoholic beverages anymore. Good luck to all going through treatments and welcome to all the new ladies. I will try to keep in touch.

Peace and love to all :)

Good Morning Ladies, Drains (JP), and Worms!  I am slurping down some coffee.  Catching up on posts.  So much going on.  Welcome to the new lounge crowd.  I know we will be having a hullava party on the 18th and also the 27th.  The 2 - J's.  June birthday girls.  Kathy, Lori, monkeys were cute.  Kathy, hoping the best for your folks.  Know that is so emotionally hard.  Junie, glad your bathroom remodel is done. May you enjoy it for years.  Lori, I am worried about you.  Worms and nematodes.  Have you gone stark crazy?  LOL!  I hope you are just drunk!  Beans, have you gotten your onco score yet?  Hope you can get on with things.  AStorm, sorry you weren't in Barcelona, you might have met Jaybird....LMAO!  NM, I think a persons brain does wobble abit before a big surgery.  You will do fine.  Tell us when the countdown is.  I think you are the 21st.  Not sure though.  Kitty, hope your MUGA allows you for the red devil.  That is a horrible wish I know, but probably is on your oncos chemo cocktail of choice. Dee, so sorry to hear about mom.  Nice new avatar.  You lost your crown!  LOL!  Connie, hope your toes are gleaming today!  Time for me to shut up and drink my joe!  Have a great Sunday all.  I am headed for the pool side.  HunkyD

I had a great time yesterday, meeting Melanie and another local gal, Lorraine (lorrhaw).  We had a 3 hour lunch.  I think the waiter was ready to toss us out!  LOL!!!  We didn't take pics!  Darnit!  I forgot to do that!!!  Next time!  Melanie and Lorraine look fabulous, especially since they are both going through chemo.  It's nice to meet local ladies going through this stuff!  We will have to do it again soon!!!

Beanius - When I got my drains for my bmx, I posted on m Facebook status that I felt drained! Those people that knew about my surgery thought it was funny!  I hated those drains!!!

I like the idea of a head shaving party.  My husband mentioned it yesterday at a friends house. Everyone looked at us like we were crazy!

By the way, I have a pooper scooper.  His name is Mark (my husband).  He needs to do it today, after bathing our dog (Monkey), who smells so sour this morning (talk about wanting to GAG)!

Wow, there is a lot going on today...

wahine - I got my map out. I've had this fascination with TN although I've never been there. I'm from CA so have driven all over the west. I did get over to Boston and New Hampshire once on a biz trip. AL sounds beautiful. I'm hoping to get to travel some this summer (in between whatever if it ever starts...chemo would be 3 week intervals, but once rads starts I'm grounded for 6 weeks.) I so hope we can get over that way, it sounds so nice.

NM- love the Beauty on the Beach - delectable, scrumptious - I'm wearing "I'm too sexy for my hair" t-shirt!

goldie - I love the sock monkey party - too cute!! I'll buy a round of Shirley Temples! Good luck with the composting, that is something I've never tried before.

dee - So sorry to hear your mom isn't well. I will be wishing you and her all the best. Hope you can pop in again when things calm down.

hunkydory - No oncotype score yet, as of Fri they didn't even have the specimen at the lab yet, tick, tock, tick, tock. Thanks for askin'. Hope you enjoy your café by da pool. Hope all else is goin' well for ya.

NM - we ARE on the same count down...JP goes home 6/21 - hurray! (Doc says one way or another it'll be out that day) Since I'm a west coastie, I think it's 8 days, 2 hr, 47 min, 18 sec...

Dee, Your new picture is gorgeous. I am totally sad about the prognosis for your mom. That is terrible news, and I can only imagine how hard it is for you. I will keep all of you in my prayers, and hoping and praying for a change for the better. Was so sorry to hear that. Yes, we will drink all the likker you want us to drink....and make some yummy non-alc and juice smoothie drinks for you, so you can regain your health. PLEASE stop by with us again, and let us know how you and your mom are doing. We care about you so much!!!

Yup Lori, another one THIS WEEK....not counting jaybirds b'day which must be on the 27th. VERY easy to figure out, and you will feel silly once you think of who it is....LOL.

Beans, if you get over this way, be sure to let me know ahead of time, and hopefully we will not be on a trip, and we can get together!!! I was surprised seeing the news of Nashville, how that town is back to normal after the horrible flooding they had downtown just a month or so ago. But it is best to visit this area in the fall.....so hot in the summer...really sultry, steamy hot.

HD, Would love to see a pic of your new sink! I'm joining you by the pool so I can hear the latest gossip. NAH, we really wouldn't gossip now, would we? LOL...everyone better show up at the pool today, or who knows what we will make up about you....J/K. Nice sunny day at the HTL....just time to relax and swim, and have drinks brought to us....what a life.

Connie, I am jealous too! Have not had a pedicure in YEARS...I think that is much more pampering than a manicure, but just never find the time for it. Hope you enjoyed it for all of us! Hmmm....maybe we can get the wenches to do manicures for all of us....I am sure they could even do it poolside.

Everyone, do have a great day!!!! Suck 'em up!

Happy Sunday, loungies!!!   Started happy hour a tad early today with Bloody Marys at 9 a.m.  Yummy--after having 3, the rest of the day was sooooo pleasant.   Sat on deck and watched a big storm move through.   It was about 10 miles north of us; we didn't get one drop of rain but got to enjoy the lightning show and thunder.

It makes me happy to hear when posters actually get to meet each other beyond the cyber world.   Have been so lucky to meet several and it is always a wonderful experience!   LOL--the trips to Vegas and Tahoe to meet up added to the FUN!!!

Grabbing me a beer and heading out to the pool--my ears have burned all day so think Hunky and Wahine been jawing about me today!!!   Big hugggssss to all......and, Dee--pop in anytime, Jocks and Candie have a whole shelf stocked with wannabe drinks just for you!!!

I go to TN a lot because my company is based there (Memphis). I love how greeen it is there.  I am so used to rocks and desert here.  Although, I love the dry weather!!!

Yes, next time we'll take pictures. Maybe then I'll be sporting my wig!  Well, I guess I need to have chemo first!!!!  I hope it starts this week!

I had fun meeting some of the girls here for the Ta Ta sisterhood last year.  :)

Well, I shopped at the Sunflower market today.  97 cents for raspberries - yum!!!  They have so many cool things in that store.  Then we came home and made pomegranate margaritas.  Had my dog swim in the pool, so now he doesn't smell anymore - yearh!

Heather, Do you get a chance to go to the casinos in Tunica when you are in Memphis (I think its less than 30 miles south)? That could be a place to meet sometime! We go there often, and junie goes there sometimes too...that is where she and I met! Those pomegranate margaritas sound sooooo yummy!!! Sounds like you are ready for chemo, and in the right frame of mind....although I know you will be glad to be through with it all.

    Sweet dreams!  And cheers!!!!!!!

Kittykat-97 cent raspberries??!! Wow! Berries are still almost $4 a pint up here. I can't wait for the crops to start coming in so I can get some fresh and at a decent price. Pomegranite margaritas sound wonderful. Sadie's "Uncle Jim" bought her one of those plastic wading pools for toddlers; when she gets excited she jumps in, spins around, jumps out and then runs around the yard like a demented dog. It's hilarious to watch and she does smell better, once she's dry!

Dee-I'm praying for you and your Mom. Hang in there, and please keep us up to date.

Beanius-Love the "too sexy for my hair" t-shirt! Go for it, girl! If your appointment to get JP out is at 7:30 am, then the countdown is 6 days, 23 hrs and 5 minutes. I know it's going to go really fast for me, I hope it goes just as fast for you!

Hunky-I second wahine's request for pics of the new sink! Share the fun! Let us celebrate with you! We only have 2 excuses for a party this week, we need at least one more and seeing your new sink sounds like a good one.

Junie-I love watching lighting storms, as long as I'm safely inside. I'm glad you could watch and not be bothered by the storm. Sounds like you've found the secret for having a good day, 3 Bloody Marys first thing in the morning!

    Drink of the Day:

    Thunder And Lighting

    1 oz Vodka
    1/2 oz Rumple Minze

(Rumple Minze is a strong, peppermint flavored Schnapps)

Weekend is over, back to work!

Junie, I love to watch a thunderstorm too. If we happen to get one, I run from one end of the house to the other, looking out all of my windows! Darrell just sits and laughs at me.

Heather, hoping you can get things going today. I hope everything falls into place and you can get this show on the road.

Beans, yours is delayed too, right?

We have so many gals here, hard to keep up! I love it.

Dee, I too am sorry to hear about your mom, and then to have her so far away. Will you be able to go visit with her? Will keep a bar stool open for ya, you can drink  her at The HTL, have some fun and it won't bother you in the least. I promise! (((DEE)))

HD, me stark crazy? YOU BET! Wouldn't have it any other way. I am trying to get some good compost for my flowers and veggies. The dirt here in AZ, if you even want to call it dirt, has no nutrients in it at all. Hard as rock. I guess thats why there is much growing naturally!

Well the only other birthday then, that I can think of is Junie's. Please don't let me miss one. I missed HD's birthday, don't want to miss another one.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.......I know I will!
