WOW....what a party! Thank God that "What happens at the HTL stays at the HTL"....a lot of us would be embarrased otherwise! NM....yummy looking drink....so many good flavors together....think I need to try one (at least). I don't know who jumped out of the cake either...wasn't he wearing a blindfold (and nothing else)?

So far,the tests on my dad are not looking very good. Another MRI (w/ dye) on Monday. I appreciate everyone's care and concern. Right now though, he is not in pain, so I am thankful for that. DH is having his stress test, as I write.

I think I need cheering up today too. OR maybe I just have a hangover from last night? Love this site, and love all the parties we have here, and support for each other!

Like Lori said, we gotta get those drinks loaded up on the bus, so we can head out. Looks like we will be putting a lot of miles on it soon. Hope everyone is having a good day today!!!!

Looks like we all survived the par-tay!!  Jocks and Pants already have the place all cleaned up.  Wow--I don't even have a hangover!!!

All packed and ready to load for for trip to St Louis.  Poor Pancho is moping--when he sees us packing, he knows he is going to camp.   Will be home for one day before almost 2 weeks of company.   When that is all over, I'm taking down the No Vacancy sign and putting up one that says the B&B is CLOSED!  (Will reopen, though, if any of you come visit!).

Will be thinking good thoughts for everyone.  Good luck on Monday, NM.

as someone else says....ciao for now!!!!    HUGGGSSSSS

NM - I love the hat, the drink, but most of all.. the firemen!!!  Yum...

Wahine - sorry to hear about your dad. I'll keep good thoughts for him.  Testing and waiting are the worst!!!

Speaking of, I got a call this afternoon from my dermalogist's office.  They left a message and told me to call them back.  Well, I remembered hearing the phone rang, but I forgot to check my message until 4:53.  Well, the derm's office closes at 4:30 - go figure.  Now I'm all worried about the mole they removed from my back.  They said they would only call if they needed me to come back for another procedure!  I've had enough of procedures and I can't handle the idea of having skin cancer!!!!!

Speaking of cancer.... Today is the one year anniversary of my 1st diagnosis.  I was upbeat all day.  I saw a customer, went and got my Neulasta shot, went to the pharmacy and found cute flip flops for $5.99 and went grocery shopping.  I feel good so far and now my stomach is in knots over this call from the derm's office.  I need a drink and I can't drink!!!

    Anyway, enough of my crying...

Junie - have a wonderful birthday tomorrow!!!!!  Cheers!!!

Wow, it was a quiet night in the lounge! Everyone must be recovering from the PARTAY!

Today's drink is a nice, healthy tonic, with OJ, so it's good for breakfast!

    Tonic Vodka Orange

    1 oz (chilled) Vodka
    1 handfuls (ice cold) Ice
2 oz (Add To Taste) Orange Juice
    5 oz (fresh) Tonic Water

NM, I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I am already to head out on bus. Candie and Sugar are sharing the driving so Pants and Jocks can tend to us ladies. First stop will be dropping NM and Sadie off. We'll make sure that Sadie won't be spotted NM, just you...will know she's there. Then we can run Beans over to get rid of JP. Head back to bus and drinks to celebrate with for Beans while heading back to be with NM. And MORE drinks when she is done!

No town today. Going tomorrow as there is an auction! They have this every year on Fathers Day weekend. But they are saying on the radio, that this will be the last one Cry. So I imagine it will be packed and things will be going for way more than they should! But we are taking a disposable grill, some burgers and some wine! We can have a little pic a nic out there or we can go somewhere else and have one.

Heather, so glad you are feeling good, but sorry you missed that call. Hopefully everything will be ok!  Kathy, any word on Dad yet?

    HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNIE

Heather, Hoping that the dr office was just calling to tell you everything was A-OK!!! Maybe their signals got crossed, and someone wanted you to know you had nothing to worry about. Thinking positive thoughts for you!!!

Lori, WOW...love the Happy Birthday a$$ shaking dance! And PURRFECT plans for our bus trip. I am worn out, so am VERY GLAD you have that all figured out for us...many thanks! NM and and Beans, we are on our way!!! (So cute that you figured out a way to sneak Sadie in, also!!). Guess I won't know too much till after my Dad's 2nd MRI...he and my Mom are at the beach condo right now, so am hoping that will rejuvenate him. Also, wonder how he was able to drive that far? Since all he seems to want to do is sleep, day and night. DH is at his 2nd stress test (its a 2-day thing), so won't know about that for awhile I guess. If I took a stress test now, it would go thru the roof!!!

Junie, HAPPPPPY BIRTHDAY to YOU today....would sing, but don't want to empty the bar! Hoping you have a FANTABULOUS day (and night)!!! Here is another cake for you......

Hunkydory - the miller hat is too cool, can I have one of those for the bus trip? (P.S. thanks for the words of wisdom...I keep forgetting it's a whole new life...)

Astorm - Yeah, the docs with different stories are driving me a bit crazy right now, hope to resolve with them next week on our bus trip - yippee!

goldie - I love the candles in the beer pic - that's a good one! And thanks for the wiggly butt dancers, made me laugh - ha, ha, ha! I love auctions and hope you have a great time in town tomorrow.

junie - hope you have a great trip! Happy Birthday!

kittycat - congrats on your one year and getting one chemo down. Sorry you have a new worry and I hope turns out to be nothing.

NM - excellent drink choice for this Friday am. I'm slurping mine down and feeling oh, so healthy. Can you relate to this Scottish proverb: "A day to come seems longer than a year that's gone." Do you think the firemen will fit on the bus too?

wahine - I so hope your dad is doing okay. The birthday cake tastes great with my tonic vodka orange. Thanks for that!

Good news that oncotype results should be ready by June 24 - bad news, that's two days after the other doc wants me to start chemo, makes no sense to me. Ya gotta laugh...I am so so so glad you're all goin' on the bus trip that goldie's lined up. My sister said to never ever go to these dr apts alone so glad Sadie and all you ladies will be there...thanks to Candy and Sugar for handling the wheel so Jocks and Pants can serve us up more crazy drinks on the way. Oh, boy, oh, boy!! Party bus!!

Oh, my goodness Goldie!  You are sooo organized, and I so appreciate your smuggling Sadie into Boston!  Please all of you have a few drinks WHILE I'm in surgery, we can't have all of you going 8 to 10 hours without a good drink!  I'll coast along fine on good drugs, I'm sure.  Who puts on the Father's Day Weekend auction that you're going to?  Sounds like a fun day. Hope you find a real treasure!  And I LOVE the dance!

Beanie--if the firemen don't fit on the bus, maybe they can drive the firetruck!  You guys certainly derserve a fancy escort with lights and sirens!

I am not moving very fast today, got to get some things done and seem to be dragging my feet for some reason.  I did go through the  bag I'm packing and take out about half the stuff I had put in.  I'm down to pj's to wear the night before, an outfit to wear to the hospital and then home, the drain puches, chapstick, hand lotion, my contacts and glasses, the pills I'm supposed to take Monday morning, a pillow for the ride home, my iPod with a new audio book loaded, and my paperwork.  I'll put the laptop and cell phone in just before we leave Sunday.  Any suggestions for anything to take out or anything critical I'm missing?  I want to travel as light as possible,

Oh, well, time to get back to the To Do list--later, ladies!

Wow, you all are so wonderful to read and it cheers me up so much to hear you all. I know some of you are starting chemo and have surgeries coming up but you all's attitude and support are truely to be admired.

N.M. I'm so sorry you have a hard time with needles. My mom did also and I remember what she had to go through. Occasionally she got a nurse who really knew what to do with non-existant veins so I hope you find one of those nurses waiting for you. I read somewhere drinking water pumps your veins up but since you can't drink anything before surgery not sure how that might help anyone.

Best of luck and easy recovery to surgeries and chemo to all of you.

I'm still in the midst of trying to see how to fix my house after my self-inflicted flood waters. I'll have to move all the furniture and stuff out of 4 rooms! I'm just so tired all the time it is hard it get anywhere on this. Yes, movers will move all the big stuff but I have lots of knick knacks and the kids toys and such and of course while I'm at it I think Oh I should sort through and get rid of some junk..... you know how it goes..... So here I sit in a bigger mess than one would think possible and still no clue where to put stuff.

Anyway, I know small stuff compared to health. That is what I keep telling myself. I'm just so glad you all have this virtual bar with no hangovers, no calories, everyone looks grand in bathing suits and lots of lovely nice men to serve drinks. It is hot down here in the south so cooling off it a priotiety. Good Luck everyone!

NM - You are doing great with your list. I have a princess sister who would suggest a few more things (she doesn't travel light though):

    pretty undies

    comfy slippers &/or cozy socks

    favorite comfy pillow

soft comfy clothes to wear to and from

    favorite tissues

    ear plugs

    soft night mask

    nail clippers & file

    favorite candy or gum

toothbrush & favorite paste & floss (maybe some nice tasting mouth wash?)

    intimate apparel magazine

happy digital photos on your laptop

    notebook and pen

    hairbrush & dryer

    favorite soap, shampoo, conditioner

    Special happy items for luck

    • Sadie in a hideaway bag

Stanzie - I'm sorry you are still struggling to get your house back to order. That is no small stuff to deal with. It sounds overwhelming, but if you take one thing at a time and stop to rest when you get overwhelmed you will get it sorted out. When we move my husband always makes this huge pile of all our stuff and then we little by little get it organized. Hey, BTW thanks for noticing that I've never looked better in a bikin than since I've been coming here - hot stuff! Good luck to you and try to stay cool.

    Junie- Happy birthday!

Beanie- nice list. Sounds like my princess bag. Here is what I needed: barf pan, hard candy. Never unpacked a thing. Like the bus too.

Kathy - did you say mango? mmm

Lori - LOL! do we still have that perco-fountain? I think NM might want to wade in it next week.

Heather - hope your Day2 is an easy one. There is a special Chemo-Queen crown you get to wear at HTL and you get first priority for drink orders too.

NM - you must be so excited! I'm just thinking about thinking about a revision and I'm getting excited. Hey I'll let you in on a little secret: sshh!!  ask your anesthesiologist for vodka. I'm sure that is what I got because one minute I was telling the surgeon I was passing the baton (my consciousness) to him and the next minute I was waking up and it was all over. Really good sh*t too, I didn't even have a hangover. And then I slept for 3 days. Almost made it worth getting the IV. OH! START DRINKING WATER NOW... just in case I'm right about the vodka you'll want to be well hydrated. But seriously, do drink as much water as you can. The IV is much easier if you are well hydrated and it helps you get rid of the anesthesia in your system faster. We'll teach Sadie some tricks for you while your under :)  Any preferences? I taught our teeny weeny to ring a bell when he wants out but I'm sure Sadie is waaaay smarter.

Stanzie - my method is... put everything in boxes with numbers. Make a list of everything that is in each box. Put the boxes in the garage. Lose the list. Whatever is important enough to rummage through the boxes for gets unpacked. In 3 months or so have a garage sale with everything that is still in the garage.

AStorm, I love your moving method! And then lose the list...priceless!!! YUP, I said mango...he cut up 4 mangoes, and had 5 shots of premium algave (is that the correct spelling?) tequila...BUT he put in too much mix,and too many limes, that I couldn't taste the mango... :( . SO I let him drink them all, and resorted to my old standby, Seagrams/Diet Coke. Really was looking forward to it, but...oh well. Junie, I DID toast to your birthday!!!

    Hey Gals!!!!  Cheers!!

Happy Birthday Junie!!!  Hope you have a fabulous day!

I love the chemo crowns!!!  I hit the chemo wall today.  Felt a little tired and my bones ache a little from that Neulasta shot.  I am laying in bed right now! :)

I talked to the nurse at the derm's office.  She said my mole was slightly abnormal, but NOT CANCER.  She told me "Breath, you're going to be okay, Breath!!!"  I told her I was a 2x BC survivor and just started chemo.  She originally was an oncology nurse so she totally understood (she lost her mom to cancer).  Anyway, they were going to re-check it in 4 weeks, but I told her I'd see the derm next week.  Whew!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!  Our 11 year anniversary is tomorrow!  Tell all your dad's Happy Father's Day!  Normally I would have a shot of Jack Daniels in my dad's memory, but I don't see myself doing that this weekend!  So have one for me please!!!  :)

AStorm...you made me lmao.  You are good support here.  Kitty, I am sending positive thoughts with you and so glad your skin mole was B9.  Happy anniversary too.  I know it won't be the best of celebrations, but hey....you on are your way!   NM....on the countdown with ya.  Can't wait to get on the bus.  I have been in the hospital so many times this year I think my packing list is lodged in my brain.  If not, it is in my DH brain.  JUNIE....HAPPY REAL BIRTHDAY!  xxx & oos.  Bean...my lord...get ready...you will be happy to know we are all waiting with you for your start date.  It will be good to get started with a trt.  Love to read your posts...you are so funny.  I don't know how you remember everything.  Stanzie....oh the horrors of home catastrophy.  I sure hope you can get the boxs labeled....just label them TBAL.  To be accessed later!  Lori, if you get on the bus...please pack a fishing pole and a few of your worms....I would like to catch me a big one!  LOL!  Kathy....still praying for your folks.  Hope your seagrams and that swill you mix it with has given you some southern comfort tonight!  Hi Jaybird...glad to see you pop in.  Dee....hope you are having a great fine time as frog legs or hair on frog legs.  You know the saying!  I am ready for movie time and a nice weekend!  That means NO WORK for me.  Crowns and clowns....keep posting....love ya all!  HunkyD

AStorm--LOVE the moving advice!  I've been in my house since 1993, and there is an entire storage area under the basement stairs that I haven't been in since then.  Someday soon it will either go out for yard sale or onto the burn pile.  Well, not too soon, maybe next summer.  Hmmm. seems I said that last summer and the summer before and the summer before that. . . The chemo crowns are wonderful!

wahine--mango margarita sounds soooo yummy!  Maybe I should mix up a pitcher or two and start drinking them now so I'm well hydrated on Monday morning. . .

kittykat--I'm soo happy that the results from the derm are good!  And good for you for not waiting to see the derm again!  Way to go looking out for yourself!

Stanzie--hang in there and keep plugging away.  I'm praying for you that things will get better soon!

As for me:   2 days, 00 hrs, 24 mins, 44 secs until surgery time.  We're leaving at 9 am tomorrow morning for Boston, spending the night there.  Today I'm taking Sadie to her Auntie Linda's to be dog-sat (and spoiled) until I am drain free and able to handle her enthusiasm safely (which is going to take way too long I can tell already).  I am a bundle of contradictory emotions right now--excited, nervous, scared, thrilled--all at once!

I think I found a perfect drink for today--(the mango is for wahine, the happy is for everyone else, and this is what I'm going to ask the anesthesiologist for)

    Happy Juice

    1 1/2 oz Coconut Rum
    1 1/2 oz Peach Schnapps
    1/2 oz Guava Juice
    1 oz Pineapple Juice
    1 splash Passion fruit Juice
    1/2 oz Looza mango nectar

Getting my stuff packed, so I am ready to get on that bus! NM, I am so glad your surgery date is almost here....I think the waiting is the worst part (well, almost!). Then the healing process can begin, and you will feel a little better each day, till you finally get this behind you. SO nice of you to want us to drink while we're there at the hospital with you....you know us TOOOOO well....LOL. We will make sure those drs and nurses treat you amazingly well. LOVE the drink....so many tropical fruits in it, it HAS to be healthy, right???? Counting down with you.........

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!!! I prob won't know any results for my dad or DH until Tuesday or so.....I think I need a ton of that "Happy Juice"...ummmm Pants, fix me up will you?

A-Storm - Love the boxes idea! If only my garage didn't have rats (I'm afraid so, ick ) even my cat is scared.

Kitty Cat - so glad the mole isn't cancer - what a relief even though she should have apologized for making you wait so long! Happy Anniversary!

NM - I agree waiting is just so horrible but at least you are almost on your way. If you are like me missing your furry baby will be hard. When I got home my little dog- long hair dachsund wouldn't leave my side.
