Embarassed Oops, Thanks Kymn....I corrected my post. Not good to try to post while watching all the bad weather about to hit. Severe T-Storm warning now, but prolly will haveTornado Warning soon....it is about 15-30 min away. Lots of damage so far from verrrry strong winds (not at my house, but from this storm as it approaches). Do we have a storm shelter at the HTL???? Heading there right now!

Kymn - LMAO! Did your cat write that stuff? It is all so true!

I'm sitting on the bed with 2 cats in my lap and DH made a whining noise but didn't toss them on the floor like you usually does... I think he knows I had some tequila...

THANKS for the giggles! Now he's asking me what I'm doing.

OH, my, lots going on in the lounge today!   The big storm predicted for today hasn't started yet, a good thing since I've got a doc's appointment in a couple hours.

Not looking forward to the colonoscopy discussion, or the discussion about my hands that keep going numb.

Maybe if I take the dog in and have her examine her instead of me?  Probably won't work, my PCP is pretty sharp, and has known me for years.

I need to think of some kind of reward for myself for getting through another doc's appointment.  Maybe an entire day in the HTL Spa?

    DOTD:  Cheshire Cat

    1 oz Peach Schnapps
    1 oz Spiced Rum
    2 drops Ice
    1 oz Orange Juice

Oooohhhhhh great idea NM....think I will join you for a spa day. Think your dr can find you there? I'll try to hide you.....OR maybe Pants and Jocks can keep you covered up...Wink. Yeah, I am sure she would know if it was you or Sadie....LOL. Have you had a colonoscopy b4? They aren't that bad, and I usually feel like I've had a restful sleep afterwards. If your dr mentions that, ask about the prep and an alternative to drinking that gallon of stuff. There are options to that. FUNNY pics and comments!! Love the cheshire cat DOTD, after all the cat references lately...LOL. Hope you don't get that bad storm....looks like we didn't have any damage with ours, but the huge LR window we need to replace was leaking so bad as the rain was coming in sideways with the strong wind. Had to cover my chair, etc., and it was pouring in where the windows meet! It is almost an entire wall of windows, so need to start estimates for that....ugggggg. Good luck with your appt!

Gail, Love that cat with the tekkila pic....sooooo funny! Glad DH didn't throw the cat down this time!

OK...it is finally Fried-dey, so we need to start the morning with a bang! Think I'll start with NM's Cheshire Cat drink, then follow up with some of that cat's tekkila, then maybe Bailey's and Cream, then............. WooHoo, lets partay starting this morning and go on thru Sunday!!!!!!

    ChEARS! Chairs! TITZ UP! DILLIGAF!

Kymn, Today it will be upper 50's, coldest day of the week....it has been in the 60's and 70's lately. Come on down! BUT when we have our hot, humid summer, then we will come up and visit you where it will prolly be cooler!!!

Yumm....this drink looks yummy, but WTH is "Tuaca"???:

    To make the Jack Colada:
    1 1/2 oz. Jack Daniel's® Tennessee Whiskey
    1/2 oz. Tuaca®
    1 oz. cream of coconut
    2 oz. pineapple juice

Mix ingredients with 1/2 cup of ice in a blender until slushy. Pour into a hurricane glass. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and enjoy responsibly. For a twist on the Jack Colada, add a splash of Chambord® and garnish with raspberries.

Kymm.....   One of my friends lives in Calgary, and I still remember the magic of skiing on Lake Louise, then going for lunch at the Chateau.  That is living.

Loving all the cat jokes/pix.  Still miss my Rosalind.  She used to curl around my laptop when I was working at home.  This is when I was still married.

Just the most glorious sunrise this morning over the Olympic Mountains.  They were pink with all the fresh snow on them, turning to a brilliant white.  I can't wait to go skiing at Snoqualmie Pass this weekend as at least 2' of fresh snow and cool enough for it to be powder.

Had some wonderful wine at the wine bar last night.  Then came home and made some easy pasta for dinner.  Missed the PAR-TAY....sorry.

Was talking to everyone and learned they are all starting to train for spring events.  First time for me since living here that I am not doing either the Chilly Hilly or Hog Loppet.

NM.....you will be just fine with the colonoscopy.  Extremely painless considering the alternatives.

I must check on the spring flowers today, but they can survive a bit of snow and temps in the 20s.  Happy Friday!!! - Claire

BAck from the PCP appointment and knee x-rays.  Cholesterol numbers are better.  Still anemic,  Vit d up to 36 from 25.  PCP thinks the knee pain is arthritis/injury from when I fell last July, and thinks the numb hands are carpal tunnel.  I lost it when she asked if I wanted a myelogram for my hands.  I'd rather learn to live with the numbness coming and going that go thorugh that.  I agreed to the knee x-rays, and it was like walking back into rads "treatment" and almost had a panic attack.  Thank God the tech has experience with women with bc, took extra time, explained that I didn't need extra protection for my chest, then gave me a second lead apron anyway.  And a hug on the way out.  Gonna get a hearing test, too.  She's going to give me until summer to think about the upper endoscopy and colonoscopy.  I had a bowel prep once before and the cramps were agonizing, I wound up passed out on the bathroom floor, woke up covered in $hi# and in horrible pain. "that's unusual" is all the response I got to that one.  I've been terrified to ever have to do a bowel prep again.  Well the xanax must be kicking in, I've stopped crying and shaking.  Gonna go float in the warmer part of the pool and watch a movie on the huge flat screen TV they tenders put up for us.  I"m thinking something totally stupid and fun, like Spaceballs or Men In Black.  Anybody wanna come too?  There will be big drinks of something potent and soothing, I'm sure!

Oh my gosh - I cannot keep up !!!!! Astorm - yes there has to be something to call it when a man nags. One thing my SO did with my beloved Liesl and has now started doing with my cat, Tully. Is saying see how they love me more than you??? HUH? No way!!! And it just makes me so angry - don't know why he does it, but then don't know why he does most things..... I need good friends who can find me someone nice, normal and thoughtful. Why is that sooooo difficult to find?

Anyway, Kathy - how were the storms - we just got some rain.

NM - sorry about the arthritis - not fun. Am I just totally nuts but aren't you in the medical field? Sorry long day.... Saw Chariots of Fire - part of the Jewish Film Festival and the director of the movie was there - very interesting..... and such a great movie. Better go not makeing enough sense.....

Happy Hour! Whew...been painting inside since I posted this morning while drinking coffee. TIRED! Got a little po'd, as the "amazing" installer used damn non-paintable caulk, and put it everywhere! Dang! I found out when the paint wouldn't stick to the trim, so then thought of using kilz and had to put 2 coats, then regular paint over that. Also started painting the dining room a different color, and am about half done. LOOKING GOOD! I am just SO anxious to get my house back to normal (or better)....tired of so much being packed up, although it is wonderful to have the subfloor covered up again! I even started hanging some paintings back up. The flooring co. owner came today and was amazed at how good it matches...cannot tell where the old ends and new begins. Of course that is cause I hand picked all the pieces that would match the best! Gotta get new windows and get the eaves repaired b4 even *thinking* about replacing the kitchen and laundry room floors!

NM, OMG what a horrid prep you had! Yeah, I wouldn't want to do that again either! The last time I had the colonoscopy, I didn't even have to do the enema bit....puleez ask your dr what type of prep they require now. My DH had the endoscopy and colonoscopy at the same time too, much better than 2 separate procedures. I just am so glad that our dr lets us do such an easy prep too! Maybe you can have yours done here....j/k!

Stanzie, Even more reasons to throw that SO to the curb!!! Just start getting out more, but not just where much older people would be....more places that have people your age....LOL. I still think the Sierra Club meetings are a GR8 place to meet rugged, outdoor guys. When I went to one meeting, I was in awe of all the good looking guys there (who "looked" single...didn't find out as I had a SO then). And we have a very active singles group here who have big dances, partys, etc. I mean, dating is when they are supposed to treat you real special....the way he seems to act, it is like you have been married for a long time...lol. Anyway, I want you to have someone nice!!!

Dorothy, Cute visual! Still Fried-dey for a few more hrs!  I am too tired to partay tonight, but if someone arranges it, I will come and just sit and dwink and watch all the action!

HD, Lori, Junie, Chrissy, Beans, Gail, etc.......where are you girlzzzzzz??????

    Happy Hour Time!

Just getting to the PAR-TAY.  Actually, my second of the evening as went to Last Friday Evensong which was followed by good wine and cheese.  Great talking to everyone, and yes, I did pray that all of us are well.

So sorry about the water Beans.  Frozen pipes are the pits.  Chilly here in Seattle too.  My cycling club had messages going around about cycling on ice.....DUH....time to switch over to skiing.

    HD....nice to see you again.

I am waiting for the potatoes to cook (Potatoes Anna) and then a bacon blue cheeseburger.  I probably should be eating more fish, but these are so good.

Kathy....am sure the floors and everything else will look fab once it is all done.  Hard to take the long view when buried in all the nonsense.

Good morning, Loungettes!  I'm waiting for the coffee to brew so if I seem a little fuzzy brained, that's the reason why.  Ah, Pants, dear man, here you are with a mug AND a pitcher of coffee AND and IV set up to get me jump started this am!  This is the one and only time and place that needles don't bother me, the boys are so good at the coffee infusions.

Beanies, hope the pipes get thawed out without incident.  Frozen pipes are not fun, been there done that a few times growing up. A Maine tip for you--use a hair dryer on the pipes and start from the faucet (which you leave open) and work back toward the walls.  That way the water has somewhere to go and less pressure builds up that can burst pipes.  Not to mention that you can hear the rush of water when the blockage is finally cleared!

    DOTD:  The Frozen Pipe

    1 oz Aquavit
    1/4 oz Kirschwasser
    1/2 oz Lime Juice
    1/4 oz Sugar Syrup
    1 tsp Egg White
