Hope this works. This is from the Tiara party! Helen who is a retired European Opera Diva has a huge collection of jewels. I got to wear an antique Russian Tiara/crown and the necklace and bracelets were truly amazing. Everyone wore jewels - all the men! My SO wore a fabulous brooch and this amazing ear clip which had probably 70 rhinestones! The elderly husband wore a gorgeous silk robe as a long smoking jacket with a jeweled necklace and then another fabulous one on his forehead - actually looked sensational and Mrs. loved her presents and all. The musical director who just retired played Bach and Gerwishwin - even the " serving wench" yes they did call her that and she was totally into it all was bedecked in jewels. So a very fun and festive evening.

Now just received bad news. My brother-in-law's cancer is back. They are at the hospital and on Thursday will have his entire colon removed. They think his liver is alright.

Dee - once you get out there and they meet you they will be very lucky to hire you.

    Dorothy - YAY!

Chrissy - hope it all goes well as you need to be able to move! On the bus again......

    Stanzie....so very sorry.

I am laying low today.  Think I skied myself out.  Need to check to see how my friend is doing.  I normally have a bit of joint soreness from Arimidex, but much too sore in my butt and quads to notice it. Arms are OK, as I do weights.

Think we may have more great skiing next weekend.  YAY!!!

Dorothy.....wonderful news that all is just fine with your implant.  Cautionary tale about not overdoing the ointments.  I am so thrilled to learn this.

Think I could use a trip to the hammock about now.......  However, real world is that I need to look at a presentation. - Claire

She-at, uckfay and sonvaitchbay, I just wrote a nice post and worked hard at addressing all of my girls. I was doing it on internet explorer so that I could repost the link for JB. I am seriously po'ed. I had copied my text along the way then got the message "internet exploring is not responding"???? Seriously, I now know why I use Firefox. But then again......hmmn, I think that there is a conspiracy against us drunks.

I might try again but geez, I tried hard to be "precise and consise" and say something about each of you.

The only thing I can say now is that I am heading to the chapel to give my thanks and again pray for all of my breast drinking friends. You girls are the best and I appreciate your help in keeping me somewhat sane. I did not admit how scared shitaless I was. Although loosing a boobie is not that bad as opposed to non-cosmetic fixes but nonetheless, I am not ready for the O.R. and hate it. I hate BC so fn much, sorry for the lanuage.  I will see you in less than 24 hours when our tatty-copter lands in Australia, mate.

Wishing you all comfort, healing, peace and love!! I may be bock (just a warming).....

I am back ...I bet many of you ladies are watching The Batchelor. . Stanzie, your avatar came out beautiful. When I was reading your post I was smiling. It sounded like you had a fab time with those jewels, I love it. Then I got to the part about your brother-in-law. Aww, I am so sorry. I hope his surgery is a success and will be thinking of you and your family.

The Tattie-Copter will have landed in Austrailia this time tomorrow. As Kathy pointed out, although Chrissy's surgery is Wednesday, it will be approx 7pm cst.  The buswith trailer full of likker in tow, will be leaving at midnight and it is fully stocked. The tenders worked hard in getting the bus and the tatty-copter stocked with likker. We can then fly back to the lounge in time to step into the chapel and pray for Stanzier's bro-in-law.

I have to find someone to fill my pitcher, I mean glass. Oh, the tenders have ordered  us all pretty pink glasses and they have our names on them. They ordered seven for each of us for those bad days.  Okay, off to find my dwink....oops, I dwant it.  Pants bring me another.  Tits up girls, I may be bock yet again (giving ya'll fair warning)...DH is busy watching News ~~yawn~~

I say hell yeah, you can snort and "tinkle" the ice all you want as long as I think here in the states, tinkling means going pee pee.. I am really laffing! Sorry...

The video is great and so was NM explanation.....Its been busy here today....too much to read...Stanzie...sorry to hear about your BIL...congrats to ????(forgot who), who got to keep the implant....Chrissy...when I was in college, I broke my leg and had steel plate and pins in it....had it taken out after all healed, so I kind of remember having a healed bone have to re-heal....will be thinking of you on Wed....have to go back and see what time it will be in Denver.....

I had a great long week-end with my parents....,my Dad has started on Aricept....sure hope it helps....today he had a doctor appt and walking to the car after the appt he tripped and fell....dad walks very gingerly with a walker....well my folks just got home after 7 hours in the ER...dad is scraped up pretty good....arm, face etc....glasses need repairing.....CT scan came out normal, no bleeds, but the longer Dad was in the ER the higher his BP went, so they wouldn't let him leave, finally when it started to come back down, though not normal yet, they let him go home.  It was really scarey....sure hope nothing shows up down the road....ER discharge instructions were follow up with his pcp immediately as well as to return to the ER in a few days to check the abrasions....why would they recommend return visit to the ER?

I know lots more has been going on with the lounge and the girls, but brain isn't registering what everyone was saying....couldn't focus so just skimmed the posts.....Wishing everyone a good night sleep and good Tuesday.  Karen

dammit--just lost a most wonderful, eloquent post!!!!!   Welcome back, Dee--glad to see you posting and hope you feel like jumping in more often--ya been missed bunches!!!!!   Hang in there!!!   And welcome to the OK poster--I'm in NW AR and we hit Grove and Tulsa often.....

I had a pretty good day--cyber shopped this morning and just know that the Fed X and UPS guys think I'm in love with them!   Had Phys Therapy this afternoon and was told that I will "graduate" after next session later this week.    I will have to find a way to celebrate.   I'll need to keep up with the exercises and walking daily and try to increase the length, but I have a good start.

And, happiest thing of all--I glanced out the back window this afternoon and my OMG yell scared DH and the dog both......BUT, literally overnight, my line of 1,000 daffodils sprouted up about 3-4 inches!!!!   It is always my sign that spring is almost here and they will be blooming gloriously in next 3-4 weeks!

I saw a sign:    DILLIGARA     (do I looklikeIgivearatsass)   hmmmmmm, I smiled.....

changing it to DILLIGAF      shorter, sweeter, and makes me snort!!!!

big huggggssssss to ALL!!!!!!!     ps------I am sooooo happy to have DH and dog back home but the devil made me do this............late this afternoon, DH put the leash on the dog and slipped on a jacket and grumbled that he didn't know what was wrong with the mailman; it was getting pretty late and this would be the 3rd time he'd walked over to pick up mail..........and, that devil helped me keep a straight face and look all pitiful and confused when I said-----"Isn't today a holiday???"   Now, that one made me snort silently inside my head and body and really felt good!!!!

    BOTTOMS UP!!!!!

Dangit, what is wrong with this site...I just lost a long post too. AAARRRGGGHHHHH! Well I started this at 4 am....trying to wake up to pick up my parents and take them to the airport. And Junie, if I had been sipping my coffee when I read about your comment about it being a holiday, well, lets just say my carpet would be covered in coffee right now! SO funny! And so nice to have you back among the living, as evidenced by your funny post. You don't know how much I missed all your posts. I know, our daffodils have been several inches above ground for a couple of weeks now...but not nearly the display you have......I remember in a pic how awesome that looks! Keep up the good work with the exercizes and walking! OH, and I love your new "DILLIGAF"....should be one of our bylines for the HTL...and I pity any newbies that see that and have to figure it out!

Karen, So very scary about your Dad's fall....glad he didn't have to stay overnight in the hospital...that long ER visit was traumatic enough! Hope that med will work, and hope he doesn't fall anymore!

Kymn, Awwww....such a nice comment about us all being sisters! I feel the same way, but like I finally have NICE, CARING, sisters!!! We are a good group of girlz!

Well, now that this post took forever and a day to write, it is time to call my parents and wake them up for their long journey today. Will chat later, but lots to do today to get ready for the floorers (YAY) tomorrow! Can't wait to get the floors fixed....been many months since that water leak. But....DILLIGAF?  LOL.

Hugs to all you sistahs here,

    Kathy

Wahine-thanks for the time difference info, I always seem to struggle with that.

Chirssy-are you anywhere near the earthquake area? Are you affected? Are you OK?

AStorm-your little one had it right!

Stanzie-sounds like a great party! Sorry to hear about your BIL. I hope he recovers quickly and they get it all.

Claire-skied yourself out? Is that even possible? Maybe you are human after all, I was beginning to wonder! Really, you deserve some down time. I'm waiting for enough snow to cushion the half inch of ice that is covering the current snow pack to try out snow shoeing. You still inspire me!

    JB-AMEN sistah!

Dorthy-Oh, my, you poor girl. The internet imps seem to be targeting you for no good reason! I'll meet you at the chapel for a prayer and a dwinky or two. I'd be worried about anyone ‘ready' for the OR. It's a scary place. I'll have whatever you're dwinking...

Kymm-I've had that happen a few times, too. A bit of a slap in the face, isn't it. It's still better than having to get out Silicone Sally and stuff her into a pocket where my boob used to be (no offense meant to anyone who is happy with her prosthesis!).

Karen-if your Dad fell in the doc's parking lot, and if the doc's office is part of the hospital system they are asking him to come back in a few days so they can document that no long term damage was done for their insurance company. BTW-if the fall was on hospital property there should be no bill for the ER visit or CT. It's standard hospital CYA in case someone sues them for injuries later. Glad you Dad wasn't hurt badly, scarapes and abrasions are bad enough, though!

Junie-I wonder if I can have "DILLGAF" calligraphed onto a poster, framed and hung up in my office and have anyone notice? I could drive a few students nuts by telling them to look it up when they ask me what it means! Mean me! And I've got to wait at least another month for my crocus to pop up. Jealous!!!!I

I finally got through a doctor's appointment without crying--my annual eye exam!  Broke my streak, was trying for crying at every doc appointment for 5 years.  Oh, well, probably not the greatest goal to have anyway.  Hoping to hear from the place I do some per diem work to get a few hours in this week to help out the budget.  STill a little while before the office opens, so there's still hope for today.  Gotta wait and see.

I'm thinking today's DOTD should be an Internet Imp:

    2 oz Tequila
    3/4 oz Grand Marnier
    1/4 oz Salt
    1 oz Lime Juice

OMG how sad...just saw the earthquake devastation in Christ Church, New Zealand....unbelieveable. The South Island was our favorite, esp Christ Church. That huge cathedral we have pictures of...steeple toppled over....historic bldgs reduced to rubble. Afraid of how many may have perished. Going to the chapel at the HTL and praying for those suffering losses (life and property) in New Zealand. So awful. Wow...they just said the earthquake also caused 30 million tons of ice to break off from New Zealand's biggest glacier, causing 12' high waves, about 100 miles off the coast.

Chrissy, Will be thinking of you at 5 pm my time.....Thank God you didn't get an earthquake in OZ.....but  I can imagine how much coverage you are getting there, on this disaster. Well, right now you need to focus on your surgery and recovery.....and taking it easy when you return home. Thats an order!

My parents 1st flight got off okay...was so sad....my mom was very sad to leave also....my dad was sad but anxious to get back home to do taxes, etc. Crying in my coffee.......

NM, Missed your post as I was typing this. Great insight for Karen, re her fathers fall, good info to know. Loved all your pictures! Our daffodils might bloom b4 junies, as they are quite high right now. OK junie....contest is ON......LOL.....j/k!

And Stanzie, Glad that partay was a success! Your tiara pic is priceless....what fun! So sorry to hear about your BIL though.....this is such a terrible disease.

    Hugs,

    Kathy

NM, thanks for asking re earthquake but I'm am in a whole nother country although New Zealand is quite close I'm very safe.  It is indeed a terrible tragedy and one that will be felt one way or another for a very long time.  The devistation is all encompassing.

Yes mum Kathy, I will do as I'm told and take it easy when I return home so I can heal quickly....or as quick as possible....lol.  Yes I probably won't sleep very well tonight as I seldom do the night before surgery although I don't fear it.  It is just after midnight and my sleeping dosage is just starting to kick in so I'd best go and put the head on the pillow and hope that I sleep at least for a few hours.  If I know me and I think I do, whatever sleep I get will be a restless one.

Thanks girls for keeping me in your thoughts tomorrow or 5pm your time, much appreciated and I'll be back on line before you know it.

Love n hugs to all.  Chrissy

Kathy, lol at you and Dot in da bushes. Remember, what happens at The HTL, stays at The HTL! I forgot to reply to your comment on Pants and Jocks. It was not me who came up with then name "Pants". I don't remember anything about Chevy Chase being mentioned! But now, I did find the boys.

Beans, beautiful pictures! And I love you avatar. I remember having one of those Furbies. Well it wasn't mine, it was one my kids. But it talked and was so much fun!

Chrissy we WILL be there, holding your hand. Hoping you don't end up with too much pain, although it does sound painful. We shall have the perco fountain ready.

Oh Dee, I do hope you can join us more. Did you get laid off, or was it a personal choice? I also didn't know you were having trouble with one of your boobers. I hope the surgery fixed all. And good luck on the job hunt.

Gail, you are a doll. Thanks for Freudian Slip, but I'm likking, I mean liking the Happy Dance! Dang we sure have some good looking men around here. Do we just hide them from our hubbies???

Gosh Kathy, seems like mom and dad just got here. I know you will be missing them. I wish you's could talk dad into moving to AL. I think you have said before, that mom would do it. Good job getting your curtains up. What are you tackling next, as I KNOW it will be something!

LOL Kymn about stirring the drinks. We had that discussion not too long ago, but it was with the turlet and not drinks. Did you and JB watch the video? I think a couple of the girls posted the link.

Stanzie, what a delightful evening. Sounds so fun. Sorry to hear it was followed by bad news. Will say a prayer for your family.

Dorothy, I think we all knew you were scared. How the hell could you NOT be. Glad it worked out for the better *clink*.

Kymn, of course you can snort. We have another "Snorter" here on the thread. She actually ruined her keyboard while reading the threading and then snorting all over it! She has given herself away in a post earlier. And then I thought you were asking if we could tinkle IN our glasses! LMAO! Jeepers, and I'm not even drinking.......well just coffee.

Hi Karen. That is so sad about your dad, I hope he gets better soon. But I agree....come back to ER for follow up? How strange is that.

Hey Junie, can tell by your post that you are feeling better! You will have to get a picture to share of all of those daffy's.  Love your shortened version of DILLIGARA, but I will NEVER be able to remember that. So I will just stick to WTF! And teasing hubby? Yep, she's feeling better!

Morning Lori! Gawd now I have no idea who started "Pants" name....HD or Dee???? They said that was what they called the bartender in a Chevy Chase movie, I thought. ??? It was new to me! I agree, it seemed like my parents got here last week.....but it was 2 months ago they came back with us after our visit in Hawaii. They will be back in 2 months...YAY! Yeah, my mom would have loved to have just stayed here! Luckily there was a nice party next door over the weekend, and they were able to meet more of their amazing neighbors....and they were the "hit" as everyone couldn't wait to meet them! Wondered why the retired General and others weren't at the party, but just saw their pic in the paper...was a real big event they were at, downtown. But yeah I wish my parents just lived here, as then I could help them out more too....worries me to have them there near my sibling who makes THEM do stuff for her! I am very thankful to still have them.

    Take care!

    Good morning ladies!

I must shoot off an email to my friend who lives in NZ for part of the year.  I have no idea where, but need to know she is OK.

The most glorious morning here with fresh snow on the mountains.  This week is supposed to be chilly and snowy so we should have great skiing this coming weekend.  Thrilled for that.

Junie....you sound ever so much better.  So thankful for that.

NM.....you obviously don't need the type of vision help I do.  I need to get to the eye doctor, but will need to spend megabucks on upgrading contact lenses and glasses.  Since I wear bifocal contact lenses which are custom made, this gets pricey.

Main Squeeze liked the chocolate pud.  Needed a reward for his efforts Laughing

NM....your ski cartoon reminds me of the time I got caught under the snow-making equipment on a cold day.  Like taking an ice shower.  Talk about teeth chattering!  Regular snow is soft and friendly, but not the ice shower.

Stanzie....so sorry about your BIL.  These stories remind me that I got off easy.  Or I did if this is all the treatment I ever need.  You don't know.  But of course, you never know anyway.

Life can change on a dime, and mine is totally different from 10 years ago.  Mostly in good ways though.  I already had the message that living well is the way to go.  Much more certain about that now....less certain about everything else.

YIKES....just looked at the time, and need to get it in gear. - Claire

Lori  - I'm hiding the hunks from my hubbie but I don't think he's appreciate them as much as we do.

Nice to hear from you, Junie. So glad you are doing better.

Stanzie  - so sorry to hear about your BIL. Whenever I hear of someone being diagnosed it just reminds me how fragile we all are and how important it is to savor every day of good health.

Happy trails to Kathy's parents! Sounds like you had a nice long visit.

Claire - stay away from the snow machine! The only ice shower I want to see is a shave ice in Lahaina.

Ok we finally solved the coffee dilemma: stainless tea kettle with adjustable temp settings (so can get 200 degree water), stainless thermal press pot with no plastic inside. Really awesome beans from a local roaster coarsely ground. Perfect cup o joe this AM!

    Have a great day everyone!

Had Jury duty today - my first time actually going in.... Got there along with about 300 others and the computers went down so we all just sat and sat. Yep the AC wasn't working either... Kept saying we'll let you know in 20 min. then told us no lunch break we had to stay in the one room! Finally let us out for a short lunch break. Came back and they had the computers up so I got to leave. Just 6 1/2 hours of sitting in a packed tight crowded room - seats like airplane seats.Whew - tired!

Chrissy, Thinking of you right now, as you should be in surgery. Raising my Seagrams/Diet Coke to a good surgery with no surprises! You are quite a trooper, and I feel confident you will recover very well, but remember you can come here and whine if you need to. We will drink the wine though, if thats ok. Can't wait to hear how everything went!

Gail, Sooooo glad you have the coffee situation taken care of! WooHoo! Funny, all this talk about coffee making and then my DH said he needs a new espresso machine! Sheesh. BUT since he likes the DeLonghi one he has, I just ordered the same one....he said he would like it for Fathers Day, so if the current one holds up, I can give it to him then.

Stanzie, Wow what a miserable day! I had to postpone my jury duty 3x, but now am scheduled for March. Never done it b4 either. At least you had a week with only a 4-day work week...smart!

Kymn, Good luck with your bone scan tomorrow! I was supposed to schedule one a few months ago....oops! I just hate those darn machines....even the "Open MRI" gets me claustrophobic. I see my family dr in a few days, so will prob have to schedule one at that time.

NM, Funny cartoon! Growing up in HI, we really DID NOT care about geography....I mean we were an island, and instead of N-S-E-W, we used Mauka, Makai, Diamond Head, and Ewa for directions. I figured if I knew where HI and CA were, then all was fine. LOL. Wake-up call when I moved to the mainland at 18 and had to learn WHERE the states were.....felt sooooo dumb! Hopefully the kids in HI today care more about that, but I have my doubts.

Eeks.....lawn chemical guy came today, and did not close the gate correctly....don't know how the furbabies did not notice that...but when DH came home from errands and then left for R-Ball, he saw the gate just swinging in the breeze. How lucky was that....cause if they had known it was open they would have busted out for sure. We can't see where the gate is, from the house, so we wouldn't have known. I am dead tired....after less than 3 hrs of sleep, and then tons of coffee, I have been working all day. Had to unpack all those boxes of wood flooring so I could pick the boards that match our flooring the best. Now my back aches, and am hoping this Seagrams will do the trick! If not, I may need to hang out at the perco fountain for a bit! OR behind the bushes.....LOL. They actually busted someone in a motel not too far away with a TON of "willie", today. Made me laugh, cause of our discussion recently. It is SO quiet here...I have Pants and Jocks all to myself, but I would rather have you galz come and join me!

    Hi Kathy,

I am here with you in Australia, mate and heading from the copter to the hospital now, are you there yet? Oh, I think I see NM and Stanzie just ahead of me. I can't "lolly gag" here as DH told me but wanted to let my girl Chrissy know that I am thinking of her and will keep praying for great news and a perfect recovery. She is quite the tropper and I love her.  I will pop back later to see who is here. Rounds for everyone, cHeers. And another for Chrissy !!

If we get hungry we can get some burgahs with slices of "beet root" on them, and then wander over to Mackie's" for a Big Mac or drink. Might watch some "footie" on the tele. I was "gobsmacked" to see everyone here! We all made it to OZ! Thanks for the dwinks!

Hi Kymn, What parts of OZ did you visit? I would have loved to have met up with Chrissy, but she lives quite aways from Sydney and we were very busy with relativesthis time (my 3rd trip). Beautiful country! But we so enjoyed New Zealand on another trip because it was so "compact" yet had snowy mountains, waterfalls, beaches, etc., we drove up and down both islands, with my parents about 3 yrs ago. I am heartbroken about the earthquake. Well, as far as Brad goes, I like him with either Emily or Chantel (sp?)....was glad "Chantal" (sp?) was sent packing last night. Ashley seems nice too, but I like the others better. Are you rooting for Emily? Gotta have champagne when watching that!

    Hope Chrissy is doing well!

JB, have pants pour your drink, what are ya drinking? I am a fan of Amer Idol too. I do not watch much TV, there are shows that I enjoy though and this is one. I still find myself thinking it is on Mon and Tues. nights.

Jocks, bring me an Aussie Burgah too. Sounds good. I hadglazed turkey tender loins with dressing and stuffing and a side of applesause. My entree was a lean cuisine though so I could go for sumthing more to eat. And drink.

Wahine and Kymn, what does OZ mean, I assume a place in Australia? Like NM, I nearly flunked geography.

Not my time for posting, as that is morning for me. But maybe it is almost morning in OZ? Chrissy, we are here with you. Partying, but here!

I've only really watched one Idol season, but I liked it. It's on tomorrow night, Wednesday? I'll have to try and remember to record it. We like Survivor.

JB, don't worry too much about what is who and where, then the why and when. For the most part, we just drink and have fun. I think the biggest things right now are Chrissy and her surgery, I believe Kymn will be just starting treatments. Dorothy had a scare, but I am pretty sure all will be ok there. Right Dot? And Junie gave us a BIG scare, but is on the mend. Beanz just finished treatment, as did Mrs Nice. How about you?

Kathy, please be careful with all that you do. Did mom and dad make it home ok? Hope you can get some sleep.

Raising my glass tonight to Chrissy...........hoping for little pain my friend. ((((((Chrissy)))))))

P.S. Gail I decided to revise my boobie signature. After my lumpectomy, my nipple inverted. Hence my dented winkie!

Oooops, sorry JB. Bumped into you. Hope I didn't spill that delishush drink. Maybe Jocks could bring us all one.....or two.......or four?
