Chrissy.....so glad to see you!  No, I don't see these scenes every day - only when I get on my skis and do some serious exercise.  This is from the high point of my favorite black diamond trail.  As an added bonus, my brain works afterwards.

Drinking some red wine now. I didn't drink during chemo, but that was me protecting my liver.  I thought it had enough hard work to do.  I understand the other POV though.  Dose dense doen't give you a Week 3, but it does get you through to (real drinks) sooner.

Kymm....felt so much better once I was undergoing chemo and could start to tick off the ones completed.

Funny wig story:  I went fun and funky as opposed to any of the official stuff.  Then I donated them to the Infusion Room supply closet.  The staff there was fighting over who could get to display them, and they were cheapies.  I will get some clip-on red extensions for when my hair grows out a bit more.  Just so much fun.

Jaybird.....your surgeon is looking at this from the POV of what she sees with recurrence, and it looks like not a lot.  I took the position that you can't replace, but you can always do more surgery later.  And reconstruction has its own pitfalls.  I am sure you get the gist if you read Dorothy's posts.  I would think seriously about this.

Dorothy.....hoping YOU are finally doing better with the implants.  I can't even imagine.

Beans......you are in the "post" letdown phase, plus unsympathetic fam.  Sometimes you just need to toss them the Fukitol bottle and rejoin life.  I ran into a couple of friends who got me embroiled with nonsense, and guess what????  I really needed the time for myself.  One of my friends tells me I am much better with boundaries now.  I think that is true.

NM......hoping you have power.  Internet can wait.

Time for dinner and an early evening.  And raising a glass in celebration to all of us.  So much cool stuff going on, and thrilled that we all get to enjoy it. - Claire

Oh dear...... I wrote this nice long post and now I don't see it but I'm almost positive I saw it after submit. I so hope I didn't post it on another thread......??? If it just got lost well shoot it was good. But too tired now so I'll try again tomorrow or see if it is on another thread and they just think I'm totally off.

Kymn, Glad the scarf looked good....we knew it would...you are beautiful inside and out, and it will show even if you end up losing your hair for a bit. Glad you were able to try it on!

My dad just wrote and the 3 biopsies he had all were malignant, so he will have 3 areas of skin cancers removed at the end of the month. Should be recovered well before their trip here next month. My mom said he definately doesn't want to move here, even though he enjoyed it here very much. Too bad, as they have such a nice place here. My DH went to our board meeting here tonight, and oh boy they sure are trying to be gestapo-like with all the fines and strict covenants. Can't even have a water hose showing....or weeds in the yard. Sheesh!

Oh well, time to belly up to the bar again!

Hope everyone is having a good night!

hey, Wahine--think I missed your post about being a big winner!!!   Who got to drive the car home????  LOL!!!!   Hope your trip was fun--that's the most important thing, and you surely did need a few days' break from working your little tail off!!!!   Welcome home!

Kymn--melt away--we all do that here and then let Pants and Jocks and all our friends here hug us back 'til next time.   Must confess that I am one who drank a bit during chemo...would usually have a couple beers a night and a rare glass of wine.   My onc was fine with "in moderation"...he did tell me I could NOT drink a whole bottle of wine though!!!  I think you'll instinctively know if you feel like drinking and how much or little you want.   Big, but gentle huggsssss!!!

You all got me really confused what day this is, so I''m officially declaring it to be another TGIF day, as are the next 3 days until the real deal--unless I've counted wrong!!!   Luv all y'all...Wer'e in for some stormy spring crap tomorrow but hoping for sunny skies for everyone else......NM--your description of the ice and trees made me go put on a sweatshirt and turn the heat up a notch--hope all is well with you.    I HATE power outages!!!!!!!

bottomsup!   Jocks is bringing dog beers out to the pool!!!!!

    Hi friends,

I am just popping in looking for something good to drink before heading to work.  The sun is shining and the rain and wind have stopped. We got the same storm system as NM but it was just flooding rains here and no ice.

I have read all of your posts and am digging what all you girlz are saying.  Great job Beans in keeping the toxic people away. Your post was amazing, well organised and made alot of sense. Seems your chemo brain is getting better.

I recall when HD was going through her thing and labeling the bottles, puke1,2 etc. Very funny and great way to make something so serious a bit entertaining. I feel for you Kymn, glad you got to try on your scarves and I agree that you are beautiful inside and out.

Shitty titty will be officially renamed pirty titty on Thurs. when I get the stitches out (like my positive thinking)???

Jaybird, how old is your baby? Are you on maternity leave? I so glad you do not have to go through the lopping, not fun as you know. Congrats. You were here well before me and I do not know you as well as the others but would like you to stop in and have one with me, on me this time. THANKS for the rounds, hiccup!!!

i wish I could type more, maybe i sneak in for a JD and diet from work, yaa think anyone will know??? Hmmm. Funny,I have an airplane bottle of rum at my desk which a coworker brought back from Puerto Rico a few years back, I keep "forgettting" to bring it home, it is like a warm security blanket.....

    To all TGIF, let's partay!!!

    Cute joke from my Dad:

A fifty-ish woman was at home happily jumping on her bed and squealing with delight.

Her husband watches her for a while and asks, "Do you have any idea how ridiculous you look?, What's the matter with you?"

The woman continues to bounce on the bed and says, "I don't care, I just came from having a mammogram and the doctor says I have the breasts of an 18 year-old".

The husband said, "What did he say about your 56 year old ass?"

"Your name never came up," she replied.

Dorothy - very cute - you must be a morning person!

Beanie - what a fab post - I'm so terribly impressed as I have trouble with keeping up with just to posts on the same page.

My cat is playing with the string of a still floating Valentine Balloon - just scared the life out of me as I'm home along!

Why do posts disappear and where do they go...?? Wish I could remember what I said, I'm sure it was dazzling.

Junie- check out your window, knowing Wahine I'll be she left that new car at your house for a nice surprise, cause that is just who lovely Wahine is!

Dorothy - Glad those stitches will be out soon!

OK, Having friends over for dinner - long ago you all helped me with wine selections so better get cleaning and picking up..... oh and I guess a bit of cooking might be a good idea!

Good morning Dorothy. Gosh I sure hope all goes well when you go to the docs. Funny joke, I have heard it before, but def. a good one!

Jaybird, I hope you don't mind. Dorothy, her daughter is about 5 and the cutest little thing! Jaybird is a flight attendant and gets to travel to other countries. Even has drinks with the Queen! I also believe she has been here, along with Junie and CasionoGirl since the beginning of this thread. I'll let her tell you more if she likes.

Well I am managing pretty good with the sneezing. So far, really only had it bad that first day. I have the sniffles and my eyes itch and water a little, but at least I'm not sneezing my fool head off!

Junie, I'm not sure and almost afraid to say....but I think it's Tuesday?

HA! Yes, my 'baby' is not  a baby anymore! She is 4 1/2 already! Auntie Junie, Auntie Casino Girl and a few others were here to welcome my daughter into my life - I adopted her after my BC stuff was over with. Sorry to be so confusing, Dorothy! The 6 weeks reference was to my having to be off work IF I have the surgery. Sometimes I'm much more clear in my head than I am in print! I'm still weighing the pros/cons, recurrance vs. new primary, being off work and broke or working and making money! Deciding what wine/scotch/beer to drink is MUCH easier! Tongue out

Today we're both sick, she's had a cold that is now a cough too and I have a cold with ear pain and I must get better before I fly again on Thursday so no drinking this week for me. Have had a week off but the rest of my month is busy, busy, busy so it all balances out. Kind of.

I'm off to enjoy our 50 degree and sunny day before it rains. Cheers and titz up!

Dorothy, That was funny...like Lori I had seen it before, but enjoyed it again! Hope this hasn't gone around to everyone yet, I just got it......

    WHY I'M  so DEPRESSED.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of
Israel,   "Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will
lead you to the Promised Land."

Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced)   Roosevelt
said,  "Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel,
    this is the Promised Land."

Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised
the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans,
the  economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement  funds, etc . . .

I called a Suicide Hot line.

I had to press 1 for English. I was connected to a call center in
Pakistan. I told them I was suicidal.

They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck . . .

     crazy

Goldie - Hope your allergies clear up soon, achooo!

Wahine - so glad your bloodwork has improved, great news. Okay, so I'm almost a 1 year tipsy survivor - hurray for me on the 29th it will be an official year!!! I'm sorry your Dad is having to get skin cancers removed. Do you know what kind they are? That is also too bad he doesn't want to move where you are, that must be disappointing after all your work. So funny about Fat Tuesday and show your boobs, get some beads!

HD - No boos from me, if I had felt like dwinking I wooda. Good idea to just follow docs advice.

Kymn - My husband was going to have a head shaving party with me...turns out my hair just thinned, but he DID shave his head anyway. Now I have all these short hairs that are coming back in. As for dwinks, my docs advice was a glass of wine or a beer between cycles, but no hard stuff. As it turned out, booze of any sort really tasted awful so I dint dwink much. This did not stop me from indulging heavily at the HTL where dwinks are fwee, they have no calories and they don't give you a hangover. I dwank gallons of vodka daily at the HTL (still do). I dwink it shamelessly straight outa the bottle, no mixers, no glasses, just glug, glug, glug! Ahhhhhh!

Chrissy - good luck at the follow-up, sounds so nice to be out of pain. Thanks for the fam sympathies...it is weird that once you finish chemo/rads they just forget about it like it was a bad flu or something.

Claire - I woulda loved to see your fun & funky wigs! As for more surgery, there's a thread on bco about lumpectomy versus mastectomy that was really helpful for me...so many things to consider either way. As for post letdown phase...I've read about that, that we get our strength up so much to fight and then post treatment there's a let down...it's hard to see when you're in the midst of it so I really appreciate you pointing it out. I have menoP mood swings too, so I'm struggling a bit, but I really think I will pull out of it. I know sunshine always helps, so if the winter would end...but it's snowing again today!! It is so pretty outside, looks like Christmas again.

Stanzie - I hate it when I write and then lose the post...hope you dinner goes well, I'm sure it will be fab!

Junie - great idea to have TGIF this week!!! Yeah!!! Happy Friday!! Hey Happy Fat Tuesday too! Mardi Gras!

Dorthy - tanks for da nice words about my chemo brain getting better...thinking big positivos on pirty titty for Thursday. Cute story about your security bottle of rum and cute joke too, hadn't seen it B4. Hope you're having a great day! Meetcha at the bar for happy hour. Hey I tink I found a pic of one of those toxic people eaters...

    toxic

Jaybird - sorry to hear youz are sick, and hope that gets better soon. All those pros/cons are so funcusing...that's all been circling around in my brain for months...you are so right deciding what wine/scotch/beer is easier.

Cheeeeers to you all ~ Luv n Hugs ~ Beanie

Oh that is funny Kymn! And if truth be known he prolly DID take that much or more! LOL

OOPS....thought Kymn's post was the last one, then this whole page of posts popped up! My dad's cancers were malignant, but he didn't elaborate on it except to tell me that 2 are on his face but the one on his calf is the one that is the worst. Yes Dorothy, hoping and praying that  on the "reveal" on Thurs, that your titty will be really pritty! And healing greatly! Jaybird, so sorry you are sick....hope you get over it by flying time on Thurs! How miserable that would be  to have to fly and be all stuffy.....gigantic headache there! Hope you will stay awhile and pop in more often! Beans, GR8 picture of the toxic people eater! So kewl. NM, I do hope too that you have power like Lori said....cause usually we can depend on you for the DOTD....otherwise we tend to worry. Stanzie, I know your dinner party will be fab.....you are a great cook and a great hostess! BTW I left a voice msg with my PS' nurse, and will PM you when I find out anything.

Trying to see what all I have to get done b4 surgery on Monday....so hard thinking that I can't lift or do much for at least 2 wks....that will be hard not to do stuff.

Kymn - Sorry the scarves made you sad. Funny how those little things can trigger emotions. My trigger is a commercial on TV... it's for the cancer treatment center at a local medical org and starts off with this woman's voiceover saying, "I have cancer" and the voiceover keeps making trite comments about what she's thinking like "I wonder what I'll look like without hair".. I'm thinking "or your boobs!" and when she finally smiles, looking out at the ocean, and the voiceover says "I can beat this."  I yell at her: "you WILL beat this". Wow, wouldn't it be great if you could get through the whole emotional cycle in 45 seconds like the commercial? You will be beautiful with or without hair. Sorry if that sounds trite, but you do have lovely features.

Dorthy - My kids are always asking for a tour of my old neighborhood(s)... I grew up in Michigan so I'd probably just show them my stomping grounds from my teens and early adulthood which is nearby... but I'm a little bit afraid of ghosts so I'm waiting until I feel a bit stronger. (I was going to say stable but that's probably never going to happen!) How dreadful for you to have a visit from Aunt B and Aunt F at the same time! Love the 56 YO ass joke.

Beanie - well I'm the Middle sister and I'm still dumb and can't do anything right... it's getting harder for them to make me believe that tho since my kids are turning out fairly normal, I don't have any addictions (well, except Wii), never been arrested, I run my own business, and have been married for 20 years as the older and younger sis have collectively gone thru about 10 divorces.  ... I did the fit test again and now I'm only 53 which is still too old but closer to my real age. I just hate it that I passed my 50th without a party! DH did the fitness test last night and he's was 86 (he is really super-fit, kind of like a male Claire, always on the go). He couldn't get the hang of tennis either, but I'm pretty good at that (was on the team in HS). Anyway, it was kind of fun being better at something than he is for once! ... Glad yr fukitols are working. If you need to be clingy, we are here for you and we're all a bunch of dwunk octoplusses here!

Claire - if I was in Seattle I'd live at Pike's Place! My kids were only about 6 & 8 when we visited Seattle but whenever we reminisce about that trip PPM is one of their fondest memories. Glad you had a quiet day. Good advice for Beans. For some reason (probably a self-help book) I thought that during my recovery period was a good time to reconnect with old friends I'd lost contact with but soon realized that I made an unconscious choice to move on (not before getting metaphorically slapped around a bit tho).

Chrissy  - well I haven't actually seen a Wii activity for cats but it does keep their stats. I had an idea for a program that teaches ppl to dance with their dogs but maybe their could be an exercise program for cats... I can imagine my cats batting at something on the screen but they don't have thumbs so they can't push the buttons... maybe I'll steal Stanzie's balloon...

Kathy - sorry bout your Dad. My mom was a southern-belle with paper white skin and she got skin cancer even tho she never went out in the sun. She had to have several patches removed, including one on her nose that required PS. My DH has stuff burned off all the time and it worries me that he still spends so much time in the sun. All I can do is make him go to the derm once a year. Go put away that hose! Sometimes I wish we had an HOA cuz some of my neighbors are obnoxious, but I know some individuals have a need to micromanage things.  Love the Fat Tuesday Sock Monkey! I rented Orfeu the other night... it is a reinterpretation of Orpheus and Eurydice but set in Rio during Carnival. Here are some Carnival men to help out at the lounge for the extra Fat Tuesday rush:

... in case you celebrate New Orleans style...

Lori & Jaybird - I'm sure this will help your sniffles:

Oh Beans what a neat selection of T-shirts for Dorothy to choose from! I sure like the first one...would think the boobs would get someone's attention, and then if she gets called up, she can also say she is a bc survivor, and look at her boobs now!!! LOL.

Yup Stanzie it is Fat Tuesday! Maybe you could throw some beads on the table or cascading down cancles or goblets. Tomorrow will be Ash Wednesday....seems so late this year, and Easter will be near the end of April. Glad though as my parents are coming back here on April 20 and when I booked it I had forgotten all about Easter.

Oooh La La Gail...now we have Carnivale men also......wowsa! Hey it got big (the type size girlz the type size!....Get your minds outta the gutter!) when I tried to hit the exclamation point....wonder if "tab" did it?  Hmmmm.....shall I try something on the guys bigger????? Weird how our posts either disappear or get large type, etc. Must be a ghost. Thanks for the concern for my dad.....he has had several cut out the past few years, but apparently one this time is quite big. But he WAS out in the sun all the time...not fair your mom got it when she protected her skin!

Well, oh now the print got real small and all I did was move to the next line. OK.....better quit before I get more behind.....

Ciao, I mean CHOW down....its FAT Tuesday after all!

Yeah Jaybird, I saw that too about International Women's Day! Hooray for Us!

NM, a lady that owns a "Po'Boys" shop here just said the phrase you wrote (on tv news)....wish I could pronounce it as well as she did! They already sold over 400 king cakes from there, today. Looks like a big Fat Tuesday partay going on there right now! Let the Good Times Roll....

Claire, There is no type size to choose from here, so I always wonder what I have hit when it suddenly gets larger....strange! Need to figure it out someday.

Ooh Beans, Hurricanes and Grenades! Think I'll try the Hurricane....had enough of throwing grenades in the army! AND it is raining here, so Hurricane sounds purrfect. THANKS!

NM, Now I am really worried that you lost power. We haven't heard from you, so puleez check in when you can. Saving a bar stool for ya!

Oh Kymn, I told my DH your joke and he really liked it! Thanks.

Pau Hana Time!!!! Dorothy, wanna join me in some JD and coke????

Come on girlz....we gotta partay for mardi gras....big time in the big easy!!!!

P.S. Do you think Stanzie would mind if we crash her dinner party? Would be yummy eating thats for sure!!!
