No, Debi, anyone can post here! My point was that we used to just 'talk' about drinking and such here and we kinda had fun then it turned into I don't know what and I feel that there are enough other threads for b**ching and moaning about stuff. Make sense? Please take no offense as I meant none.

Maybe our bc.org gal is secretly a stripper?

Hope they don't take her hair...and what's up with the uneven skin tones? Has she always been like that and I just now noticed?

TGIF girls!!! And I have a long weekend! I'm taking off Monday. Going to Missouri tomorrow for the "Annual Pool Party" at friend Denise's house. There are 4 of us who get together 3-4 times a year for "Girls Weekend". No kids or men allowed. We've all been friends for 20+ years and have been doing the girls weekend thing now for about 12 years. There is ALWAYS drinking involved.

Last year, (after a couple of pitchers of margs) we were in the pool and took close up pics of each other's nipples, then tried to match them up later with who they belong to. Not too hard when there's only 4 of you, but it seemed like a real challenge at the time. I made sure my "good girl" was used, (as opposed to Gnarly Girl) so as to not tip anyone off with the lumpectomy scar.

Cheers girls! And have a nice weekend. Try to stay cool with an iced refreshing drink.

Donna - Your group of gal pals sound like a lot of fun. Have a great weekend. Watch out for the headaches.

My weekend won't be quite as exotic. Soccer tournament with a bunch of almost 13 yr old boys.

I'd LIKE to join the drinking crew but so I seem to have a throat issue. Wine and 'ritas (my two favorites) burn the back of my throat going down. Oncologist looked at it and saw nothing. I'm getting yet another chest xray to rule out lung problems (also have this weird cough). He also thought it might be dur to acid reflux (have indigestion problems from chemo).

So - I'm up to suggestions of things to try!! I thought maybe some of the frozen drinks might go down ok - Frozen 'ritas, Pina Colada, Mia Tia. Any other ideas?? I've got all weekend to try stuff!!

my 13 year old just came home from a friends with JET BLACK hair!!!!!!!! to buffer the new look she put it in these cute little "ellie mae clampett" pig tails...........

Shel, I know how you feel. My now 19 yo daughter has had hair every color of the rainbow. I take a deep breath, tell myself hair is "small stuff" and try not to sweat the small stuff.

Now, me, on the other hand? When I found out I didn't have to have chemo, I dyed my naturally blonde hair red, for the first time in my life. My daugher? Went back to natural blonde. Go figure.

    Pass the vodka...

Probably need something low acidic. Stay away from anything with citrus. Can you do good old fashioned beer?

Haven't tried any in awhile. I tried one during my A/C and it tasted AWFUL (as did just about everything else). So I have a mental block when it comes to beers. Guess it's time to push that block outta the way!!

You know a shot of tequila, with or without lime, always warms up the esophogus.

I say try everything until you find something that works!

During chemo I couldn't drink at all (I tried!) and during rads couldn't even tolerate my fave food tomatoes. My rad onc said it wasn't from rads but shortly afterwards my throat didn't bother me anymore so I think he was wrong! It was always irritated and that was the only 'thing' different in my life. I had a cough, too, and that eventually cleared up after rads. I hope your stuff clears up soon so you can enjoy alcohol again!

Seems to be the bc.org lady's face/complexion is the way it is because she is trying to be "all women", all races & colors? That's what I thought.

    Peggy
PS: I'm here Lini, but am on my way out to a concert...I'll be on tomorrow I'm sure...have a good one!

    :::::waving:::::

I'm here! Sorry, but I was watching a sappy movie on Showtime called Mind The Gap. I couldn't tear myself away from it then of course everything is good at the end and I just HAD to cry! Blech! But it was a good movie I have to say.

Normally I work on Friday's but I'm off both today AND tomorrow. Wow - a weekend off for me! Party on!

You probably alread know that "mind the gap" is a recording that's played constantly at one of the "tube" (subway) stops in London at the major stations. It is to remind you to step over the space from the car to the walk way.
It is exceedingly annoying(but my dtr and I were so tired we kept getting the giggles and laughed so hard and tried to stop, then were crying and laughing!) and they sell socks and tshirts about it all over the tourist shops.

Hope you have a lovely weekend off! I so remember having only one a month off, boy it got drunk out.

    Dotti,

Well, in all of my world travels I've never been to London (!) but the movie did make reference to that phrase coming from there.

Well, drinking tonight and shopping tomorrow! Yea!

last time it took a looooong time!

i should've stayed out of it.........i feel bad now for the new gals reading it, but in a way i hope they are encouraged by the "protective nature" of this safe haven.

i think i'd have stayed out of it till i saw that he calls himself a "reluctant prophet" of God..........now THAT is scary!

time to get my tilapia ready for the bbq.........back to "drinking" girls...........cheers!

I thought I'd check in here to see who I'm drinking with tonight! Cheers, ladies!

I think it may be easier to remove today's interloper because he was more direct in some of what he said in his early posts. The problem last time was that the individual was very careful in his choice of words. Let's hope, anyway.

Today's activities certainly warrant a drink, or two, or three....

Hi ladies. Back from soccer tourney for my son. Finally able to relax. What's on the menu today? See a lot of Troll, but I don't like it so I'll stay away from there.

I do like coffee but not up my .... I remember when I was dx'd my cousin, the nurse warned me about these. She said it never ceases to amaze her how many people go down to Mexico for all those "alternative" tx's. In fact, isn't that where Mrs. MLK, Jr. died? A "center" in Ensenada.

Careful, Peggy. Somebody got worked up the last time we talked about that topic.
