Good Morning ladies, I"M BACK lol. Thank you thank you thank you all for all you said and all the wonderful pics of my leapord outfits YOU GIRLS ROCK and I could not ask for more understanding wonderful women to help me through this.

Well I found a wig yesterday in Calgary. The first place I went to was awful and I left feeling so discouraged and worried that I wouldnt find one. It was a wig shop in the mall and the wigs well they looked like wigs and the lady just kept staring at me like I was going to stuff one of the ugly things in my purse and steal it.PLEASEEEEE did she not see my hair like I would ever put anything on my head that didnt at least match up aarrgggggg. Then when I had a few tears just stood there, said nothing waiting for me to be done, didnt offer a tissue nothing. Needles to say I left there and did not purchase a damn thing.

So they next place I went to I had heard about from one of the canadian women on this site called compassionate beauty taylored to our needs so I called there and got a very nice one, little pricey 450 but my insurance should cover it all. Also got one for under hats. The wig is a tad darker than I wear but looks quite nice with my green eyes at least thats what I am telling myself lol.

Then I went for the MRI well guess all I can say is it wasnt the worst experience ever and it wasnt the best. Very loud like your at a construction site but I guess you all know that.

Kathy glad that surgery went well and you are starting to feel a bit better. Thank you for all your encouragment and support while I was being poopy.

NM just think when your 10 weeks is up I will only have 8 weeks left of chemo. OH and OMG I am switching to Vodka and giving up Rye if that little piece of eye candy comes with ablsolute vodka. And that cartoon of the princess birthday party girl is soooooo me lol

Dorothy, thank you for your prayers, it means so much to me to know that there are women out there who are praying and wanting the very best for me.

Stanzie I am sorry you too are going through a touch time right now guess we shall see what tomorrow brings hey :)

Claire I am glad you are feeling better ( and thank you for the advice you sent to me Wink it helped ease some of my concerns )

Astorm,Beanuis(LOVE YOUR PICs),Goldie, HD(sorry your sick if you feel better please come to canada for green beer on chemo day), Karen, and Chrissy ( dont think I forgot anyone.....oh Anetnut welcome.....Thank you all so much for your care and concern, for being the wonderful ladies you all are and for taking each day as it comes and just putting one foot in front of the other come what may. Hi again, I am keeping food down...yay! But afraid to take a pain pill. Prob was just sick from all the anesthesia, but dang I didn't expect it to last all day and all night. Thank you everyone for being there with me!

Kymn, What a shitty place that first wig place was, and how uncaring she was! That is very upsetting, and something you did not need to experience. Glad you found the other shop, and hope the ins covers it! I didn't know it would,so am happy to hear that. The gal I went to for my 3D nip tatts has a non-profit and has an entire room full of wigs, scarves, etc for bc patients, at no charge. But that would be quite a distance from you! I can picture you with that dark wig, and I bet it does look good with your green eyes! Now watch, you will be disappointed if you DON'T lose your hair....nah, just kidding about that. You can wear them even if you keep all your hair, just for fun.

Well gals, can we make a detour for the bus? We need to head to Junie in AR....she has been in the hospital since Friday or Saturday, and is still having a lot of problems. PLEASE keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!! This is not bc related, but just as serious. Poor dear has been through a lot, these past few months. We can go and see her, then head up to Canada on  Thurs to hold Kymn's hand. Right now though the thought of green beer is nauseaus to me, so I may forgo that this St. Pat's Day.

Take care, and I hope you are making it thru today HD, and also that you are making it thru clinicals NM, that you are totally well Claire, that you can stay awake Dorothy, that you are keeping the fam crap far away from you Beans, that you are well Karen, that you can help your DD with school decisions Gail, and that you can console your son Stanzie.  Dee where are you? Chrissy are you doing ok today? Lori, hope your allergies are under control. I know I am missing some of you galz, but I blame it on the meds!

    Ciao, Kathy

wahine - So glad you are bouncing back and keeping food down - hurray!! Hope you are not having too much pain, I dint take the pain pills either, just tylenol a few times, but my surgeries were pretty simple and not too deep so dint have much pain. After 1 MRI biopsy and 2 Mamo biopsies and 3 surgeries my whole bust/chest looked like a battlefield, though, really looked awful for a while with all the bruising. Sure hope yours just heals right up and looks beautiful in no time and no bruises!!! Darn I'm hoping green beer will sound good by Thurs for St Pats!

junie - we are detouring the bus and heading straight your way to hold your hand. You are in my prayers, sweet junie, hoping for a speedy recovery as it's almost time for green dog beers! Get well quick!!!

    detour

Kymn - Glad to hear you found something that will be comfortable for you, it sounds beautiful, and that the MRI went okay. The bus is heading up to Canada right after we stop in to visit junie, so we'll be there for sure by Thursday. You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers too as are all our HTL hotties!

NM - You must be having one of those long days today...hope you're doing well.

Thinking of you all with best wishes, now going to the pool for some more gin fizzes, those were really good on the bus! No snow by the pool, sun is shining and Pants has a tray loaded up, who will join me??? Hugs to you all!

Beans, I will join you by the pool, but you will have to drink doubles as I can't dwink yet. Will that be hard for you to do? LOL. Sun does feel nice, and Pants is fanning me with a large palm frond.....so relaxing...just what the dr ordered. LOVE your detour sign....hilarious! Hey, you keep changing your byline (signature)....I can't keep up!!!

Glad you made it thru the MRI ok, Kymn. I hate that noise too.....but more than that I get claustrophobic even with the "open" MRI's....just hate them. Good that is behind you!

Thinking of Junie.  Did not have a good feeling about things when didn't see her on this board.

Glad you are feeling better Kathy.  Yes, it does take some time to process out anesthesia.  I had very light for my lumpectomy, but do remember post wisdom teeth.

I haven't been lucky enough to have an MRI yet as they didn't do scans.

Loving that "detour" sign Beans.  I think they have borrowed the format for "traffic diversion" here in Seattle.

Got another email from my friend's husband.  Apparantly, he hasn't figured out that he is about one century off in his impressions of the NW.  This one was about the need for radiation pills.  Believe it or not, they do monitor these things here.  These things drive me nuts.  But nothing like the 5:30AM phone call.

After this nonsense, I am ready for a couple of tall Rose's limes* with a 4:1 ratio of gin to lime! - Claire

    * Understand it helps with a cough too.

just a quickie here as I am at work.....very sad to read that Junie is back in the hospital. I will be praying for a speedy recovery. Damn, that is not what I wanted to hear.

Kymn, I am glad you found a lovely wig and I feel like punching out the woman at the first shop that starred you down.  I guess she does not know who your friends are else she would have not tried that.

Kathy, nice to see you, sorry about the upset tummy.  i will be glad to drink your share but will sure miss you at the bar.

All you girls have a great night.  I will try very hard to stay awake for American Idol tonight.  I overslept again today.  Time change is never easy on this sleepy gal. Cheers to all!!

Beans.....took a piece from your book and told friend's husband not to send any more "scare stuff" on the reactor piece.  "One small particle and you're finished."

I guess the good news is that he wasn't bright enough to send me cancer stats last year.  Thank goodness for small favors.

    So worried about Junie.

Windy, rainy, nasty, and thundering outside.  Think time to start drinking, but only mid-afternoon.  At least I won't be noticing the difference in daylight today, as has been dark all day.

Another round......it didn't work Frown  Got an email back on the importance of being "informed".

Actually very sad.  A scared guy who feels his "best years" are over.  And guess what????  It's true.  Unfortunately, he wants the rest of us to share in his misery.  Count me out.....

(Just remembered his "evils of cycling at our age" campaign.  Guess who weighs less.)

Which reminds me that I need to get the scoop on my (younger!!!!!!) sister and husband who are selling their dream vacation house on a golf course and looking at "retirement living".  I just know they could update you on all the railings and other "mobility impaired" features for your mountain cabin, because you can never plan too soon for this.

My own take is that I may need these features one day, but no need rushing things.  The designs will be different by then anyway.

Now to get into skiing form again......  - Claire

Claire, Funny about your younger sis wanting to prepare for old age! When we first got the townhouse for my parents here, and were trying desperately to find the main bedroom on the first floor, WE were mistaken. Because even in their 90's, they handled the stairway very well with their bedroom upstairs! But now the home on the lake for them is all on one floor I, for one, am relieved as I always worried about them falling down the stairs. But your sibling is TOO YOUNG for that!!! LOL. Surprised your "friend" is so concerned about WA getting the radiation....no one mentions Hawaii very much, it is usually the West Coast. But with the imminent meltdowns, even my DH wondered if my parents might want to come back here sooner, just in case. So sad with all happening in Japan, and then for those that are worried in the US, about it affecting them. Auwe!

wahine - Oh goodie, just means more dwinkies for me, thanks for handing yours over. Love your St Pat avatar!!

Claire - LOL at the mobility impaired features in my cabin! It will be a long time before you would ever need that stuff, if ever! I'm sorry you keep getting bombarded with a lot of crap today, reminds me of some of the fam bs I was getting bogged down with. Have you decided to change the picture in your bathroom? What other kinds of art prints do you have? And what's for dinner tonight? I'm making pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw and some beautiful merlot! Why don't you buzz on by and join me? We can dwink up all of wahine's green beer too!!!

It is so hard to comprehend what is going on in Japan. My heart goes out to the people.

I have a lithograph from a woman I did some work for when in grad school.  Then I have a few prints.  My two prized possessions are two tapestries.....one an Italian silk one of a Baroque mythological scene, and the other a Belgian wool copy of a Cluny tapestry which I snagged for $50 on eBay (hidden amongst the dross).

Being single, I can do more nudes than I would most likely do otherwise.  I still have a painting of my neighbor's up, but needs to come down as represents my darker days, and he tried to undermine me professionally once I was past active treatment.  I need to find something nice to hang in its stead.  I want bright and sensual.

I forgot to comment on silver.  I have my great aunt's sterling tea set.  So fun to use on occasion.  I still need to do scones and a proper cream tea.  Need company or I will eat all the scones, and we all know that is not a good thing.

Speaking of "good things" did anyone catch the "Wills and Kate" pies?  I was particularly taken with the "pear, chocolate, and rum" one.  That would ge wonderful with tea as well.

I have really pretty Sheffield plate silverware from my wedding.  Makes any meal extra special.  Use mostly for company.

Having the rest of the lamb shank with veggies and wild rice for dinner.  And yes, some good red wine.  Lamb shank is dead easy to make.  Put slivers of garlic in pot, put in lamb shanks, sprinkle on rosemary (I pinch fresh from the bush across from Safeway), and put in about an inch of white wine or vermouth.  Cook at 350 for about 2 hours.

I am not changing the pictures in my bathroom.  Just adding.  So the Klimt and an Erte print which I got as thanks for my neighbor and he returned when we had the blow last year.   His loss.  I have a cool shower curtain showing French scenes. - Claire

Speaking of nude paintings. Gotta share this one. My mom usually paints in oils, and does beautiful work. I am so thankful to have some of her paintings. But the most interesting thing she did, is a charcoal on canvas of a polynesian "nude". At least the picture she painted from was nude, but she added the slight hint of a sarong, so no nudity is showing! And it is huge...at least 40"x40"...has a place of honor on the landing above the foyer. I told her when we bought the house from her that she had to leave that for us, as it is in the perfect place to be viewed! She has an even bigger Chinese Empress she painted that she wants to bring here, but sounds like it will cost a small fortune to ship. Anyway, I am REALLY missing my Pau Hana dwinks with you galz......soooooo thirsty.....but so not wanting likker or wine, etc! Enjoy!

Oh Kathy, so sorry you can't drink. Claire, Beans and I are more than happy to drink your share but would rather be toasting with you. We are all giggling about the prospect of nude paintings of us. I said that my artist would take twenty pounds off me and make my body young and scar-free.  Of course, I have a perfect set of girls in my portrait too. Claire's nudie would have her in ski's on the cold slop on a beautiful mountain with a colorful sunset. And Beans, her portrait is a caricature of the jolly green giant clad in htl form, ie pink leopard uggs, hat, scarf, jacket etc... lol.

Still thinking about Junie and praying for a speedy recovery. Poor Junie has endured so much and is very much missed here. Back to the chapel I go....then to the bus, I am in. Busy week for us for sure.

I think it is NM's long day. Hope it is going smooth and fast for you.

And oops, no American Idol tonight, I am dumb, thinking it is on tues and wed as in past years. I am just not right sometimes.

Hello Goldie, Stanzie, G-Storm, Chrissy, Kymn, HD, Karen....join in the fun.Let's celebrate that it is no longer Monday.

Ok, the bus is here, got to rollll, cheerz friends!!  Take care Kath, so nice to see you, hugz!!!

Sorry Kathy. I was also looking for the start time because if it was two hours, I would have recorded it just in case I passed out again.

Kymn, did not mean to bump in to you but nice to see you.  I am on the bus heading to Missouri, I think.  Come on at, join me.  Kymn, it is okay that you smell like rye.  As long as the onc doesn't, all is well :) I hope all goes easy as can be for you. And yes, I will hang out by the hot tub but darn darn darn, I still can not get in. I had a beautiful bubble jet tub installed last year and have been in there only a few times between surgeries, seems I am always healing. Oh well, such is life.  I wil see you on Thursday, with bells....

Going to Atlantic City on Sunday through Tuesday, The Price is Right (or wrong bitch lol) is just a week from tonight and I am getting excited.  I had a friend post of facebook that she had a friend who won a trip to Vegas and also a karoake player when the show came to AC last year!! I am hoping to hear my name.  DH would be mortified if he got called up, he is not as excited. It is his birthday on Sunday.  It should be fun for us. Counting down the days.....

Dorothy, We are heading to Arkansas for junie....then to Canada for Kymn, but not sure if anyone here is in Missouri. We'll make sure our hunk of a bus driver has a good map! I am so excited about your Price is Right trip! Will it be televised too? If so, be sure to let us know when you know the date. What an exciting weekend....sure HOPE you get picked!!!! What did you decide to wear? And maybe you will have some luck in the casinos too. I really wanted to go to Tunica on Friday, but highly doubt I will be up for it. I was wondering why my throat was so sore....blaming it on the person that stuck the breathing tube down my throat...till I rememberd all the upchucking....sure that contributed to it!

Funny post beans! I also like the idea of the artist painting us all as beautiful nudes......and taking a few pounds off at the same time. I think you and Dorothy thought of that while dwinking by the pool?

    Hoping to SLEEP tonight!!!

Chrissy, I posted while you were posting, and just saw yours. Hate to hear that about your blood pressure. Hope you can get it down (or up) where it should be. Not fun to feel drunk without the fun of drinking! Take care of yourself, okay?

Dorothy.....jealous about the tub.  Your day will come though.  Remember to make it a special occasion with low lights, candles, flowers, and champagne.  DH optional.

I am inspired to find more nudes for my apartment.  This is dangerous.  Probably a good thing I haven't asked Main Squeeze for comments on the "art work".  Then again, these aren't the nudes he is fancying.

(Reminder to get hide moving once I feel better.)

I realize now that they do sell frames the right size for my Klimt print so glad I didn't just make do.  Will look ever so much better with the right frame.

Reprise of last night's dinner tonight with added bonus that I don't need to cook.

Major victory in ridding my computer of unwanted software that refused to uninstall itself.  YAY!!!

Since the "scare Claire to death" campaign refused to work, GF's husband has moved on to the topic of rent hikes.  So really was a control issue after all as I suspected.

Need to find out if St Paddy's Day is on.  Friend Amanda has had the same thing but a few days ahead of me.  She is still dragging.  Reminder for anyone in need that corned beef in hard cider is dead simple, and delish.

Meanwhile, bottomZ and titZ up. - Claire

Wahine....glad to hear that you are feeling better....I complained to a friend who is an anesthesiologist that the anesthetics make me sooo very sick....and she said NO, its the narcotics.....and you know I think she is right.....after my last 2 wrist surgeries, I told them no narcotics in the recovery room and I did better....I can't take the narcotics and they bind me up so bad....after my first fix post exchange, I was so bound up 4 days post surgery, i looked 6 months pregnant and ended up in the ER.

I'm sorry to hear that Junie is back in the hospital... I too wondered where she was when I didn't see posts, but didn't think hospital

Kymm....glad you found a wig you liked....I spent 350 on mine 5 years ago and I think I wore it 10 times...its still sitting on the foam head in my closet.....can't bring myself to give it away, but would never ever wear it again......

I have to share a funny story that my gf posted on fb.....evidentally, silicone from implants is not safe to eat!!!

A huge snake which bit a model's surgically enhanced breast later died from silicone poisoning.

Israeli model Orit Fox was posing with the snake at a photoshoot in Tel Aviv when it suddenly turned on her.

She was holding the boa constrictor and went to lick its head when it suddenly tired of the attention and latched on to her left breast.

Footage of the incident on Spanish TV channel Telecino has notched up nearly a quarter of a million hits on YouTube.

As the snake bit Fox, a man rushed over to help her and remove the snake from her breast.

The model was taken to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera, northwest of Jerusalem, but later released after a tetanus shot and a few hours of observation.

But the snake did not fare so well. Days later, Telecinco reported that the creature had died of silicone poisoning.

Fox is regarded as Israel's version of Katie Price and has undergone several operations to enlarge her breasts.

DD is watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.....forgot how good a movie it is.....

Will be waiting for the bus tomorrow.....left many out, but you are still in my thoughts....sweet dreams.....

we sure are chatty today! Sorry to hear about Junie. Happy that you are feeling better, Kathy. Nice that you found a wig, Kymn. I had a bad experience shopping for bras after my reconstruction and I haven't been back to Victoria's Secret since. I found that the fitters at Nordstrom are properly trained and conduct themselves professionally.

I found a new way to have bourbon... made a fat-free caramel sauce with bourbon and vanilla and served it with grilled pineapple, frozen yogurt and a little coconut.

Good Morning Loungettes! Guess I'm the first one at the bar this morning. Couldn't sleep, so figured I would hang out here. Maybe Pants can figure a way to get me in the hammock and can gently push the hammock and I can get into a deep sleep. Be sure to nudge me when you come in, so we can visit! Got all my stuff packed and waiting for the bus to take us to Arkansas, then Canada. I think Beans and Dorothy already made sure there is plenty of likker on board. Leaving it to Claire to find us a good-looking bus driver. I know the rest of you will provide good drink recipes and lots of laughter and fun! On the Road Again................
