(((Hugs))) Karen....hope you can let it all out....will help so much. I wonder if your body is not letting you cry, because you are (subconsciously) worried about bringing all that pain to the surface? So sad when we lose a beloved pet, and to bring all those feelings back is quite hard. Hoping you can let it out, and then enjoy the birthday celebrations...is that tomorrow? We all love you here, and have your back, so let it loose if you can.

    Hugs,

    Kathy

NM.....Some of my favorite moments as a child were spent helping my father boil sap.  I got to taste the syrup while still warm.  I am so glad you are moving forward with everything.  Hoping you aced the interview.

Kymm.....glad you are still feeling relatively OK.  Think a good decision on virtual tipple for a bit.   Lots, and I mean LOTS of other liquid though.  The hair loss thing is going to happen at this point.  I looked at the whole experience as a way to explore looks I never would have considered otherwise.  For example, I looked great rocking uber short, but less wonderful once it grew out a bit.  Now it looks fab, but not the look I think is "me".

With the sinus infection part of the creeping crud, I have you beat on swollen face.

    Kathy.....enjoy the "me time".

Need to get to the cheap frame place later today and finally frame my print.  Then walk over to World Market and use my buy $30 and get $10 off coupon.  I will use on restocking tea and a few goodies.  Perhaps Scottish Oat Cakes.

    Happy Friday everyone! - Claire

Stanzie-the boss took the news ok. Looked surprised, though. I had volunteered to teach a summer course (extra assignment) and when I told her which of the other faculty also wanted to do it and would probably be willing to take it over she tried to talk me into staying on and doing it. Yeah, right, I'm going to work full time for 7 weeks for $1,200 under these circumstances. DILLIGAF? The summer course is her problem, not mine.  Told my office mate after she came in and found me crying.  Not looking forward to telling the rest of the faculty.

The interview went very well. Two of the three people are people I've worked with at the agency for the last couple of years. The position is a 32 hour, full time, Friday evening to Monday morning, call and home visits position. Weekends isn't my first choice, but I'd be first in line for any week day positions that open up. There's another person interested in the position that they will be interviewing. They've got to do that, and the next step is a peer interview-an interview with some of the staff I'd be working with, also people I've BEEN working with. I've also got a few other applications out, got some time to see what develops. I really appreciate all the support from everyone here! I have a massage every other week, been dong this since last fall. It's amazing how much better I feel emotionally as well as physically after a massage.

Karen-it's so unfair when you need to cry and you can't get started. Have you tried having a drink (in the privacy of your home, of course) and see if that will loosen the barriers and inhibitions? Is there a movie that makes you teary eyed you can rent and watch? Hang in there, it will happen. Keeping busy helps, so there's a reason to be grateful for dust bunnies!

Kymm-Saying prayers you continue to sail through chemo with as little trouble as you've had so far!

Claire-ever pour hot syrup over fresh snow?

    Wahine-LOL!

Congrats on the interview, NM.  Ah yes, sugar on snow.  Boiled down just a tad so it hardens when poured over snow.  Bet the rest of the ladies don't know what you eat with this.

    Sour pickles.

No, I have not been hitting the tipple.  You need pickles to counteract the sweetness.  Reminding me of the days I used to eat it.

We used to do this treat a couple of times during the season.

Good move on turning down the summer school class.  On to paid work.  Just smile on the way out to more $$$$$$

Reminder that I need too use the massage gift I got for Christmas. Off to replenish my tea collection.  Drank enough to drown in over the past 2 weeks.

Hi NM! Love your kewl pics. And so glad the interview went well....we knew it would! Sorry for the tears, but totally understandable. And soooo neat that you got out of the summer school gig....let them find someone else.... $crew them!!!!! Looks like just you and I dwinking right now. OH hi Claire, didn't see you till just now! Where is everyone else? Very quiet here at the HTL. I am not much fun though, just having a diet coke...woohoo!

Beans, Will you still dwink for me tonight? I may try to dwink something tomorrow, as I decided to go on the long trip. Changed my PS appt to Tues, so can spend 2 nites at the casino. Nurse said to get out and walk every hour during the drive there and back, and to wear the compression hose.....yucko on that part! Hope I can find enough stuff to wear w/ all this bruising and stitches. Dinner should be real nice, smaller group than at the cocktail parties last time, and so better chances at the drawing too. *Fingers Crossed*!

Hoping Dorothy will have luck at the casino too, and especially at the PRICE IS RIGHT!!!! Still haven't divulged what you will wear to draw attention; anxious to hear that! Sure hoping you will get picked and WIN bigtime!!!

Hi to all you fantastic chicas, and hoping Friday night is going well for everyone. NM had a good idea about massages, so think I will see if Pants will gve me a good one!!! :)

NM - sorry you had a bad day... kind of wondering why they would waste time/money/stress on a review since you are leaving... sounds a little bureaucratic. That was my big word for the day.

Stanzie - good luck on your house's potential. I'm with you on the movie situation... we didn't have TV and were very selective about what our girls watched at the theatre. They are both avid readers and when they do see a movie it is usually something worthwhile.

Lori - how was the dentist? DH ended up at the dentist this morning with an unplanned root canal. Last night when he was flossing a chunk of his tooth came right off! His dentist was surprised since he had a good checkup and they completely missed the problem.

Kathy - working on any projects? I sent Contractor Bill over to help Beanie and haven't heard from him but I'm sure I could rustle up another one if you need help. Glad you are having beautiful weather but we are having heavy rain. Poor WD had to wee in the rain and didn't like it a bit. I think he needs a new raincoat... like this:

Karen - huh, blow the dust you say? Hadn't thought of that. I used to have this cleaning lady who apparently was bringing a crew into my house and whizzing through in about an hour. When we got home, all the pictures would be crooked... like they were in a wind tunnel...maybe they used a leaf blower or something? My DH will vacuum (all hardwood and tile) and mop the kitchen (the middle of it anyway) if I ask him but not because he realizes it is necessary. No one in my house sees dirt , dust, or disarray!

... maybe if there was a piece of equipment involved he would be more enthusiastic...

Bought a rice cooker on the way home and I could just hear DH reminding me about the juicer I don't use enough so I quickly made some fresh juice - pineapple, pear and a little lime. It is quite yummy but I'm wondering what I could mix it with to turn it into a cocktail. Any ideas?

Yummy Gail, how about adding some vodka! Sorry about your DH's root canal...never know when something like that will happen..glad he was able to get right in! Love WD's raincoat..so cute. We have the opposite problem....my DH wanted to buy me a rice cooker, but I grew up having rice almost every day, so cooking it on the stove is very easy for me. And I sure don't have room for another appliance either. Haven't used our juicer for a couple of yrs! Your drink sounds so good though!!!! No projects now :( cause I am not supposed to move my arms much or pull, push, etc. Feel like an invalid!!!  Let's have Jocks make us some drinks from your juicer!!!!

Hey, WD is well covered with that slicker.  I vote for vodka in the juice also.  I am like Kathy, I cook a lot of rice and can do it pretty much without thinking now that DS is not here to lift the lid.  Kymn, how ya doing?  Hope you are feeling ok.  I did the same thing and cut my hair before number 2.  I had long hair and took it to my chin...then when that started going...i had to buzz it.  Well DH did it.  Had to have a few drinks in me, but it was something I had to do.  My husband doesn't like unclogging the shower or sink!  LOL!  Lori...if you weren't such white trash like me, you would have a nice set of teeth.  Now I am really LOL!  You know I am kidding!  But, as you mentioned, my lip job didn't turn out too well.  I found somebody in town that was set up from his trunk with discounted Botox ingections.  He was really sweet, but I think had he should have stayed with his old business with drugs of another sort.  Junie, I surely hope you are regenerating.  I know you will!  I miss ya here.  Kathy, have fun at the Casino....I hope you and Dorothy win big then we can all meet at Dorthy's woman cave or have a rager in your townhouse Kathy!  NM, you go girl!  I know you will get where you want to be!!  Karen, they say big girls don't cry...that's BS you know.  Everyone here knows how you feel.  I'm sorry you are down.  Stanzie, hope your house gets it's job too.  Extra $ is great. Beans...are you coming for a drink?  Claire...are you doing arts and crafts?  I am headed to the hot tub.  I am sorry but it isn't warm here yet!  Cider House Rules!  HD

P.S.  Was that a drunkardly post or what?

HD - so what is the tin man hat? or did I miss something?

Kymn = hope things stay going well....

NM- Wow that was a long and rough day - telling people is always hard well except for the boss who expected you still to do the summer job. No wonder you had tears - gosh made me tired for you with all that going on. Thank goodness for massages.

Well Kathy will be in the casinos raking in the coins and Dorothy will be guessing correct prices like crazy - how very exciting!

So got a call back from the commercial people. They are coming on Sunday to look and make sure it is what they want. If so it will just be sort of an afternoon and evening of filming. They will build some kind of tree house in one of the trees in the backyard ( I asked - without hurting the tree!) and then filming in one of the kid's rooms - not sure whose yet. There will be about 25 crew with lights and such and may rearrange or bring in furniture and some child models - funny she didn't say actors so they must not have any lines. Anyway, we'll see..... sort of seems like a small step in to see what it is like and to see how intrusive it all is cause they have to bring in power and toilets and food and resting areas I would assume. However, I have always only worked union jobs so it if isn't using actors - don't know? They don't pay much but it would cover my HVAC contract for the next two years so that is something?? My leg is killing me so off to do something about it just wish I knew what.....

HD, Yeah, what is with the tin foil hat? Stumped on that one! Would love to win lots of $$$ so we can partay at Dorothy's woman cave!!! OR our empty townhouse. Hope your mouth straightens out...but I know you didn't get it from some guy on the street...LOL.

Stanzie, that is GR8 that they will film at your house! Can't wait to hear more about it. What is wrong with your leg? Painful? Does it help if you sit for awhile with your leg elevated? I am asking, cause I have probs with my veins....doesn't bring the blood back up very well and can be very painful if I am standing too long. Was supposed to have vein surgery about 3-4 mo ago, but after all the tests I ended up busy, and never scheduled it! Hope you feel better soon!

We haven't had a blow-out partay for quite sometime. Maybe we can get one started for next weekend? Gotta get everyone here. Chrissy, are you doing ok? Hope your b/p got back to normal. Beans, you have been 2 quiet lately. Junie, Hope you are doing better! Karen, is the b'day party tomorrow? Gail, those were yummy drinks!!!

    Okole Maluna!

Hi Kathy - now I'm nervous and have been looking up film web sites on how to protect yourself.

My leg - ugh I guess it is connected with MS - when I was on estrogen it wasn't a problem now it is bad and at times really horrendous. It is nerve pain that shoots down the outside of my leg but get this only when I'm lying down or sitting!!! So guess why I'm not sleeping. The pain can be extremely sharp and the only way to lessen it is to stand and walk for a while.  Well off for pain pills.

Hi girls, sorry about not being around but I'm still fighting this damned blood pressure!  It does not want to come down to a reasonable level and is making me feel like crap!  Just a little pussed off here as you can probably tell.  Been reading but not posting much as it would probably come out sounding like I feel....yuk!...not good!  Hope all those who need healing are healing well, those in treatment I hope you are feeling well, to those who have work issues, I hope all outcomes are on the up side, to those who are just plain feeling shutty, welcome to the club and lets go tie one on so we don't have to feel for a while.....hahahahaha!  Heading for the bar and to hell with blood pressure!

    TITZ UP!!!!!

I finally understand the value of "juicers".

Finally, have the rightr "art" in my bathroom as went out and got the right frame.  Unfortunately, I had to cut down with a utility knife.  All looks just great now.

Mother of one of my close friends is not 87.  It's her birthday today.  She made it back from a double leg fracture about 3 years ago.  Just heroic.

Had to tell jerkweed husband of my old friend to "unsuscribe me" from his latest nonsense.  It was not going to end, and it was a not nice version of control.  He told me "to have a good life".  YAY!!!!

Leftover St Pat's dinner was just great.  YUM!!!!

Have had enough wine to feel just great.  Plus making progress.  Hopefully, I will get to ski or cycle this weekend.  Feeling better................finally.

Stanzie.....hope you get the commercial and megabux for it.  Or at least enough to buy premium brands of tipple.

HD.....had the same thought about the sink/shower.  But mine were that the buiding staff had been wonderful to me, and their reward was floods everywhere.  Plus my poor neighbors. So  I buzzed it at something like Day 19 to control the mess.  This took it back to a lint roller.  So glad I did.  Didn't lose everything until the end though, and was glad at that point to be starting over.

Main Squeeze thought I looked hot anyway.  Think he still likes the "uncluttered workspace".

NM......you will be just fine.  In fact, wealthier and a lot more rewarding future ahead of you.

Will drink.  Reminds me of the lines from the film High Society.  "Let's drink to your health. No let's drink to your wealth."

Have wanted to share this pic since I had my 3D Tatts in Asheville....this was a "fountain" by the carriage house at a B&B we stayed at. It would activate when you walked by....was so funny! Piddle,piddle,piddle.......

Good morning, loungettes!  Seems a little slow in the lounge this morning, maybe everyone is sleeping in?  I gave up trying to sleep in, kept having weird dreams about showing up for a new job and no one there hired me, or the agency had moved and no one knew where to or that I was really miserable in the new job.   Yeesh!  I kept waking up and telling myself that it's just anxiety dreams, and the worse that will happen is that I won't like the job and will find another one!  and I've still got applications out that I haven't heard back from, so it's not like I don't have choices.  Go to sleep, subcounscious!

Claire--good for you for dumping the useless husband of the friend!  Drinks to wealth are indeed in order!

Wahine--that is a great photo of the fountain, and a great fountain idea!  So funny!

Dorthy--there you are!  You are being way to quiet on your leopard print bar stool!  Whatcha dwinking, girlie?

Chrissy--good grief for the blood pressure problems.  Gonna visit the chapel and let the Lord know that I think it's time He fixed that for you, as in RIGHT NOW.  Hope it does get managed very soon.

    DOTD--for Chrissy, an Anti-Hypertension Potion

    1 shot Vodka
    1 splash Curacao
    1 part Pina Colada Mix
1 part (frozen) Strawberry Daiquiri Mix

    Directions
Fill a hurricane glass one-third full with frozen strawberry daiquiri mix. Carefully layer the frozen pina colada mix until two-thirds full. Add a splash of blue curacao on top, and insert a straw. Fill with 151 proof rum.

Awh thanks NM,  the drink sounds really yummy but with 151 proof rum!  Oh my......I think my blood pressure just dropped thinking about it!!!!   That little kitty is just sooooo cute  and I think it's time I got myself a new one as my two old girls don't do much anymore just sleep.......Have some faith in yourself NM, you will do just fine as your abilities are second to none.  Kathy, that fountain is just too funny for words, thanks for sharing.  Dotty, what you up to girl?  you into mischief again? Beans, HD, Stanzie, Goldie, Junie, Kymn, Claire, Karen.....oh my goodness, who have I forgotten this time? ....well to all those not named and those who are, you are cordially (hehe) invited to join me in the lounge so we can check out the DOTD and have a few.  Don't forget, it's Sit-fer-the-day!  Yay!!!   PaNtS....JoCkS!!!  Set 'em up boys and keep 'em coming!   TITZ UP!!!!!

LOL Chrissy as your "Sit-fer-the-day" is exactly what I will be doing for several hours today! First my song will be "On The Road Again", then hopefully "Money,money,money,money.....Money!" Would love to join you in some of those yummy dwinks! And dang it girl, lets get your b/p settled down, ok? Just try not to look at Jocks and Pants too much, and that might help! LOL.

NM, you and I could have talked the night away! I was up for hrs also.....just can't get comfy when I have to sleep in 1 position propped on pillows, on my back...can't even move, so I lay there awake for over 3 hrs till I fell back asleep. No weird dreams though. You can sure tell what is in your sub-conscious every minute!! Oh, on a sadder note, I was looking back at some pictures and saw your dear Snookie. And then was so glad remembering how Sadie came into your life and your heart found plenty of room to love her too! You and Sadie came into each others lives for a reason, and I am so glad she was there these past few days, especially. So glad you have so many job options, as these days some people just can't seem to find anything. My step-dau's boyfriend cannot find a job (so glad they didn't marry!), and the latest idea was to be a bounty hunter. WHAT????? Just what we need, someone to pack a gun at family dinners w/ llittle ones around. NOT!!!!! He has car repair skills, but just can't seem to hold onto a job. Since he is around 15 yrs her jr, ya think he is mooching off of her? Ya think? Anyway, I am just so thrilled that you took the bull by the horns, and drug it by its balls, so to speak!

I'll check in with all you lovely ladies later on. Dorothy, still anxious to hear what you are going to wear. Since you haven't said anything, makes me think it may be your "birthday suit"???? LOL, j/k! Hoping the very best for you, and also that you have a great time in the casino too! Junie wish you were going to meet us in Tunica. I will have to find Hunk by myself....have missed him the past 2 trips. We should post his pic again so the newer gals can see him. Lori, do you still have that pic of him up on the tv screen in the lounge? I can't find it on this puter. But he is HOT! You all have a GR8 Saturday!!!

NM, you are going to do great!

Karen, so sorry you can't have your melt down, and hope it comes soon. We soooooo need those.

Kathy, good luck at the casino and do be playing with that one arm bandit too much. I remember you talking about that fountain, that is hilarious!

Kymn, there is a good chance it will accumulate, but you have 3 weeks to recover in between. So that is good. Drink your water and rest when you feel fatigued, that is very important. I too cut my hair short to start out. Hair started to fall out exactly at 2 weeks, and out came the clippers.

LMAO HD, must be that corn cob pipe! Or maybe the chewin tabaccy! (ewwww, j/k) My mouth looked like yours yesterday. But I like having these white fillings. I have one silver one left on the bottom. Nice do-rag! I'll be your white trash sister, I gotchur back! Avery would join us too. Jaybird has a picture of her in a black do-rag, so cute. I would post if she didn't care.

LOL Stanzie and Tin Man Hat. I assume someone will come along and explain. So sorry about you pain, but exciting about the shoot at your house.

Hmmmm, Kathy thinks it's foil too........maybe I am the one missing something.

Chrissy sorry about the BP, but glad you are showing up and imbibing. I thought I saw you over there in the lounge.

Dorothy, glad you stumbled in here, and didn't drink and drive!

Kathy, as for Hunk on our TV, I don't believe I did that, beyond my capabilities. If I had to guess, I would say it was my white trash sister.

Off to cleaning! Never did have a cleaning a lady. Besides, I am particular and probably would fuss that she didn't do something right.....in other words, MY WAY!

Ok Perhaps it is one of those tin foil antenne so HD doesn't have to pay the high cable and satellite costs - "Just tilt your head this way, Honey!"

Chrissy - So sorry they can't get the blood pressure down - sounds miserable. Are there any natural ways to help it along... I don't know much about blood pressure other than keeping it in the "right range".

Karen - it was really hard for me to tap into all my feelings too. They sort of eeked out over a long period of time which was hard so hopefully things will get easier

Well, if Dorothy does wear her birthday suit then she WILL be noticed now just hope she looks good with those little black rectangles covering stratagic parts! LOL

Claire - you know that saying "Have a good life" Well so when did that get to be a slap in the face comment? I hate that!!! My sister said that to me after she left early when she came to help me after surgery saying I was not grateful enough to her. We have never gotten along and I never asked her to come up and actually tried to get her Not to come. So of course it blew up in my face and I was at fault. Have no idea what I was supposed to have done better - All I did was thank both sisters and prepare everything so they never had to cook or do anything while they were here other than to help me if needed but apparently not good enough. I just wonder how something that should be said as a good thing, something so benign come back so hateful. And hey why can't you decided what opinions you want to hear? Why should he take offense - seems a bit defensive and touchy as in he doesn't have anything to actually support his opinions!

So everyone I have talked to said I should be way better compensated if they are coming to do this filming. Now not totally sure they have asked me?? I know WHAT? I mean I think they have and it sounds like it but I looked on their website and they have a list of choices so mabye they are still deciding? I don't think so though.... I am so rambling today... Anyway, the friends who had the Jennifer Garner movie at their house, well he is a lawyer and he said he would help me negociate - is that correct spelling -?? where oh where are you spell check...

Anyway that would be lovely!!! So Goldie - off to "try and clean" This is not my strong point as I'll get going and can do a great job but then I'll be totally wiped out for several days - it hits me later and hits me hard so I dread doing it. Wish I could find a housekeeper but so far no luck. OK, off to doing something.

Oh, has anyone heard about that 3-D Peter Pan show? I got discounted tickets to go last night ! Hope it is actually good.

Oh one other thing, heard about the Musical.. ..Greyson got Master of Ceremonies meaning he has one line introducing The Hot Box Girls - so dread telling him..... :(

Awwwwwww poor Greyson. But I hope he will make the most of that line, with his head held high! And try again next time, as there should be many more opportunities.

Thanks to Lori for finding Hunk's picture! He really is a pit boss, and posed with junie and I. Now all you other loungettes know why Tunica has such a calling to me and junie...LOL. SO, HD did that pic? You all are so talented, I never know who does what. But again, thanks so much for digging it out and posting it.

Well, waaaaay late, still getting ready to go...wanted to brush the dogs, etc (boy that was hard!). My classmates in HI are getting together for a big dim sum lunch today and may call me during the get-together. Now they prob will wonder if I really had surgery since I will be out-of-town...LOL. But I do feel better today, and will take LOTS of walking breaks on the trip. You all be good!

Just getting up and reading everything.

NM.....can understand the dreams.  I get them about working/money, but never about cancer.  Interesting.

Thanks everyone for your comments about friend's husband.  Time to stop this jerkweed.  Just insulting, after a certain point.  At least, he wasn't around with "advice" when I was being diagnosed.  For him, the world is a terrifying place with everyone's dreams getting shattered by evil forces.  Unfortunately, he has a need to share.  No thanks.

My own need is to live in a world of excitement, sunlight, and hope.  This includes having a bathroom with racy prints in it.

Did I mention the sun is out today!!!

The most wonderful news is that they are finally starting to stabelize the reactors in Japan.  I was hoping they would.  As for the news about radiation in the food supply over there.  YAWN..... I mean, what do you expect?  The real heroes are those 50 men who stayed behind to try to find a solution to the meltdown.  That is amazing courage, for which we can all be grateful.

Need to get going as severely underexercised at this point.  Still dragging, but will feel better if I get my hide out there.  Will rejoin the PAR-TAY later.  BottomZ up. - Claire

Hi everyone....I just had a sentimental journey...humming with the melody!   I was reading back the old posts when I started.  I am an Idyut!  I miss CAZ, I miss Stormy1, Jaybird, Dee.  I love all the new flock here too.  It was just so emotional.  What a time we have all had!  Stanzie...you made me LOL today.  Great tin foil hat theory!  You are spot on.  I am however protecting myself from possible Electromagnetic Radiation....LOL!  I won't be wearing it long.  Someone else on bco suggested I put one on.  Hope everyone is having a great day.  Beans...pick me some Fukitol up too please.  HD
