Dorthy - Now that everyone will have their laundry dun lets finish packing mass quantities of likker on the bus for our two trips this week. I would be happy to ride that bus to AStom's DD's school to straighten that wicked idiot out! LOL hope his dick stops working!! Then we'll git on over to AL to be with wahine. Get ready for some
ALABAMA SLAMMER COCTAILS! WOOOOOOO!
Ingredients
- 1 oz Southern Comfort
- 1 oz Amaretto
- 1/2 oz Sloe gin
- 1 dash Lemon juice
Directions
Pour all ingredients (except for lemon juice) over ice in a highball glass.
Stir, add a dash of lemon juice, and serve.Glad your DD got to London safely! Good advice to wahine to have a great big meal before hand. Oh, those GS cookies are good, I haven't had them in years, no one comes around my place in the boonies. Sorry your high school friend got the rat bastard dx, that's neat you can be with her though and a feel good gift would be nice... at bodyshop.com, my SIL got me some Moroccan rose body butte, lotion and goodies, smells so good and in a pwetty pink containers, just a thot!
NM - Good for you to not bend to the pressure of low standards...you are amazing to have gotten so much work done already toward making a change! Half dozen applications already - Wow! Awesome! That's a good way to look at it too, if you are working harder than the students, something is wrong. I'll drink The Good The Bad and The Ugly any day of the week - works for me...such funny cartoons, and too true! LOL at the cure for sore throats!

Education - Keeping resumes one page long.
Thank youClaire - Every day I don't see aunt flo is a good day, it's been almost 7 months!!! Yipeee!!! Sure hope you are feeling better.
Wahine - asti champs and peach schnapps sounds good, it does seem like a good time to celebrate, NM is just so awesome and doesn't miss a beat! On the cabin...I talked to the builder and emailed him the plans, so now it's wait and see if he will call back. You know how contractors can be...well this guy was recommended by someone we trust so we have our fingers crossed. In these rural areas you just never know, at least this one actually had a business card. We wouldn't be able to start now anyway since the ground is still frozen. In the meantime I'm going to do what a can toward getting building permits from the county. I can't wait to have it up for a summer bash with all you girls!! Yippee!!! That will be so fun!!!! We will be there with you tomorrow wahine and I promise we'll keep quiet and be so small the PS wont know we're there. And yes we will have a zillion teeny tiny likker bottles with us!!! I'm so glad your nose is better today, I was wondering if you'd hafta cancel surgery. I sure will miss you and will be looking forward to when you can tell us all about it!
AStorm - what an excellent punishment for the bad man, exlax and locked in a room with parents and peers until he sh*ts!!! OOOOOOOOOOO wickedly devine plan of revenge! Glad you are making him sweat!
Chrissy - hi there! Hope your coffee was tastee and that you'll be in the mood for something stronger soon.
Stanzie - Symphony of the Chieftons sounds beautiful - I love Irish dancing and bag pipes!!! Yeah the news from Japan continues to be so awful. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families and friends. So heartbreaking.
Karen - hugs to you! Sure hope your DD gets well soon and again good luck with the GS cookie sale.
Goldie - Darn I'm so sorry the allergies are messin you up so badly...sure hope that clears up soon! Thanks for the encouragement on the cabin. I really think DH and I have it figured out, now just finding a builder who will do it...this rural area has some unusual folks to try to deal with. Some are excellent and others are "beware!" LOL at the sneeze cartoon, so funny and so true!
Kymn - thinkin of ya and hopin alls okay!!!
Have a great Sunday, ya'll!!!
CHEERS!

Morning loungettes! Or, afternoon I guess... that was quick.
Beanie - can you send laundry man over to help me fluff and fold when you're done with him?

Hi Ladies
Beans.......could use the TP device, but think I am starting to get past that point. Still dragging. So odd not to be out doing something strenuous. My friend who is a dancer hasn't been to ballet class either. She is about 5 days ahead of me.
Normally, I could use a bit of "folding" from that laundry man, but think I will give it a miss this time.
Your remark about "rural areas" reminds me of getting help in Northern New England. You often have to work around their schedule of important things: fishing season, planting season, hunting season, snow plowing season, sugaring season. Agree though that probably a month too early to start anything.
NM.....think you have it under control. You can move into a temp assignment until what you like emerges. Suspect you can even be a bit picky. Think you have earned this one.
Love the one page resume.
Very funny story from Northern Vermont. They had 24-30" of snow this past week, which needless to say, raised havoc getting places. One per diem x-ray tech at the hospital where my friend works (she got there after plowing herself out, and yes, she has a Subaru) gave up trying to dig out her car and traveled the 1.5 miles via SNOW SHOES!!!
Need to get some more honey, and perhaps some soup. Still not hungry. I did look at the long term forecast and skiing should be good next weekend. So I am hopeful. And I have to do work tomorrow whether I want to or not.
So strange too not to want wine. I MUST be down for the count. - Claire

This time change is messing with me....I'm tired!!! and now at going on 3, I'm ready for lunch....why can't we keep the clocks either daylight or standard time and no more switching....Hawaii, Arizona and parts of Indiana have it right.
DD is feeling better today....the booth sale was the slowest one we've done of the 3....sold 98 boxes total....were hoping for a bit more than that....DD need 46 boxes to get to the next prize level...she got 33...oh well, she still did great this year.....
I've read all the posts, but can't remember who said what....Glad the DD got to England safely....and Claire hope you're feeling better...NM....are you going back into nursing? Will yoju continue to teach as well? Chrissy how are you doing? and Junie? Mawhine, Stanzie...and I've plum forgotten anymore names.....Time to get off the computer and think about doing something productive......Hope to be back tonight!!! Hugs,

Will be back when I am feeling a bit better and can read through all your posts and catch up.

I'm going to stay in nursing. I'm probably going to go back to home health care, I've all but got a job doing that now with the agency I do per diem work. I would love to continue to teach, but the current program doesn't have any place for part time or occasional teaching, it's kind of full time or nothing. One thing I've come to realize is that therer are more and more exceptions to our requirements and standards than instances when we enforce them. When I sat down and looked at each complaint, each one came out of a time when I enforced a standard or requirement; now my boss is telling me that I shouldn't have been so strict. OK, I'm not perfect, and I make mistakes, and I fall short sometimes but I can't see the point of standards if they are not going to be held to. I'm not sure I can be part of this kind of system anymore. Besides, I really could use the big pay increase that will come from going back to hands-on nursing. I can make half again the money I am now in a part time position. Between being financially strapped all the time and not sure what I can and cannot evaluate students' on, it's pretty clear this is not the place for me. Anyway, I had a long talk with a friend and mentor after church, she's given me some great support and lots of encouragement, and reminded me not to cut all my ties too soon, and I feel better, enough that I actually fell asleep watching a movie! At least I'm not crying all the time now.
So, time to float in the pool with a dwinkie, and have the tenders put a movie in to play on the BIG flat screen over the pool. Maybe this would be a good time to put on Salt? Pants! Over here, please!

Have been there Kymm. You will feel better once on the train and you start to check off the treatments. You are entitled to be in a major funk.
Feel better. (And stay away from anyone coughing and sneezing. Trust me, you don't want this virus.) - Claire

NM....sounds like a no brainer to me. I know all about the being strapped for cash bit. I think you have a much easier time of it when able to have something like a lobster dinner occasionally. I am sure that the poor dears have never been critized in their lives, so can't take the "mental stress" of having to do something as it should be done. They will have to learn that the hard way later on. Hoping no patient dies in the process.
Try to plan something fun to do when your teaching assignment is over. Then onwards and upwards. Money and having some breathing room are important.
Glad you had a talk with a friend after church. These things help. I am suspecting too that your teaching experience will be helpful when you go back to nursing work. Suspecting too that you will be doing some serious mentoring.
All sounds like very good news to me. - Claire

Hi girls, Beans that Alabama Slammer sounds sooo good, but pic didn't show up for me. Your other pics did though....so cute. Esp like the idea of the tp on the head for instant kleenex! Can't wait for you all to get here.
Kymn, Glad you popped in. Understandable to have lots of worry and stress right now. Don't worry about trying to catch up! Someone told me that a couple of wks ago when I was so behind (or last week?), and that helped, as I don't know how I was going to find time to read back several pages. So that goes for you too! Remember all the galz will get to you soon on the bus.....after they make sure my PS does my surgery right!
I was fine until an hr ago, working at the townhouse. Finally got the doorknob changed so all the locks have the same key, but wasn't up to cutting the holes for the deadbolt...this is just the door from laundry room to garage, so not too important there. That can wait! But had lots of errands I really needed to do today. Have to cancel those as I also have lots to do at home b4 tomorrow. So I guess that is getting me sorta down. Wanted to have more done. Plus, my back has been in pain and spasming....the darn tylenol does not do as good a job as the mobic I had to stop taking 2 wks ago for surgery. It will be happy hour soon so maybe I can drown my sorrows in some champagne. Hope those bubbles will numb the pain!
Ciao,
Kathy

AStorm - Sending laundry help your way!
Claire - Just hoping you get well quickly so you can go skiing again soon.
Karen - time change is always annoying, but since we're springing forward that means happy hour is sooner!
Kymn - I am so sorry you are feeling down and it's totally understandable. I so wish I could take the fear out of it, myself I just remember trembling and crying every day, so I hate seeing you go through this!! So much to come to terms with and just hang in there. I just understand so well and if you need me I'm here to hold your hand! Don't worry about reading everything and catching up, just pop in and rant away whenever about whatever is on your mind. Hey, I found another cool thing you might like to wear...hugs to you!!!
NM - So glad your friend was a good support to you. Sounds like you're getting an excellent game plan underway!
Wahine - Oh I hope you aren't getting nervous. I know how frustrating it is to have a whole list of things to get done and not finish. But you will have time again soon. It must be Pau Hauna time soon and can I sit with you for a Seagrams & Diet? Thinking of you and I'll see ya soon on the bus!!!
Love and hugs to you all!!! Happy Hour is almost here!!! Ye-Haw!!!

HI Beans, *pouring some champagne*....here ya go! Gotta drink the champagne tonight as I know I won't get any tomarra! So please dwink some wid me. OMG you are getting as bad with your camera as junie is with her pencil and notebook! LOL. Didn't know you would take a pic of me with my butt crack showing. Sheesh girl! Fun pictures!
Kymn, Beans is so right. I did not have chemo, so can't even comprehend how scary it might be. But Beans did real good, and we were there right along with her. Just try to picture all your breast friends here, coming to you on the bus, getting teeny tiny with tiny mugs of green beer! Prolly get confused for leprechauns! Hang in there!
Yummmmm champagne is going down sooooo smooth. Where is everyone else? Wish Claire and Lori were feeling better. Seems like someone else is under the weather? Remember likker is good for whatever ails you!
Salante!

Thanks for letting me borrow your laundry man! That's a super-handy snot wiper you foind too. Hey, is that your toosh in the tights?
NM, as someone who has been in the patient role quite a bit, I find myself contemplating whether or not my DD should be a nurse. It is hard for me to imagine any teenager I know having the compassion or respecting protocol (i.e., standards) necessary to administer sympathetic and appropriate care to patients. Sadly, there are many young people today who are not too interested in "education". What many students I went to school with just a couple of years ago wanted was to get through school as painlessly as possible while coasting on trust funds. It is amazing how much more respectful and sympathetic my DD has become toward people who are doing their job since she has actually has a job.
Claire - Hope you feel better soon. Inthe meantime, I'll drink some wine for you... or better yet I just remembered that there is still a couple of servings left of the pitcher of pomegranite cosmos I mixed up last weekend. gotta get my antioxidants...

My DD #2 is turning 13 on Saturday. She is having a few friends over for lunch after synagogue....BUT her dream party, that she has been plannig for months, is not turning out how she planned...it is the start of spring break and so far 3 of her bff cannot come.....it was going to be on the 20th, but that is Purim, a Jewish holiday (festive, not religious) so it is the 27th...she is in tears......she's been planning this party in her head for months and months....a scavenger hunt in the mall!!!!! I feel so bad for her....and she's trying to figure out a sleepover with one of her friends to celebrate their b'days and its not working......So hard to be 13!!!
The earthquate, tsunami and now nuclear power plant failure is sooo tragic....its hard to fathum the depth of this tragedy.....
Time for a few good drinks her in the HTL....bring them on.....we can always drink here even if we can't in real time.....Hugs, Karen

wahine - I'm missing you at the bar and can't wait to hear from ya again!! Hugs to you!
Karen - good words to Kymn, it's so effed up and all you want is to tell her it's okay to be pussed off and yell about it and cry about it!!
AStorm - glad you got your laundry done - ha ha!
Dotty - hope you can stick around longer next time - love hearing from you.
To all you HTL hotties I'm sending out big hugs and lots of dog beers!!! Happy Sunday and have a fantastic week!!!

Move over girls, I'm heading for the pool and if you don't wanna get wet..........I'm about to do a bomb into the water........SPLASH!!!!!!.......hahahaha! who did I get? I'm in a bit of a mad mood today... a little restless...ya know? Kathy is there any more of that champas available? oh yes please one for me! Oh my, I did read everyone and now I've come to answer I can't remember who did what........waaah!
Loving all the pics and the pink leopard?.....wow! need those booties Kathy, they look so cosy and soooo pwetty! Good luck with your surgery tommora I'll be holding your hand as they take you to theatre.
Beans, was it you that did the don't hold the sneeze?......whohahaha! ROFLMAO at that one. I can so relate, that's just what it feels like when you try to hold a sneeze. Nope, just reread and it was Goldie. Oh I just realised you posted the hunky laundry man.....excuse me while I go and make some laundry so he can call on me! I like the fact that he brings his own scrub board.....mmmmm....check out them abs!
NM loved your chicken soup and on ya girl for possibly heading into something that will make life more comfortable for you!
(((((Kymn))))) where you are at is not a nice place, but take it from someone who has been around for quite a while baby, it does get better. Just remember one step at a time, one day at a time.
Dotty, will you slow down girl, you're like a whirl wind you just about knocked me over! Glad to hear the DD arrived safe n sound. Are you having flooding in NJ? Hope you are safe!
Karen, hope your 13yr old manages to organise things to her satisfaction. I would truly hate to be 13 again, such a hard time with everything going on for girls.
Astorm, really sorry that you DD had to be exposed to that sort of abuse.....what he did was truly not called for......sounds to me that he was too full of his own power. Hope he gets his comeupence. Good on you for following through!
Stanzie, I'm with you girl on the why can't we just stop all the crap of wars etc and learn to live together in harmony. Unfortunately, those who crave power for whatever reason do not know how to do that and they are our leaders....Ugh!
Goldie, oooo yuck! Hayfever! Hope you get some relief soon! Just realised the connotation of the pic I thought was posted by Beans. I agree, that's exactly how you feel sometimes.
Claire, you are still under the weather? Oh my, that's gotta be some bug to hang around this long and knock you down so far! Hope it starts to ease and you start to fell better soon.
Not sure if I've missed anyone.....sawrry if I have, I promise to catch up next time.
Now that swim was such fun but now I need to rest in one of the hammocks and get the boys to give me a rub down and a drink......I think the Alabama Slammer sounds just perfect! PaNtZ! JoCkS! TITZ UP!!!

Beans, I am back. I guess the three hour nap I had is keeping me awake. Thanks for the beers and the hugs, sending some back to you missy!! And you have a great week too.
Kymn looks adorable in her pink leopard wear. I just love jacket and the special edition of Uggs, made just for her.Kymn, you not have three chairs in the lounge, one at the bar, another at the pool and another in the chapel. Maybe Goldie can reupholster the pews in pink leopard, how awesome would that be???
Below is a pic of our TTL chapel for Kymn to see, I wish I had pics after our htl decorators (Lead Designer, Goldie) and hot landscapers finished up. The guy standing there is named Art, he is our HTL architect and is Jock's cousin-in-law. Anywho, I am going to step in and say a prayer that you wake up tomorrow, you will feel grateful that you are alive and well instead of dreadful over what lies before you, Kymn, you can do it! Amen.
I am portending again that tomorrow is not monday and it is not 10:26 pm. Because I can!!

NEWS FLASH: Claire drinks wine, starts a real dinner, rejoins the living!!
I couldn't stand it any more, and realized that I needed to eat some real food. So have wild rice a-simmering, salmon out for broiling, and rescuing some baby bok choy which I will supplement with a bit of kale. This should get my body moving once again.
But wowsers. This one really kicked my butt.
Now, just to let Main Squeeze know that he is no longer safe
0 -
Yay Claire!
Beanie - thank you, thank you, thank you! He's sssssso good... at laundry... nothing sexier than a man who does laundry!
0 -
But the real question is will he iron?
Claire so glad you are back to the land of the living eating and especially drinking! Boy I'm thinking you give that main squeeze a run for his money! Growl.....
Kymn you and Wahine will be decked to the 9"s in all that pink leopard but I'm really thinking those tights might need to be a size bigger?? Yes? Not trying to be ugly or anything but....
Kymn - I know... well we all know how totally scary all this is but you are strong -stronger than you think and stronger that you sometimes even want to be. But you will be alright and you will get through this and you will be celebrating and enjoying knowing you have done what you can to get rid of this terrible terrible disease! We are all here with you and for you!
ohhh Karen - my daughter turns 13 in May!!! Yikes I'm right behind you!
Goldie - feel better!
Chrissy - how are you? Better now that you have had a swim and laughter and catchup time I hope.
Dorothy - - Oh I want a nap too!!! Glad you got one in. Gosh tomorrow will be wretched as I'm wide awake and tomorrow is coming right around the corner....
Was helping my son with his first singing audition for Guys and Dolls - keep your fingers crossed he gets a good part - hoping for Nathan or Nicely! He won't admit it but he really wants a good part!! I'm scared and nervous for him!!!

Kymn - My dx was in June of 09 but I still remember being angry. I also went through a phase where I thought they made a mistake cuz I felt fine dammit. There were many positive aspects of my dx (which still doesn't make it a positive overall event) but friends and ladies here have helped me focus on the up-side and just get through the down side knowing that a year from now you will be looking back at this period as a part of your past, but you'll still hang out with us.0
-
Ok, had my last nice drink of water for awhile...NOTHING now till after surgery, except a couple of sips of water in the morning to take essential medicine. And I like to drink a lot of water.....aaarrrggghhhhh. Trying to get REAL tired before hitting the bed....
Stanzie, this is sooooo weird.....your DD will be 13 in May, and my oldest G'dau will be 13 in May! Makes me feel OLD!!! Sure hope your son gets a good part! That is so kewl....and such good experience for him, to sing in front of an audience. Has he done that before? I would be too scared to do that. Fingers crossed!
Dorothy....you still dwinking?? Just kidding. Those "ugg" leopard boots (really were baby booties), and leopard jacket were posted for my surgery and ride home. BUT I will definately pass them on to Kymn for her 1st chemo on Thursday! OR do we need to find green leopard for St. Pat's Day? Hope you get enough sleep tonight! Strange that you have been soooo tired lately.
Well galz, nite nite...see ya on the other side...... you all dwink for me tomorrow, okay???
Kathy
P.S. Gail, just saw your new avatar.....verrrrrry clever...Gale Storm! Love it!

Kathy - good luck tomorrow! Good that you've been drinking water... so important. Will you come home after? I was supposed to spend the night when I swapped my implants but I felt fine and thought I'd be more comfortable at home. We'll be waiting in the bus with cushy pillows and a fuzzy robe and we'll take you straight to the percotini fountain.
