LOL Beans, I will never be able to do "yumping yacks" with a straight face again! Actually I see the PS tomorra and not sure if he will let me progress past just walking on the treadmill. I guess when he gives me da ok to do more exercize, I will have run out of 'scuses. I consider the day I got my cancer dx as the day they found dat rat bastard too. And so that is my cancerversary. Since this is the first year for you, it is normal to feel blue. Mine is almost 3 yrs now, so I celebrate it as a good thing, but I think at my 1st yr I was prolly pretty sad too. Esp since I thought I would be DONE with it by then, but still had to wait for the tatts. Cheer up gal, I will dwink some daffy dill dwinks wit ya!

NM, Loved your post and all the cartoons! For some reason I thought you had posted early Tues am, but it must have been Monday. Where, oh where does that time fly to? BTW how is Sadie doing? My doggies are tired of this rain too as then they stay mostly on the covered deck.....guess they would rather see sunny skies too! Mav and Molly said to say "woof woof" to Sadie!

ALMOST Pau Hana time...sneaking in some daffy dill dwinks with Beans, then will get my regurlar dwinnks soon......

    Cheerio!

Daffodil Classic is a cycling event on April 10.  Goes through daffodil fields and other fun places.  I am doing the 40 mile course as 60 one looks brutal and less scenic.  Plus, my cycling buddy Jim is more of a 40 mile guy.

Beans.....there is a cure for staying inside during rainy, slushy weather.  BOOTS!!!  The kind you get at farm supply places.  Much more fun when feet are dry and toasty.  Sounds like the Beans has a major case of cabin fever.

Some days need celebrating just from the effort of making it through.

I am making headway this week.  Actually broke through Thursday of last week.  So great to be moving forward.  Was so stuck for about three weeks, plus dragging from the creeping crud.  I will take a** deep mud over that any day.

The old Vermont joke about seasons goes: while most of the country has four seasons, Vermont is blessed with six - Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, More Winter, and Mud.  I think they (and think NM will back me up on this) are between More Winter and Mud.  Sounds like Beans is in the same place with Mud finally winning.

Hence boots.  In WA State, you get to wear them ALL SIX SEASONS. What a deal.

Will drink to that, but back to work and then a walk first. - Claire

wahine - you are so right to think about this in a positive way and thanks for the reminder! I had asked my doctor and was told it was okay to yump as long as I had a good sports bra. And yes, NM's post today is another fabulously entertaining LMAO post - thanks NM so much! Thanks for having daffydilly dwinks with me!

claire - I gottalotta boots, but need a fanny slap to get out there sometimes. Sorry, I thot we were dwinking daffodilly's again! Yes, cabin fever!! Whoa haw, it's for real! LOL at the Vermont seasons, we sure have that!

I always feel like apologizing for being so weird. I have to thank you galz again for pulling me once again out of the abyss. Your humor and caring words really help so much. Thanks for putting up with me!

Now where is my dang PMS Special???? Cheers and more dog beers!

LMAO Kymn, great fighting spirit!!! I am so late in getting a dwink for Happy Hour...where oh where is Pants or Jocks when you need them? OH...there they are, pampering Kymn and Beans....hey gals you can't take up ALL their time~! LOL. Dwinks are on me....IF I can get Pants free, I will ask him to fill the bar up with pwetty dwinks and we can take our pick!

    Okole Maluna,

    Kathy

P.S. Kymn was it you that missed the end of DWTS? Won't give it away in case someone else hasn't seen it yet, but just go to www.hulu.com and you can see any tv show (I think) you want to see, for free.

You girls are impossible to keep up with! I usually only have time to get a post in in the morning. But have a few minutes today. So Jocks, if you could be a dear and bring me TWO drinks pa leeze, and I won't have to bother you for a bit!

Dorothy, and Beans both just crack me the hail up. Beans, I'm sorry you have had a rough few days, yump back in here girl. Dorothy, glad you got a little eye candy at the docs office.

Chrissy, tit up...sounds similar to whudup! I love it!

Kathy, sorry to hear it's still rough sleeping, you will get there. It's about time for me to call in an order from my cancer center and I can't wait to get my hot little hands on some 20 mg of Melatonin.

LOL @ Stanzie and her flat head! Now that is a good one!

Astorm, sure hope you are feeling better.

The girls party, I believe is at Junie's B&B, since DH will be away getting the taxes done.

Kymn, I am with you, I don't celebrate the rat bastard either. I do know I am real close if not past 3 years from my lumpectomy and Onc's office called last night to tell me my tests were neg. Still have to get blood work.

Karen, you do know I was just playing with you?

NM, I kind of figured you were just too busy, hope you were able to get rested up.

Husker and Lois, hope you can join us tonight.....ok, I am outta here. Pants, 2 more please! (Since I walk home!)

P.S. I don't think you can get shows right away on hulu, I think it takes like a week before they post them. Not positive tho.

Hi Lori! Glad you can start dwinking now, before walking home! Yes, you can get the tv shows on hulu the day after they air. I always wish I could get them the same night they air, but no such luck. But today I did watch the 2 shows that the satellite interrupted last night. You are going to take the 20mg melatonin? Have you had that dose before? I take 3 mg, and it does work well fo rme, but with having to sleep on pillows and on my back, it just is NOT comfy for me, so not so good sleeping that way. My dr took 8mg melatonin and he said it made him really feel tired the next day, which is why I am asking. I agree with you, Dorothy and Beans crack me the hail up too! They are not only funny, but really nice gals, too. We have so many nice galz here, we are really fortunate to have such a good bunch at the lounge!

Junie, hoping you are enjoying your night out!

    Still Happy Hour you know!

Forgot, there was more I wanted to say to Ms Smarty Pants (NM) What do mean half the day is gone by 6? Guess I'm not missing much then, with my usual wake up time around 5. (am) If I stay up til 10 or so, that is when I get up at 6, unless it's just been a bad night.

And I cringe when you talk about taking out your drains, but yet a needle scares you! Haha....just given you grief!

I don't like net books either, I make WAY too many mistakes, mostly because of my nails tho. They are ok for checking on things, but not for typing.

2 more drinks please.......Pants? Jocks? Candie? Sugar? Skate?    ANYONE!

    Junie, when should we arrive?

Hi Lori, It is funny, but when I first used the netbook I would make sooo many errors, but now that I have used it so long, it is easier. But then again I don't have long nails! I think though that it is part of the reason when I hit a wrong key and lose posts. With my desktop upstairs, that didn't used to happen. Sending Skate over with 2 LARGE dwinks for ya!

Anyone watching Survivor and Am Idol tonight????

I hope Junie answers you, cause I am ready for a road trip! Arkansas here we come!

Men ~~sigh~~ My Flyers are kicking arse and whipped Pittsburgh. Hope to see our teams in the playoffs. Your team is my second fav, just because it is your team (logic a little better than DH's) lol. Love your spirit, you are doing great. Would love to see a pic of you doed up for work with your pretty hair on.

Lori, glad you are entertained. I am a ridiulously silly most of the time. On a serious note, I love how to respond with so few words yet get your point across. My mean professor would have commened you in techical writing.  Anywho, it was great seeing you three times today.

Claire, I am still pondering if I want to have a cancerversary but I have decided to declare 6/1/10 as "Rat Bastard Day". Then to the date of my bmx, 7/21 will be "Dead "fn" Rat Bastard Day".  I could go on and on but will spare ya! Keep up the good work.

Hello to the rest of my breastest friends. And yes, I miss some of our regulars too. I am back to Amer. Idol, I never cared much for Lauren but she sounds good tonight.

The below link came from my sweet niece. She surprised me yesterday and came over with my sisteri and brought us dinner. While we were conversing, we were talking about the new words added to the Webster Dictionary this year. One was muffin top, a new defination refering to a woman's mid section. I was telling them about the year my boss went to Borders on the day the new dictionary was published using the f word for the first time. Well she sent me the below:

I am finally indulging in wine.  Just put potatoes and Jerusalem artichokes in the oven.  YUM!!!

Need serious comfort food with these low-hanging grey clouds.  Have yummy locally-made bratwurst to have with.  And thinking some chard for something green.

Ate my dessert about three hours ago as was needed then.  (Leftover chestnut dessert.)

Sorry Kymm.....but I like stuff that puts hair on your chest.  OOOOPS.....wrong metaphor here.  But much heavier ales.  I believe they make Warthog in AB.

Junie, Can you come do my taxes? SIGH

I usually do it ALL, but DH asked last night what he could do to help. Gave him 2 tasks: sort these papers into piles and start entering numbers into tax planner. He sorted the piles (sort of) and said he didn't hear me ask about entering numbers.

Tax appointment is tomorrow at 12:30 and 8:30 tonight he says, "You procrastinate as usual. I"VE never done this before!" So we got in a big argument how he is trying to hold the family together and I just am on the phone and Facebook and all he asks is that I do the taxes. So we get in a huge argument and I can never do that without crying, and really. Do I HAVE to pull the-card with my own husband?! So we aren't speaking.

And I tried to have a red beer (beer w/tomato jc to those that are unfamiliar-popular in midwest) with supper tonight and drank about two drinks and asked what horrible beer this was. It was Coors! My taste buds are gone I guess. Trying to cry in my beer and can't even do that.

*Handing over a box of nice soft tissues (w/ lotion)* to Husker, along with gentle (((hugs))). Even though you can't cry in your beer, Jocks is coming over to see you right now! He has nice big strong shoulders for you to cry on, and looks so amazing, that you will not even remember that you and your DH are arguing (or not speaking). Then come on out to the pool and gaze up at the beautiful moon, with clear sky. Pants is standing by to bring you whatever you want to drink. Hang in there kiddo, you will feel better tomorrow....just hope you can sleep well tonight! We are here for you, remember that!

Thanks wahine...thanks to the wonders of Ambien, I am (almost) always assured on a good night's sleep. I also bring my little buckwheat pillow to bed, so I will be warm even though it's chilly on the other side. Too bad for him,  I was thinking tonight might be the night. It has been awhile but it's gonna be awhile longer.

But I will check out the night sky and just breathe and gaze at the help. They get paid to look pretty and give us compliments, don't they?!!

Go for it Husker!!!  Me selfish, but I need my Os.  I will take Os over wine.

When I was married to my ex who was financially clueless, we paid someone megabux to do taxes for us.  Well worth the investment.

In the long run, didn't solve our marriage problems, but sure kept the tension down.

Still need to do mine.  Would love to file but need to contribute to my SEP IRA and don't have the cash at the moment.  At least I know I don't owe.

My dinner was fab.  Even the Jerusalem artichokes which I just roasted.  YUM...... - Claire

Claire, you made me smile for the first time tonight.

The funny thing is we have an accountant, this is just all the stupid prep work FOR the accountant. Like picking up the house before the cleaning lady comes, in my opinion. I told him, just give him the pile and let him sort it out! He'll let us know what we are missing and we can quit stressing here. Isn't that what we pay the guy for? And wouldn't this be the year to ease up on the wife who can't do it all, and let the guy with the CPA behind his name earn a little extra?

Of course we got everything done by 10:00 (just think where we'd be if he'd put the damn numbers in last night) and was so surprised that there was so little left to do when he decided to insult me. Not that I'm holding a grudge or anything.

So we've hugged, but I'm still pouting. Pants, something fruity, frothy, and with a cherry on top. Two cherries.

Too much Drama and too many mind games - Not only do I not think well enough to do mind games so it is just plain mean but I'm just too tired for stupid junk like that. Fed up and so annoyed and angry probably won't sleep. I think I'm just totally over the male ego! So goes my rant for the late evening..... Looking for my old lavender pillow - used to love sleeping with it - sounds like my best option for sleeping along with my cat who if finally mellowing at age 9!

Good morning, Loungettes! I am looking at a beautiful red sunrise while I listen to the weather prognosticator say we're going to get 6 to 12 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow. The makeral sky is already moving in so something big is coming. I thought it was spring?

Stanzie-I'm glad you enjoy my posts! I love doing it, but some mornings there just isn't time to do it right. I'll try to keep my work life from interfering as much as I can!

Beanie! Good heavens, dear, you need help! Pants! Jock! Please pick up Beanie, park her in a pool floatie and fill her up with dwinkies! Then turn down the light and play soft music and let her (and the rest of us, probably) drift off to sweepies. Migraines are not fun, I remember getting them and even my hair hurt. Ah, Beanie, there you go, all set up and it looks like Pants has decided to devote all his attention to you until you feel better.
That first anniversary is a bi$ch.

Claire-The actual date of the mutation that invited the beast in can never be known. I use the date I got the needle aspiration results as my anniversary, even though I found the lump 3 months earlier. For me, that concrete date is something to work with, the more nebulous stuff just drives me crazy. But I can see where others use different markers. Endorphins are a very good thing, aren't they? Gotta love biological chemistry!

Beanie-I have this incredibly funny mental picture of you doing yumping yacks until you crumple into a ball of giggles! Reminds me of all the time I would hold onto the boobs with one arm when going up and down stairs, or walking very fast for the same reason. LOL!

Wahine-I did post early Monday, a short post. Knew I wouldn't get on Tuesday, had to make sure you all had a DOTD to try on Monday! Sadie is doing very, very well. She is running the household very nicely. She is glad to see more sun and less snow, and is bugging me to take her to the dog park again. It was funny watching her try to squat to pee when the snow was hip high on her! Sadie says ‘bow wow" to Molly and Mav!

Claire-good point! Around here they're called barn boots for adults and rain boots for kids. I've been looking for an inexpensive pair to wear when I work in the Sadie poopie side yard when it gets warm enough. In Maine we have Summer (2 weeks) Fall ( 2 weeks), Winter, More Winter, Mud Season and Black Fly Season. Can be very interesting at times.

Kymn-WAY TO GO, GIRL! You tell that beast rat ba$$ahd where to go!

Morning, Goldie! I see Jocks on his way over with a whole tray of drinks for you. Girls party sounds like great fun! I was quoting my Mom when I said the day was half over by 6 am. She used to tell me that the day was half over by the time I got up-this was when I was working the 3-11 shift and not getting to sleep until 1 or 2 am. Now I get to tease her since she doesn't get up until 8 or 9 or sometimes even 10 am! And when I take out my own drains I am in control, with needles someone else it, not to mention they HURT! Another gift from the beast.

Wahine-the dose of melatonin that works best is different for everyone. I take 20 mg and do not have any morning tiredness, any less and I don't really sleep well. The best way to work with melatonin is to start with 3 or 5 mg a night for a week or so, then increase by 3 or 5 mg once a week or so until you find the dose that works without making you tired the next morning. Not being comfortable is going to make it hard to sleep, I feel so sorry for you. How much longer do you have to be stranded on your back?

Dork-I like the idea of multiple cancerversaries-more dates to celebrate, or at least excuses to party!

Husker-stories like this make me glad I'm not married. Tell your DH to go to hades when you're talking to him again. Yeesh.

Given the direction of the conversation here I thought this would be an appropriate DOTD:

    Sex Therapy

    1 oz Vodka
    1 oz Triple Sec
    1/4 oz Lemon Juice
    2 oz (Strong) Coffee
    (Fill to Top) Whipping Cream

    Directions
Start with the coffee, preferably espresso. Add in the vodka, triple sec and lemon juice (lime juice can be used instead) and stir. Top with the whipped cream and cherries.

Stanzie and I are dragging it home after an all-nighter at the lounge... Hey, Stanzie, I've got some really good undereye concealer...  sorry bout the SO... why does something that should be so simple and easy have to be so difficult and complicated? Just when I start wondering if being single wouldn't be a whole lot easier, DH says or does something sweet and I realize that I have misinterpreted the situation... Hope today is a better day for you.

Just lurked yesterday cuz I was still too low, but I'm on the upswing now. Thanks everyone for your well wishes -- and Claire for your "cure"... (only got to Step 4 as there is no Nordstrom in town and then DD1 came home and ruined my mood by having a tantrum so I'm starting over with Step 1 today). I think I've been suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder... a nice long walk on a sunny day changes everything!

I think I heard Beanie talking about cancer-versary,,, and I know I heard Kymn's opinion -- that's quotable! I don't get the concept myself but then I never celebrated my divorce either. I plan to do a happy dance on the day I take my last tamoxifun, but I'll probably find some reason to fear NOT taking it... I do like NM's idea about having more celebrations so I think I'll just celebrate every single day of my life after bc.

Thanks for the drink, NM. Looks like I might catch a sunrise here so I'm taking my Sex Therapy in a travel mug and heading for the beach.

Sunrise at West Cliff, Santa Cruz.

Haha Husker........love Beer and TJ. Hadn't had it in a long time tho. My mom always used V8, but that is too spicey for me. Junie isn't doing taxes, she's having a party. HEY JUNIE.........YOU'RE HAVING A PARTY! She sending DH to the accountant.

Kymn, if you stop for gas or at a store on your way home, don't forget to put your wig back on. I did that one time, and some yelled out to me "Love your hair cut" I feel up to my bald head, turn to the voice only to find it is a bald man!

Kathy, I watch survivor. Will watch tonight. Ralph, from VA. is my husbands 3rd cousin! And yes a DRINKING thread. A BAR, a LOUNGE, come in and DRINK and have FUN!

Stanzie....again? My dear dear beautiful lady..........MOVE ON!

NM, I saw that you could get dumped on. That is crappy, but I guess not unusual given where you live. And please, you can talk about work, besides you have helped some of us out, and of course we want to know how the new job goes when you get there. Be safe in all that snow. My lump sat in my breast for at least 8 months before being biopsied. Stupid ASS doc told me it was an enlarged lymph  node and not to worry about it! Then went and retired. Cute doggie cartoon! And what beautiful drinks, sorry girls, these are MINE. I hear ya about being in control, but still makes me cringe.

Beans, I hope you are feeling better love. That foot rub you are getting is looking might fine, I might jump in there with you!

Astorm, what a beautiful sunrise, did you take that picture? I agree on stopping our meds, I will be so happy to be done, but again scared.

Well I must run..........half the day is gone! LOL. Oh Dort, I am steeling from you. I now call my greenhouse, my girl cave.........I'm likin it!

    Luvs ya ALL..............almost Friday!

Hi, Lori. No I didn't take that photo... never learned how to operate a camera. Plus, I figure there are plenty of pictures of the sights around here online already.

Going to the library to pick up a book, "Woman Cancer Sex" and then I'm heading out of town for a meeting (which happens to be near Norstrom), then I'm picking up a fab new lipstick and maybe some hot lingerie. If hubby is still afraid of the atomic boobs I may need those batteries!

Stopping in for a quickie (drink that is) DH has gone to the Post Office.

Kathy, I missed you post on the Melatonin. Yes 20mg. That is what my Naturopathic doc recomended to me. I have tons of Valium 10 mg, but don't really like taking narcotics, so I just take them a few times a month, if that. Never felt groggy from the Melatonin. As for Hulu, I must be looking or doing something wrong, cuz I went the following day to watch something, it wasn't there, checked again the next day, still not there. So, just gave up!

XX Dos Equis is beer? I thought it was wine? Shows ya what I know.............not much!

Oh and sorry for being so selfish in not sharing my drinks, there were only 4 on THAT tray. I would offer to share now, but I drank em all! Tongue out
