Ok, now we need an electrician at the HTL so we can dispatch as needed. Alli, sorry that yooze are dealing with allergies over there too. I'm about to rub my eyes raw, they itch so damn bad. On the Komen 3 day, there is NO way I could 20 miles a day for 3 days. I would struggle with trying to do 20 miles in 3 days! One of the gals at UPS always does the 5K and walks in my honor. Said I should join them one year, that they have a blast (party girls).
Mema, I always cwack up when you say the truck got drunk, I just love that line. Glad you all are smart enough not to let that truck dwive when it gets like that! And YAY for Bella!

NM, so glad you checked in and are doing better. My son has asthma and I just can't imagine not being able to breathe. He had a horrible attack one time when he was little, and scared the bejeebies out of me. Hospital 20 minutes away. I hope you are feeling better VERY SOON. We will all continue to pray for you. Also glad to know you have peeps to keep an eye on you.

Well, let me tell u why I missed the party. Kathy, I have been going to the gym A LOT. Well, last weekend, I was gonna do my toenails. Had an ingrown that I doctored a little too much myself. Well, wore these cute boots to the concert, and am guessing that the tequila shots kept me from feeling the toe pain. On Sunday, I look down and notice my aching big toe on left foot is gray,(I never repolished them, so I could see it). Anyway, went to the gym EVERY DAY this week, put in about 4 miles each time. Friday night toe was swollen and throbbing, but nothing else. Again, stupid me just lets it go. Got home from gym yesterday, and had to get in shower cause Ray had a buddy coming over to help him bottle wine, then we were going out to eat dinner. I get out of shower, decide to push back cuticles on toes while soft, and clip toenail on that gray toe. Well, it was like mount gushmore!! OMG, tons of stuff coming out all over place. I hear rays buddy at front door, and I yell down for Ray to come here. He sees it and says "u have to call oncologist." CHIT!!! I know where this is going, as my WBC is still only 2.7 as of two weeks ago, so...... I get ready for dinner, and drive myself to ER, tell Ray and his buddy I will call when I know something. So I go into ER, thinking I would get antibiotic, and they say they want to give me IV antibiotics!!! OMG! Ended up talking Dr. Out of keeping me. I BEGGED her to go home. She took a sample of the fluid, which was mainly clear, and sent it out. She let me go on the condition I start oral antibiotics, I soak it 3-4 times a day in warm soapy water, and if the toe turns red or gets more painful, I come back to hospital. I left promising to be a good girl, and couldn't get the hell out of there fast enough!!!
That was about 8:00 last night, and the last thing I had eaten was a hard boiled egg at noon, so I went home, picked up DH, his buddy, and Aubrey and we went and got dinner, then I came home and soaked. Just got done soaking it again, and it feels way better this am, but it is very blue. They said that's normal. I hope it heals quickly!!! I have been doing everything right, eating so healthy, exercising, losing weight. I just want my health back, and a freakin big toe sends me to the ER, WTH????
Ok, there's my rant. Gonna Dr this toe today, and will check back in later.
BTW, can I have one a them sippy cups???0 -
Oopsie, bumped ya Lori, glad u had yer sippy cup! And oh me goodness, with all my toe Chit, I forgot about Stella coming, and my neighbor just called. Apparently, when we weren't home, she knocked on their door and told them who she was. My neighbors have three little girls, an Stella axed if she could come in and pway til we got home. She ended up stayin de nite ober dere. They said she was an excellent sitter. Stella jus got here, she mad at me. She said mese forgot her. And she said she was soooo good cause she promised dork she would be, but she said dose goils was whiney, and de had no likker in de whole house! So she is downstairs now sampling all our homemade hooch in de basement. Poor goil. Stella, mese so sawwy. Wese gonna hab a good time today, K? Pwease don't be mad at me goil, I Lub u!

Geez Alli....OMG that is awful! Glad you went to ER and they got your toe heading towards getting well. OUCH! When my foot dr used the curette thingie and cut (no numbing) all along the side of the big toenails, the pain was mind-boggling. BUT the next day I realized my big toes did not hurt anymore. Then realized they ALWAYS hurt...so that was eye-opening for me. Reason why I hate to wear shoes. I use sandals on the treadmill, and sometimes yogasocks. So can't go as fast as I would like to. And only wore shoes once this winter. Now one big toe is starting to get ingrown again and hurts like h3ll. You being a nail expert, I thought would know how to cut without allowing the top edge to get ingrown. Guess its much harder to do than I thought....or do some nails just grow into the skin no matter how they are cut? Is it your toenail that is now blue? Mine is still solid black...and the other one was removed. THe removed one has no pain at all! SO funny about Stella going to your neighbors! Alli, you have been through a lot yesterday and still need to heal, so hoping you can take it easy!!!
Lawrri, Hoping you don't get blown away! Maybe it will blow the pollen AWAY from your property!! WHen I was on the clear liq diet, and had local honey every day, I still used my antihistamine (zyrtec), but it seemed like my nose wasn't as runny. Not sure I would want to use that much honey every day though....wonder how much is recommended? Would be neat if you could join them some year for the 5k, that is just over 3 miles, so not too bad! When my DD and I are in Lisbon for just 1 full day b4 going to Madeira, that is the LARGEST half-marathon in the world, and of course the course is thru all the historic areas and near the water....where we would want to be. She would have loved to run it as she and her DH do marathons (he does the hardest ones), but pickup for the packet is before we get there. I would rather she gets to see all that she can, or else if we take the train to the walled medieval city, or the palaces, etc. SO am sorta glad she can't do the run! YES, of course.....OSCAR PARTAY AT THE HTL TONIGHT!!! Now dear, you stay up and partay wid us toonite, ok? We always miss you at de partays when you leave the 'puter.
NM, You doing better today? My g'children (2) have asthma too. My oldest used to be hospitalized ALL the time, in serious condition. Her breathing would not register on the tester-thingie and they always thought it was defective,and would keep getting other testers to try. Well that was cuz when she was in distress, her breathing was critically low, so it didn't register at all, but she didn't LOOK like she was that sick. When they would realize how bad she was, they sure would hustle and get the dr in there asap. Several times she had to stay a night or two. Now that she is a teen, either she knows more quickly when she needs help, or maybe she is outgrowing it, but has not been hospitalized for a few yrs now. HOPING to hear you are doing so much better today!!!!!
Happy SunDey FunDey, GIrlz! I have more work to do at my parents house today, and mine as well. GAWGEOUS weather here today though! Hope no one gets blown away. AND hope Dorkie has power today!!!!

Kathy, it is my big toenail, and its blue/black now, but no pain. And me being a nail tech makes me feel even dumber! See, last Sat when ingrown was hurting, I didn't have my special tool, it was at the shop. So I did WHAT I TELL MY CLIENTS TO NEVER DO, I dug in with whatever I could find. Pair of clippers that weren't soaked in barbicide. I went to town, and did way too much. I know better than to do that without my special tool. Then after doing that I put on new boots and wore them to the concert, and walked and walked in them. Mese is soooo Stupid!
Stella has forgiven me. She is dwunk, an she passed out. Mese put her in de spawe bedroom, nice an coziest. She sayd de Stwawbewwy wine was her mose fovrittest. Mese got some mowe a dat in de fridgitater chiwwing fo wen she wakes up. Wese gonna dwink it an make fun a da cewebritties on de red cawpet wit de poor cwose choices. No, no, no Alli....youze iz not dumb, youze is BERRY BERRY smart and talented!!! You mentioned a "special tool"....should I get one? When mine got black from the pressure on the long flight, they also felt like they were hit hard with a hammer...hurt so bad, then nails swelled up too and got thick and black. OUCH! Glad yours does not hurt anymore. I will take any tips you can share! YEAH of course we can ak like da Joan Riversrunsmouthtoolong. She is MEAN sumtimz..but wese beez nicer, right???

Lori.....its been really windy here as well....was like spring yesterday and snow is supposed to be back again either monday or tuesday......so far February has been the 2nd snowiest on record...if we get 2 more inches we will break the record......Wonder what March will be like as March is the snowiest month.....

I live in my Sanita clogs......generally don't wear socks....in the summer I live in my Keens or J41's.....only wear boots in the winter when its snowing or bitter cold....I have a pair of "biker" style boots with a big sq toe but don't wear them often.....comfort is more important than style!!! I buy my clothes to go with my shoes (not the other way round!!!)....and my clogs are all funky!!!!
Regarding the Komen 3 - day.....I have crewed the Denver one twice....no way could I walk it, but also there is a fundraising committment to do the walk....$2300...if you can't raise it in donations, you have to lay out the money yourself!!!! Its amazing how much money some people can raise, but I don't have those connections....we do the 5K every year and feel good when we raise over $800......I want to crew the 3 day again (no fund raising obligation) but the Denver one is NOT anymore, so I would need to travel out of town for one.....I am thinking of crewing for the Avon 2 day in the mountains here the end of June......
Going to order my wine today....it will be here on Thursday....I have 2 bottles left, so will do just fine......
Going to bake Hamentashen cookies today....they are "triangle hats" filled with poppy seed, or jam or other yummy fillings.....they are for the holiday of Purim which is the 8th.....like to make them in advance and eat them till the holiday....probably only do one batch today and maybe another batch later in the week or next Sunday....will mail some to my kids in Toronto and to my parents.....

Happy Sunday girls! I've been feeling so superly great this week and been so superly busy! Went fishing, spent two days on the yard, cleaned both cars all sparkley inside, went fishing again, babysat grandaughter for the day and cleaned my house from one end to the other....think I've got spring fever!! But alas, it's back to chemo for me tomorrow.

Who had some helpful hints on the THRUSH?? Was it Beans, or maybe Memasue? I definitely want those hints as it keeps trying to come back.
Mrs. V-That whole toe ordeal sounds terrible, OUCH! Glad they let you go home and even happier to hear that you are being good and doing what they say. Make sure you take ALL of those antibiotics! I'm really bad about forgetting to take them once I start feeling better-not good.
Dorthy-You poor thing! I can't believe all that you've been through with the boobies!! I pray for you every night and hope that this will be the final fix!! No more boobie surgeries after this.
Won't be at the Oscar party tonite, got a new computer and am going to play around with it and see if I can figure out how to post pics on here. Up till now just been using the google TV and it won't let me do that. GOLDIE-you are our computer expert.....can you tell me how to do it?

Tied - WOW WoW Wooo, you have been a busy bee. I loke those kinda weekends myself, specially the grandbaby part. I never did get the thrush, I used the baking soda/salt rinse many times a day. Mouth was sore but never turned into thrush. I do remember, vaguely, someone posted a good remedy, sorry I don't remember who. Sorry you won't be with us for the Oscar ParTay...there'll be plenty of room if you should change your mind.
Mrkf - I envy you. I miss the swimming. I started last May after my 1st chemo, but after I went bald I got the folliculitis and had to stop. Am hoping to get back into when our pool opens. Enjoy your vino!

Would love to be at the party but my sister and I host a virtual party for family and friends and we are frantically counting the ballots and manning our FB page with updates. We've been doing it for 10 years-we even have a trophy! My oldest DD and SIL are hosting a party (real) for the sibs and 2 cousins. They are dressing up as their favorite movie character, but has to be from a movie that is nominated. DD is Marilyn Monroe, SIL is Hugo, niece is Bellatrix LaStrange, DD2 is girl from Bridesmaids (played by McCarthy-can't think of her first name, from Mike & Molly!), and nephew is a lion (from We Built a Zoo). Can't wait for pix!
My 79 year-old aunt is also hosting a party in Dallas at her retirement village, complete with chocolate pie (from The Help) for dessert! They have a red carpet runner, a trophy of a wrestler sprayed gold that is supposed to be Oscar, they are all dressing up and the winner gets a 2-dollar gift certificate to the dollar movie theatre nearby! Oh. AND...they decorated a wheelchair with a red velvet pillow and glitter for those that need an "escort" in the door. So, don't know if I'll get back tonight, but have a martini and/or champagne on me.
