Karen,
Glad you got a good report today. I go to onc tomorrow for 3 month check, which is my third since finishing chemo. Had bloodwork last week so already know the numbers are okay. My tumor marker numbers were up a little also, but still within normal range. Many oncs do not even use the numbers...it is more of following a trend line than the actual numbers themselves. The only thing that was high was cholesterol and that has been elevated for years. Had hoped that losing 20 pounds since chemo might have changed that, but evidently not. Am anticipating being put on some drug for that-Lipitor? Anybody else on cholesterol drugs? I doubt onc will prescribe though-probably PCP. Vitamin D went from 17 in September (really low) to 52-not too bad. Also have a cord or band under surgery breast. Thought it was a lump-thank GOD I was already going to PT for lymphedema and she could quickly assure me it was not-stretching by therapist seems to help a lot. HOpefully will be rid of that little SE soon.
A week of 70+ weather-so great. Except the kids get wild and think summer is near. Sadly we still have 2 months to go! Next week DH & I will spend a long weekend in Phoenix with his brother and wife. Our district doesn't allow personal days before or after a school break, so I have to take them when I have students. So dumb. So will leave Thu and come back Mon. Can't wait!

Its getting verrrrrrry close to St. Patricks Day.....
Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, 'Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!'
Miraculously, a parking place appeared.Paddy looked up again and said, 'Never mind, I found one.

Patton staggered home very late after another evening with his drinking buddy, Paddy. He took off his shoes to avoid waking his wife, Kathleen.
He tiptoed as quietly as he could toward the stairs leading to their upstairs bedroom, but misjudged the bottom step. As he caught himself by grabbing the banister, his body swung around and he landed heavily on his rump. A whiskey bottle in each back pocket broke and made the landing especially painful.
Managing not to yell, Patton sprung up, pulled down his pants, and looked in the hall mirror to see that his butt cheeks were cut and bleeding. He managed to quietly find a full box of Band-Aids and began putting a Band-Aid as best he could on each place he saw blood.
He then hid the now almost empty Band-Aid box and shuffled and stumbled his way to bed..
In the morning, Patton woke up with searing pain in both his head and butt and Kathleen staring at him from across the room.
She said, 'You were drunk again last night weren't you?'
Patton said, 'Why you say such a mean thing?'
'Well,' Kathleen said, 'it could be the open front door, it could be the broken glass at the bottom of the stairs, it could be the drops of blood trailing through the house, it could be your bloodshot eyes, but mostly ....... it's all those Band-Aids stuck on the hall mirror.0 -

Making a short visit to the lounge this am, going to meet up with an old high school friend this morning and spend some time yakking. Then I've got to go into the office early and catch up with the supervisors about some questions I have. Got to make a stop in between to transfer all my prescriptions to the pharmacy that the insurance company wants me to use. Busy day compared to yesterday, when I didn't have to leave the house for anything!
I have not forgotten about dr. "damned canncer patient" and am making plans to continue expressing my displeasure. AND I'm telling every one I can about the incidend. It'g going to get back to him in more than one way, trust me. And I've found another way to continue making waves about the radiation treatment crap I got, too. I'm probably getting a reputation as a really difficult patient, but I do NOT care.
Wahine--glad you're back on, hope that means the storm didn't do any damage!
Happy St. Paddy's day, all!

Good Friday morning.....busy day today.....bone density at 9:45 then friend is coming over to meet my fur babies and walk....want to clean early, but DH is still sleeping...he's had this crud all week and is feeling lousy....we are supposed to go to friends for Shabbat dinner, but last night said if he wasn't feeling good he wasn't going anywhere....so wondering do I call and cancel and make dinner at home....and he most likely won't be good company....make something for him to eat and go without him......I guess I need to wait till he gets up and let him make the call....I just want enough notice to cook shabbat dinner if we are all staying home.....I'm bringing dessert to friends...so if we do good, a light cooking day....Its going to be in the 70's again today and close to 80 tomorrow (record high possible) and then back to the 50's and 60's...still too warm for this time of year....everything is soooooo brown...

Yes Allison, I will share the sign. I'm sawry yu cwy when they play that song, I would too, for sure. You wuz sneaky to swim up under NM and tip her, but I bet she gets even wif ya! COLTON, that is his name. Ohhhh, I just can't stand him and his lil all high and mighty self! My DH is very bummed and pissed at who actually got voted off. I was able to get a post in last evening before shutting things down for the night. You wuz on a roll last night!
Oh wow, I guess I was wrong bout ya NM, I thought fo sho, you would get even with MrsV, instead you buy her a drink. LOL, but put it on her tab.......OK!!! Ok, we will git your peoples and DorK's people. That doctor WILL NOT get away with this.
Beanie Weanie, have a safe trip home, and we will see you then. We luv you!
DorKy, I hate that you lost a good deal. It escapes me why businesses go to other countries for work. Especially the phone stuff. So pisses me off. It's like calling "Peggy" right? Oh, I see da Dorkerella was posting......LMAO. And she is on da rant...too funny!!!!
Kathy, you REALLY did have storms last night!!! That makes your texts warranted! I couldn't imagine who was texting me last night, as I never get texts. Glad all is ok. Oh ya, throw the age thing in there, on top of BC.............NOPE, LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME....LOL.
Mema, you only get one day a week off? You cwazy lady. Hope you can catch some energy.
Karen, how neat you found your bracelet. I too thank the person that picked it up out of harms way and put it in a spot that its owner could claim it. Shoot, I do not know what a neuropsych test is, or WNL (within normal something?) Anyways, looks to me like you do LOTS, you are always on the run. I do hope you can get to a place you want to be.
Kristy, I take Lipitor for high cholesterol, caused from Arimidex.
I see I still have reading to do, but don't have time. Need to finish getting ready to go to town.
On a last note, funny to watch the news, mind you it's Phoenix news. Weather report, they are getting ready for this HUGE STORM, now get this...................they could get..........................from.....................................
½ to 1 inch of rain!!!!!

LOL Lori, about the "huge storm"....but if its been dry, that really could cause flooding there, can't it? I found some youtube videos of the tornado damage in HI, a couple of streets over from my dad's home, and also one that showed the waterspout coming IN by the Mokulua Islands, which are right out in front of their house. ITs so funny those islands are in commercials, etc., as they are beautiful....but one gal commenting on the video mentioned their nicknames like "three hump"" for one, etc. Prolly what they were called b4 being named. I know....weird right?.....that I accidentally sent you unsent texts from the tornadoes LAST YEAR....and we were still having storms when I sent them last night. *twilight zone moment". OH yeah, Alli and Lori, I can't stand Colton either...he is a rich beyotch foah shuah...hate that he's from somewhere in AL...gives the state a bad image!! ANd I also hated that they voted that gal off...she was a good player, and SO strong and athletic....they just knew she was a threat....those wimps.
Have fun with your friend today, NM! ANd I am glad you are still going after that $hit-a$$ dr! I am still PO'd about my dr who STILL has not dictated the report from my procedure on Feb 10...so texted him last night (HOPE it went to him!), and DH is calling his office and the surgey place today. I am just upset enough about it that I almost want to cancel my followup procedure. If he doesn't do it today, then no way will I have it b4 my trip, and right now I think he thinks he can "coast by" and not try to do it at all...apparently the surgery place was able to send it in to insurance by taking some of his notes to show what was found. Its just not right though. Good luck with all you have to do today!
Karen, Hoping you get to go to dinner with your friends, even if DH chooses to stay home. Sounds like you would enjoy their company better! Esp with a sick husband....not fun to be around a sick husband, foah shuah. Good luck with all you have to get done, too.
A gawgeous day again today...I have been stuck in the house on all these pretty days...still lots to do before my trip. HOPING to get my clothes figured out today...(yes LORI I really might get ready before the last minute...lol)....since DD gets here next Thurs, and I won't be able to do much Monday after the epidural.
What a nice Irish Friendship Wish, Bernie! We LOVE celebrating St. Pat's day here! I mean, shoot, another reason to dwink, right??? And I love the corned beef dinner we always have. We even got some Irish Cheese yesterday from our healthy/organic food store.
Cheers Dears!!! Happy Fried-Dey! Hope no one overwoiks and weally gets fried though. Mema, you've had sooo much woik lately too! Hope all your tests come out well....and they better hide those dumdums when you go back!! LOL. Lubs youse all....have a wunnerful dey.....
OH, didn't mean to bump ya Juliet! Love that....so funny...think I will copy and send that to some friends too. GLAD to know we have valid reasons now...and why....lol!

Emerald Isle
Go green with your martini, just hold the vermouth and replace it with some crème de menthe. You'll have the Irish spirit in no time. While aromatic bitters are customary, mint bitters are an equally nice compliment.
Ingredients:
1 oz gin
1 tsp green crème de menthe
2 quick dashes of bitters
1 mint leaveEverybody's Irish
Everybody *is* Irish, at least on St. Patrick's Day. Pour the irish whiskey, crème de menthe, and Chartreuse with ice cubes and blend to get this very green cocktail. If an olive isn't your thing, use a fresh sprig of mint instead.
Ingredients:
2 oz Irish whiskey
1 oz green crème de menthe
1 oz green Chartreuse
cocktail olive for garnishIrish Car Bomb
A true classic, this list is incomplete without the infamous drink. Even though it's not exactly one of the few cocktails enjoyed back in the homeland. Fill a shot glass with Irish creme and Jameson, drop it into the Guinness, and slam the drink down.
Ingredients:
3/4 pint Guinness Stout
1/2 shot Irish Creme
1/2 shot Jameson Irish whiskeyThe Dancing Leprechaun
On St. Patrick's Day anything Irish goes, especially Irish Whiskey mixtures. To make the leprechaun dance, combine all the listed ingredients in a shaker with ice, then strain into a highball glass with ice cubes. Finally, add garnish with a twist of lemon.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
3/4 oz Drambuie
3/4 oz lemon juice
Ginger Ale
Twist of Lemon peelThe Midori June Bug
This delicious concoction is made by blending all ingredients in a shaker and pouring over ice. It may be a bit girly for some, but at least its green and it's a bit different than the norm.
Ingredients:
1 oz Midori® melon liqueur
3/4 oz coconut rum
3/4 oz banana liqueur
1 oz sweet and sour mix
1 oz pineapple juiceDublin Handshake
St. Patrick's Day is about fun and drunken friendship, so why not give peace a chance? Trade in that Irish Car Bomb for a Dublin Handshake, another Irish favorite. Just combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake well, and strain in to a rocks glass with ice.
Ingredients:
1/2 oz Baileys Irish cream
1/2 oz Irish whiskey
3/4 oz Sloe ginNutty Irishman
While a true Irishman rarely forgoes the comforts of whiskey and beer, an exception can be made for Baileys. In shooter form, mix half shots of Baileys Irish Cream and Frangelico. Or instead mix one ounce of each of the liqueurs and enjoy it on the rocks. Either is perfect for any day of the year. A St. Patrick's Day variation adds a shot of green Crème de Menthe for green color and a minty taste.
Ingredients:
1/2 shot Baileys Irish Cream
1/2 shot Frangelico Hazelnut LiqueurIrish Dream
May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live. Blend all the listed ingredients with ice until smooth, and serve in a frosted pilsner glass. Optional topping of whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles.
Ingredients:
1/2 oz Irish Cream
1/2 oz Hazelnut Liqueur
3/4 oz Brown Creme de Cacao
1 scoop Vanilla Ice CreamIrish Cactus
Love St. Patrick's Day but still want a touch of tequila? The Irish Cactus brings a taste from south of the border by mixing tequila and Irish cream liqueur. It is simple to make and is served on the rocks.
Ingredients:
2 oz Irish cream liqueur
1 oz tequilaIrish Trashcan Punch
It's not really Irish, but it is green and it will kick your you know what. Simply mix all the ingredients together in a big punch bowl (or trash can if you so choose) and serve.
Ingredients:
2 big jugs of green Hawaiian Punch
1L vodka
1L EverclearIrish Trash Can
The above drink is not to be confused with this one. Fill a Collins glass full of ice, then add all liquors and stir. Finally, add a full can of Red Bull on top (as pictured to the right). The Red Bull will float at first, then slowly go down. Watch as your drink slowly turns green.
Ingredients:
1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz light rum
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz peach schnapps
1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1/2 oz triple sec
1 can Red Bull® energy drinkIrish Eyes
If you've developed a crème de menthe habit from all the green-tinted pomp of this holiday, just add Irish whiskey, heavy cream, and ice to it for this creamy lowball that is similar to a White Russian. Great for the song "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
Ingredients:
1 oz Irish whiskey
1/4 oz green crème de menthe
2 oz cream
maraschino cherryIrish Flag
Nothing says St. Patty's day than actually drinking the Irish Flag. First, pour the crème de menthe into a glass. Next, slowly pour the Bailey's Irish cream over the back of a spoon so that it floats on top of the Creme de Menthe. Finally, slowly pour the Grand Marnier over the back of the spoon so that it floats on top of the Bailey's Irish creme and voilà!
Ingredients:
1/3 oz Bailey's Irish Cream (Bailey's)
1/3 oz green crème de menthe
1/3 oz Grand Marnier orange liqueur (some use Butterscotch Schnapps)Irish Coffee
Another traditional sipper, complete with a crown of whipped cream if desired. It is a perfect drink for casual St. Patrick's Day parties or as an after dinner beverage following Irish Stew or Shepherd's Pie.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 oz strong, hot coffee
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
1 tsp brown sugar
1 oz whipping cream (optional)Irish Martini
If your mama always told you not to drink on Sunday, she probably wasn't Irish. Uisce beatha, the Gaelic term for whiskey, literally translates to "water of life," a common euphemism for "holy water." Take that special ingredient of whiskey and add it to a typical martini, making it an Irish version of an old favorite. You coat the chilled cocktail glass with the Irish whiskey, then add in the typical vodka martini.
Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
1/2 oz dry vermouth
1/2 oz Irish whiskey
lemon twist for garnishShamrock Shaker
Looking for something more? This alcoholic beverage combines Kahlua and Amaretto liqueurs with milk. Shake the mixture vigorously and strain it into a chilled cocktail glass. The green and gold powder is for decoration.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz of Kahlua liqueur
2 1/2 oz of milk
1/2 oz of Amaretto liqueur
edible green and gold powderIrish Kiss
Of course, it doesn't have to be all about beer. Korbel California Champagne created its own cocktail, the Irish Kiss. To start, add two drops of green food coloring to 1/2 cup of sugar and mix well. Rub a champagne flute rim with lime and dip it in your green sugar mixture. Fill with champagne and liqueur. You can use the lime for garnish as well.
Ingredients:
4 oz Korbel California Brut Champagne
1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
Green food coloring
1/2 cup of sugarIrish Gold
Often when we think of St. Patrick's Day we want all things to be green, but let's not forget the importance of gold at the end of the rainbow. Combine the the whiskey, schnapps, and juice in a Collins glass filled with ice and top with ginger ale. Add a lime for garnish.
Ingredients:
2 oz Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey
2 oz ginger ale
1 oz peach schnapps
splash of orange juice
lime wheelAbsinthe B-55
That's right I'm bringing Absinthe into the mix. Did you know the United States unbanned at least some Green Fairy products? And it's the right color for St. Patty's Day. Layer these shots in a whiskey glass. Caution, sip slowly or you may end up licking the floor!
Ingredients:
1 shot Absinthe
1 shot coffee liqueur
1 shot Bailey's Irish CreamIrish Black Russian
The Black Russian is the White Russian's dangerous older brother. While the latter drink was made forever hip by its prominent role in the Coen brothers' slacker odyssey The Big Lebowski, the Black Russian carries no such hipster culture baggage. The Irish takes that older brother and adds a twist. To equal parts Kahlua and vodka, add cola and a float top with Guinness to add a head to the drink.
Ingredients:
1 shot vodka
1 shot Kahlua coffee liqueur
1 squirt Coca-Cola
fill with Guinness stoutIrish Depth Charge
May you be in heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you're dead. For one more killer drink, try the depth charge, Irish style. Pour a double shot of vodka into a shot glass and press firmly to the bottom of a pint glass. Fill the bottom with Bass Ale, and careful fill the top with Guinness, creating a Black and Tan. Remove the double shot glass from the drink and have at it.
Ingredients:
2 oz vodka
6 oz Guinness stout
6 oz Bass pale aleAnd remember, no matter what you drink to say the old Irish toast:
"Saint Patrick was a gentleman, who through strategy and stealth,
Drove all the snakes from Ireland, here's a toasting to his health.
But not too many toastings, lest you lose yourself and then,
Forget the good Saint Patrick, and see all those snakes again."0 -

As soon as she had finished parochial school, a bright young girl named Lena shook the dust of Ireland off her shoes and made her way to New York where before long, she became a successful performer in show business. Eventually she returned to her home town for a visit and on Saturday night went to confession in the church which she had always attended as a child. In the confessional Father Sullivan recognized her and began asking her about her work. She explained that she was an acrobatic dancer, and he wanted to know what that meant. She said she would be happy to show him the kind of thing she did on stage.
She stepped out of the confessional and within sight of Father Sullivan, she went into a series of cartwheels, leaping splits, handsprings and backflips.
Kneeling near the confessional, waiting their turn, were two middle-aged
ladies. They witnessed Lena's acrobatics with wide eyes, and one said to the other: "Will you just look at the penance Father Sullivan is givin' out this night, and me without me bloomers on!"0 -

Hi Ya Goils! It took me 3 hours on phn with tech support den I figured it out myself, so on line again...yippee.
WaWa - yes da Pub Crawl is 6 bars/casinos. Eberbody pays $25 n gits an arm band, which entitles them to 2 free beer/well drinks at each stop plus food at last stop, our bar. Eberbody starts da walk/dwinks at 10am, wearing green, natch, and local press is there, pictures in paper all dat. Even hab a Bag-Pipes guy in full regalia that walks n plays wid dem all. It's only bout 1 1/2 mile walk, but by time dey git to our bar/casino, dey be staggerin. Den wese always puts up a buffet wif all da usual Pat's Day foods. Eberbody habs a gr8 time. Me n DH gets slammed bout 1pm. Imagine 120 dwunk peoples, green peoples, lol, walkin in at same time, belly up to da bar, demanding der 2 free dwinks.
