Wow...that is one heck of a stockpile of logs..
i will throw one on...
about roses...I don't have any myself and know next to nothing about them
except that I just love them...hard to pass one I don't take a second look at
and maybe even smell if I am close enough...

SoCal - Yes, there is something about roses isn't there? I love flowers, especially what I call "basic" flowers - roses (the natural looking kind, not the scary long stem Beauty and the Beast red ones!), daisies and sunflowers are my favorite.
G, SoCal, Nam (and everyone!) -- It's great to be seen! :-) Been a really long time since I've been online, but all is well. Busy summer with work (knock wood, I'm a contractor in the financial industry so this was a tough year), Warren and our new puppy Molly.
I first came to bco in May 2005 when I was dx. I did some research and posted on the June/July 2005 chemo threads quite a bit. By January 2006 I was done with treatment, and my chemo thread buddies had started a new site off bco that I didn't know how to set up on my computer. Something about a fire? I gradually logged on less and less as I tried to resume my life that spring and summer. By Sept I was back looking for something, I couldn't quite explain it, but I needed some connection to other women in my situation. It was then that I found Moving Beyond and the Circle Girls thread. I read it for a bit, and it seemed like everyone knew each other. I was a little tentative about jumping in, I had never done anything online like that before, but one day I submitted a short post. I was welcomed with open arms, and I will forever be thankful for that. You guys were my lifeline. I will never forget that first Holiday Card exchange, receiving cards from women from all over the US and Canada. It was a really special experience. The women on the Circle Girls thread got me through the toughest year of my life, the year after my dx and tx. This thread will always hold a special place in my heart, and will always be "home" to me on bco. So a big thank you to each and every one of you.

Colleen,
I think many of us feel the same way. I know many of us seem to find our way back around the anniversary - remember so many that we have lost and the strength we gained from each of them and each other.
Everytime I see a post from you, it brings a smile. Tell Warren all his "aunts" said hi.

Well ladies I will set awhile and watch and pray. You know that prayers are never wasted.
Val now that is some wood should last awhile. I will roast marshmellows. If you want to join come on by. Always time for one another.
I guess Labor Day weekend has everyone staying busy playing. God bless.

Good Sunday evening to all,
Want to bring my DIL's mother, Grace, to the center of the circle. She is in the last days/hours of her fight with ovarian cancer . Please keep Grace and her family in your prayers for an easy, gentle passing.
Tossing on another log.
Hugs to all, Brenda

Good morning, Ladies.
Good to see so many of you back in the circle. {{Colleen}} We were in chemo about the same time. I started mine in April of 2005 (maybe March, can't recall right off). So good to see you here.
Lisa, a canoe trip around that beautiful lake is a lovely idea. How peaceful it looks.
Brenda, My thoughts and prayers are with Grace and her family. Hugs to you too as your daughter must deal with this very difficult time.
Gather near...

If you read the beginning of this thread, you will see that the wagon circle has names of many that needed the love and support of friend listed by Gina.
Mena is one of the ladies mentioned. Her humor, strength, encouragment, struggles, and courage will be missed. Mena had her healing this afternoon. Sending love and prayers to her family and friends from the wagon circle.

Thanks for letting us know about Mena, Nannie. So sad. I remember when I first came here she would always make me smile. She had such a great sense of humor. RIP dear friend. I know you are hugging your daughter tonight. We will miss you.

Hello girls,
So nice to see so many familiar faces...
yes, Mena was included in the very begining. She had fought for so long and so hard. I don't think there was a chemo or protocol she didn't try. She did everything she could.
One thing that always amazed me about Mena was her heart. It was so big! She raised her ex's children, where most women would say, take your kids and go, she said, I will keep and love them...
She was a very funny lady. One night, very late, my phone rang and I heard this voice and I knew it was her, just by how she sounded. It was the first time I ever talked to her.
I had been following her last weeks here, it reminded me so much of how Ferne passed. And so I want to share the same song that I posted for her....
Mena, you are in heaven now with all our sisters who have gone before us, free of pain, free to be the real YOU again.
God bless you,
Fly!

Neesie, I pray for you and Fred always...
Hollyann, I will add your DH and friend and DD to my prayers as well.
And love and hugs to all who need them.
It is getting chilly, we don't seem to need more wood! We have quite a stockpile, so how about some hot chocolate?

You know.............tonight is one of those nights that I just don't know what to do with myself. After hearing about Mena, I headed here............where we all originally met. And what do I find? All these wonderful Hugs and prayers being sent to my DH and I as we enter this last phase.............What more can I say?
Hugs,
Denise (Neesie)
