    Hi All~

After trekking back over the mountains, I'm home for 2 glorious days

On the way home I drove an extra hour-and-a-half to see my daughter carol, who is in the 8th grade, run her cross-country race. She loves to run, but is usually in the middle to the end of the pack. Today she ran the race of her life and got 10th place which meant she got to go up on the awards stage and get her ribbon. She fell into my arms and we both cried. I can't begin to tell you all how much I love my kids!

So, I get home and my wonderful husband has a gift for me...A new LAPTOP computer! He knows how much keeping in touch with all of you means, so he got me a computer to take to rads with me. I feel so spoiled and cared for!

Radiation went fine. Kind of uneventful except for meeting some really funny folks. I'll have to tell you about them tomorrow when I have more time. The only hard part was the first real treatment day; I had to be on the table just over an hour without moving. They had to redo a bunch of films and recalibrate something. Both my arms were numb by the time we were done. Just before we got done, and I felt like I couldn't stand another second, my favorite song, Unwritten came on the radio! I love it when things like that happen. The ladies that worked on me were SO nice. They got me hot-packs for my shoulders and rubbed my back...SO sweet.

SO..Enough about me...I'm so sorry to hear about the ones in our circle that are having troubles, losses and pain. Part of the way home I drive through the most beautiful mountain pass. I was praying for all of you as I drove. It was raining on my trip (again), but when I got to the pass the sun came steaming through the clouds and lit the edge of the lake with golden light. It made me feel so warm and loved. I hope that you all have a wonderful night and I will check in soon. Keep your eyes out for those little miracles...they are out there if you look closely.

    Hugs to all,
    Deb C.

    Hey Deb,

Mom calls them God sightings! This should be the worst treatment, when they adjust everything. It will get very routine, did for me.

What a great family! You raised them good!!!

    Take care,

Good morning everyone. It was a quiet night, and it is a quiet morning. I woke up later this morning. Daylight is already here, missed the sunrise - darn.

Im still yearning for those summer nights. My oh my, it was only 2 weeks ago. Didnt need blankets or sweaters. The warm breeze was cooling and freshing. Now there is a chill in the air. Sitting by the campfire now and have a nice cozy blanket to keep me warm. Just took my first sip of coffee. It always tastes so good in the morning.

All of these pictures are so great. You all know how to get a smile out of me.

Carrie: I think your horse is just beautiful. And what a wonderful name "Prance." I love the white star on his brow. Bet he is as quick as lightening when he needs to be.

I havent been on the boards so much this week, just havent had time cause of work. But I am worried about rhymeee. I havent seen any posts since her procedure. Hope your ok rhymee.

Well gonna sit here quietly for a while. Tracy - we are here for you and your children. So young to have to deal with bc and then have to deal with the sudden loss of your husband. You are not alone! We will encircle you and stand strong. We are right by your side.

Oh my, I just got a burst of energy. Gonna have an omelet bar ready for when you wake up. You name the ingrediants. I just had a western omelet myself and it tasted great.

Also have different things to drink this morning. In addition to coffee, there is Hot tea with healing properties, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider. Come on down to the campfire and enjoy.

Just a quick swig of Niki's latte and I am off to the range.
I promised some of my native friends to go rock gathering for lava rocks that are used in sweat lodge ceremonies. There is a spot about 150 miles from here where you can find them in a river bed. So I shall miss all of you for a day or so. THe one blessing is that we drive the cowboy trail on the way so it's a great ride. click here if you want to more info.

    http://www.thecowboytrail.com/

Reminds me of Deb's posting of coming over the mountain. Being out in the country has some advantages.

Just about time for brining to cattle in from the summer range. So after the hodown we'd better plan a trail ride.

Went to a sweat lodge the nite before last and did lots of praying for all the sisters in the circle and for those yet to come. I know that the spirits are watching out for all of us.

I just got home from the hospital, my dad is hanging on, condition very poor, his brother and sister, neice and nephew are flying in from Wales on Monday Sept 11th. I am praying he hangs on long enough to see them, then he can go in peace.
I don't have much of a relationship with his wife, they have been married for about 18yrs now and she was the one my dad was cheating with when he was married to my mum.
She had done her very best to keep him from his family and for the most part she has been successful. I brought my sister to see him in the hospital tonight, it has been 18 long years since she spoke to him, he was asleep when we got there, thank goodness no one else was there. He opened his eyes when she gave him a kiss on the cheek and he had a smile from ear to ear. Hello love he said. I cried like a baby, all three of us together for the first time in 18 yrs. I have been in a very tenuous relationship with my dad for a while but she had not even laid eyes on him for all these years.
The oncologist spoke very frankly to the family today, "End of life care" is what she wrote, I want to take him home with us but my stepmother refuses to let us.
I guess in a way it's better in the hospital, at least she can't refuse anyone entry to the room.
Sorry for rambling but so many bittersweet thoughts running through my head at the minute.
    I love you girls.
Praying for comfort and safety for all my dear friends requiring care tonight and always.

I'm so glad the three of you had some time together. I understand how this is a time to soul search and sort things out within yourself. Peace of mind wishes for all of you!

Tina: What a sad and heartfelt story. Im glad you and your sister were able to be alone with your dad. And Im sure he felt a sense of peace having you there. Hugs to you. This has got to be a difficult time.

Vickie: The news about Trenton went national yesterday. Was watching TV about it on CNN. This is sad. Looks like his mom may have been involved. As time goes on, things dont look so good for him.

Sunday morning - watch is here. Raining cats and dogs. I have a huge TeePee set up. Its nice and warm in here. Coffee is brewing. I went for a walk yesterday and found the strangest weed. So my tent is open. Come smoke em peace pipe with me. But watch out! You will get hungry from it.

Anyways, as you all slowly wake up, come on over to my tent. Its a great morning to just sit, talk, and reflect. I hope everyone felt safe and comforted last night. When you wake up, dont forget the boots. Its really muddy!!

Just dropping by to check in.

Tina, I am so very glad that you and your sister had some time alone with your Dad. What a hard time and difficult situation you are in. It had to be so hard emotionally to watch your Dad and sister after 18 long years. I am glad that you got her to come though - says so much about you. You are certainly in our thoughts, heart and prayers as your family travels through a difficult and emotionally charged time.

Oh, Nicki, I hadn't seen anything on TV about Trenton. When Vicki mentioned that the mother was found dead at her parents home, I wondered but prayed my thoughts were not true. What pain we inflict on others and ourselves sometimes.

Vicki, I do hope you are enjoying your time in Florida. My daughter and granddaughter are coming home Wed. and I can't wait to see them. Lilah is 18 months now - she will be lots of fun!!!!!!!!!

Shepherd's pie and coffee sounds great. Bringing wood to keep the fire going.

Brenda: They said on the news they found the mom in her grandparents home who died from an apparent suicide. They said she refused to take a polygraph test earlier this week. Sounds pretty grim. I praying Trenton will be found.

Oh, Nicki, I so feel for this family. A missing child is heartbreaking but then the mother and suicide!! I know the pain of suicide well and it stays with you forever. (My Dad and then 5 years later my nephew on my son's birthday). Oh, we do need to pray for Trenton. It does sound grim. This just makes me cry.

I copied this from my Yahoo home page headline stories:
    Quote:

New research has shown that men bond together and cooperate well in the face of adversity to protect their interests more than women, which could explain why war is almost exclusively a male business, according to Professor Mark van Vugt of the University of Kent in southern England

I don't think those that conducted this study have met the Circle Girls or fought this kind of war.

Sheppards Pie: A combination of ground beef or lamb, mashed potatoes, cheese, and seasonings.

Well, thats the Italian way lol. And its not usually eaten for breakfast, but certainly sounded good on a wet, cool, rainy morning at the circle.

Hey Circle Girls...If I do nothing else, I come here daily...love this place...hate what I read sometimes, but the support and love are overwhelming...the cyber connection is truly a big part of my day...is that sad, sick or pathetic or what?

Tina...geez, honey, I lost my dad in January, and we were very close...you take good care of yourself and know that my prayers are with you and your family. I'm glad you and your sister and dad got to be together...bittersweet...of course, I'd want to bitch-slap his wife, but that's because of my own experience...I'm sure you have way too much class...hang on and know that we are all with you in spirit.

Vickie...I didn't see the CNN thing about Trenton...omg...I will continue to pray for him and his mom...what a tragedy...

Tracy...if you're out there...still praying for you and your family, too...one day at a time...one minute at a time...It must seem impossible...just keep putting one foot in front of the other, numb as you are...

Chemosabi...I didn't know Italians made Shepherd's pie...do they use mozarella cheese hahahahah...I'm 1/2 Italian and never ate Shepherd's pie...

Rhymee...call me as soon as you get home!

Oh, I just watched "Boys Don't Cry" for the first time...heavy...had to cover my eyes several times...

Last night I watched "Find Me Guilty"...true story with Vin Diesel...hard to believe it's true...mob stuff...funny and very interesting...good for those who like mob related drama...yeah, girls, I have a dvd in my wagon...oh and for those who like Andy Garcia...he's in it, too...

Ok, running to the outhouse that Denise does not use hahahah...gonna scrawl some rumors about her...heck, she'll never see them...hahahah...jk...

AlaskaDeb...are you home or what? How are rads going?

Lini...shots tonight? Or are you scared?

Ronda...welcome to Circle Girls...come, sit, warm yourself and your daughter by the fire...enjoy the glow of the heat and love...

NS: Hello sista...did I ever say thank you for starting this thread?

    Peggy...you need an assignment...one that makes us laugh...let's see...ok...chemo brain...let's just see what Shepherd's pie looks like...the Italian one!...Mena...xo
