TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS

Margo - I did have the transvaginal ultrasound last year. It turned out the cyst on my left ovary was growing and it was then that my Gyn recommended the oopherectomy/hysterectomy because of my breast cancer status. It turned out the cyst was benign but I was happy to have the ovaries removed and not have to worry about them any longer. Good luck to your sister. To me the procedure wasn't that bad. My Gyn is great and it went really well. A cruise to Mexico sounds like a great 50th birthday present!
CY - My thoughts are with you. Peace be with you and yours. May you have no pain or suffering during this very difficult time. May you and your loved ones be comforted. May you feel the love of all your sisters who truly care for you. You are a beloved sister.0 -
Hey sweetheart! The campfires are all burning, smell it?! mmmm! Sure do love you babes! Cuddle up!
All my heart,
Deese

When I stepped out of my wagon, I saw many - slowly walking toward the middle of the cirlce candles in their hands. So many - just walking with sadness on their faces. Not aware of what was going on, I just followed. For some reason, this morning - it seemed like a long walk. The air was cold, but not a hint of wind. The light of the candles didnt flicker. As I got closer to the circle, I could feel the warmth. I could see the fire, shining brightly in this darkest of hours. The circle was huge, and someone gently grabbed my hand and pulled me in. I thought I heard a bird singing, but that couldnt be - its winter. But indeed it was the beautiful sound of a bird, singing its beautiful song.
CY: We are gathered. Holding hands. You are surrounded by thousand of candles. We are all making sure not one single light goes out. You would be so proud. Its the biggest group I have seen gathered in along time. We are with you and your family. We will stay here, we will stand watch, we will protect you, and make sure healing light comes your way. You have touched the lives of so many - you have inspired so many. We are with you.

Cy, we never got to meet but yet when I was having some problems
who PM'd me and kept after me until she made sure I got checked out - YOU.
You are a special person, one that has touched the hearts and lives of us all.
We have gathered around you Cy, we'll keep you warm, we'll talk to you about the fun times and our sweet memories.
Into the circle, you bring the very best and the best of ourselves too.
May our Lord hold you and your family close and give you strength for this journey. Cy, you stole my heart - my heart is breaking too.

For those with dial up - this is a vidoe of James Taylor singing "You've got a friend" written by Carol King.
Here are the words.
Verse 1.
When you're down, and troubled.
And you need some loving care.
And nothing, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me.
And soon I will be there.
To brighten up, even your darkest night.
Chorus.
You just call out my name.
And you know wherever I am.
I'll come runnin', to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall.
All you have to do is call.
And I'll be there.
You've got a friend.
Verse 2.
If the sky above you.
Grows dark and full of clouds.
And that old north wind begins to blow.
Keep your head together.
And call my name out loud.
Soon you'll hear me knockin' at your door
Chorus.
You just call out my name.
And you know wherever I am.
I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall.
All you have to do is call.
And I'll be there.
Bridge.
Ain't it good to know, that you've got a friend.
When people can be so cold.
They'll hurt you, and desert you.
And take your soul if you let them.
Oh, but don't you let them.
Chorus.
You just call out my name.
And you know wherever I am.
I'll come runnin', to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer or fall.
All you have to do is call.
And I'll be there.
You've got a friend.Posted by: karina - horsens, Denmark 0 -

OK - everyone watch out. Since we are all gathered at the campfire I got a litle busy this morning. Seems like a light goes on inside me when I know there are many who are feeling sad and need some comfort. Not much of a cook, but I stopped at the bakery right just beyond the canyons. Got the best coffee cakes. One is called a pizza cake. You pick a slice you want. Cheese, cherries, blueberries, strawberries or pineapple. Of course there was this gigantic double chocolate one too that I just couldnt pass up. Im good at making fritatas, so for those dieting I just made a huge egg fritata. Made with egg beaters, shreaded low fat romano and mozzarella cheese. One sausgage boiled to get rid of the fat and then crumbled up into tiny pieces. Its cooking now and will ready when you come on down.
The lodge is full but there are many campfires outside - the place is surrounded by many.
I brought a bottle of Jamesons and Bushmills. So we can take a wee sip here and there. Made my hot apple cider. Two batches, one with Captain Morgans rum, and one without any alcohol at all.
So please come. Share some stories and hugs for CY.
There is a funny thing that sticks out most in my mind when I was going through this journey. It was right after I was diagnosed. Every time I got a report it was worst than the one before. Then I heard my sentinel node was positive 8 days after my bil. mast. I went absolutely bonkers.
Now this was the summer we were having a dry spell in Chicago. Hadnt rained for days and most all the flowers were just fading away from thirst. I decided to go to office max. I wanted to type letters for my friends and needed ink. Excited, I ran back home. Had picked the prettiest paper to print on. I put the ink in my computer and it was dry! Dry I tell you. Did I have the receipt? No I didnt. Who thinks to save a receipt for printer ink for Petes sake.
So I jump in my jeep and drive back to the office max. They wouldnt exchange the ink cartridge cause I didnt have a receipt. I think that is when I had my first of many total breakdowns. I found myself screaming at them. I looked around and everyone in the store was looking at me. It was jut before I started chemo and was saying things like "how can you do this to someone who has just been diagnosed with cancer. Have you no heart." Oh my and some other things I cant even print here. Didnt have money for the first cartridge so certainly couldnt buy a second one. I think I even scared myself a little that I would totally break down in public like that.
I go stomping out of the store. My face flushed and covered wet from all the crying I did. Kept saying to myself when is this black cloud gonna leave me. I really had enough.
I jump in my jeep, top down and was on my way home. All of a sudden a big rain came. Poured on me. I got totally drenched. I get home and my DH asks what the heck happened. I said it poured - didnt you get rain? When we looked further, the passengers side of the jeep was not wet. That dang storm just poured on me - no where else.
This is a true story. DH and I still laugh at it. That was the day the black cloud left my head.

Story of the day I was diagnosed,
My sister and I went to the surgeon's office to get the results of my biopsy. I'm so naive, I'm still thinking it's a cyst and what a giant waste of time. My surgeon is a hippie-looking guy with a long ponytail (for those who need a little visual) and his office was tiny with papers everywhere and barely room for two extra chairs.
Anyway, we sit down and he says, "I have good news and bad news. You have a "small" (that was the good news) breast cancer. My sis and I can't speak, so he goes on to tell us about mastectomy or lumpectomy and rads, and that with lumpectomy that breast will be smaller. Still, sis and I haven't said a word ... we're in shock! Finally, I speak and the only thing that comes out of my mouth is, "Well, at least my boobs will be the same size then!" My sis and the surgeon just stared at me with their mouth's open!!
The crash and burn came later ...0 -
Nicki and all others.....
I reach out my hand to join you in the circle, and light my candle from yours. We are in harmony. This is what the circle is for. God bless you all, but most of all God bless CY.

Hello Everyone: Valerie asked me to post this here too in the wagon circle. She found a wonderful site where you can light a candle for CY.
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/view.cfm?l=eng&c=4347149
Now when you get there click on search. Put in bc under group search and you can light a candle and see all the candles that have been lit for CY.
Thanks Valerie
