Happy Saturday -- golly, the east coast is still having many problems. I hope it is soon settled down. It must be horrendous.
Hope you are all going to have a great day. We are going to get rain later....but for once I won't complain. It will be nothing compared to what others are going through just now.
Love & peace,
Jackie

Called mom & dad. No phone, no cell. Seems internet is down because I tried my dad through skype. He has an Ipad still no go. I hope they are keeping warm. No electric means no heat. Moms in her mid 70's dad is 80. They are down the Cape so only about a 1'+ expected there.

I was thinking about your family last night. My fingers are crossed that they are safe and warm. Let us know when you reach them.

Electric back on as of 12pm CT! Yay!

Great news, Lago. Have you been able to reach your parents?
My DD was lucky... she left Joburg, SA Thursday on the first flight out to NY. All others were canceled. She arrived at 6AM Fiday, just in time to get home to Brooklyn and wait out the storm. She starts a new job Monday, and don't know how understanding they would be if she was still out of the country. NY got lucky, only about a foot of snow.

Take care all.

Adey, that is a great present! My daughter hasn't yet been to Namibia, but she may go sometime. Her husband is South African, so they visit his family, and this trip they spent time in Zimbabwe. Life sure happens in ways you least expect!

Calling rents in a few minutes. Just came home from visiting a friend that is currently in that condo in the south loop (Rush).
Last night's dinner was fun. The DH and I had a nice lunch as Shaws to celebrate too. OK I need to start diet tomorrow before my fat jeans don't fit anymore. I am always my heaviest this time of year.

Contentment comes as the infallible result of great acceptances, great humilities--of not trying to make ourselves this or that, but of surrendering ourselves to the fullness of life--of letting life flow through us.

Dropping in to say hi this morning. I'm hearing a huge amt. of thunder so I know rain is the forecast here. Still hoping and praying all those in the nor'easter will be ok.
Love & peace,

Raining in the city. Did the power walk through the zoo but had to cut it 10 minutes short because the rain drops were getting too big. No powerwalk through the park though. Still to icy. But it's nice at 37 degrees!

Oooo, you live near Lincoln Park! I promised myself I'd go to the zoo after reading/seeing Life of Pi. First nice day and I'm there!

I live across the street from the Nature Museum on the north end of the zoo… Let me know. If I'm free and can do a quick walk by and say hello, or maybe not so quick.

Completed the 5k Romp the Stomp snowshoe walk yesterday. Plenty of snow and fun with some great friends at the beautiful Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska MN. We were the second largest fund raising group! I will post a link to some pictures if i can figure it out.

Couldn't decide so there are two today. Enjoy !!
Before anything can be planted, the soil must be ready. We must allow the softening mulch of God’s forgiveness to give air and breath to the soil of our hearts. Prejudices—taught in our childhood or imposed by our society—must be released. Fear must be replaced by trust, and suspicion by childlike hope and acceptance. These changes in the soil will not come easily or without sweat, but any good gardener knows that preparing the soil is the most important of all labors. It gives the seeds a chance to grow and eventually, to exhibit all that is hidden in its complex genetic structure. -Peggy Benson If we make our goal to live a life of compassion and unconditional love, then the world will indeed become a garden where all kinds of flowers can bloom and grow. -Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross

Sorry...I got the dreaded marks which are not very attractive to go through to find the message.
Life is often messy, uncertain, and unpredictable. Sometimes it's a string of troubles that seem to never end. That's normal. Ups and downs are normal. Being ill on occasion is normal. Feeling peaceful and happy are normal. Occasional low-energy days are normal. According to Chinese medicine, it is accepted as natural that we fluctuate from being in balance to being out of balance. Peace of mind comes from not attaching a great deal of significance to either state. We simply note our moods and physical states and gently move toward balance as best we can, accepting it all as part of the flow of life.

I got a call from my general practitioner tonight because my recent Pap smear came back with "atypical abnormal cells" and she wants me to go for a retest with an on/gyn next.... She said tamoxifen could be the culprit....or maybe just a simple inflammation....or the chemo.... Or the dreaded C word..... I'm a little uneasy tonight..... But trying not to completely FREAK without answers..... Anyone have/had any abnormal paps that turned out to be nothing? Or should I be absolutely freaking out? She did say "normally I have patients wait 3-6 months to retest but given your history I think you should check it out again in the next couple weeks". So, that's not too alarming urgent, right?
Why can't I catch a break? Just once? We're leaving for disney (where i was diagnosed almost 2 years ago!!!) in 11 days..... UGH!!!! :-/0 -
My daughter in law had that a couple of times and it was absolutely nothing. She went on to have two kids and
now she's fine. So easy to say and so hard to do, but don't freak out yet. At this moment it's nothing. If it's something you'll have plenty of time to freak out! Remember, 99% of the things we worry about never happen.
What a waste!

Madmom abnormalities on Tamox can happen and it doesn't automatically mean the "C". Hang in there and keep us posted.

Madismom,
I had atypical abnormal cells a few years ago. Had years of uneventful paps before and several since. Just got tested a couple of weeks ago and am fine. It's actually quite common.
Yes, being on Tam can make you nervous, but it's the uterous, not the cervex that is involved there. Though they can find discarded uterine cells on the cervex. I'm sure all with be fine.
