Madismom -- this is just another challenge ( and I'm sure like Lago and the others say will end up being mental ) to help you grow stronger, braver, tougher, and wiser. You have come through a lot.....I do remember your beginnings here and you came through so much and did it well. Sending lots of love, hugs, well wishes and positive energy for an all clear report.
Love & peace,
Jackie

Madisonsmommy - so sorry about it. I know it doesn't help to say "don't worry". Just know it is common and we are here for you! I found out a few weeks ago I need an oophrectomy. I keep putting off scheduling it. The thought of another surgery makes me want to vomit.......that is making the colonoscopy I was suppose to get sound so much more desireable.......

mdg colonsocopy is easy. It's drinking that crap before hand that sucks. Tastes like toxic waste but doable. They gave me twilight for the colonoscopy… slept through the entire thing.

Madismommy, my 28 year old daughter had off pap smears too. She totally freaked but later testing showed it was just "something" and not anything like cancer. Do be sure to follow up until you get the totally clear pap or a letter saying all is ell as she had trouble getting insurance when she wanted new insurance as it was not closed on that indeed the pap smear was okay. The new insurance saw abnormal pap and jumped.
Regarding the colonoscopy. I feel I should get a diploma I have had so many. Best suggestion I got I got from the nurse. I hated the taste of that nasty stuff and would gag (you won't...I gag easily) and so she said chew on pepprmints (the really strong ones WHITE ones) just before you take a gulp. Worked like a charm. Also on the last one, the doctor said that when everything is coming out clear, you can stop taking the crappy liquid. ASK YOUR DOCTOR BEFOREHAND IF HE/SHE AGREES. All that came out of me, as I refused to eat the day before was a lot of peppermint water. Be certain that if the doctor okays the peppermints, you only do white ones......no candy canes for this
Good luck!
Susan

Wow Susan I'm going to ask in 8 years when I have to do it again. I didn't gag but felt like it. I'm hoping though in 8 years there will be an improvement. Hopefully I will remember

Madismommy-So sorry you're feeling stressed. As everyone has said, abnormal paps happen all the time for a lot of reasons and rarely is it cancer. Easier said then done, I know, but try not to worry. Enjoy your family time.

Love it Spunky!
Madismom~I have had that atypical, ab"normal" pap in the past. Like all of this I think it's the "unknown" that is the hardest! Hang in there and hope, pray, meditate, exercise, breathe deep..., whatever it is that works best for you..., & know that we are all here with you to support you, listen to you, and comfort you.., ALWAYS!!!

Gorgeous, Jackie! Thank you! Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! I'm off to have my consult with the radiologist. Today is 2 wks PFC. My hair is trying to grow very slowly but it's something! My energy is slowly returning day by day. Need to do a lil bit more exercise to keep me going! But I'm trying to get back to the swing of things with meal planning and running the three kids all over with their activities! Looking forward to a nice dinner out with my hubby tomorrow night! Blessings to all!

Two today because they both looked so nice to me:
Caring passionately about something isn't against nature, and it isn't against human nature. It's what we're here to do.
Annie DillardPeople who take the risk make a tremendous discovery: The more things you care about, and the more intensely you care, the more alive you are. This capacity for caring can illuminate any relationship: marriage, family, friendships--even the ties of affection that often join humans and animals. Each of us is born with some of it, but whether we let it expand or diminish is largely up to us. To care, you have to surrender the armor of indifference. You have to be willing to act, to make the first move.

Sorry for the deletion.....apparently in the site I'm on, you can't use two different messages for copying.

During your life, everything you do and everyone you meet rubs off in some way. Some bit of everything you experience stays with everyone you've ever known, and nothing is lost. That's what is eternal, these little specks of experience in a great, enormous river that has no end.

Thanks ladies for talking me off the ledge the past week after I got the pap result news! I have an appointment set up with a regular ob/gyn for Mar. 19th, I talked to the doctor's nurse about scheduling everything and she answered a bunch of my questions and helped ease my mind quite a bit. I guess the hpv virus is a huge factor in irregular paps and how they are handled, well she needed my results of that test before she would move forward with biopsy, etc.... and so i managed to get my pap results faxed to her, the hpv was negative and she also said that the area that came back "abnormal a-typical" is very very small and because hpv and my previous brca test was negative than I'm in no greater risk of cervical cancer than any other 37 year old with an irregular pap. With my bc history i do need to retest on Mar. 19th and than we take it from there. I atleast feel SO much better, I honestly had a shovel in hand, getting ready to dig my grave. My mind can really play games with me.... i immediately think the WORST outcome. UGH...
Anyways, thanks SO much for the input and the words of wisdom.... i can always count on all of you to "get it" no matter what I'm dealing with!!!
Hope you all had a fantastic Valentine's Day!!!!

I've been there many times myself, shovel in hand. Yes, I do "get" it. Glad you're feeling relieved!

camillegal it's in the air this week. I too have woken up around 3am several times this week. Couple of times I was up for a while before I could go back to sleep.

Well, I wonder what's in the air-I've been sleeping well until the last two nights-awake really, really early.

We are all flowers in the Great Spirit's garden. We share a common root, and the root is Mother Earth. The garden is beautiful because it has different colors in it, and those colors represent different traditions and cultural backgrounds.

Morning....hmmm, I had one wakeful night in the last four ----- wow, it is a little contagious. I usually think it is the weather changes that are a bit too rapid, and my whole ( sleep too ) system reacts. My nasal passages, my muscles seem to tense ( charlie horses ) and I'm a little stiffer everywhere.
I'll be very glad when the CHANGES start to produce a VALID Spring. I'm ready to quit the see-saw effect and get into something that is a bit more consistent. We have been doing a sort of hot and cold here....interspersed with some gray and some rain.
Overall....I'm glad to have these days -- the alternative right now is un-thinkable, but I can long a little bit for better and be all the happier when it arrives.
Love & peace,
Jackie
