The Illinois Ladies team is only $4 from our $6K goal. If it doesn't go up by the time I wake up you know what I'm going to do ;)

The potential of the average person is lke a huge ocean un-sailed, a mew continent un-explored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some grat good.

Hi, I haven't been on this site for a year! I'm doing great, lost weight, and am exercising more. I saw a thread about walk donations and just made a small one (spouse is unemployed right now). Thank you to all who walk!! I did my local cancer center walk again this year and enjoyed it. Still NED and no side effects to Tamoxifen. I am lucky. Go, Illinois Ladies!

Hi.....not here often. I am back at work for a teacher who had emergency spinal surgery. Looking forward to the status of "retired" again, although it is all good.

If you haven't seen this video and you are sick, tired or worried or know someone who is, watch it.

Welcome back Nancy. Glad to hear you're doing so well. Thank you for your generous donation to Team Illinois Ladies. I hope next year you can walk with us. I just got back myself. I had to clean up then My DH and I went for lunch. We will be posting pictures soon. I will let you know where the link is. We'll post a few on here as well. It was a nice day. The sun came out and the wind died down a little for the walk. I just need to relax a bit. Been up since 5:30, on site working since 7am.

    Zap thanks for the video.

While the strides event was very uplifting we did have a tragic death in the family yesterday morning. My nephew past away in a tragic accident along with the person who tried to help him. News story link I've tried to put this out of my mind for the event but now it's time to deal with it.

Lauren, I am so sorry to hear this news. Had I known earlier when I saw you I would have given you extra hugs. So very sorry about your loss. I was very happy to see you today. So glad we got to walk part of it together. Thanks for taking the lead for the team. You ROCK girl!

Lago..... very, very sad. Especially so since the original issue was just the vehicle. So two lives are gone. Condolences to you and your family along with healing hugs.

    Peace and love

I need to have another surgery to fix my reconstructed left breast. Although I liked my plastic surgeon, I do not like the results, and am concerned he doesn't seem to even see the problem the way I do.

I was referred to Dr. Fenner in Highland Park by my oncologist, and liked his style and what he had to say about how he would address and fix the problems. Anyone had personal experience with him?

Because the two doctors had very different views on what could and should be done, I am considering going for a third opinion. (sigh) Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

    Lauren,

I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew. Please give your hubby a hug for me. Now I understand why he was so introspective at the ACS Strides walk. How hard this must be for everyone in the family.

Littlebird3 There are lots of good PS in the Chicago area. Also each have their own style. My PS is Dr. John Q Cook in Chicago & Winetka. But do note he is out of network so there is a bit more out of pocket for his services with a PPO (But Rush is usually in-network so all other charges are in-network). He is with Rush so if you are on an HMO you would need to see if he's on there at all.

I have also heard/seen good things with Dr. Fine at Northwestern and Dr. Kouris at Rush (although Kouris scared the shit out me when I went to him but I now know several women who went to him and just love him).

Please note that my DH was taking the photos. Through his eyes the picture is not worth taking if I'm not in them. I have a few on my iphone that are not of me!

ShannonR Illinois ladies is not an exclusive team. You have posted on this thread so that makes you an official Illinois Lady in my book. Everyone is connected to Illinois Ladies. It's like 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon. ;)
