Illinois ladies facing bc

cateyz2 I do look normal. My mom said it was about time I got some boobs. The are proportional with my body. Also implants tend to be wider than the real thing so I probably look like a C. Yeah I'm happy. I just "flashed" yesterday showing a newly diagnosed gal. She was pretty excited to see how real her reconstruction might look. I think she was totally blown away by the nipple recon. She's about to have surgery.
Speaking of which. Calling all of you who went to Dr. Kim and Dr. Fine at Northwestern. This gal is trying to decide between the two. Can you PM me off list if you are willing to talk with her? Email or phone number will due. Will tell you more later. thanx

I am facing the same questions that Katey is - in fact she had her BMX the week before me & we go to the same PS. For me he has been switching back & forth about which style to use. He started with the 410s then switched to style 20, back to 410s and as of last night back to 20s. He said last night that he thinks the 410s would look "matronly" on me & he thinks I should have a "sexy bounce" which the 20s would give me.
I have told him all along that I wasn't pleased with what I had been given naturally and wanted to be bigger but I also didn't want to be huge or look fake. I was a 32/34 A/B previously. Last night he did the first of two overfills so I am currently at 600/550 (lefty that had radiation wasn't cooperating). So he is thinking Style 20 550cc. But I am unsure if I should get that 2nd overfill and just have him go with 500cc for the permanent? It is hard to say if I am happy with the size I am at right now because they just keep getting wider and don't seem to project as much as I had expected. Everyone keeps saying the permanent ones will look much differnent than the TEs too so I just don't know what to do and I want to make the right decision the first time.
Lago - what did you mean when you said you "don't look normal"? I have heard you say before that you have a small frame - are you saying they are too big for your frame? If you dont' mind me asking, what style & size did you end up with?

Today I asked him what brand he uses (natrelle). He said he was one of the few ps in the country they chose to try them when they came out. And said he wouldnt know shape til I was more specific or saw what size I wanted to be. Its interesting he is not focused on one way or another, but what should work best for me. I got another 50cc on the right, so 200 there now, 100 left, feels ok.

I meant I look normal. I have Allergan Natrelle Style 15 Midrange (397cc). As I mentioned I was barely a 34B (used to be a 32A when I was younger). I was not full at all.

Aviva are you going with the rounds or the gummies? I noticed mine have kinda fluffed lol but they are soft and not hard like some women say i was very surprised . My right side looks really good but my left is kinda off a bit like it needs to be more center i see my ps again tuesday so I have a lot of questions i have the rounds he said that he thought they were the best for me and they are sailine filled to 800 cc's. He also had said I had a deep pocket that he had to do a lot of stitching to close it from when I had my BMX . I have tried on some of my old bras and a few do fit good go figure . I gave my daughter most of them but the sports bra is really comfortable never thought i would wear one

About cancer research : what these researchers are NOT telling you is that the gene they discovered was most likely altered by a virus please read Dr Mary's Monkey it is a excellent book and it also states how we as kids were injected with cancer virus's we vaccinated millions of kids with polio vaccines that were contaminated with a cancer causing monkey virus well into 1999 not 1963 they they told us. also flu shots are contaminated. please read DR Mary's Monkey if you have not already read it also look at

And I just got my flu shot! My husband was in advanced biology in high school and ever since has said that a virus causes cancer. Who knows? Maybe that's why it runs in families, close proximity. But vaccines? Horrible!

My PS says that the shape will depend on the size I want, which is interesting. I read on the Exchange 101 board that the TE should be the shape the PS is planning on, so in my case I guess he uses a standard te shape, ok Im not sure about that, but mine are Allergan 550s. In my mind I think the 410s sound good, a more natural shape than round. But Ill be interested to hear his thoughts when it gets time to make the decision. I want to stay pretty small, and do whatever it takes to avoid any complications later.

You cannot fail at being yourself. A cat doesn't try to be a tiger, and you shouldn't try to be something you aren't. You are a process, not a product. Your job is to discover what you are and create that creature. You still won't be perfect, but success isn't about perfection--it is about authenticity. You are a success if you are being your real, authentic self. Bernie Siegel

I usually love pretty much anything B. Segal says so if I used this quote before......well, its a good one.
Timbuktu and Mom....I had heard the cancer/virus thing for a long, long time too. Still, didn't seem as though ( partly probably bad memory and not so good communications ) there was much for cancer in my family....at least at the time of my diagnosis. Still, I very much believe or I guess intuitively it does ring right for me that a virus would be what to look for since something is the cause of mutation. Well, stress is a good cause.....but what causes the stress, just meaning that somewhere in there.....we can get to a virus I think.
Cloudy here and maybe rain tonight. So far...we seem to be working into a pleasant Fall. A lot more time coming though.....the month of Oct.....soon here will produce lots of changes.
Peace and love

Stopping in as I am not sure I could invite anyone else to my pity party, that would really understand.
Went to the PS last week for what may be my last fill. As a way to help me decide, his assistant handed me pics from before my BMX. Wow. Didn't expect that to be so hard. I sealed the envelope they came in, and haven't looked at them since.
Add in extreme TE soreness and an enormous new project at work, that has me sitting at a computer for long periods, getting stiffer and stiffer...
Sigh...thanks for coming to the party :0( I know it will be better, but boy the road to get there can be hard.

Hey Boatin, have been wondering how you are. Sorry to hear about your difficult times-- glad you came by to share with us. I started half day work last week and it was harder than I expected. Stretch, reach , do more than I thought. Was exhausting. Im sure a big project you have to focus on cant be easy.
Starting my fills- so wonder if it will be getting bad towards the end also. Any exchange date for you?
0 -
Thanks Aviva - think it was just the perfect storm of the pics, soreness and work. Honestly, it wasn't until the last fill that stretching hasn't yet made me feel better. I am hoping it will yet.
Calling Monday to schedule the exchange.
Thank you for listening - and hope that going back to work gets easier for you!

Why on earth did they give you that photo? I never got a photo. What was the point?
0 -
I guess to help me be sure I wanted to go back to the same size.
0 -
I can see where a photo would be necessary for them to know what was there before but who knows the old boobs better than we do? lol
0 -
BoatinGirl not sure why they gave you the photo. I took my own photo the night before surgery so I have a record but my PS never showed me my old photo. Ask your MD if you can take Aleve. It helped me with the pain but I wasn't on any other meds other than Anastrozole, Herceptin at the time.
aviva5675 mine didn't hurt till the last 3. I had 10 expansions. PS likes to fill slowly and as I mentioned I had very little boobs so the skin that was left had to be stretched. No dog ear issues for me

He is going to do 50cc at at time, thats fine if its slow. Rather have less and it not be painful than lots at a time. Im going to stay small so I hope there wont be many. I wonder whats the LEAST ccs ever put in?
0 -
I thought I was going small too. The amount really depends on you shape too. You might be wider so more ccs

Jackie...Happy Belated birthday to my most favorite quote lady. I don't post often but I do read them daily. Thank you for your wonderful words of inspiration..they make me smile:) Hope you are doing well.
Joan /Jan...wishing you both wonderful new adventures, but will miss you both. Keep in touch.
For all the older posters here, I have some sad news for you. As you know I have been hosting our annual Illinois Ladies Holiday party for the past 6 yrs. I have loved hosting and meeting each and everyone of you. I have such wonderful fun memories and pics of our parties and get together, but now is the time to pass on the baton to the new girls here. I would hope that someone will come forward and take on the tradition of hosting the Illinois Ladies Holiday Party. There are so many new girls here , that I feel that they should meet and greet each other and have some fun and laughter together. If you would like to take this on please pm me and I can make suggestions. It is usually held at a restaurant for lunch. Just being together is a special bond. You will have fun and laughter plus great food too. Guaranteed.
All I can say is that I have made wonderful friends here, that were very support to me during my bc journey 6 yrs ago. Time passes and you start living your life. Having fun with your family and friends. Do I hate BC, oh yeah, but out of it I have met some wonderfully strong women.
To the new girls here your journey may have just started or it may have just ended. But do remember that there is life after BC. WE are all strong, beautiful and vibrant women. We will get through this as women usually do. The motto here is Illinois Ladies are tough. So hang in there and embrace yourself, pamper yourself and take care of your spiritual soul. Pink October is all about you.
Wishing each and everyone of the Illinois Ladies here a healthy and happy life.

Just thought I would check back in, since my last post was so sad...feeling alot better. Someone had made a suggestion about Bio-Oil, so I bought it and started using it. I felt a difference after using it one time. Reallyl helped with the pressure. I don't know if it will help everyone, but it sure did for me.
So pity party is officially over!!
Lago - normally my husband runs the Chicago Marathon, but he opted to run the Marine Corp Marathon in DC later this month. Too bad. Especially since the race might be impacted by the government shut-down.

Well ladies I did go and get that "one more" overfill yesterday and Im officialy done with them yeah! Also discussed more with my PSand I will be getting the Natrelle smooth round either the style 20 or style 45 depending on how things look at surgery. Personally hoping the 45's so I have a little bit more projection. Thinking surgery will be end ov November.
On a side note Aviva, Jenn and I all have the same PS which has been wonderrful to chat with them.
