I'm Back LOL ok I had rt mastectomy on 12-16 a small contained insitu 3 nodes clean
Drains were removed on 12-24 Dr aspirated almost 500 cc ( a record for her!) on 1- 8. I'm looking for a way to keep the fluid from building up. Compression or maybe ace bandage or maybe what I eat or drink?
Thanks for your advice!

tdbear, someone will come along and help or answer u'r questions, cuz I have no idea. But I hope that doesn't become a problem for u. That came out fast, but again I don't know.

I know it's past bedtime in IL so I will look for an answer tomorrow

OMGSH!! I LOVE the Happy Dance = ) made me smile for sure!
tdbear I wish I had an answer for you as well but sorry I didn't have that problem however, I think they say drinking a lot of water?!?!
Surgery went well I am anxious for my follow up, my husband commented on something the surgeon said after going in and looking at what my other ps did. I am more sore this time and my throat is pretty dry and scratchy I know it is from the tube but didn't have that the 2 surgeries prior. I did go to a different hospital last night it is funny how they did things differently. My ps who performed my surgery last night doesn't understand why my 1st PS put in such large implants with my skin being so thin.
Anywho Happy Weekend to you all = )

tbear you sound great. I don't have an answer for you either. I only had 2 drains on each side for my BMX and they were removed in a week.
myers421 Myers I too was wondering why such big implants. I bet once they heel they will feel a lot better too.

Amy - so glad to hear it went well and that you are feeling good enough to post already! I hope this takes care of the problem. I also hope you are happy with the switch to the new PS.

hello ladies! It went well yesterday, just a long day. Surgery at 115 right one time(they pushed me back the night before). Different anesth guy than before, but he seemed ok. Came out of it easier I think than before-- but I also have a scratchy throat after. I asked him about the behind the ear nausea patch and he got me one right away. It probably helped.
I asked my ps before hand about evening them/lifting one to match other side, how close theyd be together etc. He said he would do the right, which is a little higher to match left. I had thought left a bit too low, so I was surprised. I also have more fat on left side- he said in a few months to do some lipo there. I was surprised to hear that. He put in natrelle 410s, 420/375. Right side needs more as it was emptier than left. He did cut the pec muscle again to get them in. The incisions are underneath again, not on top like bmx.
Have the tube wrap on, go see him Tues for removal. Where they are under the wrap looks low to me, but of course theyre squished down. He also did some work on one part of my previous under boob scar that hadnt healed as well as rest of them. The right hurts more than left, especially in that area. But I actually feel pretty good. Took norco all night, Im thinking to try and do Tylenol today and see how it goes. Save norco for nite to help sleeping also. And no drains!
Thanks for everyone huge support, Ill keep you all posted. Amy- we passed each other Im sure, I went home at 630.How are you feeling today? What did you think of Madry?

LOL no shower until Tuesday and I'm going back to work Monday my poor co-workers = )

Meyer's you can sponge bath. My BMX was August 31st and I wasn't allowed to shower till the drains were out. It was warm too and I tend not to perspire… I sweat. Had to send my DH out to purchases wash clothes because I never used them before. Now I use them for sweat towels when I go to the gym

Amy when you call to make apt on Monday, Ask if you could remove tube wrap and shower before appt. I did and Andrea said ok, granted my surgery was on a Tues and because of Thanksgiving my followup was the following monday which I ended up rescheduling to Tues because I wasn't feeling good and the gauze was all loose and shifted around from sleeping.

When we're helping other people, we're nourishing our soul. Depression or unhappiness means we've got the wrong goal. We have forgotten that peace of mind is our only goal. By concentrating on helping another person, we renew contact with our soul and with God. We can feel peaceful again. . . . Peace of mind has nothing to do with the external world; it has only to do with our connection with God. Love really is the answer. We're here only to teach love. When we're doing that, our souls are singing and dancing. When we remind ourselves that we are spiritual beings, that life and love are the flame eternal, that's when our soul is nourished.

A beauty of a day in store for us here in the southernmost tip of southern Illinois. It will be almost 59 and I'm just going to call it 60. It often gets a few degrees warmer here than in the city of St. Louis which is where our forecasts originate. Was lovely yesterday as well.
We are still going from extreme to extreme, but it far easier not to mind it when it goes like todays will.
I hope you all have a magnificent Sunday.
Blessings,
Jackie

Aviva - Glad to hear you made it through so well also!
Amy - How is everything feeling today?
I cheated with the tube top - it was super itchy & didn't fit all that well (way too loose) so I took it off, leaving the gauze & put on the compression zip up camisole top that I got after my BMX - just removed the drain pockets. It was a little tight because it was for my pre-BMX size but it as SO much more comfortable! I used cleansing cloths to stay "fresh" while I couldn't bathe.
I think I might have caught the flu bug I went bra shopping yesterday and started feeling shaky & nauseous while I was in the fitting room. While I stood in line to check out and got so hot & dizzy I barely made it out of the store without getting sick. Unfortunately, I didn't make it all the way home and had to pull over to puke. I hope no one was watching me! I laid on the couch the rest of the day and went to bed early hoping it would be gone today but I still feel kinda crappy. I did get a flu shot this year but maybe this is a different strain.

jenn poor you..I tried my best to stay away from germs for a few weeks so my surgery wouldnt get pushed back. 2 days out and the pain is fine. Havent taken anything today for it so far. But the compression thing is causing maybe half of the pain thats there. Not terrible but it is uncomfortable. Im thinking of maybe calling tomorrow and seeing if I can take it off til Tues, or go to Elk Grove office tomorrow instead of waiting a day. Which sounds stupid, since really, its not so bad.

When you're helping, from your limited vantage point, appreciate that person's
struggles and suffering yet also respect their privacy and boundaries. Ascertain
with delicacy and care the extent to which your friend may wish to open up and
talk. Don't take responsibility for solving that friend's life; just be there. Let
any feelings of compassion and selflessness come naturally. Watch your feelings
so that, if you feel superior or prideful, you can shush your mind and tell it that it
should feel grateful for the opportunity to serve. For, in serving by doing what you
can to alleviate suffering, you are transcending boundaries and glorifying the One
Power in us all. As you give your life to others, compassion grows; and as
compassion grows, you become worthier to receive grace. Grace is what enables
you to grow in you divinity and what helps you gain your true life.

Myers and Aviva u both sound like u/r doing OK--I'm glad to hear that. Whenever I couldn't shower I used that no Rinse soap and it was wonderful--It gets nice and soapy on u'r body every where u put it then u just dry u'rself off with a towel, they also have shampoo that gets really soapy on u'r head and just dry it with a towel, Good stuff when u'r tired and hair is growing. Now both of u have til Tuesday--well now it's tomorrow so let us know how it goes. I'm so glad pain has been so manageable.

To possess a rich life of wholeness that brings happiness into the soul,
is to show loving and caring characteristic traits toward others.

Am just back and showered, yay! They look ok- I have to keep reminding myself that how they look today isnt how they will look in a month, or two months. They are wider now than Id like- really look alot like the te are still in, tho the feeling is looser, and no tightness like before. Glad to have the wrap off and take a shower. One step at a time.
