Tanfor -- I was wondering how your sternum lymphs are responding to treatment. I have been diagnosed with the same and am beginning treatment shortly. Thanks. JulieCG.

I started w/mets to lungs and bones - those are stable now since August 2004. But, progression to liver and then brain. Had WBR which seemed to resolve that, but now on Xeloda for liver mets and to keep other mets stable. Seems to be working.

    Love, Cris

Parrothead (Rebecca) has earned her angel wings. Her last post was April 2 when she had started a Poll on Mets.
In this post she spoke about how she loved Jimmy Buffet. I know that many of you will remember Rebecca from these boards. She was diagnosed the same day as me - 3-17-03 and we had a similar diagnosis and treatment. At the time of diagnosis she was only 29 years old. She passed away in May - at the young and tender age of 33. I have been searching lately for her posts and when I have not seen any I wrote a letter to her as I had her personal e-mail address. This was her husband's response:
    *****
    Hello JoAnn

I'm Rebecca's husband, Clint. Rebecca passed away May 16. She was in the hospital for about three weeks prior to that for dehydration and to start a new treatment. She was released on May 11 and went to our son's birthday party, but, was immediately admitted on Sunday morning. She got to see our son's birthday on May 14 and then her body just began to shut down. She is in a much better place now and there's no pain or sickness anymore. She fought a long and tough battle and we are so very proud of her. She lived a short, but, memorable life and touched many peoples lives. She especially felt close to her fellow cancer survivors and friends.

I hope that you are doing well and it is good to hear that your scans came back with good news. It was always a tense time around our house until we got results.

    Clint

    *****

I know that many of you are as saddened by this news as I was. I asked Clint if I could post this on the boards and he said of course.

It breaks my heart to see this post started by parrot head. She was the first woman I knew here at BC.org that died of mets. She is constantly in my thoughts as we both loved Jimmy Buffet!

Gosh, it's hard to read through this thread.  When it was started, I still thought I was home free, and was away from the boards.

I have chest node mets, stable, had one spinal lesion, healed, but had one brain met in January, Gamma knife.  In a holding pattern until more scans.  Two weeks in the sun starting tomorrow.
