My kitty sometimes parks himself at the top of my pillow and puts a paw on my ear or eye or head. I can't handle it when he lays over my nose...can't breathe!  And it's loud when he's on my ear!

The house I bought has two bedrooms. I'm going to sleep in the larger one, and the spare room will be a combination sewing room/computer room/cats bedroom. There is a big spruce tree in the front yard that needs to come down because it's growing right into the power lines. I wonder if it's possible to make a section of that into a cat tree. Or maybe better not, there could be bugs or something in it that I wouldn't want to bring into the house. The other thing I've thought of doing with the wood is growing mushrooms. There is an edible species that will grow on conifer wood and spawn is commercially available. Or maybe I will just have the whole thing chipped up to use between my garden beds....

Curveball... Be careful with all that wood! It will take only 1 SPARK to cause big problems!

My cats like to GRASP my pajama bottom ties wjth their paws when I'm sleeping and play with them.  Very annoying! :O

Poor Bedo, how annoying! Particularly when you're sleeping!

My cats love to play in the GRASS, especially when it gets really high because my hubby has been lazy and hasn't mowed it in weeks. Infuriating because I can't do the mowing for a while.

I just went to the house today to move another load of boxes. I'll pick up anther bunch on the way home from church Sunday. Then it's lather, rinse, repeat Wink until I get them all moved. I also paid my property taxes. This is the first time I've ever paid in person, they were always in my mortgage payment before!

Years ago, I also had a cat that liked to "hide" in the lawn when the grass got tall. The only problem was he was ginger-and-white, so he stuck out like a sore thumb. But even he could probably hide in my back yard, because the grass is nearly knee high. My mom was going to give me her power mower, but the grass is too high to be cut with that any more, and anyway the ground below is lumpy, so it probably wouldn't be very even anyway. I'm going to have to get a string trimmer to deal with it. My co-workers gave me a card and some moolah on my last day at work. I was going to see if I could afford a good garden cart, but if it's not enough for that I bet it will buy me a string trimmer. Meanwhile, I hope the shaggy lawn doesn't gross out my new neighbors too much! Fortunately, it's not as long in the front yard as in back, where the fence hides it.

Curveball... Good luck with the move! Try not to over-do. How nice to be gifted with something you can use.

My 2 cats are enjoying the nice weather and getting to spend more time outside. Have to be careful, I think the fleas are returning and need to put flea protection on the kitties. They also love to bask on the brick wall out back. I love to watch them from my kitchen window. One of the cats is so stupid, she gets too close to the ROSES I have growing there.

As soon as we clear away the trash so we have a nice clean area to lie back and gaze at the sky.

It's not such a good night for stargazing here in WA. It was beautiful and sunny yesterday, but today the weather has turned harsh--rainy and not as warm. Oh well, it's nearly May, and that is when the really beautiful weather is, at least around here

As long as we are laying by the seashore, maybe we can go for a swim? I certainly hope we don't come across a shark.

You are right, I don't want to be close to a shark, it could hurt us really bad, and if not fatal, would leave teeth marks.

It would be SMART to stay away from sharks. (So sorry I'm not up to big stories - lack of sleep makes my mind dull. Just enough energy to come up with new words. Imagine that, me at a loss for words!)

You are doing good, Maddy! Sometimes we just post words but when we do stories it is more interesting. BUT it is also hard to find the right words, but that makes it more fun. Right now (seriously) we are having a bad thunder storm, so I may turn off the computer very soon!

No worry about sharks on this beach. See that row of big wire cages? Those are traps. Any sharks that swim this way will be caught and returned to the ocean on the side away from the beach. (I totally made that up--I don't know if there is really any such thing as a shark trap!)

Aaarrgh! Wahine beat me to it again. I even previewed first but she managed to slip a word in before me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

And it also gets fun when we are posting at the same time! Work on curve's word, of traps. I really have to sign off now...

Ok, you've got me confused. Shark-trapping sounds like an excting sport. But, the "story" is as hard to believe as babies being brought by a stork.  (I think I covered all the ground there)

No, really zogo, it's true! Wahine posted in between when I previewed and when I finally hit "submit". I don't think it's all that unusual. I've read of all sorts of strange things happening to people's posts on bco, let alone the internet as a whole.

I think "sorts" fits the pattern starting from either "sport" or "stork"--that should eliminate any confusion about which word to use. Play on!!

Oh, it's happened to me more than once. No worries. I'm glad we are getting the posts sorted out.

Hi All!! Love the creative stories here. Good way to learn about everyone's PASTS.

Note: this is really strange: on my MAC, have editing toolbar to bold and access to smilies Tongue Out not so on my iPad. Anyone know how to get them on my iPad? Also, when I edit, very clear on the MAC, while on the iPad, it comes back with strange formatting code I have yet to figure out. Thanks!

@2TA, I am just trying not to be jealous of you for having a tablet . I think they are fascinating, but I'm too cheap to buy one (yet). I need to get myself financially calibrated to my retirement income level before I go out and incur new expenses. So sorry, I can't tell you what steps you need to follow in order to get the formatting to work on your iPad.

Thanks, Curveball... Story isn't really so exciting: my laptop fried a couple years ago, couldn't afford to fix it. My brother said to send to him, he'd download data (wouldn't it figure I hadn't done backup in very long time) and send me a loaner as he had a couple spares. Well, I sent a ton of writable CD's and money, no data yet. Then a couple months after he sent laptop, he wanted it back so I was without any tecnology as DD had the MAC for school. Add in the fact that for many occasions, DH has chosen to "forget" getting silly things like birthday, Mother's Day, anniversary, Christmas, etc.... No gift, no card, no special treatment. Last year he blew off both Mother's Day and anniversary in the same week. This year for Mother's Day I hope he STOPS and thinks about what the day means as Father's Day is close behind.

2TA, you really are a good sport to let DH get away with no gifts. Maybe you should drop a hint? Tell him I said he's a lucky guy!Wink
