New Want To Play A Word Game

I did have a nice visit with my mom, but by the time I started home, it was too late to go to IKEA. I thought they were open until 10 PM, but they actually close an hour earlier. It's just as well I didn't make it there, because I was tuckered out again by the time I got home. I went to church this morning and then slept all afternoon. I can wait for the other two things I was going to get, but I think I will see if Bed, Bath & Beyond has drawer dividers. I got some from Mom but I think not as many as I need. That's probably a better way to go anyhow. I can get them right here in town instead of 60 miles away.
@RedReading, I bet the peals of your bell will be audible all over the hospital on Thursday. Congratulations on being (almost) done with rads.

hi all! Very busy week last week (2 dr appts each Monday and Tuesday), went to a women's retreat in the mtns this weekend (lucky to get any sleep: had a roomie, all she did as sleep which wasn't too bad (ever try to dress, find stuff in bags with stuff all over in a pitch-dark room?), but she snored loudly, talked in her sleep, wanted the window wide open (about 50-ish outside), had a fan on the whole time and smoked those e-cigs in our room. She missed the opening meeting that said none of them in rooms. Oh, and she bragged Friday she wasn't going to shower the whole weekend! Lucky us!
I won 2 raffle prizes (of 7), and saw mom and dad on the way home, they were close to where we were.
Just wanted to check in, will read and catch up later.

I definitely am taking a bell to ring out my own finish! I really like the idea and will listen to no PLEAS for silence! I'm also putting a Post Tit note on my boob thanking my techs!!
Lol. Slip your arm out of the gown Deb... bahaha

I am so glad you will take a bell to ring on Thursday, Deb! Maybe make a permanent sign out of slate to put up on the wall announcing that those finished with rads should ring a bell 3 times. I took pics of my DD ringing the bell, but she looks so pathetic (even just from the side) as she was feeling so weak. Funny about the post-it note too!!!
Maddy, glad you had that retreat, but....really??? What a roommate you had.....she didn't even shower??? Yikes.
Thanks Onco, I sure gave the Lord enough tears that day!!
Well, was put out this morning for a caudal epidural....woke up as soon as I got into recovery, so I surely did not get enough sleep. Came home and made up for it! But no drinking tonight, no green beer or green wine for me this year! Happy St. Patrick's Day, girls!

Deb, happy birthday to you! Great present to yourself this year! Love the post tit, hoping it brings a laugh from the techs. Ring that bell loudly!
Wahine, I'm hoping your DD only continues to greatly improve each day and that you get some time for yourself to recharge. And, yes, my roomie never showered. Good thing she had the window wide open for plenty of fresh air. We were wondering if she would be awake long enough for something other than visiting the dining hall and puffing on the e-cigs.
Well, today I am on an all-liquid diet in prep for colonoscopy tomorrow. Need to keep very busy today as the thought of the IV makes me nervous. Tomorrow at this time, I should be well on my way to having it completed. Praying for a clean report.
Curve, hoping B3 has what you want and they offer a 20% off coupon too. How's the genealogy coming along?
Onco, moo to you!
Edited to add: got so wrapped up forgot that my word was tales

@2TA, the genealogy is going fine. In fact I have gotten so wrapped up in it I haven't been around here much for the last few days. I am supposed to be putting in all of our old research notes before I go looking for any more information, but I've been cheating and looking around for things in addition to the notes I'm putting in. Most recently, I found documentation that one of my great-great uncles lived in Richmond VA for a time. There has always been conflicting evidence in other documents about where that branch of the family came from. Individuals sometimes say they were born in Richmond, but at other times the same person will say born in Washington DC. I thought this might be that the part of Virginia they came from was later annexed by the District, but Richmond is in quite a different part of the state, over 100 miles from DC. But I found this great-great uncle in a city directory for Richmond in 1869 & 1870, so now I know he was there, and someday I may find the rest of the family too.
Congratulations to everyone who has finished up a test or a treatment! I had my third Doxil yesterday and will be scheduling a CT scan in a few weeks to see if it worked. But until then genealogy is keeping me nicely distracted.

after re-reading my post, realized my brain must have been stale
In the middle of a couple things, will get back when I can

Hi all, yippee! At 3 this pm I was not getting rads, I was buying new work boots instead. I was also not helping out my mom or entertaining my houseguest. I am now NOT on my way back from rads, I am having a tub. God I love my Epsom salt baths right now. Makes my poor burnt boobie feel so much better.
That genealogy project sounds interesting Curve. I'll bet it's a lot easier to track the MALES than the females though. They didn't tell you a lot about the females back then. Birth certificate maybe, marriage certificate same, death certificate probably. You can probably find out more about the women by tracking the men they birthed.
Maddy, hope your colonoscopy went well. I've had a couple. Not comfy at all. Of course, everyone knows how important they are so no-one, not even me, will tell you that they hurt ahead of time. Sorry babygirl. Hope your ok.
Kathy, I pray your DD gets better and better each day too. I also want you to remember to take care of you. Easy to get so involved, you forget. {{{Kat & Kristen}}}
Onco - mooo. In my former life, about 30 years ago, my last name was Cowan. You wouldn't believe all the cow things we have.
Have a great weekend!!!

just a small comment here as I am hours behind getting stuff done......

Oh Maddy, Can't we get you to stall here for awhile, just to have a break?
Red, SO glad you had other things to do at 3pm today! SO glad you are through with rads!!
I had an IV infusion for my bones Wednesday (as opposed to taking Fosomax every week), and they didn't tell me about the SE's. So of course I got them....had 101 temps AFTER taking 2 ex-strength tylenol as well as advil, inbetween. So apparently it is normal to get flu-like symptoms, headache as well as body aches. Had to be with my DD yest as she had dr appts then an IV hydration, so were there at the hospital for 4+hrs. I kept taking MY temp, and hoping those there would know I was not sick or contagious, just having a reaction. Finally late last night my fever went away and I also finally slept through the night. yay!
Take care, girls!!!!

My goodness, the TALES we girls have to tell. We should write a book.

and we turn all the money from the book sales over to BCO!

My DH and I went out yesterday to buy a light for our hallway. Didn't see any we liked, but we did buy a new bathroom SCALE that was on for half price. It's pretty cool. You tell it who you are before stepping on and it not only weighs you, but gives you your percentages of water, fat and muscle in your body. Yay. A new toy!
0 -
Hi girls! Oh you are a brave one, Red! I have that type of scale too, but didn't want anyone else to put my name in and see what I weigh! Wouldn't want the males in my house (well there is only one) to see what I really weigh. I even whisper my weight to the nurse if he is in the same room! LOL. So I put that one away and keep the regular ones out. (Like I am really fooling him, right?). Hope you do love it though!!!
0 -
Oh no! I quite like it. I know I weigh a lot more than I used to but I'm ok with that. At least it doesn't talk to me and say things like 'hey chubby, get off the scale'. One SMALL thing tho, it tells me I am 52% water. I wonder if it's the beer? Lol
0 -
Glad you love it! Funny about the beer, hmmmmmm. Well maybe I could make up a phony name like sally and he would never think of that name, then I could use it again! LOL
0 -
I don't really care what I weigh. I can go months without checking it - no problem at all. And of course, I have told everybody this, so I won't SULLY my carefree reputation by check in with my scale too often.
0 -
LOL, you have the right attitude! I am afraid I might get a bit sulky when the scale does not show the numbers I would like it to. (Not really, but just thought of that word). Tata, gotta get ready and help out my parents today. You all have a great day! Hugs!

Thanks Kathy, I'll do me best!!
My hubby is addicted to The Shopping Channel and I am forever getting stuff in the mail that I really don't need. About two weeks ago he called me in to the living room to look at a comforter they were advertising that was made of layers and layers of silk. Long story short, I called and ordered it. It arrived a few days ago and it seems to be exactly as advertised. Yay. It is SILKY soft and keeps you both warm and cool. Another new toy! What's up with me and new toys?

Hi girls, I am leaving the HTL. Too much stress and drama on a thread I had been on for almost 6 years, and I was the one on that thread the longest. Anyone that wants to keep in touch, if we have not exchanged emails, please send me a pm today, as I will not be checking after this. I will miss you all, but I have a big heart and when it gets broken by those I thought were friends, then it is better for me not to even be on this site. Big Hugs and Love to you all, I mean that from my heart.

What the —?! I don't know what the HTL is. I hope I'm not the one who caused stress & drama for you, you have had enough of that in the past few months to last a lifetime. But if one thread has turned sour for you why not just put that one on ignore? You won't even see it in the active threads listing if you do that. It won't be the same on this thread without you, that's for sure.
New word licks.
0 -
Thanks, Curve. NO, it wasn't you or anyone on this thread. Problem is, the girl that caused all the problems is on many, many threads and its just not worth it since she seems h3ll bent on taking me down. I will miss you all too! (OOPS, I am sorry, the HTL is on the drinking thread....I meant to say I am leaving bco)

You can block a person too. Find one of her posts, click on her screen name, then click on "Block User" just above biography. I hope you won't let one bad apple spoil the whole bco barrel for you.

now this just ticks me off! Wahine, I wish you would take Curve's advice to heart and come back here! I hate to lose nice people in my life, especially one as sweet and fun as you. As for some, they are natural trouble makers and have this need to stick their nose in everyone else's business, they get some perverse joy in attacking good people.
So, I'm hoping it's only a break you're taking and will be back soon!
Love to you, Wahine, and to all my other sweet sisters on this thread - Curve, Red, Onco/CCFW , ok, who else am I missing?
0 -
OK. I have to admit that I have left the HTL as well, with tears in my eyes, but Wahine is more important to me. Please don't let 4sewwhat make you drop all of us Kathy. We love you!!!!!!!!!! Do you love us too? Please, at least stay here, where u are loved and safe.
I'll hit em with a STICK. We love you.
0 -
Ahh heck, she used two words in the post. OK, all this just TICKS me off
0 -
OK, now you all have me crying again too. This really sucks. Thank you all for your love and support! And I do have several of your emails, and can keep in touch that way. If I come back, maybe I will have a different name like one of you did, here. I won't give that away on the thread, as I am sure you did it for a reason too. Deb, I am emailing you right now, ok? And of course we will all stay in touch. I hate that this all happened, it is so emotionally draining and very sad. Love and hugs. STICK me with a needle and see if I still have any feeling left.....
0 -
Kathy, I can tell from your post that you have feeling left. It is my STOCK in trade to totally stick by those I consider my close friends. I count you as one of those.
0 -
I agree with Red, glad you are back, Wahine!!
Oops, got stuck on a new word
0 -
and now 2TA has used the word I was going to use. I will have to take the lazy way out and just rearrange the letters without changing one. The new word is tucks.
