    Yay Curve, dishes in a nice warm kitchen. TENDS to make me appreciate the simple things in life more.

    Maddy sorry your computer is acting up. Hope it gets well soon. Lol

    Red, not my computer (iPad), BCO acting strangely last night, kept giving me error messages and kicking me off the system. Boo. They must have found a smart techie who mends the system to get it working correctly. Need to read what I missed.

    @2TA, I had what sounds like similar problems the day after the shutdown. It is a good thing there are nerds who know how this stuff works and can fix it when it breaks down.

    To true RR. Good tech support is essential! Sometimes when I was still working, my computer would start acting strange, and the not-very-helpful suggestions I sometimes got from the help line would drive me nearly to the verge of insanity! I'd sit at my desk getting more and more frustrated and crying "I want my Macintosh!"

    it's been a very long time since I used a computer on a job. But I do remember those days when I would get so frustrated I wanted to throw the darned thing in a grave and shovel dirt over it.

    The sun is shining!! Yay. Hope everyone has a GREAT day.

    Now I don't want to shock you and I have no explanation for the inexcusable behavior pictured below. All I can say is that the weather has made some of my fellow Canadians a little bit crazy.

    I know right? Wow, totally unbelievable! Again, I must apologize for this unprecedented behaviour on the part of my fellow countryman. My soul RAGES when I see this type of extravagant, over the top type of action.

    And what a great word!!

    @RedReading, so now you are "a little upset" too? LOL

    I thought that was a woman holding the sign, and the ones in the background wearing baseball caps were the men. But don't get any more upset than you already are. I'm not going to argue about it. If you say the one with the sign is a man, he's a man. I am sure you have more practice than I do at telling one from the other when everyone is totally bundled up in their winter clothes.

    Oh dear, I see OncoWarrior got ahead of me while I was editing my comment. Why couldn't she wait a few minutes and spare me such an embarassing predicament?

    Well to be honest I thought it was a woman too. But someone corrected me (maybe the other site) so I changed it. Should have stuck with my gut instinct.

    Guess what? I am done full breast rads, just boosts left to go. Yay. I can almost hear the violins and HARPS that will be playing my swan song as I depart the radiation department for the final time on Thursday!!!

    Red, I want to hear some sharp tones, all the way in Alabama, when you ring that rads bell on Thursday!!! My DD just rang it 2x (supposed to be 3, at our center, anyway), as the loud sound was too irritating to her. Was hoping after her last rads on Monday that the healing would begin, BUT she had probs with the feeding tube and had to have surgery yesterday. Other tube had gotten blocked and in wrong position too. I was with her throughout. I was pushing myself to keep going like the energizer bunny, all these months. Had quite a meltdown today so it was good my other DD has been here for a few days from TX, to help out. I had to just rest today (with meds) and feel better now, although my eyes are so swollen from all the crying!! I guess I should have accepted some help for her tx and appts, and for all the places the kids had to be. Was trying to do it all. The good thing is, her neck was so raw even during her last rads tx, but it is healing and looking better already. Didn't read further back than the last 2 posts, but want to shout out a big HI to you all...

    O Kat, what a relief. I've been so worried. I'm glad the surgery went well and that she is on the road to recovery. Now it's time to look after mom!! Yes, you. You need rest. Rest and relaxation. Your DD 2 will be going back to TX tomorrow? Be nice to you. Get your DH to help out a bit more. Accept help from friends and neighbors. Lecture over. I worry about you too honey. {{{{Kat}}}}

    I wish we rang a bell here but no. We kinda skulk out saying goodbye to those who are around at the time. And it's over. It's a hospital setting, not a clinic one, so there's different techs, nurses and secretaries each day. No one has time to SPARE for a celebration. Ringing a bell would be cool. A symbol of 'I did it'.

    Nite nite. Hugs'n'kisses

    Oh, too bad, Red. It is a nice symbolic move to ring that bell. Our cancer center is in the hospital too (they have another separate location too), but the rads area as well as the chemo area are in separate areas, which are really nice.  The rads area has 2 waiting rooms, one is real fancy like a living room in an expensive house with lots of heavy molding, beautiful fireplace, etc. I like it, cause the drs have their offices there too, so its easy to see them. The independant location just looked too depressing to us, as the ONLY pts there were cancer patients. Maybe you can think of something else to do to make that last day special. What surprised me was when I was there when they were admitting my DD to the hospital on Wednesday, and they use SO much paper....must use reams of it. And they give everyone a fancy folder with booklets about the hospital, etc. Seemed like a lot of waste, to me. Verrrrry tired, my DD and g'son are leaving around 7am, so I guess I better try to sleep some. Hugs to you all!!!!

    Silly Kat, of course you were tired - it was about 1am when you wrote that. Then up at 7. I know people who live on 4-5 hours sleep, but they aren't very much fun. You are, so you must need more sleep!!! (see the logic there? If a+b=c then...)

    We actually had one nice day this week. Went up to 8, about 43 in your world and the sun was out. I was looking out my kitchen window and STEAM was rising off the roof of my pool shed. Leaving behind nice clean shingles. Of course, the next day we had a blizzard, so I can't see them any more, but for one shining day...

    Hi Maddy, Curve and Onco. How was your week?

    So sad saying goodbye to my youngest DD and my g'son.....they have a LONG drive today, hoping to get back in time for his youth night at church. Now we can get back to more simple meals, instead of eating so many meals out. In fact we have 2 big ribeye steaks I need to marinate so we can grill them tonight. Yum. Still in a bit of a funk, but that was quite a meltdown yesterday, hope that doesn't happen again. I'll try to recharge this weekend, plus will get to see my parents. So glad they have been doing so well, as I don't know what i would have done if I needed to be in 3 places at once instead of 2! Monday I have a procedure at the hospital, early, and then that afternoon my DH will take my mom to the ortho dr to look at her knee and leg that are bothering her. Sunny skies here, but storms coming tomorrow (rain storms)....you must be so sick of snow, Red! Hope everyone else is doing well. :)

    So sorry about your meltdown, Kat, but I truly believe that they are actually good for you. You try so hard to hold it all in, get things done properly and on time, cope with different schedules and routines and mostly, to be strong. Then all of a sudden, everything backs up and SLAMS you with all the emotions and fears you have been holding inside. Have you noticed it often happens on a day when you actually have the time for it? When the worst seems to be over? I think of it as a cathartic purging. Of course, I don't think of it that way when it's happening to me. Lol. {{{{Kat}}}}

    The new word is mails. No time to work it into a story, I'm going to Seattle to see my mom today. I hope I will have enough energy to make that long-delayed stop at IKEA on the way home. I need drawer dividers and things so I can put my stuff away in the kitchen, and I'm also going to buy a new desk. It turns out there is no stud in the wall where I wanted to hang my TV, so instead of the shelf I was going to get I'll buy a coffee table same color & same design and sit the TV on it. The contractor is coming Monday to tie up the very, very, last loose ends (and get his check)!

    Hi, there. I made this nice post, but apparently the post gremlins made it go away. Booo.

    So, sometimes my computer is super fast, sometimes it creeps along like a SNAIL. There you go.

    Glad things are almost done, Curve! Hope you had a nice visit with your mom and got to stop at Ikea too.

    Red, maybe if you snarl at your computer when the gremlin shows up, it will behave! LOL, just kidding. I hate losing posts. If you are still on the same page, it sometimes works to hit rt click and then "undo". Works for me in emails too....so many times I hit the wrong key, then *poof* its gone. So its nice when you can get it right back. BUT if it changes pages, then it seems to be gone forever. Wonder what that area of all the lost posts looks like......................

    I know right? The gremlins are awesome at their job. I want to hire them! If I SLANT my cell phone in just the right way - poof goes my submission. Boo erns.

    I'm taking my own damn bell! But I like the banner idea. Maybe I can use it to make my own LANES out of the place. Maybe others will follow.
