Yes, I agree it has been a great move by the producers!  I also believe there is so much editing done to create the "drama" - suce as if Bristol were marked "safe" in the first five minutes the shock factor would not be what it is.

Just goes to show how important voting really is.  If you don't vote then don't complain.

I will be tuning in and voting for my pick!!!

This is the reason why many of us are perturbed about Sarah's daughter going to the final three.  If if is true that some folks voted 300 times, that is clearly not fair.

okay - I get home tonight and DH says - let's watch channel 4 - how I met your mother and 2 and 1/2 men.  yeah, I think that is about right.

She was so cute tonight.  I can't believe the confidence she has. (although you can see the nervousness also)  She is up against a professional who has played to the camera from a very young age.

Hugs, Odalys--it is still a fun thread and still a welcome diversion from the day-to-day "C" world!   There are only a couple of posters who have popped in recently who are trying to turn it into a political debate.

For what it's worth--I chuckled over the "pretend" post and did not think it merited the immediate bashing post!

My comments on tonight's show--I won't even name names.......someone is absolutely beautiful and flawless;    someone is down right FUN to watch!!; and someone still has two left feet!!!

Glad that this season is about over!!!!!!!

Couldn't agree more Junie...nicely summed up.  There was no comparison and, again, Len was very generous with his votes.

2TZus:  Was it so necessary to rehash all that again?  I thought the idea was to go on to something else with this thread.  I still stand-by what I posted but we will see tonight if that is a "fair" contest or not.  I will say nothing else.  We will let what happens tonight tell us what kind of a "show" we are or "were" watching.

4 ways to vote, online, text, phone or change the channel.  but personal attacks & judgemental remarks should be beneath us all.  one would think bc would teach us all that.

What was that all about?  In my initial comment, I said I didn't want to get political, but wanted to see if others agreed that the show had gotten political - well apparently, others agreed that it had.  It's difficult to keep politics out of this thread because the show dragged it in - not me.  Very poor judgement on the part of the producers to bring a controversial "celeb" on the show.  And the reason why I keep referring to her as Palin's daughter is because that is the basis upon which she is culling votes.  As ever - JMHO and peace out.

grdnsive:  I don't know about the rest of you but bc did not change my personality and how I think about things.  My feelings about someone has nothing to do with my medical condition as you can tell from my posts.  I just agree that now we should not dig this conversation up again whether we like or dislike the subject.  I frankly am bored with it.

Bristol Palin is a public person and it's fair game to comment negatively about her in a thread like this. Bristol put herself in this position when she signed up for DWTS.        So I don't want to hear complaints from 2TZUS that Bristol Palin is being "personally attacked"    Happily 2TZUS has promised that she will back out of this thread; so we can continue with our civilized comments tonite if we wish.    I hope we do and I don't care who supports whom.  I felt "personally attacked" for a joke I posted here.  I am 5 wks post bilateral mastectomy and I am not fair game.              And so many of you ladies are being "personally attacked" when you are going thru your journeys with breast cancer.         2TZUS is not appropriate in her posts and I have reported them

.     Please consider reporting them as well; b/f she wreaks havoc on another thread.  Her posts are mean-spirited.                I will ignore her PMs if she sends me any.  I would advise that you do so accordingly if you don't want to hear from her.     But that's just me.  Tv is entertainment. and this website is about support.

    OH  PLEEEZZZEEE.

2TZUS was providing evidence regarding  a false claim.  YES, Bristol is being attacked here by mean spirited women, who have nothing better to do.    Most people have had the decency to lay off of political figures children.

Yes,  Bristol probably thought she would have fun.  She didn't have a clue that she would be the target of very nasty people who don't like her mother.  She could probably never imagine that she would actually receive DEATH threads for appearing on an entertainment show.

Eileen - you are not fair game?  Then don't post political remarks, call them jokes and ask for sympathy.  If you want respect, then start to show some respect to the others with who entitled to their opinion also.

daisy62:  Welcome back Daisy!  You are so concerned about a person you don't even know and yet you don't have a problem calling your "support ladies" MEAN SPIRITED" and NASTY.  I don't know about those others but if Bristol wants to be in the public eye, she has to accept the fact that there may be those "Mean Spirited" and "Nasty" people who will say not so nice things about her.  "I" accept your titles for me since I know coming from you they are really compliments.  You really could have come up with even worse names for us.  We were giving our opinion of the DWTS show and if you didn't agree with our remarks that is your problem.  We still have the right to express ourselves.  Now that  Bristol knows what being in the public eye really means, maybe she will just quit the show and let the real "dancers" win!

Oh for the love of pete .. Bristol is dancing cause she's making lots of money on this show.  Sure .. it may be fun .. but the longer the contestants are on the show, the more money they make each week.

It's money driven .. not fun driven.

Bristol is making lots of money to care for herself and her child.  Good for her .. but she sure isn't that great of a dancer.  Yep .. she has improved ... but geez .. Jennifer is a 50 year-old woman dancing her little feet off.

I'm close to Jennifer's age and there's no way I could ever do what she's doing.

2T .. it must have taken a long time to copy all those posts onto this thread.

And .. I'm not mean spirited ... I have a heart of gold.

The ONLY thing I'm pretty sure about is that Kyle will probably not win.  I don't think that he has the fan base strongly enough for him to compete with the overwhelming response to the women who are in the finals.  In past seasons, many voters split their votes among multiple couples.  Because of this controversy, most people seem to be giving ALL of their votes to the couple they want to win, (or against someone they don't want) not wanting to risk someone else slipping in there.

The reaction to Eileen's post reminds us how hard it is to convey  inflection via the internet, and how easily our comments can be misunderstood.  Smileys do help with that, and BCO has included a small selection for us to use easily .Wink

I for one will be very happy when tonight is over and hopefully, no politicians next year.  Then, maybe we can get back to discussing who danced well and who had two left feet.

ADK--I will also be very glad with DWTS will be over.  I stopped watching the show when Palin kept winning even though-in my humble opinion- she didn't/doesn't seem any better.  I compare her to others from varying seasons with similar abilities and the others progressed;she did not.  I do believe having Palin on the show was very political and I am disappointed with ABC.   I really don't have any desire to watch the show so much any more especially if they get another politician on the show acting like they are just there for support when they are there for some strange type of political gain.  Again, a very disappointing show because I truly think Jennifer is an artist and should win.

Daisy, in my opinion, from your posts on threads I have been on with you, "you" are an unprofessional trouble-maker".  You should not be allowed to continue to post.

However, Jennifer is NOT a professional dancer, that dog has eaten that bone several times.  She has more right to compete in DWTS than you should have in constantly posting your troublemaking posts.  For your info, as much as I dislike and disapprove of your postings, I have never reported you to a Mod.  I think that only feeds into what you are trying to do and you'll get no food from me.  In "this" group we enjoy discussing our likes and dislikes of the performers and we can do it without calling each other nasty names.  Try it.  You might like it!  If not, please take your act to some other continent!  Thank you so much.

PatMom; IMO the reaction to my "joke" post had less to do with emoticons and more to do with perception being blurred by the political climate in this country right now AND posters wandering in from the world wide web who "attack" rather than "support".     But that's just me (Joy Behar) and it is said with L_O_V_E (Michael Jackson)       amd we can agree to disagree.

I am a person who reports innappropriate posts b/c the mods can't keep up with everything and I don't want other people to feel maligned by a poster.

The nation is transfixed by all the media hype on the DWTS season finale; I, for one, am looking forward to an interesting evening.     It's a shot-in-the-arm for the careers of many of them.  And maybe it will inspire people like me to get up and dance. Even if it is on Wii.          I've got a front row seat for the show tonite.  right in our living room with our new big screen tv.   enjoy!

It's really sad to see this forum go this way. I for one have enjoyed reading the posts, and watching the show. I have my opinion on who I would like to see win, but at this time I choose not to state it.

Daisy, I'm sorry, but it seems to me you are trying to cause trouble. You have only been on this site for a couple of days, and have caused trouble every where you have been.

Blue - that is what all the uproar is about - certain websites are encouraging folks to control the voting by creating false e-mail addresses and hacking into the ABC site.  I posted a link to an article where one person boasted that she voted 300 times.  That is what is unfair - I play by the rules and vote only the allowed amount of times and I am outraged that others out there who I suspect aren't even watching the show and have never watched the show are voting just for a political statement.  They should never have a politician or immediate family member on this show.  I said to DH the other night that American politics have become absolutely schizophrenic and what is going on here just proves my point.  Just gotta win, it doesn't matter how.  Edited to add JMHO

A small correction to Kira: Daisy is not in fact a new poster . . . she's an old poster who's on restriction because some of her other offensive posts were deleted by the community, and so she's signed up under a new username.  That may or may not be against the "community rules" (I haven't checked them recently), but it's something the moderators have explicitly asked us NOT to do.

    Now, back to dancing!

    L

(Edited to respond to Anne, and wink at Blue: Someone voted 300 times?!?  That person who only voted 55 times must be a real slacker.)

I hope the outcome will not be what many are predicting. I am holding out for what is right. The show should be about who is the best dancer.  Thus far those with two left feet or are stiff as a board have left early.  It is a shame if the BEST doesn't win, it validates all that is wrong with the current political climate.
