I think the musical choices have been less than stellar this year.  So far I thought TV show themes were the worst though.

    That would be ironic.

I really did think that Bristol was going home, I was shocked when they said that it was Rick Fox. Len had a look of disbelief on his face.

Ican't believe Rick got sent home.  Should have been Bristol.

Ladies, not sure what but there is something about Rick's dancing that just didn't appeal to me.  His movement seemed so ackward or disjointed.  Also, not helping him is the fact he was missmatched with Cherryl (too tall for Cherryl).   JMO
Not sure what to say about Bristol's dancing.  I'm shocked she has lasted this long.

I agree about Jennifer's whining.  I'm almost 58 and I can't imagine whining that much about her 50 year old body.  Try having cancer twice and then talk to me!  I don't think Florence complained that much.

Having said that, I think she's a good dancer and the show needs strong dancers in the final otherwise it's a joke.

I think Rick's problem was the height difference between him and Cheryl.  Bristol's improved so much but she's not up to par.  Maybe next week for her.

It is not Jennifers 50 year old body that is giving her trouble, it is the effect of all the neck and back surgeries that are taking it out of her.

Oh, didn't know about that.  She just keeps talking about her 50 year old body!  Sorry, Jennifer.

Also, weren't Jennifer's surgeries due to a cancer that was found in the back of her neck during her first physical when trying out for DWTS?   That led to surgery, chemo, maybe rads, too....or am I dreaming that I read/heard this somewhere????

Didn't think it was fair for Rick to be voted off.   Didn't think he was all that great, but he had improved so much--was looking forward to seeing him continue.    If Bristol makes it another week, think I will be forever disenchanted with DWTS.

Okay, way to make me feel really bad Junie!  Just kidding.  Maybe she has a right to whine after all.

Bristol has outstayed her welcome.  She has improved immensely but isn't up to par with the rest so it's time to go.  I love Kyle even though he's not always the best.  There's something so engaging about him.

I think Jennifer's back problems were due to a car accident. I think I heard she had a brake in her back bone she didn't know about till she tried to join Dancing With the Stars last year.

I agree Bristol needs to go.

okay--y'all got me curious.   I'm not a good Google searcher but there was a car accident and back/neck problems; also, a cancerous lesion on her thyroid, but can't confrim what tx she had for that cancer......

And all that combined with the number of years since she did dance (I think it was over twenty?) is the reason I think she is amazing to do so well--at 51.

She's definitely my fave...a real natural.  Brandy's also coming into her own so it should be interesting.  Too bad Audrina's gone, it couldv'e been an all female finale.

Oh, good! a thread on DWTS!!   I did not know this was here.

My daughter is a dance minor with Athletic training as her major.    It is so wrong that Jennifer keeps dancing with the pain!      Gives young people the wrong impression of athletic activity. If it hurts then stop!!           this is a big issue in the dance world where dancers are told to dance thru the pain.    then they end up "crippled" with pain at 30.

SArah Palin's  contingency is voting for Bristol and it shows extremely poor sportsmanship.  bristol has such easy routines and she still stays in while other contenders try to advance their     choreography.      this is of course IMHO.             Brandi is my fave; tho I started with Jennifer.

What's wrong with Mark? He's all over Bristol and he is turning into a creepy, gross looking thing.  Bristol's dance is really not to the standard at this point of the game. Well, it's the jedges' fault -- at the beginning they kept giving her scores she didn't deserve and then something kicked in and now it is out of the jedges' control. Does anyone know who is taking care of Bristol's child? When Bristol took Mark home to visit, she never mentioned or visited her child (they didn't show it on TV anyway).

Like the new look of Lacey. Some thing changed, beside her hair color, for the better. She just seemed so stress free and so happy.

Oh I liked Rick. Like his big smile. A gaint with a gaint heart. Very proper and professional. Sad to see him go.

Is he sweet on her?  I agree about the creepiness.  I think maybe the reason they didn't show Bristol's son is because she may not want him in the limelight, which is to her credit.

I was thinking the same thing about Mark.  He is all over Bristol, not very professional just and very creepy. JMO.   Also, agree is time for her to go home.  Not sure I like her mom showing up every now and then either.  She tends to want to steel the show.  Again, JMO.

Eileen1955 - I wish they would not focus so much on the pain or Jennifer's condition.  Every season there is someone getting hurt but I don't recall there being so much emphasis on one particular person.

IMHO brandi stole the show last nite. I should go online and vote.

If Bristol does not get voted off "the island" tonite then I will seriously reconsider watching the rest of this season.

Also, what's up with the professional dancers arguing with the judges?   Brandi's partner (Max?) was really arguing with CArrie Anne after the quick dance.          Maybe I'm old school but you are supposed to listen to the feedback no matter how much you disagree.         Shows bad sportsmanship to me.

Remember the baseball player who shook hands with the umpire who made a lousey call?  Very gentlemanly-like and civil.                        Of course Nov is sweeps month so Max's reaction may have been planned.

Ha ha ha...they must heard me. This week they brought out mom, dad and son to answer my question. I can't believe it!

OK. She survived yet another week. I have never considered this show a real dance competition. Now it is double confirmed. Oh well. since I already fast forward most of it, I am going to continue not taking it seriously - just relax and watch the drama unfold.

LOL--if I posted what I'm thinking, I'd be banned forever from posting to the boards!    Don't know why I am so surprised at tonight's outcome...guess the big consolation is knowing from reading all your posts that I'm not alone!!!    What a total CROCK!!!!   Not gonna be in any big frenzy to watch the rest of the season--if I get it recorded, fine; if not, I'll read about it one of these days.....

You guys did your best last season to get me "hooked"--and, ya done good!   Have enjoyed watching "most" of the dancers improve this season as the show moves forward.   But, tonight's vote has left me feeling really cold.   DWTS should be ashamed!    I do understand the "popular" vote concept, but in this instance, think it is total hogwash!!!!

Will look forward to next season......hope it is better!!!

I think I'll miss next wk's show b/c I have a "tea party" to attend (if you get my drift).

I'd love to know the formula for the equation of judge's votes vs popular vote.

Maybe I'll just ask a million of my closest friends to vote for Brandi or Jennifer next week (depending on who does better)               Oh, I forgot. I have that "tea party" to attend.

As for the Pro dancers fighting with the judges....I personally was glad Max took Carrie Anne on.  They work soooo hard trying to make these amateurs dancers and then they get "nit picked" by Carrie Anne or the Old Guy for just stupid things!  Heavens forbid if a guy takes off his shirt!  The Old Guy goes bananas!  I adore Max and love to watch him move his gorgeous body in those dances!  I think Bristol keeps getting saved because of all the people who know her and her mom from her political activities.  The ones who get dropped quickest are usually those who don't have "ready made" fan clubs popping votes in for them.  Many times they have a better overall score but still get put off before others who get the "outside" votes.  Remember Cloris the crazy?  How do you think she kept staying on?   I watch the show for the beauty of the real dancers, not to see the "old timers" who are desperate to get before "any" camera!  As long as Max and Derek are still dancing, I will keep watching!  That Derek is the master of all dancers, IMO!

I too am very disappointed with the results this season. Bristol should have been gone several weeks ago. It seems that each season there is at least one surprise vote off of someone who is doing better than others who continue on. Even though it seems that Jennifer is complaining each week about another ache and pain I am pulling for her to win.

I will be seriously peeved if Bristol makes it to the finals.  In my opinion the judges are scoring her way too high.  In one of the dances she got the same score from Len as (I think) Brandy did.  How is that possible?

I love Kyle and would hate to see him go home before Bristol.  I know he won't win and that's okay but he certainly deserves to be in the final.

I too dislike the arguing of the judges and pros.  Having said that, Len has never hidden the fact that he doesn't like when they sit around for x number of bars before actually dancing (I know CarrieAnne was the one who called Max on it this time) so why, why, why do the pros jeopardize their star's marks by still doing it?

This season is losing its shine for me because of the voting.

IMO, the reason they seem to be "sitting" around for a number of bars is because they have been told they need to give a "performance" and not just do dance steps.  The "sitting" around is building up to the story of the music they are dancing to and I think what they do is give a complete performance by doing this.  It would not be the same if they just ran out on the floor and grabbed each other and just danced.  This is why they all have to end it in a special way.  But on DWTS you are damned if you do and damned if you don't it seems with the judges.  In the good old days when Fred Astaire used to dance with his partner they did basically the same thing and made a story of the dance.  Those judges need to retire and let some others take over who really understand the "art" of dancing.  But like I said, as long as my Derek and Max are dancing, I will tune in just to see them.  Bristol needs to go back to politics and get off that show!!  She tries hard but she is not the quality which should make it to the finals.  If she does, it's goodbye to that show for me even if I have to give up my two favorite dancers!
