Did anyone watch tonight's episode?  I loved seeing Martina McBride singing "I'm gonna love you through it" while the dancers did their magic.  She was great and the dancers were awesome!

Wow........................Maks really let Len have it...........................I thought Maks was a little harsh, but Len deserved exactly what he got.....................I have always liked him, but honestly, he was rude as hell last night......................really unfair, and totally disrespectful to tell Hope....................Worst dance of the season............................I can see why Maks defended her, and lit into len.......................

Sorry to see Chaz go.............he was trying so hard, and I do think this did so much for his ego................When the hell is Nancy Grace going to be dumped................both she and her partner are ot that good.........................of all the male Pro's he is the worst I have ever seen....................

Love JR.................he is going to be the winner, if not I say its fixed.....................Ricki Lake is good, but they all favor her, and very rarely say anything bad.........................I read a story online about how some of the others admitted the judges have their favorites,...............the other one that needs to go is that Arquette.......is that his name........................he is so weird.............oh well life goes on....................

Hey, I guess Maks has to do damage control now.  He is everywhere!!!  He is so full of himself...or should I say "hunky" self?  Yes, Lenny is somewhat harsh but he's always been that way.  Bruno also used mean words toward Chaz.  For some reason, I noticed Lenny seems to be harsher on the ladies, sexist? But, I do think Marks was way out of line with his huge Freudian slip...."my show" and saying he made the show...no way!  KaryAnn jumped on his comments right away.  I think Maks is good but Dereck Huff is way better!  JMO.  Laughing

I'm sure Maks was told to apologize publicly - which he did. I also think that Len has been unnecesarily harsh on Hope. Every week putting her down for not being sexy enough. I can understand why Maks was angry but he sure put his foot in his mouth. I bet he got into trouble after the show and was told to apologize.

I thought Bruno was very mean to Chaz. There was no need for that.  But it was time for Chaz to go - he had a good run and I think he did try hard.

Ricki is good but I think J.R. is better. He should win. I probably missed the explanation -- but was he injured when he was a soldier - is that what happened to him? I must say he is an exceptional guy and a great role model for everyone. He hasn't let adversity get him down.

I think David Arquette is sort of goofy. I'm surprised Courtney Cox married someone like that.

J.R. is an authentic war hero. I copied the following from the DWS website.

J.R. Martinez is an Iraq war veteran, motivational speaker and actor on ABC's All My Children. In April 2003, at 19 years old, he was serving as a Humvee driver for the U.S. Army in Iraq when his left front tire hit a landmine. He suffered smoke inhalation and severe burns to more than 40 percent of his body.

J.R. was immediately evacuated and sent to Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio where he spent 34 months in recovery. Since his injury, he has undergone 33 different surgeries, including skin grafts and cosmetic surgery. While in recovery, he started speaking to other burn patients within the hospital, sharing his experiences and listening to theirs. News of his story and efforts to help others quickly spread, first on a local level and then to national circuits, leading to appearances on Oprah, 60 Minutes, CNN and more.

edited to add:  The bio on DWS goes on to describe his work with veterans, giving comfort and aid to other burn victims.

WOW, score of 60 for JR!  He truly did dance well tonight.  I do hope he takes the trophy.

I love JR! I think the final two will be JR (first) and Rikki (second). The third, I think, will be between Hope and Rob.  I think that Nancy needs to go tonight. She just doesn't have the energy to do the jive properly.

My hubby actually watched it with me last night, he is a trucker and ususally on the road. He likes my commentary over the phone on how I feel the stars are doing. Although I had to hide the remote so he wouldn't keep changing to the Bears game. Innocent

Sheila - my husband is also a trucker and watches the show with me when he is in town. Laughing

Oh, it hasn't been a good season at all.  Several times I've tuned in but got bored and changed the channel.  The dancers have all been trying but they just haven't been as entertaining as previous seasons.  I agree, Nancy will probably be eliminated tonight.  I am really impressed with Rikki.   JR is by far the front runner and will probably win the trophy.

I'm looking forward to tonigh'ts dance by the Macy's star dancers.  It's a tribute to Michael Jackson...great timing.

Has anyone hear anything about the ratings this season? They couldn't be too high.

Anyone else watching?  Nice to see Riki going to the finals. Boy, poor Hope can't catch a break. I think she deserved way more than 7-7-7.  I think Maks meltdown has really hurt her chances.  It  would not surprise me if Maks does not return next season.  What do you guys think?

I'm watching. I don't feel really strongly (love or hate) about anybody this year. I like the 3 who made the finals. Rob has done amazingly well from when he started, and the other two always did well. Sometimes I liked Hope and Maks alot, and sometimes not so much. I think his meltdown definitely hurt her chances.

I also thought that Maks meltdown might have hurt Hope's chances but her dancing ability wasn't as polished as the others who did make the finals. At times Hope was dancing very well but at other times it was like she fell apart. I hated that JR hurt his ankle but hope that he will be able to go on and win the whole thing. Rob has impressed me the most with his maturity in some of the dancing. Riki has done well the entire season and I am glad to see her going to the finals.

I too hope JR wins.  He is the best dancer, he is such an inspiration and he is so charming.  I don't think either Ricky or Rob are as good.  Ricky does have the advantage of Derik as her partner.  He is not only very popular but a good enough coach that I sometimes think he could make a sack of potatoes look graceful.  If JR's ankle holds us this could be one of the most interesting finals in several seasons.

I may be finished with DWTS if Maks does not return next season.  Frankly, I think he was pushed to losing his "cool" by those idiot judges!  THEY should be fired and new more responsible ones put on the show.  They seem to get a kick out of embarrassing the dancers.  Telling JR his dance was more like Zero instead of Zorro when the guy did a fantastic job with an injured ankle??  I adore MaK but think "he" wants off of that farce for a "dancing show" because of the way the judges handle it.  He and Hope DID NOT deserve 7's for their dance!  Then again they Carrie Canuka must have seen the Hollywood Reporter's story where Mak dropped an "F" bomb on her.  She deserved it!  She taunted him for "smiling"!  It's obvious that JR will probably win the mirror ball or even the Kardasian kid but who cares at this point now that Mak may be gone for good. Len needs to book a room in some nursing home and let a real judge take over!   I will look for some other horror show to watch tonight!

Medigal...........I agree, the judges this season were brutal............even to Nancy Grace, who I have no love for......to say "Its midnight, the ball is over, its time to go home"...........how rude...............and then again last night...."zero, not zorro"...................and Maks is a fabulous dancer, and did not deserve the comments he and Hope got........she tried...the girl is an athlete, and gave it her best shot.

"Not sure if anyone heard Len say to Derek last night when they showed "what was being said by all"................he said something to Derek, very biased and encouraging at the same time............almost like he knew what his "score" was going to be before he even watched him dance....................

Kardashian has improved greatly........he is a cute kid, and probably the most improved.....however, J.R. should win...............he has the most talent .............although people will say "he won because he is a "war hero"....................no he should win because he is the best dancer...................Ricky is good, but like you said, Derek, could dance with a Grizzly Bear, and make it look like Ginger Rodgers.....................time will tell.

    But Maks, I love.

Yup, and Nancy Grace kept her cool. She was very graceful through it all, maybe cause she is used to dealing with judges. Anyways, I agree the judges have been extremely rude and incensitive this season. They've all taken turns at the dancers. I remember Derek took off one season after having a few words with the judges. Glad he is back.  We shall see what happens with Maks.

I also think the judges were needlessly cruel - in addition to what has been mentioned - remember when they referred to Chaz as a penguin. There is no need to be personally insulting when giving feedback, even when it is not good feedback. They were very very hard on Hope - Maks was only trying to defend her and he was pushed so I understand what happened from his perspective. To tell Hope - who is beautiful and lovely - week after week that she is not sexy -- really no need for that. I understand the need for grace and movement - but it isn't necessarily about being sexy -- If Maks doesn't come back, it will be a loss for the show and I hope he can find himself a better job -- Without a doubt J.R. is the best dancer this season and he should win. Yes, he's a war hero - and he is an outstanding example of courage and humanity - that adds to his appeal - no doubt and why not? Ricki also does consistently well and Rob has improved a lot ... but no one holds a candle to J.R. He's got the full package. While I would not be unhappy to grow up with wealth and privilege, the reality is that Rob has had a relatively easy life (short of losing his father at a young age), but how many could come back from what J.R. has gone through and still be such an outstanding person? He has my votes.

On another note, it is the dancers who have become the stars much more than the celebrities who pretend to be stars - none of them are A list stars. The fact that people like Maks, Derek, Cheryl etc. put so much into this show is what makes it a good show. The judges can be easily replaced - but the dancers are the real stars. Maks was right in his comments.

Agree with all who say that you can be critical of a performance without being insulting to the performer.

On a funny aside, I was watching some of the shows with my dad who has dementia, and he thought that Nancy Grace was my sister! He has lost interest since his 'daughter' has been canned. Tongue out

I agree, JR will probably win this season. He's got lots of rhythm and great moves.  It's hard to imagine all he's been through.   I'm disapointed at the judges for how poorly they've behaved this season.  Yes, I remember the pinguin comment too.  It was extemely insensitive of Bruno.  Also, Hope has worked so hard and the judges didn't seem to acknowledge it.  Shame on them.

Ruth - too funny...bless his heart!!! I agree the dancers make the show. They are the ones who work hard week after week.

Bruno is the worst to insult the dancer's physical appearance when he is supposed to be giving constructive criticism about the dance. This season he not only described Chaz as a penguin but also on another dance called Chaz an ewok. I didn't consider those comments as constructive. Words can hurt people. When I was in Junior high school, due to my small size, I was called a 'munchkin' by the other students from other elementary schools that didn't know about my back surgery in the 5th grade that stopped my growth and it still hurts when I think about it. Criticism should be constructive and not based on physical attributes that cannot be changed.

hrf, I agree that they were so critical of Hope and saying she wasn't 'sexy' but should have said that her movements were not as graceful as they could have been. Graceful does not equal sexy.

I agree that the professional dancers have become the 'stars' of this show and not the actors that are learning the dances.
