Ha, ha, Kaara, very good point!

I saw Bristol on GMA this morning without Mark, and I wondered why he wasn't with her.  I thought it was customary for both partners to make the rounds together after they've been voted off.  So it seemed to me like their big rift was still there.

I also heard that she refused to do interviews last night and he did them alone. He made some excuse that she was emotional about being voted off. I bet she's just a bad sport. Glad she's gone.

I feel sorry for Bristol only for the fact that she was invited on the show purely for publicity and ratings for the show. Her talent level is no where near the level of the "all stars" let alone the winners. The fact that 2 previous winners were voted off before her, shows peoples' bias in voting. As for her attitude after the show, she knew this would happen at some point.  I know she is only human, but she knew what she signed up for.

I think the producers deliberatley select a couple of stars each season who probably won't be very good dancers and should be eliminated early, perhaps to keep more talented stars from being eliminated before they really show their potential and also to generate a little controversy if they aren't eliminated soon enough.

chabba - DH says the same thing about American Idol.

He says that somewhere he read that the final results - even after "viewer voting" - are totally at the discretion of the producers, and that THEY decide what makes a good show. Undecided

And don't forget they get paid on a sliding pay scale, the longer you stay the more your money increases and I don't think that Bristol has a "real world" job so this was a nice pay packet.  I thought she was growing emotionally but now I'm not so sure, you know you're not the best dancer, this is "all stars" and it is a dance competition.

I'm house sitting so I don't have my own dvr where I can go back and forth and freeze my tv, but last night in the recap show when Derek and Shawns dance was shown someone on the balcony was saying things like "go baby" "yes baby" "that's my girl" and then when they showed them coming up the stairs someone embraced her so is she dating one of the professionals - to me it looked like Mark but I could be and probably am wrong!!!!

On Idol it is obvious that they select for a certain number of no talents.  After all they all audition.

I'm pretty sure most people here don't like Bristol because she can't dance and she's not a star. I actually like Sarah Palin. She's a hoot.

Botty, really?  Bristol has very little dancing talent especially compared to this season's all star cast.  Her mom isn't even on my radar, I couldn't really care less one way or the other about her.  And I'd rather Kirstie was voted off before Bristol.  Hey, I post on this thread because I let myself believe other people care about my opinion......lol.....in other words, it is ALL in good fun, just like this show, which I totally and absolutely love.......

I agree with the majority...Bristol was not the same level dancer as the others.  I thought she should have gone home before this week.

I did see Karina slip. It looked like her shoe just slipped and slid out from under her.  Not really anything "she" did wrong.  I did feel sorry for her.  She hit hard.  I am sure it hurt. She'll bounce back.  I was glad it didnt cause them to go...caz I do like Apollo.

Botty no one cares about Bristols mother, we all love DWTS because of the dancing.  Based on her dancing ability she should have been gone week 2, Pamela was week 1 cause she was hopeless but Bristol lasted all those extra weeks because people who liked her mother voted for her, it's a free country they were allowed, we're just expressing our opinions based on her dancing ability.

Would anyone watching the show say that Bristol dances as good as or better than Melissa or Sabrina?  I think not.  We all seemed to be in agreement when Pam Anderson was the first to go because she was awful.  And the only reason I think Kirstie is around is because her partner, Maks, has a big fan base of his own.  If Kirstie was paired with Toni, she'd probably be gone by now.

Believe it or not, an older woman I know doesn't care so much for this season because she thinks its too much hoopla and tricks and not enough dancing. But I love it.  And my friend is a big Toni fan and doesn't think Melissa is a good partner, but I think she's his best partner ever.  So, to each her own.

Goodness, the only thing I care about is the quantity of the dancing. for instance, I love Cher, don't care one bit about Chaz's sex, but was glad to see him go because he was not a good dancer. Same with Bristol. She surely has improved, but is not, dancing-wise, in the same league as the others (except Kirstie, and Kirstie has more of the showmanship angle which got her to this week...when I think she should go no matter how fun she is).

I agree with you Ruth.  I always think it is a shame when stars that just can't meet the standards set by the majority of the dancers stay on and good dancers are eliminated in their stead.  I thought it was a shame that Heilo went so soon and they both stayed.  In Bristol's favor I thought she has matured as a person a lot since her first season.  And this year she seemed to be enjoying herself more.

Too funny, one of my friends also loves Tony and thinks he always get bad partners and she is soooooo happy this season as he finally has someone decent to dance with, I don't think they'll go all the way but I like Melissa as well, poor guy remember the season he got Kate Gosselin he really put up with some antics that year, and you know I keep saying I'd like Derek to get a "not so good" dancer and see how far he could go but he really is one of their best choreographers so I don't think that will ever happen.

Yes, I'd like to see Toni get a great partner in the regular season and win sometime.  I don't think he's ever won.  There's just so much great competition this season that I don't think it will happen this time.

If Bristol had the dancing talent that Melissa or Sabrina had, she'd still be in the running.  If Melissa or Sabrina danced as poorly as Bristol, they'd have been voted off before Helio and Drew.  I agree with Ruth, Chaz--ha, ha, I'd almost forgot about Chaz, but 'he' stuck around as long as he did because of his mom, too, and he was terrible.  I love Cher, but that wouldn't have made me vote for Chaz.  On the other hand, say if I really didn't like Cher, but Chaz danced as good as Emmett or Sabrina, he might have gotten some of my votes regardless of how I felt about his mom.

Chaz was among the several celebrities over the seasons that I rather enjoyed as personalities but never voted for because of their dancing.  Creasey and "Woz" from Apple were two of the others.

Now I wish I had started watching from the beginning instead of just last season!

Made it hard for the Packers to cut Donald Driver, so he still has a job in Green Bay.

(they were talking about his age, he's 37 for cryin' out loud!  Maybe that's old in pro football.)

Two minute warning for tonight's show!

Gosh, I just love this show.

I vote "Call Me Maybe" as 2012's song of the year; love it, it's infectious.  The freestyle they did tonight to this tune was a total blast to watch.  Excellent.

Surprisingly, I thought Kirstie Alley looked beautiful tonight and danced well.  Can't believe I'm sayin' that, but I loved the "Mrs. Robinson" take.

Brooke Burke was doin' the Barbie look and I thought she looked great.

Didn't care for Kelly Monaco's dance.  She's a bit different.

Is it my imagination, or does Giles' wife (or girlfriend) cringe every time Peta jumps up on Giles and wraps her legs around him?

OMG-----Cari Anne falling off her chair!!!!!!!  HYSTERICAL!

Wow another great show tonight, loved the freestyle.  Read an interview with Cheryl today and she said Peta and Maks are dating, hope tomorrow night is as good as tonight, it's so hard to choose who not to vote for.

I agree, freestyle team dance was just excellent!  I really enjoyed it last night...one hour at a time is enough for me.  I wish they would keep it to that and they could if they cut out all the other stuff!

I just love Shawn and Derek...they are the ones to beat.  Derek's coreography is outstanding!  The french guy is good, but somehow he's not my favorite.

Yes, especially as this is TV in the U.S., I think an Olympic gold medalist who dances that well is going to trump a fabulous looking French guy who dances almost as well.

Last week when they had to chose who they wanted in their group, Derek right away told Shawn to pick Sabrina and I thought that was great because they're similar in size and look and similar quality of dance.  I thought it added to the appeal of the dance, and then Melissa and Karina balanced each other out.

Derek is the best dancer, cochoreographer and teacher as far as I'm concerned.  The paring of Shawn and Sabrina would naturally be his first thought.  I'm not sure Shawn has as much natural grace of movement as some contestants but her gymnastics have certainly taught her how to control her body and that grace is developing nicely.  She started out good and I think she has improved every week.

I think it will be tonight.  Did you notice that the individual dancers last night were all team 2?  My guess that after team 2 dances the judges scores will be added to the combined scores.

I did not like having to vote after seeing only half the contestants dance as couples and the rest as a team.

Hey, good question.  They did not explain that very well AT ALL.  I googled it and this is what I got:

The scores and votes still count, but they’ll be added to next week’s scores for what appears to be another double elimination.

It's pretty jumbled, and I didn't vote at all.
