Watching DWTS for the first time in several seasons. Like the new host team-so much better than Tyra by herself. I'm rooting for Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylie although I do have to admit that Chandler is pretty good. Was so nervous last night but glad that Jen Tran went home. Happy that she won the dance-off. At least she could go off on a high note and I thought that she and her partner did do a slightly better job with the salsa. Thinking of you, dear Divinemrsm.

Thanks everyone! What a difference a day makes! My morning was crazy but got better. My roommate was discharged so it has been quiet and this evening has been so relaxing. I guess a hospital environment has lots of dips and turns and you gotta roll with it! My brother sent me fresh cut flowers which are not just beautiful but they also smell lovely; orange, red and pink mums and roses. He’s a brother who never says much, so it was a thoughtful gesture of him.

    Hello, chicagoan!

Wonderland, congratulations on the birth of a brand new baby granddaughter!!! 🎉🍼🚼 It’s always such exciting news! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Several of us here seem to dislike the dance offs. It feels like DWTS uses them as a filler. I much prefer the trio dances. It’s great that the dances are getting so much betrer, it makes them more fun to watch.

divine: I am so glad to hear that things are more relaxing for you. Your brother must love you very much even though it's hard for him to say it. How thoughtful that he sent you fresh cut flowers. And they smell lovely! Sending more HUGS to you ❤️

Thanks Ruthbru! I've really enjoyed it this year. The tweaks they made seem to be working. Bruno is a bit over the top for me but otherwise, it is quite enjoyable. I like Stephen so much that I use my 20 votes for him each night!

I think the hosts are great this year. They don't try to be the stars of the show! I'm still spreading my votes out!

Good Evening Ladies. Divine, I hope you are feeling good enough to watch the show. Make comments if you feel like it, if not just enjoy. 💞

I'm making comments as I watch the show.

Joey/Jenna: I really think Joey has a chance to win but this dance was not that compelling for me. It was more of a "let's watch Jenna dance" dance.

Danny/Witney: That was energizing to watch. Good music and I really liked it. Danny looked like he was having fun.

Dwight/Daniella: I liked the way they started on the platform. Seems like Daniella did most of the dancing.

Stephen/Rylee: So eloquent, flowing. Stephen didn't rush his moves. Loved it.

Chandler/Brandon: Best dance so far. I feel like they both are professional dancers, not just Brandon. Chandler is SO good!

Ilona/Alan: Pure Fun with a capital F! Great music, lively, and they were having a blast.

Instant Dancing - All dancers did a good job considering they only had 5 minutes to prepare a dance. I think Joey and Chandler were the best. I'll say one thing, Ilona is so strong! The way she lifted Alan was amazing.

I don't know who will be voted off. I suspect one of 2 couples.

They just voted off one of those couples that I suspected. They will be missed.

I also hope you were able to enjoy the show, Divine!

    Here's my notes:

*Joey & Jenna-I liked both of their dances, they really have lovely lines.

*Danny & Whitney-I thought their first dance was really fun, but didn't really like their instant dance that much.

*Dwight & Daniella- Very clever use of the stage in the first dance & I thought the Jive was good too. The height difference is challenging, but I like him so much. Such a sweet personality.

*Stephen & Rylee- Wow! He has really improved. He is so much more polished, and smooth. Another lovely, bubbly person.

*Chandler & Brandon- They are certainly the couple to beat. Yes, they both do look professional.

Ilona & Alan-very strong, but I thought the first dance was kind of frantic & didn't like the music of the second (which was not their fault, of course).

I didn't really like the Instant Dance format. It didn't seem that fair to people who weren't as experienced with dance.

I wasn't surprised by who got voted off, but I was sad anyway.

Semifinals next week. I believe 3 couples to through to the end. I think Chandler & Brandon will be in it, but I'm not sure about the other two.

Had to miss tonight. I'll try to catch some of the dances on YouTube

Thinking of you Divine. Sending my love to you.

Chandler/Brandon: That was so good! Lots of sexy moves. Her outfit was perfect for the dance.

Joey/Jenna: They were having so much fun. I really liked how they sped up the dance at the end. They were flying.

Ilona/Alan: She looked so fierce with sharp movements. Looked like Alan (representing the male dancer) was going to get what he wanted at the end of the dance.

Danny/Witney: Not their best dance. He looked stiff.

Stephen/Riley: Considering that Stephen admitted in the initial interview that he's not very sexy, I think he did the best he could. You can't get sexy overnight.

Didn't mean to post that so quickly but I'm just going to leave it up. Now on to the 2nd dances of the night. (Obviously I'm typing here as I'm watching the show).

Chandler/Brandon: Talk about a different foxtrot! It was like I was watching a dramatic play. Loved it.

Joey/Jenna: Joey has good rhythm and stays with the beat but 2 judges said he was off a couple of times. I thought it was good but I liked Ilona's paso better.

Ilona/Alan: Alan choreographed the V. Waltz perfectly for her considering that she doesn't describe herself as graceful or elegant. The smile on her face while dancing says it all.

Stephen/Riley: Much better than 1st dance. The audience even clapped along. And he lost his glasses during the middle of it! And they danced with a spotlight following them. It was great.

Danny/Witney: Those lifts! Crazy. The lifts were amazing but it seemed like she was doing most of the dancing.

I don't know who will be voted off. They all have special qualities.

Well, that was a surprise ending!

I like all the semi-finalists so much that I feel bad about any of them going home! (I won't say anymore about that in case someone reading hasn't seen the ending yet.) I loved Julianne's surprise dance.

    My notes from tonight:

*Chandler & Brandon- they are very professional & smooth. I liked their second dance better than their first, but both were very good.

*Joey & Jenna-of all the couples, I liked their two dances the best. He really does get into the character of the dance. The first dance looked like it was from an old movie. And he looks like he is having so much fun.

*Ilona & Alan-she has improved so much! I especially loved the second dance when she showed her feminine side, which brought a tear to my eye.

*Danny & Whitney-very good and smooth. He does need to work on the performance aspect.

Stephen & Rylee-first dance was a little frantic. The second dance was great despite the glasses malfunctioning.

I'm making my comments short bc I'm in the middle of much cooking for dh's birthday tomorrow while taking a break to watch the show.

My notes during Redemption Dance: Love Stephen's smile; Joey has good rhythm and knows how to use it; the way Danny looked at Witney at the end of the dance was very touching; it was painful watching clips of Ilona's first jive and she did so much better this time!; Chandler's jive was amazing and full of energy.

My notes during the Free Style Dance: I cried during Stephen's dance. It was amazing; Carrie Anne was wrong about Joey's dance being underwhelming. It was disappointing that she said it (does she want them to lose?). I thought it was fun to watch; I couldn't believe that Witney was literally thrown into Danny's arms and he caught her, the Barbie theme was perfect for him; Ilona finally got to dance they way she wants to without constraints of a particular dance rules, I loved it!; Chandler is so good, she looks like one of the professional dancers. Loved it!

Surprise winner as I thought another person would win but the winner has been my favorite from the beginning.

Thanks for letting me join you this year. Divine, I think about you every day. Just want you to know that you are loved.

    Happy Thanksgiving Ladies!

Well, that was a fun evening! I would have been happy no matter who won; but the winner has consistently been one of my favorites. Some notes:

*I loved all of the redemption dances!

*Stephen's freestyle was perfect for him. (I didn't know that Rylee was only 19!)

*I, like Carrie Ann, wasn't completely sold on the use of the tennis rackets in Joeys.

*Danny makes a very handsome Ken. A fun dance!

*Ilona's Rugby dance was very fun.

*I thought Chandler's final dance was so impressive!

    What a great season!!

You will be cooked out with DH's birthday & Thanksgiving falling back-to-back, Wonderland! Thinking of you, Divine!

I had to go out tonight so I couldn't watch the finale. I peeked at who won and was surprised. I'll try and catch the finale on Hulu this week. All in all, it has been a very good season.

It was good! I really, really liked the hosts, and there was such a positive chemistry between all of the contestants & their pros…..I would have been happy with whichever couple won, although I did think that technically Chandler and Joey were the top two. It's kind of fun (and amazing) when a contestant without a dance background wins!

hello to all! It’s nice to pop back on this thread and see my name mentioned. Not that I ever would think you would forget me. Right now I’m using the phone thingy and have her (the phone) type all this out.

It’s been of course a very hectic October and November. I’ve been dealing with all the MBC stuff, and trying to fit the dancing with the stars stuff in between lol. Because of that, it seems like squeezing all the DWTS performances has been a bit choppy for me.

For one thing I thought the performances were all a bit long. I think Steven tried to come across as sexy, but I think he missed the mark. I don’t think ANY of the contestants hit the” pizzazz “ mark. Whitney and her partner I can’t think of who he is—They just didn’t have a certain charisma. It’s like they tried to manufacture it. They seemed to have the same style of dance throughout the season. I just didn’t think Chandler had what it took either. Well I hope I’m not rambling on too much. I’m gonna go back and kind of look at the dances and see if I have further comments on them.

I loved Stephen and Rylee's freestyle. I like his natural personality (or what it seems to be). I agree that they try and force all of them to be sexy and sometimes it comes across as comical. I may try and see the DWTS tour this time since I enjoy Stephen so much and he is one of the co-hosts.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of us in the USA!

wow to the Julianne Hough surprise dance! She definitely brought out the pizazz factor, and she always does when we least expect it! Even though I didn’t care for her dress or the music, I still thought she Brought the goods like no one else can or no one else does

Great to hear from you, Divine & your thoughts as you catch up on the season.

There is one thing I rather missed in the free style dances. This year, they were all geared toward showing off each contestants strengths & were fast paced and action packed. Some years they are more dramatic, romantic & sensual. Remember Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy? When they danced, you couldn't help believing that they were madly in love.

So good to hear from you Divine!

I couldn't compare this year's show to other shows since this was my first year of consistently watching it every week and getting to know the couples. The Free Style Dances on the finale were long and over the top in comparison to other dances but I thought that's how it's been done in the past. I'm glad I watched it every week and looked forward to everyone's comments to see if they were similar or different to mine. Thanks for letting me be a part of the thread this year!

Ruth, I think every season is meant to have its own style of buildup. Max and Merrill had their own specialness between them that won’t ever really be replaced. The same with Julianne and the guy who danced with her to Pachinko. (can’t remember what his name was). But you are right, I think we all enjoy the times when 2 contestants create a kind of dreamy magic that takes us all away. And sadly, I feel that style of dance has perhaps gone away. But we can dream! Maybe next season will bring out some highlights we haven’t yet seen. I’ll give it a chance!

… and Wonderland, it was absolutely wonderful having you and all others chiming in with comments about the different routines. It sure made for more enjoyable viewing!

It's always more fun to watch DWS together & to compare notes!! It wouldn't be nearly as fun if I were only discussing it with my dog!! 😀
