Jaz, loved the surprise song, love TM anyway.
Sahalie, love the peace, beauty, and only the sound of nature in your beach scenes
Goodmorning all beach jewels. Hope everyone has a wonderful day after the holidays and family. Time to get back into routine.
Celia, thanks for reposting that picture. I do see what I am doing wrong now and will try again. I will also have to make an hour trip to get some more sticks for the glue gun. I won't give up, it will just take longer.
Thank you so much to all that pm'd me their BD. I appreciate it. Remember if more of you do, I don't need the year, just the month and day.
Move over beach friends, here I come to make a big splash

To Believe
To believe is to know that every day
is a new beginning.
It is to trust that miracles happen,
and dreams really do come true.
To believe is to see angels dancing among the clouds,
To know the wonder of a stardust sky
and the wisdom of the man in the moon.
To believe is to know the value of a nurturing heart,
The innocence of a child's eyes
and the beauty of an aging hand,
for it is through their teachings we learn to love.
To believe is to find the strength
and courage that lies within us.
When it is time to pick up the pieces and begin again.
To believe is to know we are not alone,
That life is a gift and this is our time to cherish it.
To believe is to know that wonderful surprises
are just waiting to happen,
And all our hopes and dreams are within reach.
If only we believe.
~ author unknown ~The beach is here for you to come relax. Breathe.
Drink Lemonade or whatever your heart desires.

Come to think of it they did just open an ace hardware here. will try that.
I forgot to tell you guys about my duck this morning. My husband and I usually sit on the porch in the cool of the morning and the duck come up and eats the cat food then the dog food while I tell him what a sweet baby he is and just talk to him and he will come up for me to pet him. Well this morning my husband wanted me to read a catholic newspaper about Obama and abortion and I guess the duck wasn't getting the attention he was used too, he kept coming up and grabbing my pants trying to get my attention, at first I though it was the dog but raised the paper up and it was the duck, he did not give up until I put the paper down and petted him. He really Quacks me up at time. My grandson says I have the strangest animals. Boy do I love them though.

Happy Tuesday. I feel like the sand is falling thru the proverbial hourglass. I'm always bittersweet with Labor Day -- all too soon we will be departing our playground life here and head back to the city. We still have about 10 days remaining..........
You'll all be delighted that I'm going to go out to my little 'studio' and jump into a brand new quilt illustration. I got all the fabrics ironed before lunch. I've decided to attempt to create a mountain scene. If anybody has Rocky Mountain pictures -- I'd appreciate the inspiration.
So I hope I'm a little less present here, in the hopes of being more present in my efforts to make progress. Sending love to you all!!
Another daisy, for my friends-in-the-pink:

Don't forget us Faith, keep us in your heart while you are doing your mountain scenes.

hi beachettes!
summer has returned here in the pacific northwest. sunny and beautiful....hope it lasts a while.
sahalie, i love that picture you posted of the wave...very refreshing! I hope you have enjoyed your holiday and are getting ready for your trip to paradise which is approaching. I am planning some "art to travel with" for you.
spar, i am glad to hear your brave spirit say that you will find a way to do the heart of sticks. Your duck sounds so affectionate and sweet. I love the Picasso quote. The stained glass is gorgeous.
saint, thanks for posting the pic of the striped cat for me. I have a big, fat, wonderful, almost 18 year old striped cat who is the biggest love. i also have a very strange black cat, like my avatar, who is the oddest cat i have ever known. I love them both like crazy. I hope this week turns out good for you. I hope your doggie is ok.
julz, what nice-looking sons you have. Don't work too hard this week, and be sure to come to the beach.
jasmine, i hope to see new pics of your needlework as i missed the first ones.
margaret, you need some art to travel with also.....and soon too. wow! Maui! that is too cool.
socal lisa, i love those balloons. i thought when you said civilization, that you meant you were back in California !! Soon, i hope!
footie, i am always keeping you in my heart and thoughts. Hope you are feeling better. Any news about getting a ramp made yet?
faith, what projects are you working on today? I can't keep up with your amount of energy. thank you for the daisies. i just read that you are doing a mountain illustration quilt.
look what i found on the beach today......Yoga Laughers
They are Laughter Yoga people. The third picture from the top, on the left is the founder of Laughter Yoga.
anyone that i missed, hugs to you!

faith, here is my favorite beauty, Mt. Rainier. She always looks like a big ice cream sundae with marshmallow syrup.

Oh I like the last one. So vibrant in color.
Faith I meant to mention about the ribbon quilt you posted a picture of a few pages back.
It was gorgeous.
Will your mountain quilt be a teaching tool? Any mountain animals on it.
One idea I have for you is to do a 'where's waldo' type thing on the quilt only with
animals that live ON a mountain.
Such as mountain goats. Snow Leopards. Elk. Wolves. mountain lions.
A lion's den. dead tree stumps. Large and small boulders. So many things.
So you see if it is a learning quilt and you put all the animals on the mountain
images the kids would have to find them as they are created to blend into the
mountain for their survival.
There's a nice website with all sorts of ideas called rockymountainquilts.com
Just an idea.

Hi Celia.
I'm liking that laughing idea. I always try to have a smile on me face.
It's the best thing for our spirit when out of no where we realize we are smiling.
Great pictures. I know people who do primal screaming for a release of stress.
I stay farrrrrrrrrrr away from them. Gives me stress just thinking of them.
I'm smiling ! : )

Celia, I do plan to repost them. Its just getting them redone and uploaded again. I will work on that this evening. Hopefully, they won't be so blurry.

Celia...... I "own" a smile-on-a-stick, as demonstrated above...... wonder where it's wandered off?
It's it a special file that includes my bumper sticker collection. I've used it as part of my 'keynotes' in the past, but have forgotten where it's ended up???
Off to work my dear, creative friends........ thanks for the mountain views above. Spar, putting you on "assignment" is like instant gratification. You're the best.
Sahalie. we'll see where I end up, but I'm thinking that i'll be more at a 'distance' than close up, as per the animals etc...... of course i'll need to deal with the foreground at some point. maybe a happy moose in calico pants??
here's to more laughing in all of our lives!!

Happy sewing Faith.
I made all my kids quilts. Bibs. Car seat quilted covers so they wouldn't burn their little chubby
legs on a hot car seat.
I also made coveralls etc.
I used to love to sew.
It's so gratifying to create.
Laters shining shells everyone. Work interrupts.

Hey beachie kids!
Welcome back Lisa!!! Can't wait for your travelogue! I took dh up in a balloon a few years ago. It was sooooo fun!
Spar---just love that duck story!!! You sure have a LOT going on in your world! I get tired just reading about you & F&F with all your energy!!
Sahalie---I LOVE the pix-especailly that wave! Nature is an awesome wonder! I used to sew too-------TONS! I started sewing when I got pregnant & saw the price of maternity clothes. Kept right on sewing for the kids for years. I made those little Daisy Kingdom pinafores for my dd & matching vests/tie for my son---even made the matching doll dresses!! The doll clothes took longer than the child clothes!!! What we don't do for our kiddies...
Celia---love your pix!! My kitty boy is 13--from the human society & he is one sturdy, solid, noisy cat! I did not get to volunteer today since Alphie is sick. Of course he had to go to the vet on a holiday! Seems he's healing, tho. fingers crossed,,,,,,
Faith---you sew girl!! LOL I have 2 unfinished quilts that may have to remain that way unless someone can take over--one is paper pieced! SOMETHING will be done with those squares even if they don't get made into the quilt! Can't wait to see your work.
Julz & everyone-thanx for the support & good wishes for today. It went really well- I spent the am on the phone with one of my best friends & then composed some letters--b4 I knew it everyone was home!
BIg hugs A-Z====be well & stay strong---gonna go spend time with my family!
today's pix------5 to 10,000 years ago Crater Lake was a caldera just like Mt St Helens (first pic)........see what a little time can do??

I feel like a slug. The first time I go to hospital I forgot my quilt so I didnt get to work on it. I have completed nothing beyond walking, talking and breathing. The last being the most important of course.
I sent my kitty picture to Saint with the hopes that she would put it up for me. The brown cat (Maine Coone) passed away from breast cancer. She was diagnosed 7 months after I was and passed just before my first cancer-versary.
I am really looking forward to the first exciting thing to happen to me in a long long time. I get to go to Las Vegas and meet a large number of chatters. I wont get them all straight in my head and I hope they like me in person as much as they do in chat.
