The black sand makes for a very interesting affect in the pictures.  Love them both.

I am off to bed, No midnight sewing/quilting tonight.  Going to try and get some rest for the trip tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Well, we're at Hideaway this weekend, probably our next to last weekend ... will close up next week. Such mixed feelings. I thrive here...I relax here...I see sun and clouds and water here. And yet about this time of year, once Friday comes around, I'm tired and I just want to relax at home. If only someone could just transport me, all clothes included, then maybe I'd extend our season! So here's one of my fav pics from this past season. That's hub in the chair, and the deserted beach is how we usually find it when we walk down to our section, and that's just so awesome. It's pics like this that get me through a PA winter!!!  Love and hugs kids.

Kay, never fear about the quality of pictures here -- we do indeed have an amazing array of talent. I will tell you with a great depth of sincerity, that just by hanging out with these amazing photographers, my own photos have improved. Many are willing to share their tricks of the trade, but even more than that -- I think its the appreciation of others that makes taking my own shots that much more fun. Having an audience ins pires me to take a few 'extra' shots -- until I compose a better picture, edit just a bit more, get the horizon line straightened out yada yada.

I know I appreciate every photo that our beachies take the time to post -- whether from their own camera or that of a search. Be ye not intimidated, just join in the fun.

I think the idea of ol' time Beach Blanket Bingo would be an awesome theme for our upcoming party!!!!! Now what about snacks? Or shall we have the whole affair catered?

Today was my keynote and 4 hours worth of presentations after that.

I'm about the consistency of jello..... but it all went exceedingly well and I'm THRILLED!

I have the day off tomorrow and then two day residency in an elementary school up in the north end of the state, with a staff and principal who truly treat me like a DIVA!!!!!

    nighty-night!

Mar..........is that the Delaware Bay beach....................that is what is at the end of my street, that is why I ask...............................My daughter and I take the kids down all the time, just to walk, fly a kite, or just watch the water, and throw stones......................very peaceful place..............not a lot of shoebees.................................hugs, enjoy your last couple weekends..................

Faith, I agree 100% that seeing everyone else's pics, especially you and SoCalLisa, makes me enjoy sharing mine even more. Oh, and of course Mum and her dh's pics!!

Ducky, yes, that's the Delaware Bay. Our campground owns the land from where our sites end down the road to the bay. We're at Hideaway Beach on Route 47, just past Reeds Beach if you're familiar with that stretch at all. Watching the water, and the occasional turtle or ray, is our favorite thing to do. There are about 15 species of shore birds that come to that section too, with some real beauties like the white heron. Every time we go we'll see something we didn't see before.  Aaahhh, I hate leaving it!

Mar ........that is the way it looks at the end of my street.........It is peaceful, and I would love to have a place right on the bay .........those homes are worth 1 million or more, in a good market...probably cheaper now.........however I would miss my pool if I ever moved from the house I own now ............It is very big .....20x42.........when we had it built many people came to the house........after my husband died, not so many, so now we rattle around like nuts in a shell when we're in it, but it does give you plenty of room to have fun...........2 of my grandchildren are down there all the time during the "season", and they love to go to the bay, and turn over all the "rays" that can't turn over themselves..............nothing prettier then "sunset over the bay".......actually Mar I think it is even prettier then over the ocean...............let's hope the winter goes by fast..................and yes I know right where your place is..................

I've always thought they look "like a painting" and not something real.  I think it is the clearly defined blocks of color.  Other birds are as colorful but not so well "color blocked".

Lisa, I tried to get that paper but didn't find it in the US but I'll have a good look here.  If I can't find any could I get you to send me some?  I will of course pay for it and the postage should I need for it to be sent.

I took this at Huntingtom Beach while I was there.

    Love n hugs.  Chrissy

LUV LUV LUV LUV LUV those shared sunsets, Chabba!!!!!

Mum: that 'fluffy' bird looks like he needs a comb: LOL.

Barbe: how funny that we'd be connected by a cross-word, today.

Lisa: did you mean 'paint' as in photo-treatment, or are you really going to paint???

Well beachies. I have just seriously WORKED the last four days out of five. These last two days I have given 8 different 40 minute concerts per day to 50 school aged children at a time.....yup, for each of two days, plus a beginning launch concert for approx 500 students together in their cafeteria and then most amazing end-of-day gauntlet thru the halls today at the end of the day -- to say good-by.

Sat. was the keynote followed by 2 workshops, of 2 hours each. Friday the family concert.

Let me go on record as saying, "I LUV this life!!!" Please remind me never to schedule this much fun in such a continual calendar. LOL. I've made it and only have a dental appointment tomorrow.

This principal is one of my favorite professionals on earth and the two days were a blessing in so many ways. This is her final year as she has officially retired. My visit was her gift to her staff. How delightful is that?

    xx00xx00xx00xx

Hubby came along to supervise, haul everything in, set up the quilts, sell the books, and did all the driving..... so all I have to do is shine for the kiddos. Which makes it 'do-able' if you squint.

Am so happy to pop thru and see all the pictures and visiting and kindness.

Chrissy. In my exhaustion I forgot to mention how happy I am to see you back, splashing in our midst. It's always great to have our 'regulars' that have been away for a while checking back in to our midst -- and when you can share your beachie views -- all the better!

Actually, when I just scroll thru this page, I see soooooooooooooo many peeps!!!!

This senset was taken at the pier in Huntington Beach and the gull was floating on the wind and some of the color from the sunset was reflecting from its feathers.
