this is a few miles from the beach, but it was just so pretty...I must get myself motivated to drive to the shore for a sunset...it is only 20 minutes away...

I agree with chubba that the deer gets everything, fruit, veggies, and roses, and tree before the raccoons. Especially here where their habitat is shrinking so fast because of all the development. We often have groups of them running down the neighborhood streets and through the yards. Forget the fences, they are over them in a heartbeat! At least they have not eaten my marigolds, yet!
Lisa love the sunset pics and make me miss getting to see my daughter in Monterey where we would go to the beach every evening and watch the sunsets. She lives in Japan now so I can hardly wait to go see her and watch the sunrises.
I love all the pics and one of these days I will remember to use Chrome instead of Safari and maybe I can post some pictures.

Oooh, pretty! What is that in the middle of the field???

That is another picture from the local newspaper, taken down on our beach. Probably driftwood.
Editted to add: Yes, driftwood. I zoomed in on it and it is a log. The picture was taken from the end of the log.
You can enlarge pics and print by clicking on the little 100% in the lower right of your screen.

MUM.....ahhhhh Mexico.....I hope your having a wonderful time!
Chabba I love that sunset! What bird is that?

That bird must be made out of metal as you can see through the slots that define the wings and see the water!!!!

Yeah Barbe....I can see it now....not wide awake yet! I have to catch up on my sleep!

julz, the bird is a blue heron. We have a lot of them around here so they are a popular subject for all kinds of art, including metal silhouette sculpture.

They are back in town! It is hunting season so the bucks are in from the hills. They seem to know they are safe in town.

In Alaska, the moose line the highway during hunting season. It's illegal to shoot them within a hundred yards of the highway.

And I thought our deer were smart! LOL
