AJ, good attitude :) Reminds me of a line a chatter used to say and I've been repeating a lot to others and use as my tag line ... Worry doesn't rob tomorrow of its troubles, it robs today of its joys.

AJ, are you underweight or just losing weight? I'm losing weight but think it's because my thyroid meds from February have finally kicked in. I'm down two clothing sizes. Am I in denial? I still have weight to lose, so I'm not worried....yet....

Barbe, congrats on losing the weight and meds working! I've lost 6 lbs in 4 weeks...with trying...and have about 50 more to go but I'm thankful that I'm not gaining, finally.

Barbe, congratulation on losing the weight you needed to lose.  To answer your question, yes I had plenty of weight to lose and I have gone from a size 22 to a size 10 or 12 depending on where I shop over the last 2 years.  I would like to lose about 25 more lbs., but onco wants me to keep some extra weight on so that if I have to move on to what he calls harsher treatments that my body will be able to handle it better.  I am currently on Femara and Aredia and those are the only things I have been on for my treatment since 2010.  I still don't think I look any different when I look in the mirror I still see a fat me.  My DH says I look really good and he is proud to take me places and let people know that I belong to him.  Sweet man.

AJ, be careful hon. Yrs ago I lost 60 lbs - needed to lose 50 but kept going 'cause I kept seeing the overweight me too. But people in work told me "enough" when I didn't realize it myself. I hope hub nad others will keep you in line ... a size 10 is wonderful and more normal than a size 4 for most body types. Please just be careful.

Just a follow up to add that I gained that 60 back, and more. Now trying to lose the healthy way. 6 lbs in the last 4 weeks ... slow but consistent so I'm fine with that. When I'm 80, I'll be hot as hell :)

AJ, your sizing is PERFECT!!! And I know what the docs mean about the extra weight to fight. I don't think too many of my girlfriends could have lived through what my body has been through....sigh. I also know what you mean about seeing the "fat girl" as I saw her when I was skinnier!!! Go figure. Now I'm surprised when I see a pic and I'm fat, like who's that fat chick? Since I've lost the weight I don't know what my body image is as I don't know what I weigh, only what my clothing size is. My upper torso stays large even though I don't have breasts because I have VERY broad shoulders!! It's my bottom half and face I guess, that have lost the weight so far. I am a size 14 now, down from an 18 and very happy about it. I look healthy still.

Barbe, I think you look awesome, but I love you so I'm prejudiced :) I'm a 1x or 2x and aiming for 14. Then maybe I'll try for lower, but I'll be happy with a "good" 14. It's funny, 'cause when I was out with my girls looking for dresses for their weddings, they were shocked at the size I had to try on. They thought I was a much smaller size! I'm all belly - not large on top or bottom, but to find something to fit my middle, need a very large size. I kind of liked that they thought I was a 14'ish size instead of the 20 or 22 that I had to get in a dress, and then get it altered.

18 yrs ago at 5' 10" I was 220 lbs and wore a size 22.  At that point you could have said the slimmest I had ever been was chubby.  Mom had always been obese and a yo-yo dieter.  I vowed not to be like her and lost weight slowly by changing lifestyle and eating habits, making no drastic changes that wouldn't be maintained.  I got down to 180, size 18. I felt good, everyone said I looked good and I was happy, had no problem maintaining.  I still felt like a Big person but was comfortable with it.   In Dec 1999 I got pancreatitis.
A week that I don't remember in the hospital and six weeks in a nursing home.  At discharge I weighed 108 pounds.  Since then I've had trouble gaining and keeping on weight.  Before BC I had managed to get up to 160, PCP wanted me back to at least to 170 but I was satisfied even though I still felt like a Big person.  Since I've been on Tamoxifen I'm down to 130 and fighting to keep from losing more, and I sometimes still feel big.  It helps me feel smaller that the two days a week that I volunteer in the Senior Center kitchen my helper is a young man 6' 6" tall and 220 lbs.

At the beginning of this year I weighed 210 and was a 1X with a size 18 bum. If I still had breasts I'd be a 2X on top; in fact I often bought a 2X just so it wouldn't be clingy. I don't normally care what size an item is, I want it to fit. I'd rather be in a loser size than be worrying about fat-rolls. Now I'm a 14 bum and don't care if it gets smaller as I do have a cute bum and I know it! hehehhehee It's the top that drives me crazy!! With my broad shoulders if there is no give in the fabric I have to use an XL!!!! I can get away with a medium if there is stretch and the fabric lies nicely on my flat chest. I have NO problem with appearing dead flat and that has helped me look smaller. I still don't know what I weigh, but I bet I'm still around the 190+ mark. I have a LOT of muscles in my legs....sigh. I can't "suck in" my stomach anymore. It seems to be at it's "suckest" if you know what I mean. (or else I've lost MY suck! hehehehehehehe)

Marlegal, I can relate to the size issue!! When I got married to my DH 17 1/2 years ago, they brought me in an 18W. I said "What's the W for...WIDE??" They told me it mean "woman"....riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight......like they have wedding dresses in MENs sizes!!!!

Yep, the winds died down so we got minimal damage. Only one death so far in Canada, but I've heard there was 39 in the US...so sad!

Hey there coonie, long time no see ya.  Glad to see you back again.  This was one crazy BIG storm, it has affected a lot of the northeast part of the US with everything from high winds, flooding, strom surges, power outages along the northeastern states to snow storms in the mountains from NC to north and west toward Canada!

chubba - love the double rainbow.  A good reminder after the storm.

Off to bed, night all.  AJ

COONIE!!!  Hello it's so good to see ya!  Glad you popped in to see us!!!  Come back MUCH sooner!

Hi Beachies!  The eye of Sandy went right over us!  We are all OK.  We kept our power thankfully.  My Son & his Wife lost there power for a 1/2 day & they only live 20 minutes up the road.  I'm worried about Marlegal???  Has anyone heard anything from her?  Many are without power in Jersy.  A school mate lives on one of those barrier islands in N.J. that got hit real hard.  She evacuated as she is just weeks away from having a baby.  Her house is still there but much is distructed around her!  So many effected!  I think we have a beachy that lives in the NYC area!  I hope everyone is OK!

Barbe I'm glad your OK....This storm was so far reaching!!!

    Nighty Nite ALL!!!  Stay Safe!

We have had rain and high winds since the storm passed and today woke up to snow as a result of the tail end of Sandy. It won't last long but it is a shock to open the curtains and see white stuff falling!!! This should be it for this storm as they warned us that the final straw would be snow. Now be gone!!!
