Bonnie - so glad it's not a hernia, ... but what is it?
Sueper - congrats on being officially a woman of leisure! You have earned some carefree days! Sorry your new life had to be marred early by the death of your cousin, to whom your were apparently very close. I have had two childhood friends commit death by alcohol both in their late 30s. You can't help seeing those lovely, loving 12yr-olds.
Barbe - yippeee! Offerings to the cash-gods!
Kathleen - what possessed the buzzy-bat to go on walkabout? Excellent that she's home!
I had a meltdown today. Blasted brain. It's always been my friend before. It's over now. The meltdown. Not the whole relationship!

Hi Lisa.0

I'm down right feeling downright sorry for myself tonight. Called my friend to talk it over & she's visiting with her son who will soon be shipping off on deployment. 11 days & counting until my bil mast! Hoping for a good nights sleep. Can't remember the last time I slept good. The only good thing about not being able to sleep, DH & I had a good talk last night. I guess there is a good side after all

My heart aches for you Deb. It seems like yesterday I was sitting on this site crying because in a couple of days I was heading for bi-lat. Since then I have had my exchange and still I feel sad many night. Just pray and enjoy as many moments of happiness as you can find.

LISA: He was an outdoor cat when I got him. But we had a long conversation about what it meant to be my cat -- that is, once "in" no "out." I thought he understood but apparently not!
He's gotten out a couple times but usually goes under the deck to eat grass. I don't know what possessed him this time - well, his walks on the wild side are over. I now hold him when I let our dogs out and in. You just never know what a cat is thinking! Thanks for asking.

Well that SUXS!!!! My insurance company just sent me a letter that they deferred (denied) my PET scan for this week. WTF! I will call them on Monday to see what I can do.
I hate these type of things. This would be my first scan since October.

Good evening all!
Here's just a groan - tomorrow I have an appt with my pcp to address 2 problems:
1. stiff neck with pain since december/january
2. issue with my liver area - there is a pressure/pain that started within the past 2 weeks and part of my bottom rib in the same area feels like it's "loose" - I can feel it sorta crack/move when I feel around on it
Please send prayers my way - my 2 year anniversary is near and I'm sorta freaking out here. These may not have any thing to do with bc but well you know the feeling.
Love to all,
Trish

Good evening ladies...looks life for the most part the suckiness was kind to us this weekend...
EWB...I hope you are feeling better!
Deb...HUGS...I remember the feeling and the anticipation was just terrible...here's hoping you are finding ways to relax
KMC...glad the kitty made it home! I had a stray left behind by a girl I had taken in and had to have the same talk with him - a couple of times! Eventually he got it and lived out his days happy to be an inside cat (as happy as he could be anyway).
Lisa - sorry about the melt down, they suck, but they are a necessary evil. I hope your better!
Pinky, lovin, mz, barbe, traci, stella, nicki, sue, nancy, (Rock -peek a boo) and anyone else I missed...(((((((((HUGS))))))))))
No crappiness for me this weekend...the stomach is infinately better, I have just been "blah" all weekend..yesterday I couldn't even bring myself to eat...just so not into anything...but I don't have children and my dp took care of the house and the four legged kids so I just slugged around all weekend. I did manage to pay bills but hell - that's not gonna cheer me up!
I'm off to watch extreme home makeover..I love that show - seeing people desperately in need get a dream home makes me happy.
Night all...

Hi, all you wonderful women. Kathleen, I'm glad the kitty was found. Barbe, I'm glad you got that check. Lisa, meltdowns seem to go with this freaking diagnosis, don't they? Navy, glad you feel better. Deb, sweetie, we are all pulling for you; the anticipation is almost worse than the actual event. I was an utter danger on the roads in the days leading up to my surgery, so I just gave it up and stopped work sooner so I wouldn't be driving around. Hang in there as best you can.
Hugs to everyone whose suckage I missed.
Smallish IOS: remember that I had my nice, negative 6-month mamm 4 weeks ago? Well, I got one of those letters that make you want to spit nickels from the radiologist at the mamm center saying that indeed there was a spot he was "concerned" about and would want to keep a close eye on, but only recommended that I get another mamm in 6 months. Grrrrrrrr. Now, you may recall that my BS and I were sort of annoyed with each other, because she wanted me to drive all the way up to the big city to get the mamm so her radiologists could read it, and I didn't want to drive that far because I was recovering from a concussion. So, I got the mamm down here and brought her the originals so she could show them to her radiologists and never heard back from her, so I assumed everything was okay. So, now, I'm going to have to call her or the radiology dept. up there and see what they thought about this spot that my local guy mentioned. I'm telling myself that it was probably just this lump of scar tissue right under my nipple that feels like a frozen stringbean and has been there since surgery. But you all know how this is -- you can't help but be twice as concerned when a doctor says he's 'concerned.'
Double GRRRRRRR!

Gentle evening HUGS for all. Sorry for the pain, "concerned" mammo, and any other suckiness going on. I had lunch with my son ( In Arlington, bonnie !!! ) - Irish pub with fantastic reuben sandwich and side of mac and cheese. The metro was so crowded that you did not have to hold on. Kind of like a body sandwich. Good thing the air cond was on...

Thanks, ladies. And just to put the icing on the flipping cake, I called my BS's office today, to see if she'd gotten a report back from her radiologists in the big city. So, I got her assistant, who is a peach, thank god, and she told me my BS is on vacation this week, but the assistant found out that the city radiologists sent their report to the wrong place. So, she was able to look it up on her computer and she read it to me, and it said that the city guys were concerned, too, and identified an area of "residual calcifications" and recommended further diagnostic imaging soon. She's going to have my BS call me no later than next Monday when she's back & possibly sooner.
Good thing I check my freaking mail every now and then so that I read that stinking letter from the local radiologists.
In case you haven't noticed, I'm trying not to haul off and swear. A LOT. But many, many colorful 4-letter words are running through my head. I've decided I need some big-time chocolate, so after I finish this post, I'm going to feed my dog and go out and get some really sinful, disgusting, mega-calorie desserts and bring them over to my girlfriend's house so we can sit down and pig out and swear up a storm.
If I have more calcifications, girls, that's IT. The stinking, treacherous boob can come off altogether. I'm not gonna keep going through this.
I'll keep you posted.
THIS LOUSY DISEASE SUCKS!!!!!!

I'm definitely feeling better today -- just way tired. Haven't been sleeping well. I had an MRI yesterday morning 8:00 a.m., a little over an hours drive to get there. Got up an hour early because my alarm clock automatically went back an hour (think they must have changed weekends for the time change), so instead of getting up at 6:00 a.m. I was up at 5:00 a.m. Went to start the car & the battery was completely DEAD! DS didn't think to shut the headlights off the night before. DH got it started for me & then I noticed the low gas light was on. DS drove it all weekend & never thought to tell me that it needed gas. But I wasn't late & the gals at the MRI dept. were very nice -- something had to go my way!

Smack that man. Leaving the lights on and not refilling the tank. I feel like getting a shovel.

Oh, KAK - SH*T. Between delicious bites of sinfully rich dessert, scream the rottenest words you can muster! Maybe even the "c" word. Then, hug yourself for me.

Kathi - Lordy, girl - you desperately got a need for some deep, dark, rich, high-butter cream content/high-cacao content CHOCOLATE Let us know when you do!
Deb - The girls at the MRI being nice was a gift - to your sanity! What a morning you had!

Hi, girls. Of course, I'm not sleeping now. Trying not to think about "residual calcifications," but it's hard not to.
However, on a more caloric note, there's a restaurant near my girlfriend's house that has amazing desserts. So, I got her a piece of pecan pie (her request), got her husband a slice of chocolate mousse cake (you should see this stuff!!), and got myself my own little (but not too little) individual chocolate cream pie. I love pie. I love chocolate. The first pie I ever made was a chocolate cream pie. Match made in heaven. My girlfriend did lots of swearing with me, and the three of us talked about food, which is always a favorite topic. Very therapeutic, all in all.
Tomorrow I go up to the big city to the center that mistakenly received the mamm report from the big city radiologists. I have to give them an authorization form anyway to send my records to this new medical oncologist I want to go see. So, I'll get a copy of the mamm report to see what context this lovely phrase "residual calcifications" was used in. SH*T is right, Susan!!
Hugs to all. Night, night.

well hells bells what happened? When it rains it pours here!
KAK...bless you for curtailing your words, I wouldn't be able to! Dessert it is! I'm late, but I'm willing to do my part with a nice cup of coffee this morning I hope it is only scar tissue and I have to day, I'd totally understand divorcing that boob if I was you. It's such a stressful thing to go through all the time! Hugs girlfriend, I hope you slept some! I'm very - very glad you had such a good vent session with your friend and her husband...
Deb...that was a gift! It's always nice when someone can turn your day around like that...kids, what are you gonna do with them. I'm afraid I left my mom's gas tank on empty once or twice myself...eventually I learned - he will too!
OH My...I just realized I didn't finish reading...I'm such a doofus. It's a good thing I got my blonde hair back -albeit I got it back at Hair Cuttery, but at least it matches my ditziness now

Renee - YOU are too funny! That cracked me up!!
Stella....HI THERE! How's Nicki? How areyou? Thanks for popping in...know that we are all thinking of you guys and wishing nothing but good things to come of this! We love Nicki, and we welcome you into the fold!
Ok guys, I have to work now...I'm still working from home. I could get used to working in my pj's until noon, having my dogs snuggled up next to me on the couch, talks shows playing in the background...really, I could go into the office once a month just to print out and file my work Sounds good to me!
Oh, I almost forgot my SOI.......I got on the scale this morning and I have passed the 15lbs lost mark!!! YIPPEE....OMG it's so good to be going down. Trust me, I have no hang ups about big or small, it was just the effort it was taking to carry it all around!
Have a GREAT day everyone!

Hey FYI you guys...I happened to catch a piece on medical billing error on GMA just now...80% of all hospital bills contain errors...thing like meds charged, not given. Double, triple and quadruple line items entered instead of a single line item charge, over billing for things like surgical bra's etc...just wanted to give a heads up for those of you who have to watch this stuff. I have a HMO so I don't get my bills in line item form normally. Only my chemo is broken out like that. So, if my insurance is getting overcharged I wouldn't even know it. Seems whacky to me, but I digress...check your bills!
Speaking of which...where is Diane? Last I heard she was battling with some bills herself!

Oh, Bonnie - dawgs on your lap, pj's until all hours - bout the only reason to go into the office is to show off your newly svelte self! Glad you found what's working for you!
meanwhile up since 3am, I might as well stay up ...
