Nancy- I LOVE taking myself out to eat. Usually have whatever wonderful book I'm reading with me and enjoy the evening enormously.  Wish we were closer so we could share meals and company.

TY ewb, I would meet you for coffee, a meal, a walk around town or an old fashioned gab fest.  Do you play scrabble or Upwords?   Hmmm,  now how long a drive is it to NJ???   LOL.  Thanks for the smile.

Count me in, EWB & Nancy.  I also like to take myself out to a meal with a good book.  Yesterday morning, I took myself out for pancakes (had a hankering for them) & a mystery!

OOOOOOOh that is so sad.  I have so many around me that I never eat alone.  Whats it like?  Do you want me to send someone... how about a daughter... or even a husband who cooks?

Re tattoos -- I got one on my "good" shoulder blade during radiation.  A gorgeous cat that I designed.  After all the crap, I wanted a treat just for me.  I have a little polynesian turtle on my ankle -- that one means a lot to me.  I love Hawaii and when I was diving there I got to see a lot of turtles -- they're not the prettiest beasts, but they are so serene in the water.  I could relate to that so I got the tat.

My youngest daughter has a pink ribbon on her right shoulder with "Mum" in it.  She has a tramp stamp that appears to be still in process.  Seems she needs more stars so it equals the day she was born (the 16th).

I actually enjoy taking myself out to eat, especially lunch (or brunch), settle into a corner table, read, people watch, enjoy the food. Diners are the best. Sometimes its nice not having to talk and be socialable. My dh would eat out every meal for the rest of his life Tongue out Depends on where you are in Va, We are about 5 1/2 hours from Annandale, Va. Play scrabble (although its been a while), Apple to Apple..never heard of Upword. Barbe what is a DS-lite?

Not the intended meaning, I was having rough day and couldn't keep up with reading all the posts. I do not "compete" regarding these things -- ever.

    WhaSux?

I have missed much! Some righteous posts here & I salute those of you who have had sh*theel medical staff, slides down the rocks, Pollyanna aversions, meals alone or not having meals alone and any other IOS I have missed (yes-IOS is the Bad post & SOI is the goodie)

I am sick of steroids!!!  I am becoming psychotic & I need to get back on a normal sleep schedule! The rads to the lower spine also hit the bowel & currently I am a direct conduit to Hell spewing noxious sulfur fumes into our world! It sorta sux to be me right now--how's that for an inverse to my normal Pollyanna outlook?

    Be well & stay strong

I threw out 11 more of my favorite tops this morning, some that were new just last summer.  Can't wear them anymore.

    KAK -

The relationship was strained, marginal.  It said it wasn't dedicated to anyone.  What a commitment-phobe.  At a loss for words, it needed a spell check.

I was glad to end that chapter of my life.

Pollyanna was a little girl.  That's why she was like that.  She hadn't gotten her period yet. (Inside joke there.)

I'm sorry to hear about your pains saint.  They SUCK.  The worst of the chemo was 4th day, cycle 2 - lying on the bathroom floor for four-five hours.  Couldn't get up, cramping, queasy, dizzy.  Just like tax season.  (Bad humor there.)  The nice, cold, clean floor was comforting.  Couldn'' make it back to bed, no way!  Rads.  My mother did rads.  She was a strong person.  That was when they overdosed you until they killed you and the cancer.  Please balk at those steroids and ask some "why?" questions.  It's almost like the oncos have purchased shared of "Steroidcity" on Wall Street.  Tired?  Take more steroids.  Nausea?  Take more steroids.  Headache?  Diarrhea?  Take more steroids.  Before your next meal ... take more steroids.  What is this?

I once met a doctor who had to retire after chemo.  She said if she had known what it would have done to her, she wouldn't have done it - in retrospect.  I was floored.  I still am.

We all take our chances, risks, gambles, and we fight the best we can.

Yes my husband cooks and he has a flair for it.  It started innocently enough.  I burnt the first two meals I made to impress him.  After that he cooked to impress me.  He does a wonderful pot roast and gets everyone in the door for some.  He cooks the entire Christmas meal including cookies (Short bread - his grandmother's recipe... and chocolate chip).  We do buy the pie.

OMG -- I wish I had someone to cook for me!  I can't cook or don't want to. I guess not having kids I never had to learn, and it's a pain to do a regular meat, potatoes and veggies for one.  It's been months since I've had a good home-cooked meal.  Oh, pot roast, gravy..... I'm salivating...
