ECT my hair looks just like in your pic right now. I finished chemo in August. I'm getting a lot of advice to keep it short. They like it!0

I get that too shellyj, - advice to keep it short. But I don't think that short of a style works for me. And there isn't enough length to highlight it yet. If I stay short --- I at least want Sunny's length in her Dec pic. Nice! I finished Chemo July 28th, then finished rads Oct 28th - so yea we're pretty much on the same time table. You taking Tamoxifen?

Is there any recommendation on when we can start coloring our hair again??
0 -
As per my onc 6 months for coloring without bleach and one year for bleaching. I believe everybody is going sooner.
I am not sure about henna.

Yeah, I don't think I will be waiting that long. I have always noticed that my hair was grayer in one particular spot. Now that it is growing out fresh, I can clearly see that is the case. I have a white spot in the middle of all the dark that is growing back in. Thank God for hair color for the last 10 years.

LadyinBama~ Yes, my hair was slow coming in on top too like Didel. I got scared but it did come in fine eventually. I am 6 mos. PFC and have about 2" all over.

I think Henna would be safe to use almost at any time. It is natural but extremely messy. But, there's not as much hair you would be putting it on, so it'll be easier to get it out without having to really rinse hard. I wondered the same thing, since I am a user of henna. Everything I know about henna suggests it would be very good for the hair. It thickens it up as it adds color too... strengthens it at the same time... but it does have a drying effect as well. It's funny, because it's a really good conditioning agent, but can be drying if used too often. Maybe someone else here has used henna and can shed some more light on the subject.

ECT - Hi - no, I got put on anastrazole (arimidex) which I was excited about, since the results are so good, but now I'm reading that others had to wait for 2 years with no period before going on it if they were premenopausal at diagnosis. I'm glad I'm on it and my labs say I'm in menopause (due to chemo) so we'll see how it goes I guess. With the number of hot flashes I'm having, I think it will be ok for awhile! I'm gonna take a picture of my hair tonight and post it.0

I would love to put henna. I an naturally ash blond but always liked dark and red color. One year before my diagnoses I started coloring my hair dark brown (got mixed response) but my wig is mix of three tones of red and some brown. Even my husband liked it. I know for sure I am not going back to blond as my hair is growing back darker.

Thanks all for the input and reassurance. Patience is not my strong suit!

Okay, want to hear something funny? My hair "down there" did not respond to Bikini Bare. I was cleaning out under my bathroom cabinets and due to the fact that my oopherectomy is on Friday I thought I'd "clean up" down there. This is the first time ever that not one hair came out!!!! Haha, it's here to stay. It makes me feel healthy and vibrant :-)))) Just had to tell someone! ~ Daiva

WOW Shelly, that looks great. Have you had a hair cut?

Sorry about the antics getting that posted. Finally figured out how to resize it. Thanks, Maureen, not a real hair cut, no. A friend trimmed a little over my ears a couple of weeks ago because it was fuzzy and sticking out. I would like a little more bangs, then I will be happy.

Nicola, you have nice even coverage, it certainly went dark, didn't it? Looks good, and your sons is a cutie.
Shelley, I'm doing great. And you're right, I have a head full. I am really liking the short look, I think that I will be keeping it, I have been getting lots of compliments and it's so easy. I posted some pics a few pages back, but they weren't great, I took them with my webcam. I will ask my DH or DD to take a better one, and will post it.
Have a good day all.

Shelley: Great hair color, I'm jealous. And you have the most beautiful eyes. Like DiDel, one of the first things I noticed is you have eyebrows. Isn't it weird the things we notice on people now? I never used to look at eyebrows (unless somebody had something funky like a unibrow).
Nik: I am bald as a billard ball on top still, but only one month out. You have great coverage.

Wow, thanks for all the pictures ladies... Shelley, I am just a couple weeks less than you so hoping mine looks like yours by the end of this month. Confess... is that the color it came back or did you do a little enhancement? I love the color, especially with those gorgeous blue eyes. Right now, my coverage and color resembles Nikola's so much and she is only 15 weeks. I used to be blonde also. Oh well, we can always fix that!0

Wow, great hair pictures, everyone! I didn't know I couldn't bleach my hair so I started doing this about 3 months post chemo. Chemo hair doesn't dye well, so this is partly the reason for waiting 6 months. Only the natural henna is good, so be sure to read ingredients first! Many hennas can be poisonous, so be careful! Also, because chemo hair is so dry, the henna may make it worse. I used organic hair dye from Whole foods the first few dyes and now I have switched to Ion products by Sally's.

Xraygirl: The creams for removing hair have never worked on me! Great to hear your hair is finally here to stay!

Shelly & Nikola, you both look amazing, love all the hair! Can't wait for mine to start coming in more, so far I have a nice even covering about 1/8" long.

Great pictures of hair growth. What an inspiration. I have hair or something that might be hair coming in. I'm on Tx #4 of 12 Taxol. Eyebrows and lashes are minimal but can make it work with pencils and mascara. Hoping the hair is here to stay because I'm going wigless to son's graduation even if I look like a lego (LOL)!!!

MBJ: Give me some names of the hennas you used. I'm a long time user of Light Mountain.0
