Karen is your scalp covered?  I am taking bioten and using bioten shampoo.  At least it is growing I guess, just impatient!

Kim:  My scalp is covered, but unfortunately, I have a few eyebrows left.  They vacated my face just this weekend.  Ugh!

My hair has grown back since 2007, and it's still-ever-changing.  I had straight hair before chemo (like most of you) and it grew back in soft and curly (and yes, grey, lol....COLORRRRR!!  HEY, I'm still young~~~53 years old!)....the hair changed in texture 1/2 dozen times since, I needed a perm at one point 2 years ago, and it's STILL curly.  Just wash and scrunch (and COLORRRRR~!).   Years later hair can still keep changing.  Amazing.

All you ladies look quite wonderful~!    :)   ~juli

WaveWhisper - I have the faux-hawk too.  I have learned to embrace it and hope that it won't last forever.  I dyed mine also, it was coming in with a huge patch of grey on top...kind of skunk-like!  I felt better so you do whatever makes YOU feel good...the hell with what others say.  I also had alot of people tell me to leave the grey but I am only 45 so it had to go!

Boy what a difference 4 weeks makes - here's 13.5 weeks vs. 17.5 weeks.  It seems to have really taken off and I actually got it cut in between

It has occured to me that the character, Samantha,  in Sex and the City did not get chemo curl!

I feel like I did in 1989 when I got a really bad perm.

I would love to see AEM's pictures.  I am at about 13 weeks and am hoping for a lot of growth in the next month!  I am setting myself a goal of going topless with a short chic, non "this woman just had chemo" kind of look by mid-October.  Is this realistic?

I am so happy I have finally got the chemo curl to calm down and can use my flat iron to straighten it.  My hair is almost back to pre chemo days!  It will happen ladies just be patient!

No chemo curl, just straight white sparcely populated skull, 8 weeks out.  I am happy to announce that my eyebrows came back, over night, practically!

I am 16 weeks out of chemo and I just dyed my hair  maybe to soon but I don't care to much gray then what I had before I lost it and at a young 44 I just went for it. It looks great and I am also going to start going topless maybe to soon for this too but I can't take stuff on my head any longer going for it tomorrow.

Yes I did color it - I used Loreal temp color 4G - I started with 4AR and I left it in there the first time for about 30- minutes to cover the gray.  It's only a 10 minute color job normally.  Now I just touch the sides up with a little brush when the gray shows thru and touch up any time it starts to fade.  The natural color is coming in alittle lighter..maybe a chestnut brown.  Little by little, I'll let the normal color come thru, by just going down the color scale, but while it's this short, the darker I think looks better.  In the sun it has some red highlites.

I am only 9 weeks PFC so I guess it makes sense that I only have about a quarter inch max all over, dar with so white, lotta fuzz and longer stubble stuff. It sort of covers my scalp, but looks kind of bad to me. The few times pre BC that I used level 2 hair dye ( Loreal,Natural Instinct, etc) it irritated by scalp a fair amount so I'm not sure what to do.Sigh.

AEM, hair looking good, but your eyes! They are just beautiful and probably stand out more with the short hair.

Hi All! I'm 6 weeks PFC today, and here is that funny fuzz all over my head... Darker around my ears so it looks alot like I'm still bald on top...I'm taking such comfort an inspiration from your pictures and updates!! Thankyou!

AEM: did you never lose your brows, or have they grown back that well?

Have a great hairy day. Ladies.

KCB - lost EVERYTHING..lol !!!  eyebrows and lashes were definitely the hardest cause my eyelashes were only about 3/4 of the way in on the 13.5 week picture.  I used to have to cut the corners they were so long normally.  They are back all the way on the 17.5 week one..the brows were in probably around 8 weeks.  I did bump up the Biotin to 5000 mcg 2xs a day - it's water soluable so I figured it couldn't hurt.  I really think it took off tremendously after that little trim up that I had...as hard as that was Smile

AEM, you look great!! Love the color!

I thought I'd share the pic I took yesterday at 11 weeks PFC. I, too, am on Herceptin. I'm not sure if that's really slowing the growth down or not. Hard to tell. I'm using Nioxin shampoo, and after seeing AEM's pics, I think I'll start taking Biotin again (I kept forgetting to take it so I stopped it)!
