Kimmer, Octo, Leigh - You all look fantastic.

Shopgirl -- I am so sorry that you had to encounter such negativity. What a bit**!!

I've always loved short pixie cuts, but now I see super short hair as a sign of strength and victory. There is a special beauty in these heads.

You all are way braver than I am! I had to bow out of presenting at one of my favorite industry conferences last fall because it was the week after my last chemo infusion. (Not enough immunity or energy to travel across three time zones.) I am now wondering if I'll be able to go without a wig and feel good about it in November.

OK, I want to color my hair. I am fine with it short, but not quite ready for puré white.

What did you use? Salon or at home? Anyone know if white and baby fine absorbs color like it used to?

Hooray Octogirl you did it!!!! Octo, Kimmer, Vicki, and Leigh you all look absolutely gorgeous. I love me some Robin Roberts! Hair has been my inspiration. Thanks for the compliments everyone :)

Shopgal I've had a few people say some insensitive things but that girl takes the cake. I'm a firm believer of karma. What goes around comes around and she'll be on the receiving end of a insensitive comment. Don't let that one comment set the tone of your hair journey. Focus on all of the positive, loving and supportive comments you have received here and everywhere else. I don't know how you personally feel about the pink ribbons, but my badge holder has a pink ribbon on it and it helps me feel a little bit more confident about the "why" behind my hair even if others aren't thinking it. I also had a "one liner" ready for comments about my hair. My favorite that I've used: My oncologist gave me this lovely hairdoo. Stay confident about next week and keep holding your head up!

I love all of the pictures. You ladies look fabulous!

As for the mean woman: imagine what her life must be like, for her to say something like that. She's very likely terrified and miserable... I feel bad for folks who act that way. Shopgal, you handled it perfectly: with grace and class. Let that person learn from you.

Shopgirl - You are the bigger, classier, smarter person. What a miserable heart she must have. Boo hiss.

Thanks for everyone for posting your pictures. At 6 weeks PFC with not a hint of hair returning anywhere, it's inspirational for me. Saw this on Twitter today and thought of all of us!

One Bad, Octogirl, Kimmer, Vicki, and Leigh - OMG you guys all look so good and rock the short hair style. I am 16 weeks PFC this week and I can't quite give up the hats and scarfs yet. I don't have any bald spots just pretty thin around my forehead. Maybe another 3 or 4 weeks I might give it a try.

Shopgal I am so sorry someone would respond like that. Your hair is just part of your strength getting through all of this. Shame on them for being so inconsiderate. Your hair looks great.

Minnesota Lisa - Love the picture this is a prefect place to give everyone inspiration. Be patient mine start to come in around 8 weeks PFC.

Peachy2 - I am so with you on the toe hair. I was hoping that was one area that did not come back. That and the peach fuzz all around my face.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week.

Shopgal, just getting caught up from the last few days of not being on here and fuming about the mean girl comment. Just don't get rude people.

Octogirl, yay for you on going without the hat, can't wait til I'm there with all of you brave, wonderful women!

Going on four weeks tomorrow and still have my baby bird hairs.

Hello everyone! I've been MIA and there's no way I can catch up with it all so just starting from here. I am now 15 weeks PFC and here's my cute little pixie but please forgive my ineptness at selfies, I have extremely short arms ;)

justmaximom: your pics are just darling! I am eleven weeks PFC and, of course, have much less hair than you. Mine seems to be coming in at just about the same color as yours. Quite a change from my usual reddish brown hair, with a bit of grey at the sides. I have never colored my hair and if it stays grey, then so be it. I don't want to start coloring now. Today was the first day of not wearing my hat at work. Thought I would test it out with my fellow coworkers and everyone was so supportive. It sure feels great not wearing a head covering and so much cooler. While the hair on my head is slow to come in, the hair everywhere that it shouldn't be is growing in at an amazing rate of speed...LOL!

Thanks biscuits. The lighting here in the office is really bad, at home in front of the mirror and outside I see much lighter hair and much less grey but like you, I've decided not to color it - at least for a while. Btw, you will be amazed at how fast yours will start growing now!

Popping back by this thread to envy others' growth; three weeks from tomorrow will be my last TC so I can start the clock. Everyone looks so good!! We're all so hard on ourselves but when yall post pics I see gorgeous eyes, great bone structure, pretty happy smiles, etc. Fortunately most folks are not like Shopgal's miserable insecure petty rude whatever she is (coworker?) and don't get hung up on hair or lack thereof.

Paxton, good to see you and glad you're almost done! We will soon welcome you to the pfc club.

Watching the Republican debate, and thinking we all have better hair than Donald Trump. Though mine looks an awful lot like John Kasich's about now!

I have this kind of horrid fascination with Trump's hair! Because he has a great deal more than I do....

Hi ladies! I haven't been here in forever, but just wanted to give some encouragement to you all.

You are beautiful, hair or no, and it will grow back in some form. It may be slow at first, or thin, or a different texture and color, but it will come back. Mine started growing back in earnest in November of 2013 (I ended chemo in Aug 2013), and it grows like a weed now. I had board straight hair previously, and though it is a little thinner now, it is very curly, and longer than it has been in years (and also about 3 shades darker, which is odd.) I take a low dose biotin every day, and have since I was out of treatment. I think it has helped. That and really keeping up with my water intake. I just started coloring my hair again, and it is doing well, though the ends are dry (still probably has chemo chemicals in it) but overall it is healthy.

This is me with some friends before:

    image

and this is the same group this past December after I started lightening it again:

    image

You can see how crazy curly it is, and I for one am loving it. I always wanted curls, and never could get a perm to stick! Happy

Don't get discouraged, and remember that you are more than your hair. You are a vibrant and resilient being with so much to offer the world.

Looking good MySunshine ! I'm still waiting for the first signs on new hair on my scalp. I do wish it would hurry since it's been so hot that I'm ready to ditch the hats.
