Hey Jane you do not have permission to use my image. LOL You are sooo funny thanks for the laugh.

I have no real progress this week. I remember last week thinking that this week would be my turn around week. Well nothing but the real soft white hair on certain places on the bald head. Next week will be week 9 PFC. Oh come on already. It soo depressing. That and being really tired and unmotivated just fat and ugly. I will walk tomorrow morning and see if that helps. It will be cold and raining just like my mood. June Gloom. Bald Bold.

Thanks all! I am not sure I am ready to go topless yet..... Deb: I have been using Nioxin System 2 plus the follicle booster. I am almost out of the follicle booster! Expensive stuff! Also, I have been taking biotin. Who knows if any of this is working....

I have a business trip in July so I am hoping to go topless then. In about 4 weeks I think I will color it! Can't wait!

Blake, you have SO much hair at just 6 wks PFC!!!!  Jealous city!!!

So, finishing out 8 weeks PFC, seeing a little more hair coming in, don't know if it's just growth that was starting or if the follicle booster / biotin is starting to work.  Definitely starting to get some sideburn hair, which is nice.  Just put more Prizms on it all, plus on the eyebrows, to give them a little oomph.  I'd really like to put haircolor on the brows, but it seems a waste to mix up the color just for those little spots.

Okay . . . the $64,000 question . . . to shave or not shave the duck fuzz?  I know some are pro-shave, it makes the hair coming in look more consistent, some are don't touch a thing on my head, what's there is there and it's staying.  Does the duck fuzz turn into anything or will it fall out like baby hair does when their real hair comes in?  I'm trying to slick it down, some of it stays and some of it doesn't.  Still look more like the ostritch.  I'm going to post a photo when I get my hands on my husband's camera.

Lisa1964 - how is that new shampoo/conditioner working out?  Did you get the gel too or just the two products?  See anything yet (I know it's only been a week, but we're all impatient here!!).

Chelev I didn't shave the duck fuzz, just left it go, it's now regular hair.....I've got alot on the back and some on the sides with length, but the top, GRRRR looks like an old mans haircut...a flat top...I keep complaining to the hubby, he keeps telling me it will grow back and to have patience, guess it's easy for him to say he has a headful!

    Blake - you look awesome!

My hair has now decided it will go wherever it darn well pleases!  I can't even slick it down with spit in some places!  We'll see where it goes from here.

hi ladies. not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but i'll give it a shot.   i have developed a rash on my bald head which, from reading some posts, is apparently folliculitis.  i called my onc and got a rx for a clindamycin lotion, to be applied twice/day.  i began applying on wednesday, and today the rash seems worse and itchier.  anyone have experience with this problem, who might give me an idea about how long it takes the clindamycin to clear it up?  when she prescribed it, the PA told me it usually clears up quickly, so i wasn't expecting any worsening.  if i am posting in the wrong spot, please redirect me.  thanks so much for your shared wisdom!

roachrp  - I had a bad case of folliculitis - it took about 1 1/2 weeks for the foam to start working, but I was also on an antibiotic 2x daily to help because it was such a bad infection.  Clean your head with some hydrogen peroxide with a cotton swab, let it dry and then use the foam, twice a day.  If you are wearing wigs, try to put something between the skin and the wig to help with irritation.  I still have some red marks from where I had it, the dermatologist told me they would fade over time.  If after the weekend it doesn't seem like it is truly getting better, you might need an oral antibiotic too.  Hope that helps!!  Feel better!

thanks so much, chelev!  a couple questions?  does the foam work better than the lotion?  and which antibiotic did you take orally, if you remember?  did anyone take samples from your scalp to examine or culture?  did you do anything for the itch?

i only wear my wig if i have to go out somewhere.  i try to keep my head uncovered at home.  if i do put a scarf or headcover on, my head gets hot and sweats and i think that might make it worse.

thanks so much for sharing.  it really helps to hear from someone who has gone through it.  wishing you all the best!

Blake - I cannot beleive how long your hair is!!!!  It actually has a flip in the back!  I have been avoiding biotin because toward the end of chemo I had too much B-12 in my system.  Forget all that, I am getting some biotin TODAY!

Chelev, I have seen a spurt in growth of the hairs that never came out.  I can tell them apart because they are a different texture and they do the "ostrich standup" of the new soft hair.  Don't know if that is from the new products or just co-incidence.

Hmmm . . . . keep me posted, because if it does what they say it will, then I'm ordering some too!!

    Hi Ladies,

I just thought I would share my experience with you.  My last chemo was on February 11th (TCH) and I am currently on Herceptin every three weeks.  My hair is fully grown in on the sides and back and the top is finally filled in, but it took a long time.  You can still see my scalp  a tiny bit, but it's not bald all all.  It is around 1 inch long, but once the hairdresser shaved my neck and evened out the sides, it looks a bit like Jamie Lee Curtis on those yogurt commercials.  I have had two trims at the salon.  My chemo was Taxotere/Carboplatin and so I never really lost all of my hair, but it was almost all out.

My hairdresser used Herbatint on my hair and the hair took very nicely to it.  I would recommend this product if you are trying to stay away from chemical hair color treatments.  She also used the Herbatint on my eyebrows....they are still very thin.  This helped a lot!  I have been using Nioxin cleanser and scalp treatment for about 1-1/2 weeks and I started by using the Step 1 treatments for thin to normal hair.  Since now my hair is colored (Herbatint) I have switched to Nioxin Step 3 which is for colored hair.  Step 3 does not affect the color.  It still looks fine.  I will pop in again and let you know how I progress.  I am hoping to see some progress in thickening up my top.

I hope that my experience will help some of you.  Good luck.

    Hi,

I have about 3/4 of a container of Nioxin scalp treatment #2 that I don't plan to use.  If anyone would like it, send me a PM and I'll mail it to you.  This is a product that you leave on your scalp all day and the smell gives me a headache -- lots of smells give me a headache, so I'm not saying it smells awful or anything like that.

    Take care everyone.

my2boys - You are so lucky.  I had my last TCH on Feb 9 (still on herceptin) and my hair is not even 1/4 inch.  It is very full all over, but no way could I get a trim.  I have the neckline cleaned up periodically, but that is it.  Sigh...................

Lisa, I'd go for full head coverage, even if it is short. Although I have always worn my hair short.

Anne - that's great progress!  I can't wait until I get to that stage - even though I've always worn shoulder length or longer, at this point, I will live for the rest of my life with the Jamie Lee Curtis style, just so I can get my scalp covered!!  When I look at the calendar, I realize I am being very impatient, it's not even two months, though 8 weeks sounds longer, from my last treatment, so I guess I'm sort of on schedule.  As Tom Petty sings, "the waiting is the hardest part . . . "

I'm with Cheryl I would go for full head coverage :)  and I have never had short hair until this year.  Now after saying that I have to say to Lisa's hair enough is enough you need to grow.

I go in 2 weeks to clean up my crazy hairs or as my DH said you mean hair.

Good morning. Well I have a little hair now lots of bald spots and still look like a light bulb.  But maybe things will start to happen. I think lisa and I have the same problem. Sure is hard to wait for growth. But everyday it has to be a little closer right?
