Lisamarie, why oh why do we allow ourselves to beat ourselves to death.  Lisamarie, you didn't do a bad thing .... you didn't commit murder, you didn't rob someone, you had a "cigarette".  Based on what is happening in your life, anyone would turn to something ... be it a smoke, a drink, or whatever.  Look at it as a "whatever" and don't look back.  And, for sure, you must look a lot younger .... as I said, we have found the "fountain of youth". I sure hope you received good news today and don't worry so much.  It's now good for us!

lisamarie - Congrats on getting your first fill but bummer on the pain.  Hopefully the pain meds will do the trick.  Just pick yourself up, brush off and get back on that no smoking wagon.  You can do this!!!!

Yay Lisamarie ... what a feeling, eh?  Glad to hear you got "good news" all around.  Don't worry about the pain ... it will only last a while.  Then you will be good as new and looking "fine".  Jo, I hope you are feeling better.  Ladies, give yourself a big pat of congratulations on your back!

Jo, my 4 week mark is today, and that last one is still hanging on, too. Yesterday's output was 48cc.  This morning, after 12 hours, it was 10, so things are looking up.  Here's to both of us getting rid of these STUPID drains ASAP.  It's getting hot outside and the drain hose sticking to my skin and...well, you know.  Everything about it sucks.  BIG time.

Fierro6 - My output this morning was 30cc for 9 hours.  If the other times I empty stay the same, I should be at 50ccs today. I empty 4 times a day. Hope you get yours out real soon.  It is already hot here and yes, the stupid drain hose does stick to my skin.  This does suck big time.

Oh Jo, I so sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather!  When will this crap every end, eh?I just want to say to remind yourself that you are "cancer free" and that may be worth the pain .... I know it doesn't count when you are going through this but in the end, it was what I remembered.  I didn't go what you are going through, but my thoughts, prayers and well wishes are with you!  Keep a positive spirit!

Jo: Did you ask the PS or nurse to tape up where your drain comes out of your body? After mine had been in a while, they were becoming loose. After they taped it up for me, close to my body where it wouldn't move, it felt much better. I had gone in there in such pain, that I was near tears. I told them they HAD to do something! We go through too much other crap to have to walk around in pain. I know it's aggravating. I had my last drain for 6 weeks. Hang in there.

LisaMarie: Just start over. Slipping and smoking is not the end unless you let it be. Keep fighting!!

Karen: September 1, 6 p.m. Schedule released today, this will be the first Auburn game. Come on September!!!

Lisamarie, stay strong!  I'm not familiar with your govenment services but is there not an agency you can turn to?  Is there a cancer centre that you can access to find someone who can assist you until this crap is over?

I am finally able to sit down and post.  Still have the drain - GR!!!  PS thinks Monday will be the day.  Not going to hold my breath. I am not at optimistic as he is but then again he knows what he is doing and I hope he proves me wrong.  I have already cancelled all the Memorial Day weekend plans I had.  Don't want to go if I still have the drain.  If it is not ready all I have to do is call and reschedule.

The pain is from the stitch pulling.  I can't have it taped to my body since I am very tape sensitive.  WIll have to figure out a way to keep it from moving.  Found out the large amount of overnight drainage is because I am lying down and the fluid is pooling and into the drain it goe.  So, I have decided to sleep in the recliner with my feet up and the back as straight as I can and still get some sleep.  At this point, I will do just about whatever I have to so I can get this stupid thing out.  It is 4 weeks today.

Can't see the bright side of this.  I do keep telling myself this is all going to be worth it in the end.  I really want to get on to the next step.  I have a bit of revision work left to do.

Dear Jo, so hoping the PS is right and Monday is the day that d*&n drain comes out.  I read another post of your's that said the output is lessening, that is such a good sign.  I can't imagine how much it hurts since you are unable to tape it, My mom always had trouble tolerating tape, wherever the tape was, no matter what kind, she would get an angry, painful rash.  Your PS has so much experience with this, he must be fairly certain if not Monday then very soon. Sending love and healing thoughts to a great woman, Karen

Karen, The output is even less this afternoon.  Yipee!!!!  Going back to emptying twice a day. I am shooting for Monday.  Tomorrow will tell me for sure if the levels continue to go down.  This has been so rough but very well worth it.  I have had a few slips but never thought about beating myself up over it.  I am surprised I did not completely fall off the wagon.  I just picked up my 'adult binky" more often and that was my saving grace.  You are the best - so glad I have you in my life.   Hugs & Kisses!!!!!!!

Great news Jo, the levels are finally dropping, that is such good news, I am thrilled for you, Monday may be THE DAY.  Thank god for the adult binkie!!!!!!!!!!!     MaddyMac, sooo glad to have you, if you did it once you can do it again and with this great group of women we will be here for you with all the support and encouragement you could ever need. are you going to use a nicotine replacement, Chantix or go cold turkry, we have ladies on this thread who have done it each way and will let you in on tips and tricks to use.  People will start dropping in to welcome you to our group and introduce themselves.  I was a thirty+ yr. smoker, at a pack to a pack and a half a day, who used cigarettes for stress, relaxation, who never ever thought I could quit, on the 16th, I celebrated 16 mos. as a non-smoker.  You can do it, we will help you.  Karen

Jo-I choose to join you instead of being jeaous.  (my output is up a bit today and I was pouty) but I think I'll just will it to stop.  Hey Jaxson!  STOP!

MaddyMac-I once quit for three years, and started again because I was at a party.  DUH is right!   At least those of us who have done that know that it's possible for us to stop.  :)

Welcome MaddyMac -  I was a 40 year smoker and on May 15th celebrated 10 months smoke free.  For me I used an e-cig and still do today.  I live with a smoker and also work with 2 smokers so I am around it all the time.

Fierro6 - I guess it did help to sleep more upright last night.  I was at 60 ccs yesterday and it looks like I will be at 45 ccs today.  I can just feel it - Monday is going to be the day.

Karen - Hope you are enjoying your day.
