What a great idea BCBK...I like the idea of kicking butt vs. fondling butt myself.

The logos look great Janet..Thanks for all your hard work.

Well.............It was Fifish's idea, one creative talent there. Will fill in the newbies later so they are not lost. Have to head out right now. I might make some final adjustments to make sure it is okay for busniess card and shirts.

    Thanks Cleo!

DeniseM808:  Welcome to this group.  I am also a newbie.

Cleomoon:  I agree with you on smoking being the #1 cause of recurrence...they blame everything on smoking.  My thinking if it was then the Onc would have told me to quit instead of continuing until I was done with treatment.  I do know for me there were other health issues besides the BC.  Anyway I am over what the Social Worker told me.  I was tired and wasn't a good time to lay that on me for sure.  Nap helped.

I agree it would be wonderful if we could all get together.  I think we would have our own city with all of us for sure.  Would be nice if they had someplace that we could meet for some much need R&R and someone else picked up the bill for us.  Gee on that note they could pick up our medical bills also.  Wonder if Donald Trump would step up...NOT!  Thats why he is rich and we are not I guess.

Back to the Onc Social Worker...she mentioned she would see me in 3 months after I see my Onc...NOT!  I think these folks don't get it, they can't learn about us out of a book..."Think before they speak".  Okay I am done with my soap box for the night.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Hi all!  Another LONG day with Dr. appointments all day...Echo - Good, Labs - Drawn, Bone Scan - Done...won't have results until next week.  Told my DH that they gave me a shot with Gamma radiation for the scan so  'don't make me angry'...just in case I go all Hulk on him :)

janiz: love the logos and the BCBK addition (thanks for the creative ideas flfish) - I like the color sample too with red and grey, too!

Denise: welcome to our crazy crew...

butterfly: I am sorry that your butt head boss did not recognize what an awesome person you are...his loss and another better employers gain...stay positive

pantafus: so happy to hear that you are home and the doc's were able to get the kinks worked out on your port.

Cleomoon:  I would love to run away to Canada with all of my BCBF BCBK friends...

Natalie: I asked my naturopath about the smoking & breast cancer and there is no hard core data to either support or deny the info that lady gave you...I hate it when people use scare tactics to impose their belief's...do they think it will help???!!!  You have made it thru dx and chemo....you can quit smoking too...

I am having a bit of a downer week and not feeling talkative...chemo starting in less to two weeks and just when I was staring to recovery from mx I go and have another surgery...stupid port!  I am tired and cranky and feeling sad...10 yr old daughter wrote me a letter asking if I was going to leave her...it just breaks my heart that she has to deal with this fear and I cannot guarantee anything... I told her that I don't plan on going anywhere soon and the reason why we are doing all these tests and procedures is so that I can be around when she gets married and to play with my grandchildren...CANCER SUCKS!!!

PS I am still not smoking...73 days!

Hi Nadine, funny how Dr's go, they are all not on the same page. Mine gave me a huge scare before my mast. I did cut down to 1 cig a day so it probably did me a lot of good even though I should of quit. I heard that the second time around for quitting cigs is even harder. I wish I never started again but actually happy because I would of never met all of you. I wish they had something for medical bills. I met a lady who had to move back to Israel because she couldn't afford it in the state anymore.

To get the newbies caught up with BCBF, Breast Cancer Butt Fondlers nd BCBK. Nervousknitter nick named our group long time ago and it has stuck. So what we are doing is building a website that will not replace this forum but to enhance it. Can go there for quit smoking tips, answer some questions we all have with smoking and surgeries and BC. We will have a profile with our quit days, etc, so we can shout out to those who have quit for awhile. And also help keep track of where we are at in our BC, post pictures or videos. We will have dead pics up to make us smile as they are silly, but we are calling them lay down pics so people don't freak on our crazy sense of humor we get at times going through all of this. So we are a fun crazy group that accepts all with no judgments that knows how to love and support one another and cheer each other up during our bad days. This site is a different quit smoking site as quitting with cancer is a different mindset so I see our group as a very special group.

O2bhealthy, sorry you are having a down time. I hate that!!! BC it so hard on everyone, my dad kept calling me once a week because it really freaked him out. I know it is much scarier for kids. I hope chemo will go okay for you. Awesome on 73 days smoke free! I think you are in the BCBK group. Sending you hugs as you are a special person and I have much love for you! We will all get together one day for sure.

    Love you all!!!

Cleo - thanks for the welcome. Group looks to be the wonderful kind of crazy!

Nadine - thanks for your welcome! You each make me feel so supported!

O2BHealthy -  can so clearly relate to your feeling related to BC. Lumpectomy on 6/4/09, port in on 7/7/09, 1st chemo scheduled for 7/23/09. However, cannot imagine the degree of heartbreak involved when you got that letter from your daughter.Cry You're my hero for being 73 butt free!

Janet - logo 2 rocks! So talented. Thanks for explaining the history behind BCBF / BCBK. What's the "laying down" pics thing about? More info please.

     Love & Aloha,

Janzin, awesome logos.  I like number 2, BCBK but I also like the red.  Very cool.

O2BHealthy--I am so sorry you are having a rough time.  It is an emotional roller coaster.  Your sweet sweet daughter writing you that note had to be SO tough.  Bless her little heart, she is scared.  You are a good mommy to console her like that and assure her you will be fine....because you WILL be fine.

Denise--welcome.  Well the laying down photos are hard to explain.  Janzin got us all hooked on her "dead pictures".  She and her friends take photos of themselves laying down playing dead in all sorts of weird places.  Well, we all liked the idea, but we don't want to offend anyone by having a bunch of cancer ladies do DEAD pictures, so we changed the name.  So now we say we are "laying down for boobies" and we will have shirts that say that, and we want woman to wear the shirts and snap photos of themselves all over the world to post on the webpage.  Just funny to look at.  If you scroll back on this forum you can see some of the photos we are talking about.  We said we were a fun bunch, not a sane bunch!

Pantufas--so glad you are home and feeling better!  Drugs are good sometimes aren't they?

WHERE IS MB???  I am worried!

Anyone hear from Jules4evr lately??? I went to check on her in FB but I think I forgot to send send invite...or I thought I sent invite...or I think I thought...darn brain fog....

Cleomoon:  I love popcorn...its the bad stuff we like on it thats bad...oh well sounds so good.

Been letting all of my friends and family know that my quit date is coming up...to bad everyone lives so far away from me.  Wish I had folks close by who could pop me in the head if I have a bad moment.  Forget that they might knock my micro hairs out.

Sure not going to miss coughing all of the time.  5 days and counting down...This is going to be fun, start my 5 year drug therapy and quit smoking...can you say bitch.  May have to pack that popcorn with me after all.

Hi Ladies, glad you like the logo's. We will go with number 2 and I will do some color versions too. Though I did play with colors a bit and to keep the red circle makes it more difficult with colors, lol. Going for a new nipple August 10th. I really don't like the boob lift my Dr gave me. I think he should of lifted it more but of course he thinks it looks great. Keeps telling me that they are never going to be the same on both sides and I can understand that, but does one have to be lower than the other?????? Not sure what the insurance co will think about getting it redone. Thing is if he screwed up the first time, I don't want him to redo it as I have lost faith in his ability.

Thanks Fifish for explaining the dead pics. They crack me up. Have some friends in LA who are going to take some and I can't wait to see them. And I can't wait to see what people will post! Love the not sane bunch, hahah.

Denise, will give you the page numbers later so you can see the dead pics. I have them on my FB too. Add me as your friend if you join. http://www.facebook.com/janet.zingano

Cleo and Nadine, love popcorn. I buy the butter flavor and spray I Can't Believe It's Butter spray on it, real low in cal and fat.

O2bHealthy, I haven't seen any action from Jules on FB in a long time. Hope she is okay. Will post on her wall and see if anybody knows anything. I am worried about MB too. Guess all we can do is PM her.

Janzin:  Sent you a request to add me on FB.  Question on the new site (if I have this correct) is it still going to be here on BC or someplace else?  Chemo brain is attacking me today, think it is the heat.  Curious on the dead pics...the jury is still out because I don't know what they are...old age I guess.

Hi Nadine, The website is going to be on bcancerbk.com. Right now it's on bcbuttfondlers.com as I haven't bought the other domain because my Internet is all messed up. Added a Dead Pic album to my photos so you can find them easier on facebook. Or you can go back on pages in this thread to view our old posts. Which I would as Pantufas did an awesome pic, lol.

Finished the logos. There are 4, one is all black for one color print jobs and the other is color for web, etc. My question is with the box or not? Let me know which you like better.

    Hope all is well!

Hello girls!  I haven't posted for quite a long time as I only post with possible slightly helpful ideas.  I had my op on June 24th, and am making good progress.

Rading through the posts, I will just repeat one or two thoughts I posted maybe early June.

Having been a long term happy smoker, I haven't smoked for about 2 years.  It took me about a year with on/off use of smoking patches, to stop.  Don't beat yourself up if it is taking this long for you.  It doesn't mean to say that you won't eventually stop.  I used to stress about this at the time too.  So there were times when I smoked and used patches!   tsk tsk. and expensive too, as cigs here are £6 sterling per pack.  And the patches are expensive too.  Anyway, I eventually got there.   All in all, beating yourself up over anything won't help.  I can't see what point there is to people putting in their tuppence about smoking, breast cancer, nast gnomes at the bottom of the garden invading the world etc etc.

I stopped smoking because I was getting older than (lets say 30.  figure it yourself!) and I was mindful of the really bad heart disease risk for women in the UK.  I was concerned about my venous system because my work is unavoidably sedentary.  yadda yadda.

Crap on what anyone wants to tell you about your sin making you ill.   Get this thing sortedd out for you, as a gift, and not to make a puritan happier.  We all know smoking isn't a great idea, but we all have done it and now it is time to move on.  End of story.  It will take effort and time, but believe me, you will get there.  And after a while, you won't think about it at all.  I don't, which is a big surprise because I thought I would feel really deprived.

The good thing is, there really will come a time when it just doesn't bloody matter!!!  Promise you!

So stick with things and love yoruselves, and a plague to silly social workers etc.  Never mibnd them, it is you that counts.

    Lots of hugs -

Hi Ladies, not doing to good with the smoking but keeping it down but my work is doing well.

London, so nice to hear from you again! I love this line, "The good thing is, there really will come a time when it just doesn't bloody matter!!!  Promise you!The good thing is, there really will come a time when it just doesn't bloody matter!!!  Promise you!" Can't wait for that and it is something to work for! Repeating post are great, reminds us again and it is so easy to lose it for the day, lol.

Seems like you like the box, see what I can do. Have to import it to the website. Hopefully will have a shell up today, here is the website address.
http://www.bcancerbk.com/ Want to use pink in it just a little but nothing bright. The colors are hard to work with, red, black and white. Reminds me of colors you would use in a 50's dinner, lol.

Have a great Sunday! Check in, would love to here from you.

    Hugs,
    Janet

Hi Pantufas and O2BHealthy, love to hear from you even if it is a quickie!!!

Looked at a bunch of BC Charity sites, your right. Pink is definitely over done, enough to make me want to gag on the color. Time for a change!!!! This may take ma longer than I thought, start getting picky about the design.

    Well back to work!

Janet - color logo with black box looks fab (oooh sounds almost scary...bwhahaha) and seems suit the Lay Down pics which I scrolled through the site to find and used the listing you so kindly put together. Loved them and loved the concept! I'll do the FB thing right after this. Be aware that I use my dog's name as screen name "Sasha Murai".

Pantufus - wishing you wellness and feel better soons! Your Lay Down pic with your cat was the one that really made me laugh. Thanks for bringing cheer on a emotionally rough day!

You're all great supports! Thank you. Love and hugs to you all,

Hi Denise, Pantufas picture had me laughing for days. That's what those pictures are about, to cheer us up. I love the name of you dog, maybe you can pick a name for my little sausage puppy. Her eyes are fully open now.

    Demi 3

Can't figure out a name for her. Can't wait for her to come home so I can kiss her!

Cleo, yes the creative side is coming out. So good to hear that yours is out too. Would love to see your pictures!

Thanks for all your help ladies, have a great night!

Whew, that was a LOT of posts to read.  I liked the color logo in the black box, but I understand if the colors are hard to work with.  I do love the abstract lady in the logo, very cool.  In my opinion, the pink is overdone.  Maybe we could use our own color....lavender....mint green......baby blue....(lol, trying to keep them in pastels so they are still "girly").  But if you ask me, the black, white and red (50's diner) looks damn cool.

Janzin--you need to name that puppy!  Don't worry, it will come to you.

Thanks for checking in Michelle, cleomoon, denise, Nancy (and everyone else).  Please let me know if anyone hears from Mary Beth and Jules.  You are right, Jules hasn't been on facebook for weeks!

If any of you other ladies are going on facebook, look me up.  I am at www.facebook.com/ellenfischer1 Hope to see you there!

Janet - so love your puppy! Just want to go all "Oooh warm , fuzzy, and oooh ahhhh sooo cute!". My dog was named by my husband. No particular logic or reason behind it either. Really his first choice for her was Pumpkin! Fat round black lab puppy named Pumpkin? I don't think so! So my response was "Just because her birthday was Halloween doesn't mean that it's a good idea to give her a theme name sweetie.". So many names possible for your puppy. Are you leaning toward cutsy, related to your interests, or something else? Swear it's worse than naming a people type baby!

Agree with totally with Ellie's last post - please no more pink. Makes me think of Pepto and with 1st chemo coming up it's so not a pleasant association. Black-white-red combo seems to suit the ladies here --really bold! (But definitely not "from the 50's kind of girls" in attitude!)

Lay Down pics (face up ones) made me think "Oh so quitting smoking... laying our butts down... okay I get it. But then there's all those face up ones..."

    Love & Aloha,

    DeniseM
