    Mimi,

Don't do it! Wait a week until you are healthy. The last thing you want is a cough.

    Headeast,

YES! You are not even two weeks out! I didn't see a change for the better until I'd passed 4 weeks.

I had a cold with cough that I couldn't get rid of at time of exchange surgery and had exchange with no problem other than very sore throat post op in comparison to other surgeries.

Just reading that some do massage to reduce the risk of capsular contracture.  How long is that a risk?  Just during healing....or forever?  (I haven't had exchange, yet).

Saw my ps today, 5 weeks post exchange. While he does say there is
still alot of swelling, he was completely open to what I had to say
about how they seem. For starters he reiterated what he said right
before exchange- that he will lipo around the sides, and that will help
alot with the wideness of the things. Then he said because of the amount
of tissue (not fat to lipo out) on top of them (anatomicals 410s), he
recommends switching to a round-- and go down to about a 320, from the
400 approx size my implants are now. I told him that while I look I
guess fine in clothes- when I look at myself I look quite large. He also
said (because I remarked on how hard they feel), that the rounds would
be softer. And use a low profile. So Im pretty happy with the plan. I
see him again in 4 weeks for another check up and then get a time table
    for the swap out.

Aviva - I think I just missed you.  I saw him for a follow up today too and when I was making my next appt I saw your file (closed) sitting on the desk.  Glad to hear he is willing to do the swap you are looking for.  I have heard that the round silicone are much softer & pliable than the anatomical.  I am happy with mine but I do notice a shifting feeling when I get up in the morning but it only lasts a few seconds.

He told me today that mine look fantastic - 11 weeks post exchange - and that I should be flaunting them.  SillyHeart He did agree that they are not symmetrical but the left (rad side) is getting better.  See him again in 2 months for next follow up & potentially discuss exchange to larger on the left.

mnm - I'm not sure how long cc can be a risk.  I started massaging with BioOil about 2 months post-BMX to keep the skin as soft and supple and stretchable as possible.  Wasn't thinking about capsular contraction at that point.  I've just kept up the daily routine since then.

OH ladies.....I could use your opinions!  I had my last 'fill' yesterday.  I felt like I was 'close' to the proper size...so hard to tell.  I seemed small in some clothes, huge in a tank top, not as big as I was before surgery, but maybe I dont' remember, etc., etc., etc....   So, I chose to do one more...especially because everyone seems to feel as though the implants feel much smaller than the TE's.

Well, today, I am REALLY aware of my 'breasts.'  I am wondering if I am too big.  I didn't feel this way AT ALL before that fill!  It was only 45cc!!!  My PS almost didn't do the fill  yesterday, but then reminded me that we can take saline out as easily as put it in if I'm not happy.

I am currently at 550cc....  whippetmom feels I should end up with a minimum of 650 for my size/frame.  But....my TE's are very narrow (underwire bras fit just fine around them.).  My PS said that he will need to put a bigger implant in than the TE in order to fill the same space.  Not sure how much bigger, and neither is he.  But says that my underwire bras will still work if they fit around the TE's.

I have 2 friends who felt that their implants were 'about the same' as the TE's (how big they feel).

I feel like I have a huge "ledge" on top ....like I could balance a pencil up there easily......that goes away with the implants, right?????

My big fear is that I will be TOO big......and also that I will be too small to look normal...  I guess after going through all of this I just want to look 'normal.'  And, I dream of getting back to exercising...including high impact, like jogging...without dealing with massive breasts....I always wore minimizer bras or sports bras before.

So....does this situation sound familiar to anyone?  If you have had your exchange, did you feel too big, small, just about right, compared to the TE's?

I hate that I am obsessing about this, but I really am hoping to get this right!

mnmbeck - I know what you mean...  Too big, too small, just right?  I sound like Goldilocks!  I told my PS I wanted to be about the same size as I was before (with improvements - gravity is not your friend after a certain age! )  I'm pretty much of a clothes horse so didn't want to change so much that nothing would fit.  I was originally a 34C but that really doesn't mean much.  I'm tall and skinny with wide shoulders, but I've never been accused of being busty by any stretch of the imagination.  Right now I'm seven weeks post exchange and am a little bigger than before (but perkier) and am happy with the size.  I would guess that I'm about a 36D but haven' bothered to get fitted yet as the girls are still settling in.  Why not walk around like you are for a few days or a week and see how you like it?  Don't panic.  You're not having your exchange tomorrow, are you?  Scared  Just take your time and see how it goes.  It's way easier to take some saline out as opposed to putting it back in!  Winking

Mnmbeck, my implant is nearly half the size of the TE, even though the cc's were the same. The "shelf" is gone and fortunately so is the stripper boob. But, I was surprised at how much smaller I am than the TE's.

Kimberly, please do not think you will feel fine two days after your surgery! It's possible, but not probable. I'm not saying this to scare you, but to remind you that everyone has a different recovery period so don't make plans for Thursday that can't be changed. Maybe it will be a walk in the park. Maybe not. But you need to have realistic expectations and I think your doctor is not doing you a favor by saying you'll be feeling good in 48 hours.

I always felt bigger right after a fill until about 3 days later and things would stretch out and relax. I know what you mean about the ledge. My PS explained to me that my TE were wider and sat lower than what my implants would do. The Implants wouldn't feel like they were under the armpits and would sit higher up. The day after my exchange when I took the bandages off everything was exactly the way he said. The only thing I was a little surprised about was the slope of the breast. Since I had rounds put in I was expected more of an upper swell but I was still really really impressed and happy with how they looked. Now 10 days later and they have loosened up a bit, projected a bit more and I am getting more of that upper swell curve. I absolutely love them! I was filled to 340cc and had 275cc mentor round high profile impants put in. I am now a 34C cup which is what I was before.

mnbeck, I ran into the doorways with my TEs! LOL. Now with my implants I have never run into a single one. I am now a 42 C (almost) not quite as much front projection to fill completely but not like it's caved in either. Maybe like a wrinkle in the front. And Kimberly,  you will be having surgery on your native breast. While the implant might be relatively ready, I don't think It will be quite that easy. But you never know. I would give yourself a bit of wiggle room.

    Much love to all.

mnbeck--First of all, give it a few days after this last fill to determine if you feel too big.  I have to say that I have read quite a few "I am too big after exchange" comments lately, myself included.  I told my PS that I wanted to be smaller than my native breasts and although approximately 650 grams of breast tissue was removed and I received 500 cc implants, I am approximately the same size I was pre-BMX, albiet much perkier.  I would like to be smaller and am upset that the PS did not "hear" what I was saying prior to BMX.  Having been rather large breasted all my life (40D) and dealing with the bounce, running into doorframes, etc., I am more prone to be a proponent of the "I want to be smaller" camp.  My feeling is that I could always wear a padded bra for enhancement but it is difficult to minimize the "cup runneth over" situation.  Just my two cents.  Go with your gut.  My 650cc's TE's were filled to 350/360cc's during BMX and I felt that was enough.  However, my PS and my husband kept telling me that I was not big enough.  I eventually was filed to 450/460cc's prior to exchange and told the PS that the size I was with the TE's at that point were fine but a little smaller would be okay.  The PS  ended up giving me 500cc's Mentor Round Moderate Plus silicone implants which I now feel are too big and too wide; I  will probably end up having these swaped out for smaller implants at some point.

why can't guys understand that a woman might actually want to be smaller, especially if she was big before??  Who wants to go back to large, heavy and droopy? I know you are perkier after, but Really? Lucky for me my PS listened to me. I'm big enough to see I have breast and small enough to not have to wear a bra. My TEs were filled to 500 and I asked to have the 550 implants put in. I look just like I did with the TEs, only a lot more comfortable. My right side has finally stopped hurting so much so I'm doing a lot better.

Lori, I'm feeling the same way about my PS....not really hearing me.  I was in tears on Tues and seriously thinking about changing PS.  I want to be much smaller than i was before all this mess...but he won't talk in terms of cup size, so that discussion is basically void.  I have 500cc capacity TEs in....and am filled to 375cc currently.  Im just over 2 wks out of  my mastectomy/recon. I had to pull the brakes on the last fill.  Was going to have 100cc injected but I've been having pain on 1 side since surgery and feel like i need a bit of time for that side to heal.  I had 200cc at time of surgery, then 100c, then 75cc.

I kind of like my current size...A friend is suggesting I'm a B.  I haven't been a B since jr. High!   A friend jokingly said...anything bigger than a hand is of no use.

What I'm perplexed about...is the TE "projection" pretty close to the size it will look like when it gets swapped out?  I'm going for the gummy silicone ones.  Do the fat transfers add volume?   ive heard you don't want to expand larger than you want, so that has me worried that any more expansion would probably be too much..but then ive heard there can be significant changes in size..  It seems as though my PS is like an artist who thinks he knows  whats best for my frame..but doesnt ask whats best for me emotionally.  Thats the impression I get.  I want to feel like I'm part of the process and not just a piece of canvas.
