Wow...so much going on....I think we all need a collective deep breath and a big hug that doesn't hurt any of us. So I'm gonna close my eyes.....take a deep breath of beautiful air....hold it, then slowly let it out and think loving healing thoughts for every one here. Then I'm going to hug my only child who will be leaving for college in the fall and thank God I'm alive to be able to see him through.

Love, hugs and a restful night to all

I put the "new girls" on the Picture thread.  The first picture is before the exchange, then bandaged the day I got home and 4 days later.  Not thrilled with them.  But I will wait and see.

Cathee I was finally going to read through all the old post than read your comment and had to check your pix out.  The pix are small so it's a little hard to tell but it looks like you got good results.  If possible side pix gives us a better idea how things look.  I hope in time you'll be thrilled : - )

I read Annies great news plus I heard more great news, I should becoming a great aunt very shortly, that is my neice is in the hospital and I'm sure she's hoping it's soon.

Ok I will try to catch up on all the comments...

Laura - Sorry you had a bad day.  Anything new or just the same old??

Annie - So,so glad for you!  Thanks again for answered prayers.

To all of you dealing with financial issues and BC at the same time, my heart goes out to you.  I'll be more grateful for Canadian medicare and try not to be annoyed by the long waiting lists.

On that note, got a note from the surgical care team and my PS has requested my exchange for mid May even though his wait list is 6-9 months.  So happy!!!

I did not want anyone to worry about me.. sorry.

I have just gained some weight.. and it is not normal for me. I saw my onc. today and she said I was retaining water. Stage 1-2.. not too bad. But no Herceptin for me until they check my heart for problems. I have to take off work Thurs. to do this ( I JUST went back)... then.. next week.. due to my swelling.. I have to have a brain CT on top of the bone scans( due to arm bone pain for two weeks) and CT of the rest of the organs to see if I have any mets. ( My first scans since my DX 8 months ago)...

So.. I am just overloaded... but ok.. just need some me time.

    Love you !

OMG Laura... I really do wished we lived closer, I would so love to give you a big hug.  It will be well things are looking up around here and I want it to continue that way : - )

Finially got through all the post.  Southport glad to hear things went well

It is normal and I would highly suggest to your PS to have a couple implants and choose what fits best.  My 1st exchange my PS only had one implant and tried filling it to the max to get rid of ripples but was still to small.  So when I had my 2nd exchange I asked my new PS to take several in with her.

I'm sorry I forget the name but they gal getting herTE put back in just want to wish you well and that everything goes well this time.

To all the exchanges this week good luck

Hang in there gals we'll get through this...

    I almost forgot to say...

Last year when we took our family to Wisc. Dells I ask the resort if they had a discount for cancer survivors and I think they took about $20 off our room so it never hurts to ask.  Some good has to come out of all of this...

Hi ladies! I'm kind of random today...

Just got back from my Bible Study - Beth Moore's "Esther:  It's Tough Being a Woman."  Great study if you ever get the chance to take it - SO encouraging.

My son in law is re-doing our deck right now and then he will paint our living room/dining/kitchen/entryway.  We're in desperate need of a makeover (just in time for my exchange - yay!) and his job isn't set to start for another month.  We don't mind helping the kids while we still can.  They're living off my daughter's part time job (not easy to do).   Like many of you have said, times are tough!  Our company is cutting hours across the board.   And my husband and I don't even look at the monthly statements for our retirement account.  We'll probably never retire.

I'm excited that my other daughter and grandkids are coming to visit for the weekend. Pray she has safe travel through the snow.

I've been irritable for two weeks... can't put my finger on it.  My husband has also been struggling a little bit, too.  I read Pinky Lee's post about her husband's depression, and I wonder if these big life changes aren't kicking our rear-ends a bit more than we are willing to admit?  This board is great for support, but maintaining a positive attitude the rest of the time takes some doing.  Lots of prayer and surrounding myself with GOOD input (like my Bible study, or conversation with encouraging friends, or watching a really inspiring movie) is crucial for me.

I heard something REALLY good tonight -- life-changing kind of good.  Here it is:  "It's tough being a woman in a mean world (I would say we live in a mean world) and the toughest part is not getting mean with it."  How does that happen?  (this part really stuck with me) "We swap pain for anger because it's easier for awhile, and boy, can it be energizing!  Soon mad turns to mean."

Don't know if anyone else needed that, but I did.  I know too many mean old women in the nursing home.  I don't ever want to become one.

I told you this was random.  It's the ramblings of one facing surgery again in a week.

Anniealso~~Excellent information, so helpful!  I'm not sure what our out of pocket totals will be yet, but I will certainly take your advice and go in person to each of the providers.  They both just happen to be a half mile from my house, so no excuse there!

I got a form to complete from my breast surgeon's office to complete with the amount I intend to pay each month.  So even if I say $25, they can't refuse?  That might be all I want to commit to right now, since there are two other doctors and a hospital involved.  This is so much better than putting it all on credit cards and paying all that interest!

Congratulations on your great report--I wasn't aware you were looking at possible lung cancer---you must have been so frightened!

How do you PM someone--I'm assuming that means to send an email?  Thanks so very much for your help!  Suzie

Annie - Wonderful news. We all needed to hear it. Thanks for sharing!

Looper - I am with you with the worry. I lost my job the day before my surgery and am slowly trying to build back up a home business. Somedays I am excited, other days I am worried sick. On top of it my daughter is desparately trying to find a job w/o luck so far and my son is working for minimum wage. Yes, times are worrisome! I am sorry you are dealing w/ all this!

And Laura, oh my oh my. I don't know what to say. I am mentally sending you a huge blanket to wrap around and protect you from everything but love and healing touches. I am so very sorry that you have to go through any of this!! You know that I care so much!

Deborah has PM'd me updates for this site, I will put them up soon.

Looper - In order to PM someone, click on their name and the site will take you to the place to send a PM.

Another sister is having her sentinel node identification procedure today, pre-op yesterday and double mastectomy someday this week. She just found out last week that she has lobular ca in both breasts. Needless-to-say, the speed at which all this is happening is dizzying to her and her family. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Take care my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Jean

Oh my gosh so much is happening in here I can't keep everybody straight.  I just hope we all get through this journey with sanity.  I feel so bad when I hear about any of you having extra problems, it's hard enough just getting this far.

I'm with all that have these darn expanders in.  Getting so tired of the hardness and not being able to get a decent nights sleep.

Take care all and I'm sure enjoying everybodys notes.

Thanks for all the encouragement.  I can't remember who said what, but good luck to all.

I do have a fire going and it has been burning since yesterday morning.  SO even got out of bed and we went for a ride.  We will be going to Tyson's his afternoon for a day out, so maybe he finally got the message.  He even agreed to go to the doctor's and get a physical.

I am still anxious about Thursday and will take it one day at a time.

psalmist:  Oh, I agree about anger - how pain and even fear more often than not are two emotions manifested as anger.  I have a good friend who said, "I want to be the kind of old woman who everyone wants to come and visit."  She is in her 60's now and has been one of the most positive women I have ever known - even in the face of much adversity.  I think she has nailed it.

Yee haw.....My exchange is scheduled!!!!!! March 18th ...700 cc Mentor moderate plus silicone implants.....He gave me another 50 cc today for comfort. Never thought fills made me comfortable but they do at the very end...helps me sleep on my side....and I certainly wouldn't need that seat cushion as a flotation device....LOL

Thinking of all...positive, encouraging thoughts. I never thought I would get here when I started this journey. But somehow I did. And everyone will too.

    Hugs, Kathie

I am so sorry you are having to go thru this. Cancer Sucks!  But here's a big (((hug))) and know that we're all pulling for you!

To everyone else, I can't keep you straight, but it doesn't matter.  My thoughts are with each of you as we go through this journey.  On my desk is a copy of  Jabberwocky, by Lewis Carroll.  We are the conquerors who will bring back its head.  And some other parts too,    JUDY

    Judy - Cancer certainly sucks!!

A little update. My friend's sister is having her BM tomorrow. No time to plan, to time to pack and certainly no time to come to grips w/ this whole thing. I just emailed off a quick packing list to her. I cannot imagine having to do this so quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with her and with everyone dealing with this darn dx.

Take care everyone! Gentle hugs to all of you - especially those facing surgery or radiation or chemotherapy or other treatments this week! - Jean

Hi all, especially Ladyredlocks, PinkyLee, Hood1980 and PattyS!  Just wanted to let you know that for me, the exchange surgery was a piece of cake! I arrived at the hospital and checked in at 8, went to the holding room at 8:30, had surgery at 10, and was on my way home at 12! (where I took a 3 hour nap, LOL!).  At this moment I am in no pain.  I sneaked a feel underneath my binder, and my new girl is so soft, I love her already! No drain--yay!!!! I have a Mentor 800cc smooth round moderate plus profile gel silicone implant. When my PS came to draw on my chest, I had a note attached which said "Bodacious or Bust!" (he had promised to make me bodacious, and I wanted to remind him, LOL!). He was greatly amused. I figure it's a good idea to make sure the surgeon is in a good mood, right?! Anyhow, girls, my prayer for all of you is that you have as easy a time of it as I did. My best wishes, and gentle hugs, to all of you!

Thank you NVDiane... I was just composing a post to burn off my nervous energy... 17 hours and counting till my exchange.  My surgery was moved up (to 11 instead of 2) so thats good news - sooner I get in sooner I get it over!  I'm so encouraged yours went so well and your already back online!

I think I'm as ready as I can be.  House is scrubbed to within and inch of its life.  Laundry done. Sheets are washed and back on the bed (clean sheet night :-)  Fridge is packed.  Freezer is packed with hubbys quick fixings (marinara, meat sauce, chili and chicken mole) so I don't have to cook for a few days.   Hospital bag packed - just in case (I had some complications with BM and had to stay a week in hospital). I can't think of what else I need to be doing - so I'm writing while the grandbaby naps at my side.

Thank God for little blessings that come in grandbaby packages!  She is such a joy.  Today we are having a blast (and helping keep grandmas mind off her anxiety!)  We set up her tent in the family room, filled it with pillows and blankies, brought out the tea party dishes and we are "camping" with the stuffed animals in the wilds of the family room :-) LOL.
