Diane - Thanks for letting us know how easy your procedure was. I will be going through mine on Thursday at 1:00. Wish it was scheduled for earlier in the day. Did you have to take any pain meds? Here's hoping we all experience an easy time like you.

Ladyredlocks - Gosh you made me tired just reading all the things you have done to prepare for surgery. I haven't done anything yet. Good luck to you and wishing you a speedy recovery.

    PattyS,

I have not taken anything since the surgery.  I think I will take a hydrocodone tonight before I get in bed, hopefully to insure a good night's sleep. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

P.s... NVDiane - may I ask, what did you wear to the hospital? zip or button front shirt again to get in and out easy (like for mastectomy)? is the bandage / wrap bulky?  do you have drains again?  should I wear the drain cami again?

    Ladyredlock...wow another hot looking Grandma : )

I would suggest to wear a button up shirt or zip up shirt.  Fom my 1st exchange they used that bandage wrap like they did for my Mastectomy.  For my 2nd exchange my new PS gave me one of those zip up garmets to wear which is nice.  If you have a drain cami I would suggest to take it with in case you would want it.  Usually we don't need drains with a exchange but a few times gals have needed them.  I'm not sure why.  Lets hope no one here will.

Psalmist~~Love the comment about being the old lady everyone wants to visit--I feel the same way--my DH and I see no point in being old and cranky--never stop giggling!

Diane~~You are truly a dynamo--what an inspiration!  You need to be extra-cautious about overdoing, I'm sure.

Ladyredlocks~~Time spent with your granddaughter is the best you can do to prepare--what fun!

Thank you Rockwell_Girl, I'll take your suggestion and wear it under my shirt since it is so easy to get in and out of.  And thanks for the compliment!  I attribute it to good irish genes, lots of water and fresh fruit and I don't wear makeup except once a month or so when hubby and I go out to dinner.

Looper - I can't agree more... been on the floor for the last hour trying to stack blocks with her - have you ever tried to build a jenga tower with a 17 month old... LOL  stack and smash... stack and crash!  It is sure making the afternoon go by fast.

((((((((((((Laura))))))))))))) Just how much does one person have to go through???My heart hurts for you!  I'm sending positive vibes your way and hopefully all your scans will come back negative and you can rest assured for a bit.  Take all the time you need but know that we miss you.

Kathie - Great news about your exchange date!! One more month and you'll be sleeping on your new foobs!

Prayers out to your friend's sister Jean.  The only blessing is that she won't have to stew about things for long.  The sooner that evil crap is out of her the better!

Ladyredlocks- Good luck to you - just two more sleeps!  We really should start a new thread "Way to young and hot to be grannys with foobs"!  Any joiners???  LOL

Exciting to hear your doing so well Diane!  All you ladies are a real inspiration for us ladies-in-waiting.  It is hard to believe that the exhange won't be another pain-filled experience.  Who knew we would be so excited not to have drains..who knew the expander process would be so painful???  Maybe it is a good thing or this thread would be about us discussing our prostheses!!!

Diane - That's so cool. Thanks for posting. Now we can change you to completed!

Ladyredlocks - Enjoy playing w/ your grandbaby and best wishes. I think you are up next. All will go well and it will soon be you posting for the ladies scheduled on the 26th that it is behind you and not all that bad. Best wishes my dear!

I had a little, itty, bitty tiff with my PS yesterday.  Well, not exactly a "tiff", but she made a comment which indicated she was rather irritated with me for being so anal about getting the right size of implants for the exchange.  I told her that I wanted my implants to be the same size as my expanders, width and projection.  The reason I said this is because just before I went into the exam room, the nurse who checked me in asked me if I was happy with the size of my expanders and I said yes, I was and I wanted my implants to look the same.  She said, "yeah, I know that usually the implants end up being smaller than the expanders."  EEEKKKK !!!  MY POINT EXACTLY!  WHAT OUR DISCUSSIONS ON THIS FORUM HAVE BEEN ABOUT FOR MONTHS!  HELLO???  So when I mentioned not wanting to lose width or projection, my PS responded, "I have told you about ten times now that you will not get the same projection."  I said, "well, how about if I revise that to as much projection as possible?"  She chuckled and then said, "so what implants do you want me to use?"  I told her Style 45, 550 cc's, Allergan Natrelle.  She said, "Okay, that's what I will order then!"  My expanders are at 6.3 and the implants have a projection of 6.0.  Close enough.   A few uncomfortable moments....but I am sure that this is b/c she has voiced previously that she thinks I am "too small-framed for my desired size of implants.

I sort of slithered out of the office.  I won't show my face again until my pre-op....I hope....

I will be anxiously waiting for your final outcome to see how close you get....hope you get exactly what you want on April 10th.....I did not know all of this info about the expander size when I had my exchange but my implants still turned out exactly like my expanders....I am very pleased..

Like I have said in previous post, we need to take control over the size boobs we want.

    Linda54,

I revisited your photos and am very encouraged.  I am getting high profile Mentor 450 cc silicones next Tuesday, and the projection you have is GREAT.  I just hope mine won't be too big.  I'm 5'5 and 125 lbs with a narrow chest.

Linda, and you know I love the way your reconstruction turned out!  I think that the expanders used makes a difference and your expanders had a projection which compared to the projection of the implants.  But if my PS had put in Natrelle Style 20's [which she planned originally], the projection would have been 5.4 cm, as compared to my 6.3 cm expanders.  Therefore, my implants truly WOULD have been smaller than my expanders and I would have had a much larger base width than I have now.

Thanks for the kudos dear sisters!

WOW Deborah I sure hope you post your post opt pix, or we'll just have to use our imagination.  It sounds like you'll have really nice results with those implants : - ).

psalmist I have 550cc high profile implant, not sure if you've been to the pix forum I'm on there as sandysunshine, that implant would be the one that mentions lift and new implant.  I hope you will be happy with your implant : - )

    Laura,

I've been meaning to say your new avatar looks much younger than your previous one if you ask me.  I think it was the dress.  In this one you look like a pixie that may not cause trouble, but thinks about it.

I'm 3 months post exchange and had to have a 250cc seroma surgically drained from my right breast this morning.  They think I hurt myself pulling luggage off the baggage carousel a week ago.  It felt like having an expander filled by 250cc all at once.  I was in so much pain and had a head ache and nausea, I was worried my implant had ruptured.  Today's surgery has been a great relief both physically and mentally.

    Be good to yourselves,

    Carol(AZ)

We love you too Laura!!!  Any new information?

Sandy:  I read your instructions for resizing and posting to the pictures forum and I just could not get it to work.  It was taking far too much time and I finally gave up.  I thought I would just wait until I get my exchange and try again - all in one fell swoop.

Well, I still have some trepidation about the size of the implants though. I don't want to focus so much on PROJECTION that I end up looking like I have Madonna's bullet bra stuck to my chest.
