dani42 - I couldn't stop laughing at the testicle comment. I'll have to run that one by husband when I get home. Isn't it the truth, though?

OK - nipple update: Went to the PS yesterday. One is shrinking down nicely. The other one is still puffy and quite large. He still feels it will shrink down, but if not -- he said it is an easy office procedure to reduce in size.

Jazzygem ~ Jan Great news for my co-worker!!! B9!!!! What a relief. She told me that if they had come back with bad news she would have quit her job, sold her home and moved to an island. Ha! That thought has crossed all of our minds a few times I'm sure.
It would make me very happy to be the last girl in my circle of friends/family/relatives/co-workers to have this experience.
Reading about everyone's exchanges is getting me really excited and anxious to get the date set. Can't wait to cross my arms again!
Then I can get excited about nipples ~~

Dani-you are a riot!!! If I had a husband or even a significant other I would tell him and surely get the same reaction. I think the reason I am still single (other than the fact I haven't met anyone here) would have to do with the fact that I keep introducing new boyfriends as my next ex husband - for some reason they don't think that is funny......men have no sense of humor....

A quick check-in, my dear friends! Still having a pretty hard time. Yesterday was really not good - broke through vicodin and soma with pain, burning, throbbing.....today better, but I'm still kinda hazy. My surgery took over 2 1/2 hours, so I know he did a lot of pocket work, which I guess explains my discomfort. I've spent most of my time on the couch, though today was sitting up at the kitchen table a bit more. Tomorrow is the unveiling and hopefully drain removal - though I'm still putting out a good bit, sad to say. Guess not everybody's exchange is a piece of cake........ Talk to you all tomorrow....Have a fab time all of you heading to Vegas - wish I were with you!

What an amazing group of girls you all are!! I have been reading this forum all summer (I asked a question here and there) and I think it is incredible that you are all meeting in Vegas. I learned so much here and I am anxious for my exchange, I am also armed with so much knowledge now. I just finished my last session of radiation today and I now have 6 months to wait for my exchange. Good luck to all those who are exchanging soon and get well quick to all those that are recuperating now. You are all so inspirational!!!!!

Dani I thought I was going to die laughing at the testicle/shorts comment. You should warn people with comebacks like that! I nearly choked on the cup of tea I was drinking!
Val Hang in there sister. I just hope that the great unveiling tomorrow is everything you want it to be and that they remove the dreaded drains. I hope you get some pain relief, keeping you in good thoughts.
Robin I hope that the nipple situation works out. That is next on my agenda, after the mammogram on 10-9. You have been so helpful with your insight to me.
Cnemeth B-9!!!! What a relief for both of you. There is that closeness thing again, you really felt her anguish at the potential diagnosis, now you can share the joy.
Laura 10-28!!! What a great day. I am so happy that this PS recognized the need for corrective action. A lot of whispers into God's ear were heard about giving you the desires of your heart.
I can't wait to see the pictures of Vegas, celebrate for all of us that aren't there but are celebrating and supporting you in absentia.

((annie)) I'm going to the ps on Monday so I can show her my "hard edge" then. I am glad to hear that yours resolved--that gives me hope. I have also noticed my BP is much higher than it used to be. Don't know if its "white coat fever" (geez, can't imagine why we'd get nervous around doctors, hmm) or if its something real, but I've got it too.
((dani)) that's hilarious. Thanks for making me try to imagine backwards testicles (could you really tell the difference?)
((val)) I'm sorry you are having so much pain. Take it easy girl, and hopefully those drains can come out. 2.5 hours is a long operation, so it will probably take you a bit longer to get back on your feet than others. Give yourself time.
To all the Vegas Ta-Ta sisters, have a blast and take lots of pictures to share!

Val!!! I was the same!! Don't worry- it doesn't last that long. 2 weeks post op I was much better and 3 weeks post op I was driving, off meds and GREAT!!! My drains put a lot out too, my PS said it is from the alloderm!!! Don't worry, it goes faster after your first week. I think I was driving by 2 weeks. I was in the OR for 3 hours- he said I had 64 internal stitches. Today I am 4 weeks post op and feel great- no pain meds at all. I ran 1/2 mile yesterday for the first time in 6 months. My sternum hurt a lot last night- but only took aleve. I am going to try for a mile today!!! AND I can now sleep on my side (started that around 3 weeks post op)!!! Keep us updated OK!!!

Val- So sorry to hear that you are having a hard time. That is a long surgery. Don't get impatient. Give yourself all the time that you need to rest up, Luckily, you don't have little ones to attend to, so you can concentrate on you. Can't wait to hear how you like everything.
Vegas girls, have a great time. I know that a lot of tears and laughter will be shared. I wish I could be there.

Gee---it is so quiet here today...I bet there are lots of hugs and tears going on right now in Vegas!

Yeah, All the sisters are in Vegas having fun, and we are here all by ourselves! I guess we have to wait until they get back and upload some pictures. Jan

Cheri, should you be waiting at least 6 weeks before running? I know I was told I could exercise as long as they didn't jiggle.
Samiam40, you had me laughing: (could you really tell the difference?) if the testicles are backwards. I was afraid I may offend people with that comment. Glad to see you are all as twisted as I am!
Val, so sorry that you are having a hard time. I hope things get easier for you quickly.

Hello ladies... I hope everyone is having a great time in Vegas! I have been watching this thread for a while in anticipation of my exchange...
I am supposed to call my PS in after my last chemo (Wednesday, Sept 30th) to schedule my exchange, hopefully within the first two week of November.
OMG my TE's are really hurting...skin is stretched so tight I feel like I am going to BURST and muscles are burning...I had to break into my post surgery stash of pain killers last night to get some relief. Had a fill on Monday and PS said it will be my last fill until pre-op overfill...I don't know how they will be able to add anymore saline as it is. I did not this much discomfort with any of the other fills. I am at 500 cc's right now which really surprises me cause I just pulled my "id card' out of my wallet and It says "Allergen 133LV-14 TE 350cc" for each side...Holy Heck!!!! No wonder they feel like bricks! We are going for small to full C (was a small . I am so confused about implants and what the end result will be cause these TE's sure as heck don't look like breasts, more like half a cantaloupe stuck under my skin.
Thanks for letting me vent...if anyone has suggestions or advice, please let me know. I have been wearing a sports bra 24/7 for the last month because it seemed to help with discomfort and now that doesn't even work anymore.
Thanks Bunches!

O2bhealthy Ahhh the memories of the TE's. I called mine a turtle. I always felt like the round hard shell was stuck in my chest. My implant was a 500cc Mentor moderate profile and ended up being a C cup, it all depends on your body size. I also wore the sport bra during the last month of fills as it helped with the movement of the "turtle rubbing against my ribs". This is the hard part of the journey, but when the implants are put in and they are so soft and feel like a breast, it makes the TE price of admission a little better. I am waiting for the fipple part of the reconstruction. Welcome to the Ta-Ta sisterhood. Jan0
-
Thanks Jan1 - I keep trying to focus on the end result but UGH!!! This sucks!!!
What kinda of fipple recon are you doing? My PS does this nip and tuck procedure??? not skin graft...was too distracted at the time to ask more questions...

Michelle, I think the process which hasn't been discussed with the PS in great detail is a cut and twist then suture method. I will then have Judy (facecrafter) do the Tattoo of the areola after the nipple has been made. I am a "uniboober" have one Foob and one natural breast (helped out with a small augmentation at the exchange surgery.) My PS won't do the fipple until my mammogram comes out negative. I will definitely find out what the nipple making process is before I have it done. I have even considered doing without the nipple and having a 3-D tattoo done of the nipple area. Robin is happy with her decision to have a nipple made and I am most likely going to do that. I rely on the information of those that have gone through this before me, their insight is most helpful. Jan

Michelle--you will want input from Deborah, when she returns from Vegas. My last two fills were painful. My TE's were 600cc and we filled them to 750cc and put in 800cc implants.
Trust Jan and I when we say it will feel better immediately, aside from whatever surgical pain you may or may not have--many women find it a very easy surgery, and others don't it kind of depends on how much pocket revision the PS does. You will feel softer from the moment you wake up. What you are going through really is worth it!
Venting is always welcome, Hugs,
Karen
