Thank you everyone for all the hugs, prayers and support. I check in to the pre-op at 530 am tomorrow. PinkyLee - I'm so sorry you are upset. I wish I could take it for you. I use to be like that but after having 5 surgeries last year, I make a game of it to see how long/how much I can remember before finally getting put under. I also know just about all the nurses by now! They are full of love and support too.
You too Patty! Hope your exchange is easy, breezy & wonderful!
All you ladies with too much snow! Send me some! We haven't had any accumulation yet & I love the snow! I'll check in tomorrow!

So much going on, and so many good wishes---what a great group!
Snadye~~I also had my exchange on 2/9, describing the look as two hamburger buns, but everyone has assured me that the look will get better--it takes several months, so have faith. I have my second checkup tomorrow, lots of questions for my PS.
I have a link to share with everyone, just for a little fun. Thinking of making one of these myself (I'm a tailor). Take a peek when you have a moment for a smile: www.quiltersofsc.org/artfullbras.htm Off to bed to read a bit--Suzie

PinkyLee - I know you have already left for your surgery, but I was thinking - you should have told the nurse that "Certainly I am getting them enlarged, they are MUCH too small right now!" And left her w/ her mouth hanging open! She deserved it!
Snadye - Welcome to our group. I am sorry you are not happy w/ your implants so far. Can you provide any more details? Size, type? Why are you dissapointed? Most of the ladies tell us that it takes a little time for them to "fluff" - perhaps that's what will happen for you.
Diane - Great post. Can we have some of that too! Tirimasu!
PinkyLee, Hood and PattyS - Thoughts and prayers with you all today!

You all are probably on your way already. Wishing Everyone The Best with thier exchanges today.
PinkyLee- What a Rude Nurse!
Hood- I had 4 surgeries last year. I am like you. I try to remember all I can before they knock me out (well I was awake for my Heart Surgery)
My Pulse before my Exchange was 60! Felt just like any other day to me.
I guess Im used to it.
Suzie- the link didnt work for me...Is it a Decorated Bra? As I do want to do that. (Im a Seamstress)

PinkyLee, Pattys and Hood - I've been thinking about you all morning and praying that all turns out wonderful. Sorry that you had such a crappy day yesterday PinkyLee, it sure isn't fair to go through unnecessary stress.
Welcome Snadye and Dietcokemom - I am a newbie to this site too and it has been a Godsend for me! I finally felt like someone really understood my issues, especially the little ones that don't seem like a big deal to anyone but us!
Laura - Lots of prayers for you today girl! I hope all goes okay for you. You are way too sweet to be going through so much.
I had my 4 millionth dressing change yesterday. Okay maybe that is an exaggeration but I feel like I am getting tape ripped off me everytime I turn around. Thank goodness I have no feeling on the skin of my foob! The PS is trying a NEW dressing because I still have two open spots the size of dimes that just don't heal. They seem to be healing a bit but each time they remove the dressing they open up again. He did leave one dressing on for 2 weeks to avoid that but I guess they have to be changed to see what is happening in there. The other option is removing some of the expander fluid and then he said it would heal right away. The down side is I would have to wait two months and then start the fill process again. I just don't want to go through that pain again so I guess I'll try to be patient and wait. I am so NOT patient!!
I love this site but I am such a people person that it bothers me to know that I'll probably never meet any of you in person. I didn't think I really believed in getting close to someone over the internet (you hear all of those long distance internet relationships where people find their soulmates) but I have to say that I do feel like I have a whole new pile of friends to count on here. My DH sometimes feels a little left out when I spend time here instead of with him...poor thing...he has been so wonderful through this that I'll have to try to be more conscious of his feelings too.
Well, I'm off for a haircut and very excited about. What the heck is it with us girls loving a haircut??? Got an answer for that Laura??

Well Heck Yvonne... soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many of us have been bald so long... just the idea of getting a HAIR CUT ROCKS!.. I have cut the back of mine once...:)... I am keeping it short and blunt until it all catches up and is one length... YEAR FROM NOW...LOL... I will probably wear my wig until then... or not... we'll see.... I had really long hair before chemo... sooooooooooo.... we will just have to see.. the short bob is kinda fun...
I am sorry your going through this crud with healing... THAT is hard.. did they tell you why you might not be healing??? The only time I have heard of this if someone had rads and expanders or implants.
Hang in there ladies.. out time is comin:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Yvonne< I just wanted to chime in here and offer you some encouragement as I had somewhat the same thing happen to me.
In a nutshell, had a unilat mtxmy w/expanders placed on a prev. rads boob from 7 years ago. My skin turned purple, broke thru, then got two spots about the size of silver dollars of necrosis. I was double determined to heal on my own before they began chemo for me, during which time we knew it would have great trouble healing. It actually did begin to heal, I used gobs of hydrogen peroxide in the "potholes" (they were bad) and gobs of globs of bacitriacin 4x daily, changing dressing each time. Believe it or not they did begin to heal...but as you know, nothing helps necrosis much....and we were running out of time for the chemo window. As you prob. also know, you have 3 months. (did you have chemo? forgive me if I don't know that, I should). At any rate, due to that, my ps took a patch from my c secion scar (benefit: neatened it up quite a bit too, it's almost invisible now), patched my foob with two circles over the potholes and up it healed in about a week. I was a sight tho, for 6 months while I had chemo. However! Very long story short: they healed perfectly. I have very slight discoloration and very little scarring. The skin is holding up, the foob actually after exchange looks pretty good, and while it seemed to take forever and kind of did, it did heal, I got my foob, but it made the process soooo long.
So just sending a little bit of encouragement your way, that even when this process takes longer and has setbacks, hang in there, it will still work out.

Annie - We will be happy to add you as 10./08. Do you want us to put in the type of exchange? If so, just let us know.
Yvonne - I am SO SORRY you are still working on that healing! Hopefully it will come around very soon.
Laura - Best wishes with your scans!
I just found out that my exchange has been moved back a week, so I will update that as well.
Take care ladies! - Jean

Hi Everyone! Thanks for everything! The exchange went very well today. It was little late getting started, but I left the hospital by 1030. I won't get a chance to peak till Monday at 9! I am all bandaged and was told to keep it that way & don't get it wet until after I see the ps. I wouldn't say it's painful more like sore, especially up under the armpit area. I guess that's where I have the most nerve endings.
I hope Pinky & Patty are doing OK. Maybe they are just groogy! I can't tell if I'm tired from the anesthia or from having to get up at 4 am this morning! Yawn!!!
Laura, Hope the scans bring you the results you want to hear & peace to you because you deserve it so much since you bring your querky sense of humor here and keep our spirits lifted!

Hi All
Got home about an hour ago from exchange. PS was able to get there about 45 minutes earlier than was scheduled. Just like Hood feeling a little sore but that is about it. I just have a strip of tape on the breast and can shower when I want. The implant is sooooo much softer although, it does not look as big as my good side. Hoping if I lose some weight they may be the same size. Hey, it's motivation for weight loss. LOL.
Anyway, glad everything went well for you Hood can't wait to hear how Pinky did.

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO Ladies!!!1 I am SO SO SO SO SO glad you are home and it is over.. I hope after you do the drop and fluff thing you have the results you hoped.
Where is Pinky..... she was so worried... eeekkkk
Ladies.. Have a fantastic afternoon.. I am off to figure out dinner... and get myself I glass of wine while I cook...I deserve it and... so do you !!! .. but don't mix it with pain pills...hehe...
ps... had my heart scan. They could not get good pictures as my BOOBS were in the way... so I had to have an IV and some bubble dye shot in there... Lord have Mercy, when will it all end.....
Love ya!!!

Hood/Joyce.. that was a nice thing of you to say. I do try to keep positive and keep my fellow bc sister spirits high, even though I know, we can't always stay positive. Sometimes we need to just kick something... a husband or a snotty teen will do.... heheheheheheheheheheheheehehe0

Laura seeing you here made me smile and it was great to already hear back from 2 of the gals : )
try to take it easy. I know I'm always a little tired for about 3 days after being put under.
That drink sounds good I have some margarita mix up stairs, thanks for the reminder

Hood and Patty, I'm so glad things went well for you! Hood, my "unveiling" is Monday too! I can't wait to see how she looks. I do love how soft she feels, though. If only this binder weren't digging into my skin, I'd feel great.
Ladyredlocks, PinkyLee, I hope you are doing OK as well.
Back to the tirimasu... (Dad brought it for me. Easy to see why I'm a Daddy's girl, huh?!) Chocolate makes everything better!

Diane.. awesome you are doing so well.. you ladies encourage those of us who live with the rock hards longer....

Hood and Patty - Yahoo! The surgery is behind you! And so soft?!?
Pinkylee and Ladyredlocks - Still waiting to hear from you two. Here's hoping it all went well.
Diane - Best wishes for the unveiling. And I want some of that tirimasu. Aren't dads great for spoiling their kids? My father passed away four years ago. But my PS and surgeon were good friends w/ him, so they continue to call me my dad's daughter when I come in. It is nice to be his daughter at 54, and I know he would get a kick out of them referring to me as such!
Laura - My dear, I agree w/ the others. I know you have been through so much, but your smiling picture and loving posts mean so much to all of us!
Sandy - I LOVE margaritas! They are my absolute favorite. I think I may just stop by.
Have a nice evening ladies!

Vinogal - Are you on for 3/2 for your reinsertion?
Psalmist - The first lady that I followed into this surgery, you are on for that date as well.
Best wishes to our first March surgeries!

Hi all,
Wow - I can't keep up on this forum! You ladies just plain out-comment me 10 to 1. I have enjoyed reading them all but won't try to send messages to everyone except to say I am praying for each of you who are facing special challenges and those who are going into surgery. Thanks for all your encouragements - this is my last Sunday having to wear "boob camo" to church to try and make my Xtra large, crooked girls look normal. I lead worship, so it is very important that I don't draw attention to my chest while up in front. People might not be focused on the right thing.
Snowed today. Eight degrees. Where is spring???

Jean - I am the same youthful age as you! My Dad is 80, and one thing that has gotten me through all this is looking forward to our long-planned opera weekend in New York March 13-15. (Dad and I share two great passions: opera and chocolate, LOL!). When I was diagnosed last year, I told him I would be OK, because I would not miss our trip together. Since he has survived a triple bypass, prostate cancer, and skin cancer, I know I come from tough stock. I'll always be his girl.
Now, I wonder how margaritas would go with tirimasu?!...

Thanks, Jean - my surgery is actually March 3rd. I go in for preop on the 2nd.
I've been eating too much for two weeks - as if I'm about to start hibernating or something. : ) I don't normally have trouble overeating but it's like I'm pregnant and hungry all the time. Nerves, maybe. Hmmm. Anybody else experiencing pre-surgery side effects? My butt is starting to look like two cinnabons taped to my backside.
