Ladyredlocks, she said she would use the fillers to get the projection I have and then pick the implant. I am glad I am on this website so I know what to expect. I am getting silicone allergan. I will call her asst tomorrow and try and get more details. Unfortunately my surgeon got rid of her partners and is very busy and doesn't have allot of time to talk . I really trust her she is the best around here and everyone in Indy knows who she is and loves her. She is a perfectionist and being a nurse I know sometimes those people don't have the best bedside manner. Hopefully it will all turn out well.

Love the picture Jax - what a gem of a hubby you have.  Retail therapy is the best kind!

Congratulations Diane!  It is a nice treat to have a foob that you like right of the bat!  I'm so very happy for you.

    Happy 25th Sue!

Oh my goodness. I could not have gone back to work so soon. I hope if you do go back and you find it's too much, you are able to take some more time off. Thanks for your support. You were right...it was a good distraction. A woman who was very kind to me during my friend Steven's illness and subsequent death came to see me today with homemade cookies stuffed into a beautiful mug with a pink ribbon on it and words of survival and hope. It brought tears to my eyes.

Please be kind to yourself in the work arena. I know unfortunately financial situations sometimes don't allow us to. Thankfully I had short term disability insurance for 13 weeks. Not as much as I would usually take home but at least something.

I posted this on another thread and thought I would share it here also...

I'm guessing some of you gals can't get to the pix forum so I will post a pix in my bikini top which if anyone see's on-line I'm ok with.  As you can see my scar came all the way down to my rib cage almost.  In my case they found IDC during my surgery (I went in thinking I had 7 clusters of DCIS) so to get clear margins they had to take extra skin and some of my muscle.  I'm happy with my final results.  My right breast is my mastectomy and my left is my lift and small expandable implant.

My skin  did get very thin.  After my 1st exchange I could even feel the port from my  saline implant.  But I'm happy to share during my 2nd exchange my new PS used more AlloDerm to help with that.  A gal was asking about scars on another thread and I just wanted to share they will get lighter : - )

Mykidsmom:  Thanks for adding me to the exchange list.  However, due to a cancellation, my surgery date was moved up to March 3rd - tomorrow!  I am ready to burn the TE, but am a bit nervous about the surgery and outcome.  The implants ordered for me are 600 cc high Mentor profile silicone gel.

Lorraine and Psalmist: my thoughts and prayers are with you tonight as we prepare for surgery tomorrow.  Good luck!  Sharon

Thanks, Kathie, Jean, Laura, and all of you who sent your best wishes!  I go under at 6:30 tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.

FYI - the question of an inframammary incision for the exchange was discussed by some of us on the photo forum.  I visited with the PS this morning about that possibility, since my scars have all but faded.  His response was a respectful, "no."  As a surgeon his first thought is blood supply.  With an incision across the breast and one underneath, then the blood supply to the skin in between the incisions is more limited.  Should the unthinkable happen and I need another surgery with yet another incision, then the skin in between those three incisions could be compromised to the point of dying.  So, there you have it.  My faded scars will just have to fade again!  : )

Had a great day at work - and got a lot of things accomplished at home.  My husband and family helped me get the house ready so that I can just veg tomorrow.

Sandy - thanks for all the information.  It helps to hear from someone who has already gone through the process.  Your picture is amazing.  That's just what I needed to see.  I was still envisioning high profile as being too pronounced, but your picture looks totally natural.  Thank you for sharing!

Diane - I am so glad that you are enjoying your new girls!

Jeanbeans - Do you know how to PM? Do a search on TimTam and then send her a private message when her name comes up.

Montana Mom - Best wishes right now! You will be fine!

Sandy - You look absolutely great! And you know it! I would be psyched w/ results like that!

Diane42 - I am w/ the others. Try to take it easy if you must return to work so soon. I am usually a real go-getter, but this surgery takes some time to recover from. And your body needs time to heal.

    Take care ladies.

Sue the dim of the high profile and your TE are real close so I'm thinking if you like the width of your TE I would go with high profile if you would like them a little wider than choose the mod plus ( I think that's what it's called)

I hope everyone does great this week and there's a lot of fluffing going on maybe even a few pillow : - )

Hi Rockwell girl, I am so nervous about the size my PS will choose once I am under. My exchange is next Tuesday the 10th of March. He tells me he will put in a set, staple me up, and decide if those are the ones he thinks look right?!! I thought to myself "well shoudn't my husband be in there?". How on earth does he know what I think looks right? I guess I have trusted him up to this point I must trust him for this. He knows I would like to be a C cup, but he hesitates to discuss cup size. He says that cup size is decieving, I say that is all I know! I used to be a DD and he wanted me to go bigger, and I said WHY? His response was as a PS they want to make the reconsruction as close to the original as they can. I guess they think it will look more natural. I also think that my expanders are too wide. Thanks for all of your wisdom and WOW do you have great looking BOOBS!!! Love, Karen

Good luck Sharon, Lorraine and Psalmist!  Thinking about you all today and praying for you lots!

Psalmist - My GS said that my healing issues are probably caused by a compromised blood supply so you really don't want to deal with that.  Another six months and your new scar will almost be gone...Oh my goodness, now I sound like my PS!  (Just another 4 months, then just another 3 months and then....blah, blah, blah)!

Sandy you're picture is a real inspiration for me as I have a right foob and a left original.  When I look in the mirror now, they are so unmatched that I can't picture ever looking like you do, so you give me some real hope!

Laura - hugs and support going out to you for your scans tomorrow!  Missed you here? Everything okay?  Rads still going okay?  Talked with my mom about rads and she explained the process to me indepth.  (((((((((((((((((((Laura)))))))))))))))))))).

Sue:  My PS explained that you cannot go too much wider than your expanders without getting spill over at the top.  The base width is what it is and the implant will fill that space and then fill in and push out the pocket at the top - in other words - it will give you more of a shelf above. For instance, my expander width is 12.4 and my choice of implant is 12.8 and I will have more rounding at the top of my breast.  Unfortunately, too much rounding at the top will make the implants eventually look unnatural.  You see how natural Sandy's breast looks....her implant's base width was very similar to the width of her expander.  So I would stick with the high profile implants Sandy mentioned earlier. You also will appreciate the projection you will get with the high profile.  Your expanders are at 7.0 cm currently and the high profile maximum projection is 5. something....without going back through the threads I cannot recall, but the moderate profile was only 4. something - you would probably not be happy with that degree of diminshed projection.

Karen/Choice can you share what type of TE you have dim and how many cc if you have that info.  Also what is the size of your rib cage.

knowing you think it's too wide we could look at the implant chart and share with you what might be good and take this info to your PS.  I hope he give you what you want and not what he wants.  I say let hubby in that OR : - )

Laura enjoy those grandkids today : - )

ok gals I have to admit I probably have close to 15 swim suits in all, for last summer I found some that went side to side to cover up my scar plus I put a little filler in the lining to make me match.  I think I have pix of that on the pix forum also.

ok I'm going to share a funny " ass " story from last night.  As a lot of you know I have a beautiful 15 year old daughter that's about a size 1 - 3.  Yesterday Kelsey and I both had on khaki pants.  Last night we were working out in our washer in dryer room / storage area.  I had just came back into the family room and was sitting at the computer (hard to believe I know lol)  All of a sudden I hear Kelsey say what the FXXX.  Here Kelsey came down from up stairs and was bending over into the freezer.  Rick happen to walk by and thought it was me and grabbed her ass.  Her 1st thought was that it was just silly mom but when she saw it was Rick she said what the FXXX.  He was shocked to see her head come up.  We all got a good laugh out of it and it made me feel awful good thinking I have an ass that looks like a 15 year olds Laughing  .  I need to add my husband is not a pervert this was a total mistake which gave us all a laugh and made me feel darn good.

I just wanted to share I bumped up my 3 threads I have on the pix forum.  Even though I looked good with my 1st implant I really didn't like the way it looked from the side.  You could actually see the implant.  My expander was 12.7 and my 1st implant was only 11.4 I think.  I hope these will be helpful for some of you to see.  Especially what I did to try and look even that really helped me.  In my case last year I hit my out of pocket max with my insurance so my 2nd exchange didn't really cost me anything which made it a easier decision.

Sandy - Wow - you have two beautiful breasts, and an ass like a 15 year olds? I think I will use you as an inspiration for my diet I'm just starting (so the rest of me will go better with my perky new 17-year foob! (as my PS calls it). What an inspiration you are! Smile

You only have a 550cc implant? I have an 800cc, and I just fill (well, kinda overfill) my old b-cup bra! Of course, mine was only installed yesterday. Laughing  How long did yours take to drop, fluff, or do whatever else it did to assume such a lovely shape?

It's great to see how light in color your scar is too. So encouraging to us newbies!

Diane that swim suit pix was taken 3 weeks after my 2nd exchange.  I'm not really sure about the hole drop and fluff thing I guess I would have to take new pix and compare to the old to see if there was a change and I just don't notice with seeing them everyday.

It's so weird how we can all get a different size with the same implant.  But I think for some of us the TE can push in a little so we need the implant to make up for that.  So that could be why the projection is different for some of us.

I just want to add I got into running about 5 years ago and adventure racing 2 years ago before that I had gained 15 lbs and got to a size 11.  By no means am I saying anything is bad about a size 11 but I do feel a lot better now that I'm more active and down to a size 5, 7 or 9 depending on the item.  At times I still forget I lost weight and surprise myself when I look in the mirror.

I hope everyone is having a great day.  I will be heading out soon to see my PS and talk nipple rec.  Than later watching my little boy play another ball game : - )
