    Lorraine

I'm nervous about posting on the picture forum too.  I work for the federal government and have security clearance.  They do periodic background checks and I would hate for these pictures to be found during those checks!

Thanks for the "D" encouragement!  Will you come to keep me from toppling forward?

I can't believe you are going to be 50!  I will be 45 and thought you were much younger then me.

I am so happy that you are happy with your results!!!  When I first found out I was having a mastectomy, I told my kids about the process, ending with implants.  My son, who is 16, was horrified.  I think he just got that his old mom was gonna have implants!

Val61 asked about getting into the picture forum--could someone explain that for her and for myself--I asked before but can't find that post, as it was a while back.  I don't see anything in Forum Index or in Jump to a Forum.  I'd like to add a photo and would love to see what others have posted!

    Thanks, Suzie

Dani and Tracy! thank you soooo much!! I needed that today! I was dreading my 50th, but now I am just grateful......funny how that works huh! Dani, I don't blame you for not wanting to post your pics, working for the government, its probably not a good idea, even if your face is hidden who knows! I would gladly come over and hold you up LOL!!!

to get into the picture forum, PM timtam if you go to the members list and look for her name, then just send her a message and she will PM you the instructions, its super easy!

Dianne~~Has your 16 year old gotten over it now?  I know at that age they think we're way too old to care how we look any more!  I'm still looking for a way to explain to my 5 year old granddaughter.  She knows I had surgery but not why, and I know she'll ask for specifics one day soon.  I have a huge family with adults and kids of every age you can name, and they've all been wonderful and comfortable with the whole process

Just one of my DH's friends stared at my chest--the one with the trophy wife who he gifted with huge implants for augmentation!!

Okay, is it just me?  I clicked private messages, compose, and the to: box has no space to type a name.  What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, whippetmom, fairy49, and looper.  I just PM'd timtam so we'll see what happens!

As for the teenage boy issue, I also have one -just turned 17. I just think it's hard to boys that age to think, let alone talk, about their mom's breasts!  Adding the whole cancer thing onto that just makes it worse.  Mine has been protective of me, though, making sure I'm not lifting too much, etc.  My other son, 21, was home for my Chrismas-time diagnosis, but was back at school for the surgeries, so he's somewhat clueless as to what all happened. I wouldn't have it any other way, really. He still checks on me daily, though, which is very sweet.  Boys can be wonderful - eventually!

Easy research link for Allergan Natrelle breast implants.  This is much easier than scrolling down the PDF file pages of the Allergan website.  This contains all of the styles with various cc's and dimensions for easier reference.

I just read about explaining it to a 5 year old and I explained it to my 6 yr. old daughter by showing her barbie and telling her that I will look like Barbie for a little bit (without nipples).  Then I explained that eventually I will have them again and she was fine with the explaination.

It sounds crazy but that was all that I could come up with :)

Laura  Yes, I am finally here in Texas & expecting my first grandbaby...a boy.  He is due April 10.

Someone asked about the Natrelle 15 midrange profile.(752cc)  That is what I have and I am not happy with the projection.  But I think because I need the diameter to be large it was the only choice my ps had.  I do have great cleavage.  Maybe if I lose the extra weight that I have gained thru all this they might look a little better.  I don't know.  I tried on a bra and one is a full C and the other needs to be a bit fuller on top. I was a little leary to ask for the high profile because I thought I would end up looking like Madonna with pointy foobs, but I don't think that would have been the case. All the girls who decided on the "high profile" are all very happy with their results.

Kathie!! You are right about Mattel! that made be laugh out loud, scared the dog!

Cathee, I have the style 15 moderate profile (put in last Tuesday), they do pop out a bit on me but my rib cage is quite narrow, but at this point I have no idea how it all works! I did spend an un Godly amount of time trying on my drawer full of bras today, and I figure I am a 36DD which is what I was before, but I was super droopy before!Foot in mouth I would like to project a little more but I can't imagine wearing a bigger bra, I think I would look ridiculous! I am going to wait a while as its only been 10 days and see if they change at all.....if I am not happy I will definately make changes.

Oh Jax - You deserve it. Way to go lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lorraine - You know you look beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go lady!

Cathee - According to Sandy and others, the cc's are not all there is to size. At least that's what they tell us. Each one of us seems to be so different. Congratulations on your grandchild! The baby will be here soon!

    Take care.  - Jean

I am just so curious because she has the same implant as I do (and I have the largest it comes in) and I am a C cup and she is a DD.  I guess it's because she is a smaller person than I am.  I find it interesting.

Cathee - I am with you there, that's for sure. I find it fancinating the different results. Are your implants settling in at all? Or I guess the ladies call it fluffing. Or is it too soon to tell? I am thinking that I won't like my implants initially because I have gotten used to the large TE look, but that they will grow on me when they become the new normal. But, honestly, I am finding that I am getting a bit nervous as my date approaches. Here's hoping your's settle and fluff and become just what you wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take care. - Jean

I was nervous and soooo excited before my exchange and I built myself up thinking I was going to be 16 again.  Oops didn't happen!!!  Someone here said "Let your eyes catch up to your expectations" and that help me because at first I was so disappointed.  I am getting better about them and they do look good in a T-shirt.  I can't lose sight of all the GREAT things I have to be thankful for.

    Have a great weekend Ladies.

I agree that everyone looks great on the picture forum and they all look better than mine.   I am very happy for everyone that has completed their exchange and are pleased with their results.  Hopefully, I wiill be pleased after my revision next week.

And I agree, 50 is not old.  I am 55 and my grandkids tell me all the time that I am not old, their other grandma is old.

Well, ladies - I had a sudden reversal of fortune today!  Just got back from surgery.  I awoke feeling fine this morning and sat down to have coffee when I suddenly felt pressure on my right side.  Within five to ten minutes, my right breast was twice the size of the other and hard as a rock. Called my doctor who was headed out of town.  He met me at the office, and sent me to the hospital, figuring a blood vessel had ruptured in the area where he had done some pocket revision.  By the time I got into surgery, it had swollen up to my clavicle and started under my arm - VERY painful and still filling.    Anyway, he removed the implant and cleaned everything, found the bleeder and cauterized it.  He ended up being able to put the implant back in and didn't need to leave a drain (thank God).  I got home at 3:30 PM and am just waking up from the meds.

The doctor said in all his 14 years in our city, I am one of about three who developed a hematoma following surgery, and the only one more than a few days out from post op.  Lucky me.    He thinks the blood vessel was slightly damaged during the revision process and the implant rubbed on it enough to finally rupture it.  It was a weird day.

Ladies... I am struggling with rads. I am not ignoring the list..:)

I love you gals.. and will return when I feel better. Rads are not treating me too well, but many are like me.. so no big deal. I still feel I should not have done them. I will always feel this way. But if I did not do them and got mets... you see where I am  going with this....

I love to see the Vegas list.. I hope it grows!

Diana.. what are the odds you can go.. ( I will work on her) Linda too... :):)

Love to you ladies.. I will try to get on Sunday.. I am so tired....

    Cancer... gotta love it.. NOT!

Oh, my! So sorry to hear about your unexpected event today.  Glad they were able to fix it and save your implant.  I hope the rest of your recovery is uneventful.

hello ladies.....hoping and praying all of your exchanges and other surgeries are going well...and that all are  healing nicely and your pain is being kept to a minimum.....I am now 10 days post exchange and so far I have been trying to take it slow and easy and using the pain pills. I went back to work for a meeting on Wed and got suckered into doing a whole day of office work.....so now plan on keeping a wide berth away from work place next week....I love my job , but we are always so busy in the ICU .....and for some reason only you fellow "Exchange" ladies seem to understand what all this entails and all the emotional and physical pain that goes with it.

I thought I would snap back sooner this time but the area below my underarms had lot of revision work done, and the reshaping makes my new foobs look much softer and rounder....but OUCH.....raising and moving my arms very much. The implants I got are looking and feeling pretty good.....anyway I think they do...but was surprised to still be having some muscle "cramping".......but NOTHING like the expanders......so I just thank my stars I am this far along the road to recovery.

My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you....Ellaine

Oh psalmist, what a frightening experience!  What a blessing from above that your PS was still in town and could meet you at the hospital and knew just what to do.  And it is a Friday!!  I look at weekends differently when it comes to all of the procedures we are going through with reconstruction....just want to avoid a crisis over a weekend!.  So thankful that you came home doing well and WITH your implant!!
