Twirl:  So this is a good thing - that you have the low height TE.  That is a pretty large TE for a little girl - but if your PS feels this is what he needs to get you where he wants you to be, then we will trust him with that decision.  I doubt you will need to fully expand though.  I keep forgetting that so many of you are young and can breeze through these surgeries...

Come on Deborah you are still young. Age is just a number. I know I woud never have guessed you were 60.

People peg my DH for 39 and he is 50 so that is a good thing.

    Too too funny Deborah!!

Twirl, I'm glad you are happy with the TE exchange.  None of us here ever want to discourage anyone from doing what they feel is best.  We just want people to question things and make sure they are making an informed decision.  It sounds like the new TE is a bigger in diameter and will make your final exchange much easier.

Nancy and Twirl, you have pretty special PS' if they think this is a great place to learn about our surgeries.  We all know how special this place is, but most PS would rather we avoid it like the plague.  They don't want to be questioned.   Of course when you show them all the great responses from the picture forum, they can't help but like that. Wink

My med. onc has checked out BC.org and told me it was a good resource.  When I started going to him, he told me to stay off the internet except for a couple sites.  I had shown him the study about the citalopram for hot flashes last month and told him I wanted to switch to that.  He asked if the drug company posted the report and I told him I read about it on BC.orgt.  That's when he told me he had checked out the site and it is one of his few "approved" sites.  Yea

Deborah, I'll be sure to detail the tattoo process when I post the pics.  Not too complicated.  Just a two, maybe three session process.

Deborah: Layers in the tattoo.. YES.. no one should be done with a tat in one try. A true tat will fade.and the under layer will arise... to show the first step.. then.. 6-8 weeks later.. the final step... OR you might need the third. PLEASE talk to Judy. SHE knows this stuff.. WELL! I can only speak in layman's terms. In my industry.. what I know of permanent make-up.. ( not from PS.. but from licensed artists)... PM her on the Deb... she will fill you in on the right procedure...xxxooo

Laura - Thanks for your post for the newbie "window shoppers" (aka "lurkers").  We really do want them to know that they are welcome to join this awesome circle of support!  Even though I may not check in daily anymore, I still pray for all the EC girls every day!        Botox?  Surely not.....you're way too young.....my friend suggested that I offer to my PS the use of my photos in exhange for Botox....I'm too chicken to do it, though(botox, I mean).....I'm a wimp with a capital "W"....   And speaking as a short-haired chick, I wouldn't have it any other way!  (when you see my hair, you'll understand......)

Twirl - I had short-height TE's, too.  They look a bit weird since they don't expand your upper pole.....think ski slope.....but the end result is SO worth it!   Good luck to you!

Tomorrow I get my drains out!!!  Can't wait to be untethered!  My PS is out of the country so her best friend, my BS, said she will take them out.  It will be good to see her, again.  Just not looking forward to the 4 hours of driving round trip to Tucson and back.  Oh well, lots of quality time with my DH and maybe even squeeze in a romantic lunch somewhere!

Kate~ good job you added that your PS's BEST MATE is also your BS!!! lol

I'd got vision of her just calling up her mate and saying...." yeah,i'm outa town next week.Fancy having a go at taking some drains out of my patient..."!!!!! LOL

I am dreading it in case i need drains after my exchamge. They make you feel like $hit. Urgh.

Deborah~ ummmm.........nope........you can safely say you are NOT a panther!!! well not an old grey one anyway!

Laura~my sis-in-law used to get asked all the time if her hub (my bro) was her son!! She IS 11 yrs older than him,and he DOES look baby faced-even though he is now 41. But you dont need botox! even if you have lines, remember every line tells a story and shows you have lived and laughed. =)

Kate, yea on getting rid of the drains!!!  I hated the pulling and soreness of the drains sites the most.

M-star  I can imagine why you would dread the drains even more than us in the States.  You have to lug those quart (liter) jars around in pretty gift bags.  Blech.

Mrslrg and Kate what inspirational stories and what a great idea to donate bras that no longer work for us.  Thank you for your stories.

Welcome home Kate :)  Don't worry about drains yet...lots of us didn't need them...maybe you wont have to have them...cross fingers.

Kittycat love the new pic ^. .^ wish you quick comfort from your chemo treatments......

As far as vampires go I'm with you Kristinka.......I love True Blood.....a horrible delight ;)

So happy to hear the money is going to help sweet Gavin.

Thank you Deborah for sharing your photos of the roses and the gift....you only make them look more beautiful :)  You have helped so many tirelessly and carefully....a friend to all :)

Thank you Laura for making Deborah's birthday so special :) and for Gavin's gift!

Kate so sorry about your experience in the hospital......so glad you finally got out of there safely. When things go wrong in hospitals doctors don't call....they never say anything to acknowledge any mistake or possible mistake. They immediately circle the wagons and go into lawyer protective mode. The most important thing is to never give the patient any indication, even through a followup that may give any impression that something may have been done incorrectly. The wagons circled when your husband was kept out of the room and not allowed to "witness" your condition.  I would get all your records......but don't expect any incriminating notes...they are very careful to not overstate anything that may be questionable. I would also write a letter to the hospital, with cc's to the doctors and anyone involved and cc your lawyer. This does not say you are going to sue....but it does say you are aware of the events and NOT HAPPY.  You should also send you complaint to the Board of Health. The Board of Health is obligated to follow up all patient complaints and comb through all the records, interview doctors and makes them miserable >=)  It also becomes part of the hospital record to have a formal complaint lodged against them.  This can also be done to by lodging complaints against the doctors and or nurses that you believe were involved in the errors made during that experience. Above all I'm glad your ok...the anesthesia in your body (which takes weeks to totally clear) can also contribute to the natural sadness and grief of loosing our own bodies to this disease.  I am almost 8 weeks out and still have bad days...but I do have good days......the ups and downs go on ;)

Judy so glad you have an exchange date...whiching you all the success in the world.

    Val...happy tats to you! :)

Lilah and Hannah.....I'm 6 years older than my husband......for half a year I'm 5.5 years older :) So far he still thinks I'm cute ^. .^  I am far beyond cougar.....must be a dusty old lion by now!

Kimberly...CONGRATS on your new nips!!!!! Can't wait to see some picks :)

Lilah my lawn is burning up too...my garden is gasping.....I think NJ got a few degrees hotter than NY.......phew it's even too hot for Smudge!  Praying for a long soft rain. :)

Twirlandcurl glad you second te went well.....sounds like you have a great relationship!

Wow.......that took a long time to catch up with your chatty ladies ;)  I've been busy with World Cup, DH's birthday (got him an iPad...he's over the moon!) teaching workshops and trying to keep my garden from burning up.  Hope this NY heat wave breaks soon =\  Smudge doesn't even want to walk for very long /' . '\

Sorry for such a long post.....that's what I get for staying off-line for a while...........

Wishing healing, strength and courage to all,

Wow!  I have been away from this site for what I thought was just a few days...took me a while to catch up.  I don't post too much on this thread, but I  follow it.

Happy belated bithday Deborah!  Your the gift that keeps on giving!  You have  a generous heart the way you help so many of us here.  Thank you!

Kate- I feel so badly for the experience you have been through.  As I was reading your post I couldn't help but feel my own vunerability, deep down I think we all have fears that something like this could happen.to us..I am so glad you are on the mend, and everything is okay.

Last week I postponed my fill and rescheduled until next week.  Thanks to all of you I have a battery of questions for my PS.  He wanted to exchange out my TE for larger ones.  I think I am going to go for the overfill and exchange out to the larger saline implants.  Thanks to Deborah and MooreTennis...a lot of info..

My BS recommended this site to me the day I was diagnosed.  I am ever grateful to her for hooking me up with women who understand.  Friends and family get tired of hearing about my fears....You ladies ROCK! Always the listening ear, and shoulder to lean on!

Hi gals; whew am I glad that heat wave is over.  I think that if we "befriend" the lurkers (are they on certain threads, or on the photo forum?) and get them to chat more to let their guards down, or if each of us, takes notice of where they show up and what thread the stolen info is from, we should get a handle on it.  Can we block them?  Can TimTam deny them access?

I had a bunch of trouble with a true loon on these threads awhile back and I stopped posting for awhile because of it.

But man, how v sick is someone....I guess our boobies must look very good if this freak is lurking, heh ladies. :)

love you all, Twirl sounds good....it seems that you may be in the hands of a very nice perfectionist, that found a TE that he thought would give you a more beautiful end result and that he was thrilled about this.  My PS is a wonderful, kind perfectionist also, and I wouldn't change a thing he did.  He worked literal miracles with a lumpectomized,  10 years ago rads boob that got necrosis, skin breakdown, and he patched it and got me thru it, just telling me to hang in there.

Kindest, most brilliant PS ever.....how I wish, wish wish he will end up choosing to do nipple sparing procedures, as i don't want anyone else ever.  As of now he doesn't do them.

Dr. James Passaretti, of Darien, CT, by the way, at Aesthetic Surgery.  Anyone  in NYC area, try him out.  Fantastic!

Annie -- I think the lurkers Laura was addressing are the shy ones... what stolen info are YOU talking about?

How wonderful that you love your PS so much Annie!  Is it possible you could love another? :)  One who does NSM procedures?  Might be worth a consult (I'm not thinking of anyone specific). If I understand right, though, those who are candidates for this type of procedure (NSM) are small busted women (is that right Kate? anyone else who has had a NSM?)

Lilah, thanks for defining what Laura meant by a "lurker".

I don't believe that you have to try to "find" or "block" those that are not posting often, as I don't believe that the shy ones are trying to cause a problem or stalk you all but are trying to learn and travel this road as more of a silent partner.   I guess you might all consider me one since I don't post often.  I have found it hard to post often since this all moves so quickly and at times when I have posted there were no responses.   Shy...yes, and hard to let my guard down in such a public forum but have learned so much from you all and this bc board has been such a help in traveling this bc road.

Annie, I am sorry that you have had a problem with some of the people on this thread but I hope you can understand that not everyone may be as open on such a fast moving forum.

You all have seem to be such wonderful ladies and have reached out to help each other.  One good thing bc has brought into our lives is more friendships!
