Jen thats great that you are feeling good at 1 week post op. That gives me hope. I posted more pics today on pic forum. I really think the bruising and swelling are going down. How does everyone put the type of implnt in your signature line. I cant figure out how you put any kind of free text in the sig line. Can someone help me?

Hi, ladies. Had my exchange and recon Wednesday. PS told my DH that there was some difficulty with the reconstruction/augmentation to the natural side due to my thin skin, and that it would 'drop'. Now, I know it will, but where? lol. I see him Monday to discuss, I hope. My exchange looks good, but the other side - she's practically on my side. TOTALLY pointing left, not forward, and sitting so my arm is constantly hitting it. I have only bandages on right now. Is there anything I can do this soon after surgery? I know there's a 'repair' in my future, I just hope I don't have to have a sideways boob until then. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!

Hey all! Just checking in. Congrats on everyone healing from their exchanges. I had my post op today and got my drains removed! Finally I feel like a normal person again. I also discovered that I do still fit in my expander bras (32 D). I was afraid I would be back to my 32 C and I'd have to get rid of all the bras I prematurely bought lol. I'm happy with how they look, the only thing is I wish I could get a little more cleavage (I have natrelle silicone round hp's). I really don't want to have more surgery, but does anyone know of fat grafting might fix this? It's not a huge deal, but sometimes I like a little cleavage, you know? Haha. Happy healing everyone :)

    Hello everyone,

I am 3 wks postop and on my left side it looks like a double bubble.Frown I do not go for my postop till 6-14. Did anyone see any signs of that this early after exchange? What do they do for it? I read something about the crease or fold is not right. Any info would be helpful. I don't want to jump the gun to soon on thinking the worst. Has anyone had it and it went away?

coffee4me - Has the area cropped up since you last saw the PS?  If so and if it doesn't feel urgent (like a seroma, infection, etc) I would contact the office on Monday and not wait and worry for 2 more weeks.  Many PSs and/or the PA are open to email photos if you are able to take some good pictures.  Fingers crossed that it's only a temporary thing!

Mel: go to my profile, settings and edit your signature line. You can add free format text in there. You can also copy and paste it in that line as well. That's how I changed mine to put my implant type.

What type of implants did you end up with?

Thanks Jen I think I managed to get it in my sig line. I got the same ones you did. Mentor sm round high profile 700 on right and 550 on left. I now know what hamburger bun look means. lol I dont care Im just so happy to be done. When do you officially go back to work? Healing hugs

Hi Mel yep looks like it added to your signature line this time. I officially go back to work 06/10 but starting Monday I'm allowed to work from home a few hours a day. Heck I felt good enough the second day to go back to work if I had to (desk job)! Lol

Give your new boobies a chance to settle in. I can already see on my right side where there was pocket work done some changes for the better. My PS said it takes a few weeks for them to settle in.

How ya feeling this morning? I feel almost 100% back to normal and sleeping is wonderful again!

Hi Mel, glad you're doing so well! When do you see PS again? Will be great getting the drain out, major step there for you. Am so thankful for these forums as I knew what to expect after surgery regarding the shape of the foobs. I know I would have been very disappointed with the hamburger bun shape but knew to be patient. Am 6 weeks out and the shape is so much more natural and wonder what they'll be like 6 weeks from now. I have similar implants and should probably add to my signature line as well.

Hey 2nd time, I go Thursday for my 1st post op. How long did it take to lose the hamburger look? Im so happy that I have anything there that I dont really care what it looks like but Im excited about what it might turn out to be. I did put some pics up on the pic forum but they are from right after surgery so they look really gross lol. Healing hugs

Mel, I would say I was noticing a significant difference about 2-3 weeks ago, making it about a month out. Keeps getting a bit better. I was happy too to have something instead of the concave chest i lived with for so long. Saw your pix - you're looking for such recent surgery (I was on pain meds big time for a week or so and couldn't have gotten pix, let alone hold a camera steady then). You'll get there soon enough!

Also, it was about a month after exchange that I started looking for bras. Still keeping tags on as they can be returned after I see a fitter at Nordies, hopefully within the month.

    Edited to add bra info

How much rippling is acceptable?  My exchange was March 19.  They look great when I stand still and even when pushed up in a bra.  But if I move or use my arms in any way I see several ripples.  My PS is a maniac about looking natural.  They look darn natural. I was hoping they'd be a bit more fake if you can believe it.  I have 500cc Mentor round high profile.  If I do arm weights in a sports bra, they look really weird in the upper pole.  Otherwise, it looks great.

They are so natural looking, when I lay down they head toward my armpits just like the old ones.  The left one gets a "space" near my sternum that the right side doesn't have.

If they just sat a little closer together they would appear a full cup size bigger.  If I just hold them up an 1/2 inch and in one inch they'd be perfect.   They need a 34 D/DD bra (Nordstorms suggeste 32DDD/DDDD - but that makes so much back fat) but they barely look like a full C in clothes.

Will I need to have the rippling fixed?  Is there anything he can do about the armpit slide?  He probably won't but I am just wondering.

    Thanks.

Melmcbee and Janet....Welcome to the Squishy side!......

Mel....wlcome to the Mentor club!Laughing......I love the suishy-ness of them!

JanetB1961, sorry 'bout your lost/wrong direction breast....here's hoping your PS will let you know what is going on and redirect it.

I knew before my exchange I would have to have a revision, due to excess skin and some problem area on both foobs....so I did not have any expectation except softer....and that I got....

July 8 is my revision and I am hoping for semi normal looking "mounds" rather than ones with peaks and valleys and depending how I move my arms....crunched up skin!

    Gentle Hugs,

    Di

    Brownlee,

My exchange was April 15 and I am having similar problems especially the migration to the pits. PS plans on doing a revision late August or first of September. He said my pockets were too big for my implants. It is what it is at this point until fall. Was really hoping I would not have to have a revision, but would rather have another surgery than to live with my implants in my arm pits when I lay down. He wants me to wait 3 months before he opens the pocket again.

Hey Mel...we had our exchange surgery on the same day!  I just got on for the first time today, glad that yours went well!  I am so happy to have the expanders out, it's just a totally different kind of pain now with the incisions!  I had one drain, but, it was not working, so, they pulled it this morning.  I saw myself without wrapping for the first time this morning, I had 650cc's put in each side, and, I thought it would look much bigger than it does!  I guess I was expecting some miracle, but, after having radiation 6 years ago on one side, and, other surgeries, it is definitely a "work in process" (as my PS says).  He told me that they would drop and "fluff", which would make them look bigger, is that true?  He also said that he could go back in after they settle and put bigger ones in, but, I am hoping that these end up looking good.  I hope you are doing ok...what a long journey this is ha?  Barb

Yay, I finally get to join this discussion! My exchange date will be July 10. I'm a bit nervous since I had radiation, but except for some tightening and thin areas, my skin looks really good. I'll be so glad to get rid of these TEs! My PS showed me both the Natrelle smooth rounds, and the Natrelle 410s. We decided the smooth rounds would be better for me, and I told the PS I'd trust his judgement when determining the right size at exchange. When I first began this journey, I thought I'd want to be bigger. I don't care about that anymore. My old size would be fine. Just get these coconuts out of my chest!

Wishing all of you happy healing!

    Andrea,

I will be having fat grafting, and possible skin redraping and removal of excess skin.....my BS saved too much!  I WAS SUPER BIG but chose not to be as big as I once was .....but my PS never removes excess skin  until implants have settle in and then he knows how much skin is extra.

Di, can I ask where the extra skin in located? Mine is under my armpit, my PS never gave me a detailed explanation, yours makes a lot of sense. All she said after mx and TE's were placed that she probably couldn't address this issue at exchange and would be considered later as a revision. I'll ask Thursday, and hopefully will also get revision surgery date then.

Welcome, Andrea! Send Mykidsmom a PM if you want to be added to the list above

    Di2012,

Is that a Boston that is doing such a heroic job of supporting you? I have two of them and they have been so good through all of this...really kept me grounded : )
